Gob Smash One

Game Master Tacticslion

They be goblins, you be food... why are they so weird, dude?

That's what the W.D.G.F.F. (Western Duchy Goblin Fighting Force) first Reconnaissance and Strike Crew, aka "Gob Smash One" (that's you) have been sent to find out, in the barren mana wastes beyond the edge of the Duchy near the border of Geb in an ancient abandoned outpost called Hightower...

Thanks guys and WB as well stone. Sheet updated.

Excellent. In game update coming hopefully soon...

Minor update and clarification time!
.

.

.

Currently:

- After a long spiral stairway, you are in a massive underground cavern; apparently you are in another world.

- Vitreous turned into a giant snake (apparently due to a "blessing" given to him when Father Husk was still an undead spider).

- You are now riding the snake version of Vitreous to the top of a 100 ft. "Mesa" in the center of the cavern, where lots of creatures (similar to those you came across before that were killed).

- On the top is supposedly Jakk Tornclaw, the goblin cleric at the top that's supposedly responsible for many things, including a plague that's devastating the local area, empowering the necromantic battery building toward explosion,... and for causing the problems over in Alkenstar and fomenting the goblins there into the organized bands plaguing the area.

Hope that helps!

Vitals: Hp 37/37. AC 26, T 15, FF +23, Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +2 (+2 vs spells and SLAs, Evasion, Stalwart, Fort, DR 2-), Percept +11, Darkvision 60ft, Initiative +6, Stealth +9, Sense Motive -1

Sweet! I will update that shortly :)
That also reminds me that i need to look back and see what our "training" enabled me to do.
ya i hate choosing traits >.> way too many choices, no organization, complete mess and frustrating to sift through :(

Yeah, the organization and overlap is pretty terrible. It's why I appreciate short lists like that. Also, check the campaign tab for a link to the Training Benefits!

Wow that campaign tab is huge O.o
Still, I think I got every thing done on my char and upgraded :)
just a quick question, I don't have the saved info for any equipment I took beyond muleback chords and the equipment you supplied. Is it ok if I just take a few lvl 1 potions and a few Mwk tools?
Thinking of a few CLWs and 1-2 True strike.

Quote:
either way, you'll start with 3,000 gold; however, tell me what you're going for armor-wise/play style-wise, and I'll provide something similar as part of your enforced recent training
Quote:
If there is any equipment you currently own that overlaps with equipment given here, you may sell the equipment you've currently listed to acquire the equipment you currently have. Further, you may choose to purchase any magic item you would normally be able to afford at a 10% discount. If there are any questions or concerns, PM me.

Those two things should cover your ability to acquire things, Stone. Remember to re-purchase your weapons (including your unique helmet!) and similar items. Otherwise, that should cover it!

There we go. Updated.

Think Ooze could take that unclaimed smelly armor, that seems on point for him.

As you like!

.

.

.

The Current Update in a nutshell:

- You all landed (riding Vitreous) on the Mesa.

- A really weird-looking creature landed from the ceiling onto Vitreous' head, and spoke to you in Sylvan.

- Bad stuff happened to a few goblins below from the evil lightning, before the mist could (temporarily at least) return them to "normal" (more or less).

- The main goblin is diseased, magical, and talks to the lot of you about something from about thirty feet away. He has used Common (Golarion) and Goblin (Midori) flawlessly (lacking any sort of accent).

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the neat update Tac! Shaedo's got a lot of material for her next chorus of gob-smash one's adventures!

Vitreous "Darling" Drimplegatto wrote:
...let me eat a gobbo priest!

I just thought a syllogism that may be useful:

1. You are what you eat.
2. Jakk is Nugglet's husband.
3. Therefore, if Vitreous eats Jakk, Vitreous will be Nugglet's husband!

This logic of course is indisputable, and Vitreous, in his giant snake form, might even pull it off!

There, all of Vitreous' romantic difficulties are solved! (Then again, I haven't seen anything in those top-secret spoilers, but how bad could it be, I mean really? .... Oh .... Oh dear- - ... what have I done this time!)

...

-Shaedo, the wise fox, always happy to give her romantic advice!

Jeez people, don't you have other things to do on a Friday night? Off to read 18 NEW POSTS... ;p

Early responses --

1. If Jakk landed on Vitreous's head, shouldn't Vitreous get an AOO?

2. Wait, someone else new? Who is this? When did they show up? Player of psi-dish - welcome. I'm just having increasing trouble keeping track of everyone again. I'm sorry.

