A little section of the Book of the Dead for GMs, which included advice for running ghost stories, and several pages of haunts, was one of my unsung favorite portions of Book of the Dead. I create almost as many scenarios as I adapt for my table, so I love having a wide variety of tools to pull from to create interesting architectural and environmental features and unique events tied to them. Haunts themselves are interesting partly because they are a place where the Ethereal Plane and Material Plane have overlapped a little, changing the way the latter looks, behaves and feels. I'd like for Rage of Elements to approach the planes in a similar fashion – treat this not only as a book that explores the planes themselves, but also explores how those planes interact with the material world, where most adventuring parties are going to be adventuring. I'd like to see new, interesting hazards with elements behaving in weird ways, modular tools for designing memorable elemental puzzles and trials in dungeon rooms, and advice for creating unique elemental environments (which should probably be different from strictly natural environments).
I'm a sucker for old RPG style element-themed dungeons and temples and levels and the like. So, much as I'm excited to explore the planes themselves again, I hope we get some GM-facing material for use on Golarion itself. We've visited the elemental planes twice already (in Planes of Power and Planar Adventures), and I think this would be a fun new way to approach the subject again, that hasn't been explored as much.

Assuming they do go ahead with letting the Elemental Lords out to avoid rehashing the Ranginori plotline, I'd love a look at their followers - especially Atreia, whose purification-focused outlook would be awesome for a character in the Sarkoris Scar.
OH yeah! The moment I saw info on Atreia I was like "Can we free them next please, they are SO cool! Metaphorically!"

Similarly I'm kind of pulling for the elemental lords of the Plane of Metal to be a gestalt of the foremost elemental for each given metal, a bit like the Godmind from Axis.
The great alloy in the sky? I think that's a really cool idea with the properties of metals that way.
I'm wondering if this book will expand on the geniekin heritages at all, considering their association to the elemental planes. (Are there metal/wood genies?).

IIRC we are going to be getting metal and wood-themed genies, as well as new geniekin.

Elemental oracle mysteries! Why obly fire and lightning? Let me get an ice or acid curse.
YES! Like I said earlier in this very thread, I really, REALLY miss the Boreal mystery from 1e...

Something that came to mind, an archetype for each element that could have options for both martials and casters. To add some elemental flares to characters. I think I would ideally see it as an archetype for each element. But if they need to make it one archetype with variables for like page space I would understand.

Think we'll see new Genies and planar scions for wood and metal? I'd be down.
Frankly I'd be disappointed if we didn't! The item teased in the kineticist playtest analysis already seems to hint at metal genies (zuhras, with a title of damaj for higher-end ones), along with the metal planar language of Talican - both of which would very naturally lend themselves to a metal geniekin versatile heritage entry, I think.

Trying not to get too wishlisty, myself. Excited for the product page to go up so it will be a little safer to speculate. Elemental stuff has always been my favorite, there are so many class options that could fit that they couldn't all fit in one book. Especially when said book has to have monsters and lore taking up a good chunk, maybe even most of the book.

Seconded. This would make me very happy.

At this point, I'd love one spell per level for each element... and filling the blanks.
Also, a spellstrike-eligible cantrip related to electricity, metal, wood and sound. I know that there's a feat to allow pretty much every other spell to be used, but still.
Finally, could they expand on existing spells? Because Elemental Toss dealing more damage type and be eligible to more classes with be welcomed.

But if a necro, but the product page for the book is now out. Probably best to temper expectations, the only things confirmed to be in it are kineticist, an elemental bestiary, new spells and items.
Luis confirmed Metal and Wood Geniekin during his Reddit AMA, so that's worth expecting!

On this page, it says July 2023. If I'm looking at the wrong page, that's fine, but Paizo is gonna need to fix that.
It certainly isn't the most intuitive page but how it should be read is:
The preordering is expected in July 2023, the product (in the product availability lower down on the page) is saying that the product is releasing August 3rd.

As much acid related stuff as possible, and as little fire and lightning related stuff as possible. At this point we got 2 different fire themed subclasses for sorcerer and oracle while there isn't even a single reliable acid focus spell besides dragons breath. Fire and lightning get universally awesome spells from 1-20, while I wouldn't take a single acid spell on a spontaneous caster before I can cast lv7 spells.
Elemental cantrips on the same power level as electric arc and scatter scree. It's just kinda boring when all casters in the party deal lightning damage most of the time because other damage cantrips are either situational or just bad.

More cold options are also very welcome, but at least cold gets a good cantrip, themed subclasses and unique focus spells. There aren't enough ice spells, but most of the ones that exist are at least good. There is no acid AoE blast nearly as good as cone of cold or even just chilling spray. You can play a winter witch, prepare mostly thematic cold spells and be effective, while there is absolutely no such option for acid.

hope the elemental lords get stats! especially cause of that cover!
I wouldn't push your expectations too high, unfortunately. Assuming that Elemental Lords are the same power-wise that they were in PF1E they should be in the CR 26-30 range, and as of yet we haven't seen any stats for creatures that high a level because they fall outside of the extreme threat encounter budget.
I'd love to be wrong, I enjoy BIG NUMBER on monsters, but I'm not expecting them to be statted up until/if we get mythic level rules.

With word that the Elemental Lords are getting full treatments in this, I'm excited for the chance to make a devotee of Atreia sometime. A character devoted to purifying fire has been on my to-do list since 4e Dark Sun came out, and the vision of bringing the triple-headed ibis as a symbol of cleansing to somewhere like the Sarkoris Scar is exactly my jam.
What Clerics and Champions (or non-divine followers) are you thinking about for these primal divinities?

pixierose |

playing a midwife who is a champion or cleric of Sairazul would be really cool. Calling upon the power of the earth to protect your wards
A worshiper of Atreia would also be really cool.
If there is a wood elemental lord it would be really interesting in seeing what they are like.
