Paizo Customers,
Thank you for the kind words these last few days, and for the overwhelming support of our product and our Open Gaming Sale. It has been a critical hit.
Our warehouse was inundated with multiple weeks' worth of orders. We have brought in additional hands to help with shipping, and are working overtime to connect you to your new Pathfinder and Starfinder print products as quickly as possible. We apologize for longer than normal ship times as we work through the queue.
Additionally, we have run through what was an 8-month supply of our Pathfinder Core Rulebook in the last 2 weeks, and demand on our Beginner Boxes is surging as well, along with other titles. We have already ordered another print run of the hardcover Core Rulebook, which will arrive in mid-April. In the interim, we have some supply of the Pocket Edition still available.
Edit: We have sold out of Pathfinder Core Rulebook Pocket Editions.
Happily, Pathfinder exists in many forms. See links below.
Pathfinder Core Rulebook Hardcover & PDF
Pathfinder Core Rulebook Pocket Edition
Pathfinder Core Rulebook on Pathfinder Nexus
Pathfinder Core Rulebook on Fantasy Grounds
Pathfinder Core Rulebook on Roll20
Pathfinder Beginner Box
Pathfinder Beginner Box PDF
Pathfinder Beginner Box (Foundry VTT) Bundle
Pathfinder Beginner Box (Foundry VTT) CODE
Pathfinder Beginner Box on Fantasy Grounds
And don't forget, all the rules are free on Archives of Nethys, along with their Player’s Guide.
Thanks for playing Pathfinder!

Luckily they won't run out of the PDF
Maybe make a subscription for the Core Rule book again so people waiting for it can get the PDF with it while they wait.
Points the ORC hoard to the stack of Starfinder books to pillage as well!
An evergreen “start Subscription with Core Rulebook” option would be neat.

As someone who subbed to the rulebook subscription just the other day, will I need to wait for April before I get even the PDF of the core rulebook?
My brother is starting a campaign next month and I was hoping to have a physical copy on-hand to refer to as a new player, but a PDF on a large tablet was my second option.
Will I need to *borrow* someone else's PDF just to tide me over?

Unless there has been an unannounced change to how subscriptions work, the Core Rulebook will not be a 'subscription' purchase.
Your 'rulebook subscription' will start with the "Pathfinder Treasure Vault" release in mid-February. You may have been offered the option to have it start with "Dark Archive" which was released last summer. If you choose "Dark Archive" as your starting product, you should see that shipped fairly shortly.
But in either case, the Core Rulebook will not be a subscription item and you will not get a free PDF when it ships.
Free PDFs are a benefit that is only available if you are a subscriber at the time the product is released. If you subscribe at a later date, you will not get earlier products as part of that subscription and thus not get free PDFs if you buy them.
While waiting for your physical copy to ship, you may want to take advantage of the official free rules site, Archives of Nethys.
Additionally, if you want a PDF of the Core Rulebook, you can purchase that and it will be added to your digital assets immediately.

I am very excited to learn how to play Pathfinder 2e and I am very patiently awaiting my order but I did have a question for a point of clarity... any idea how long a non-mint copy of the Core Rulebook could potentially take to reach the point where it gets shipped? I ordered a beginner's box, a non-mint core rulebook, and a Dungeon Mastery guide in hardcover. I know that orders are very backed up and I am willing to wait as the change was triggered by everything going on. I am really happy for you all that you managed to sell out so fast!
Thanks in advance,
Balthizar, Forever DM 2eAD&D and soon pathfinder 2e!

There is no "dashboard" for me to look at to answer your question. If I can get a report from the warehouse, that can be shared externally, I will reply.

Thank you! I was just curious as I have a group of players waiting on me for our next session, and I am waiting on these books I honestly have no problem waiting and was by no means trying to be pushy. This extended time between sessions has been highly productive as I have been able to try writing an adventure setting of my own! I always have home-brewed content; But never to this scale. I have just been so overwhelmingly inspired by what I have seen at Pazio and other third-party creators that I have mustered the confidence to pursue a passion project of my own

Curious - does the inventory issues affect orders already placed before this announcement?
i.e. I have an order from 1/14 that included the core rule book (and beginner box) and since it is close to the 20 day mark, I was wondering if that shipment might be delayed until the restock or if there was enough for the earlier orders.

