I think Monkey Santa might be catching on that I lied to him about my book's plot...

This is going to cost me, isn't it?

It would have been a tad bit of extra work but maybe you could show him a doctored manuscript that the editors "turned down" where you had every intention of making a monkey the last minute hero.

Or remind him that COVID-19 is "very likely" transmittable between humans and monkeys, and that it'd be in his own self-interest to avoid physically touching you.

Hopefully he doesn't have access to ranged weapons or polearms.

He's a monkey.

By definition he produces his own ranged weapons.

OH yeah. You're screwed in big trouble.

:)

He said he gave the book five flings.

I don't know what that means.

"Not my problem," he said. "I'm a book reviewer, not a book review explainer."

Ha! Awesome name!

How's everybody hanging in there today?

Asthma kicking in more of late. Coughing in public makes me feel like I'm going to be summarily shot before I "turn into one of them!"

I hear you. I have wicked seasonal allergies. It is the Pollening right now. I walked into the store the other day and nearly blew the top of my skull off suppressing an epic sneeze in the produce section.

EDIT: Oh, and I meant to mention... if anyone is looking for 10 minutes a day of read-aloud for kids (or yourself, no judgment here), I'm reading a chapter a day from my book on the Facebook author page. I don't think you even need a FB account to access it.

Likewise on the allergy/coughing front. I'm really hoping that's all it is, especially after a morning full of yardwork, rather than actually getting sick.

Things for me are pretty much the same as every day, really. No longer being able to work I sit on my tuckus all day long in front of my computer. Same as it ever was...same as it ever was.

Can't you just wear your new suit, I doubt anyone would f%%+ with you, especially if you're packing heat.

Cap is almost utterly convinced that I am, in fact, Everlast.

My glasses are better.

SPEAKING Of glasses,...

I wear two pairs, both bifocals, (Hey, I stare into theater lights for a living, what did you expect?!?) ;P

My 'main' pair are 2 years old, and my 'desk/PC' pair are 4 years out of date. (Long enough that both eyes used to be far sighted, and now at least 1 is near sighted) :P
So I went and got an eye exam and paid for 2 new pairs of glasses,...

they were supposed to be in LAST week, they were delayed, still not in as of Monday morning, and NOW the mall is closing, so the best I can do is maybe convince Lenscrafeters to hand them to me out of the back door. :)
WHEN they finally get here! ;P

Cant wait to get new (correct) glasses. Its been so long, it will be delightful.

I dunno... seems like not being able to see what's happening could be a bonus right now... like the danger-sensing sunglasses in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy :p

If you know where your towel is, you are too hoopy a frood to need those! :)

Whoa, love that song. Thanks for the intro to Everlast.

He's new to me!

Check out his recent acoustic jams he did in his house, it's amazing!

The linked song sounds like Santana visits Compton and decides to see "Stand By Me" while there.

Also, let's not forget the national treasure that is Killer Mike.

Everlast's first song, from twenty years ago or so.

I plan on aging like him.

And of course, Run The Jewels, another bright spot in hip hop.

A Rock n roll song for Cal.

A hip hop song turned into a rock song.

I feel I owe you an intro to a quality musical act. Are you familiar with Juicy Karkass? {Not sure where the video went :( }

I was not, they're good!

I think this one's earlier. Granted, it's not solo work...

Yes, I meant solo work. I of course knew he was in House of Pain.

Oh, I've heard a ton of his work, I just didn't know who he was.

Just found out I don't get to quarantine because my company does taxes and is therefore considered essential.

Yaaaaaaay.

Well, crap. I'm sorry to hear that.

Continuing to get a paycheck is nice, at least. But I'm not sure it's worth the continued risk of exposure. We'll see, I guess.

Of course it's essential. The government collecting its just due from the slaves citizenry is the most essential thing there is.

I thought it was odd you'd never heard him before, that makes more sense.

Updated acoustic version!

And yes, I'm 99% certain him and Vanykrye are one and the same (you'll notice you never see them in the same room together, just saying!).

Well, we're corporate taxes rather than personal, and at that primarily specialized in non profits and churches and other religious organizations, so I'm kinda okay with it.

Just the whole thing is currently a health hazard.