3. Rolling dice over here:

Sense Motive 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Sense Motive 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

4. Wait, was it psi-dish who landed on Vitreous's head, or Jakk?

5. Okay, in the big long post I missed this:

Quote:

It bears slightly modified goblin armor (apparently adjusted for its particular anatomical needs) a few odds and ends (including a mug and blanket tied to the belt of its armor), exceedingly oddly mismatched clothing, looking like it was taken from several different suits - all of which were falling apart -, cobbled together and violently (and inexpertly, if skillfully) "adjusted" for this creatures' body, and two axe heads (one with a short piece of rusted chain attached, the other with a shattered handle) bound together by a tattered rope.

It looks ready to continue to ride the giant snake... anywhere, really.

About thirty feet away, the goblin - due predominantly to the arrival of the incredibly massive giant snake - spins, being made aware of your presence but seemingly unconcerned.

He's... strange-looking, even by goblin standards.

(I got confused because everyone is a strange looking creature with "goblin" mentioned somewhere, and I missed the fact the person who is talking is standing farther away.

Tac is sleeping in this morning, so maybe I can help?

In summary:

Eris and Mother Rainbow headed off on some super-secret magic side-quest, leaving Layla in command.

Layla suggested a plan of attack, with roles for everyone, which you can read here.

We all flew up to the top of the Mesa on the back of giant snake Vitreous.

At the top of the Mesa, we found a deformed hybrid blue/green goblin (Evil High Priest Jakk, Nugglet's husband) controlling the ritual, wearing mega-armor, and being circled by two floating shields.

As far as we know, Jakk is not the Bloatfly. The Bloatfly is an evil fly goddess of death and decay, I think. But maybe Jakk is possessed by her, or something. Who knows?

There are dead or almost dead sacrifice victims chained around the edges of the platform.

Way, way down below in deep chasms, tons of gobs sit, as if in a trance, chanting.

Also, a strange alien creature (new player Psi-Dish) jumped onto Vitreous's back with us, speaking in Sylvan. Shaedo proclaimed him to not be a threat to us.

At present, Layla is invisibly sneaking around Jakk to the right, and Shaedo is invisibly sneaking around Jakk to the left. We're setting up assassination attempts, while everyone else distracts Jakk.

If our invisible assassination attempts fail, then all the warriors attack Jakk, while anyone else tries to figure out how to stop the ritual.

Does that help? :)

That is correct, Layla.

Thanks, Layla!

Don't know if I'm right, but Shaedo heard the screams of sacrificial victims timed too well with Jakk's deaths. She is thinking that his "immortality" is somehow linked to them, so she wants to try and free them.

However, there are two things she wants to try before committing herself to that: first, mage armor potion (I really should drank that earlier! >_<) and then, why what do you do with a huge, bunched up group of gob guardians? Why, confusion of course!

Freeing the sacrifice victims sounds good!

For clarity: The only enemy up on this plateau is Jakk.
The other gobs number in the hundreds and are way down below us sitting in big pits chanting, seemingly in a trance ... and they're the ones Schnorzel asked us not to kill, if possible, since, like her, they more-or-less had to do what Jakk said.

EDIT:
The things that knocked back Layla and Shaedo are a pair of chained, floating tower shields, circling/protecting Jakk.

AAaahh-haa! Thanks for the clarification Layla! Somehow I thought the plateau was packed with gobs!

Alright then, the gobs in the pit shall be spared if they are already all mind-controlled.

Ooon the other hand, maybe mind magic may serve as a counter to their hypnotism? If they're confused, they won't necessarily die, just act chaotically. It may even interrupt the ritual a bit... hmmm.... >_> <_<

Its ok, we can just open a portal to hell and punch demons until their souls drop out of the demons rump sacks.

1) A bit. I will inform you after you state any further actions on your part. Consider it a (very, very slightly) delayed arrival.

2) It did not - you may reduce the damage accordingly.

Two more notes:
1) A correction: as it was not mentioned, I forgot to have Frosty attack this turn. Both of his attacks missed, however, so no real change.
2) On Roll20 - those prisoners with the net symbol are still chained.

Attempting something with the Roll20 Map. Trading the in-Roll20 icons for face icons. I'm... not sure about the results. In some ways, it's much nicer and clearer... in other ways, however, it's not: as the heads have borders and thus kind of block each other when "squeezed" into places.

EDIT: this is me asking you guys to tell me what you think. This way, they definitely don't accidentally blend into the background, which is nice. But it becomes cluttered quickly.

Also, the one (so far) with the "null" symbol is the one that Ceru has "altered".