I'd assume that all orders made before the announcement are fine. I placed my order the exact day the sale went live and I JUST got my book today, almost 3 weeks later. I made a separate order just a week later that has yet to ship, so it'll just be a while

Right. My understanding, without looking at your cases specifically, is that if we had inventory at the time you placed the order, it is reserve and the warehouse is shipping. To my knowledge, we have not "oversold" like an airline.

Apparently my Core Rule Book and Beginners box were split out from my original order (37194412) and turned into a new one for the first of my subscriptions. This created a new one (37194420) that is now showing up as product not in stock. I guess that moved me out of my place in line. As far as I can tell, now I won't get the items or the subscriptions.
/sigh had I known I wouldn't have signed up for the subscriptions.

Im not sure if things have changed, but in "the old days" situations like yours were fine - your copy is set aside for when your subscription ships to save you postage so if they go out of stock thats for new orders, not for pending, sidecarted orders.
So I wouldnt despair yet.
(The "out of stock/backorder" flag is a long running display glitch that can cause confusion. Your copy should be fine - but if you order a second book there'll be a delay).

I'm also having an issue with an order (#37265628) that was placed on 1/20...at time of order, and acknowledgement I received, it indicated ALL items were instock and would ship in 11-20 days. We're now at 42 days, three (3) emails to customer service, and no responses whatsoever. Not even the courtesy of acknowledging my inquiry for a status update. I understand the situation with the run on products, but at the least can someone communicate something? Per this thread, my order should have been earmarked as it was nearly a week prior to the announcement of the shortage...my account shows all the other books as in stock, but appears to be holding the whole thing due to the Core Rules (Pocket edition). As mentioned, I've inquired three times with customer service (even got a ticket number for it), but have gotten nothing but silence. A call got me an automated message advising no one is in the office and can't take calls, please email for an expedient response...I don't even know if I'm going to get the items and basically it seems the system is set up so you can't even contact anyone. Very much want to play PF2, but this experience is souring me rather quickly. Sort of a longshot posting here, but hoping that maybe someone can, at the least, give me an update?

Good morning, I'm having a similar issue with multiple customer service emails not being responded to about Order 37297508.
I purchased a couple of books on Jan 27, and have seen the pocket core rulebook on backorder, holding up the entire order.
I've requested that the entirety of the order (6 books) be shipped OTHER than the backordered pocket core rulebook. I stated in my email that I am happy to pay the additional shipping cost, which should resolve any fears Paizo may have of shipping costs for my order.
I understand the company is overwhelmed with orders and warehouse work, but my latest email went out on Feb 22nd with zero response from customer service.
I'm removing all preconceived roadblocks from this being a financial problem (for the company) with paying the additional shipping at zero cost to Paizo. I gave specific permission for this to happen in my customer service email (latest support ticket ID is 185096). My order shows you have the other 6 books in stock, so if you could have someone at least communicate with me about the situation I would be appreciative.
Thank you in advance! You are super appreciated.

For those that PM'ed me, thank you for asking, but no I still haven't gotten any sort of response from Paizo.
I figured because I posted on Sat,(not being unreasonable) I'd wait a couple of days. Monday came and went, we shall see what Tuesday brings - but I am a little surprised the drought of contact continues.
I happen to work in the IT field, and I have to be upfront, if I ignored a customer for as long as Paizo has, I'd likely be shown the door by my boss. Quickest way to lose business (and repeat business) is to ignore the customer.
Not sure what is going on with customer service just not responding at all, but I have faith that at some point someone at the company will make a modicum of effort - or they won't - and I'll have to figure out my next steps.
Not throwing in the towel yet, but here's to hoping something will move. Would rather not cancel my order because I'd like to actually have the entire slew of books I ordered.

I got a response from customer service! Huzzah!
Just dropping a line to follow up on the other two posts I had made.
It was what was expected, lots of product being worked, few people, a lot of business, etc. But - the kind Customer service agent addressed my numerous ignored emails and was very thoughtful about trying to make things right.
So, to all that are still working on the wait times, it appears there are things in motion!
