I've been slowing down posting to give players a chance to jump in, but some people are falling through the cracks. I'd like for this to be a 2 post a day PbP. Is that still doable for everyone?
Sorry, woke up late and I was at worked two jobs today followed by RL game session. Posting now. Two posts is fine, normally. They may just end up at crazy hours, since I work crazy hours.. Any time between 6am and 4am (midwest time).
Yeah, my rl games took a downturn with my kids. It's why I started playing PbP games. I don't need a babysitter for these and I don't have to worry about them trying to eat my dice.
This is by far the best play by post game I've been in. Singer if you open a new game or have someone drop out of your other game please give me preferential placement.
Been won over for awhile. I enjoy the fact your writing is both engaging and fun. I find that a lot of DMs tend to only be good at one or the other. I feel like a lot of games are way too serious and if you try to have a little fun the community goes all sanctimonious and calls foul for bad roleplaying.
Also I really appreciate the narrative itself, you have a good way with words and it brings the story to life. In a play by post campaign the sophistication that people bring to their posts really makes a big difference. In that regard I think everyone has really enjoyable posts on this campaign.
About Runelords, I actually ran that game to completion 4 years ago. It's a great adventure path, maybe the most well-rounded campaign paizo has created. I'd love to play it as a character and I'm planning to run it again in-person next year here in Korea with my group.
Since I have played it before, I would understand if you wanted to pick someone else as a player. Still I'm good about not cheating and staying in-character and I'd really like to see how someone else tells the same story.
I've got infinite characters on the back burner but I'm currently into playing characters with vulnerabilities in terms of having family as dependents. I was thinking of a young farm boy whose father just died, leaving the farm and the fate of his mother and siblings in his hands. Adventuring would be his way of supporting his family. In terms of the roleplaying aspect I am toying with the idea that his father was a stern/puritanical patriarch whose constant reprimands haunt the protagonist from beyond the grave. Otherwise he's a wide-eyed youth with little practical experience outside of farm work. Maybe he was raised to be a paladin of Erastil, a fighter, or a ranger to protect their land. I always pick the class last.
I also have an unending supply of character ideas, some extremely tweaky and very basic. Since I've always wanted to try RotRL, I may make a submission for that too...
I think yet another RotR game I managed to get into has ended. Seriously, I have never managed to get much farther than the goblins attacking the festival and then something always happens.
Sorry to hear that the game shut down. I guess that most do. Most games in person do the same. I'm proud of my group in Korea because we're good about consistency and finishing campaigns.
Lorelei feel free to get in on this intertwined character building. I was working on the above character but I like making new characters like fat kids like cake so anything is cool with me.
In my experience families make great teams. Father-son, siblings, twins, etc. the traveling varisian family that scooby doo style solves mysteries. I've seen a really simple father-son team that was great and they didn't have individually great characters really. Just the fact that one character started every other sentence "hey dad" really made the characters.
Some other ideas, the lawful character that reigns in his barbarian friend. Acolytes of the same faith, a cleric, paladin and reformed convict rogue or monk (that can get pretty sanctimonious if you aren't careful though). That one only really works if everyone understands the deity well. Just spit balling
