Once more, it is World Penguin Day.
On this day we don tuxedos and offer up herring to placate the World Penguin. As the ancient prophecies warn, unless yearly fed, the World Penguin will rise from Antarctic ice and waddle across the lands of humanity adorably crushing all in its path.
You know.

Just in case anyone needs a fix of new music, dropped today!
Well, I checked it out. And no offense, but I couldn't listen to it for more than a minute. Just not my thing. Now get off my lawn!

Yeah,...
Sorry CY, but I'm with DC on this one.
Once he opened his mouth I was done. ;P
Buuut whatta I know? I spent the entire 80's listening to Christian Rock music.
I had to go back and re-discover that there was, indeed, great music hidden in between all of the acid-death-funk-rock-metal-bands. ;P
So YOU do you! :)
(EDIT)- Now get offa MY lawn! O_o

Cal, how about this instead?
I don't normally gravitate to this style but that was amazing! Thanks! (You can stay on my lawn).

I didn't listen to much Christian rock when I was younger. I had nothing against it, but most of it seemed to lack the ability to give the release other types of hard rock and metal did. I do still have a couple of Stryper LPs on vinyl (one of which is white instead of the usual black record). There was a band called Barren Cross that was heavier than Stryper but the music store where I bought most of my albums could never seem to get its hands on one for me. Also, Ronnie James Dio sang on two of Kerry Livgren's Christian rock songs when Livgren left the band he helped found (Kansas). I think this was between the time when Dio was out of Rainbow and just before he joined Black Sabbath. They're actually pretty good songs but musically they didn't age well, full of synth strings and horns. They sound very dated when you listen to them now.
Interesting anecdote: I recall reading a long time ago that on Stryper's first big tour across America they opened for Slayer several times. At the end of the shows, they would toss small Bibles into the audience. By all accounts, they were always well-received by the crowds which a lot of rock journalists could never seem to wrap their heads around.

Last day of work is May 8. Packing the car that weekend and leaving some time midday on Sunday May 10. Booked a hotel at a halfway point in Columbia, MO. Arriving probably a bit after noon at Scint's place Monday the 11th.
Taking the last load of pre-sorted belongings to goodwill today on my lunch break. Hopefully everything else will fit in the car with some finagling, otherwise will need to ditch some stuff I'd rather keep, mostly books.
Think I'm about as ready to leave as I can be.

Day so far:
Woke up before alarm.
Called both contractor and home warranty company about a work order, finally managed after 3 days to get an appointment scheduled for next week to fix my washer and dryer.
Made banana bread.
Got on biweekly check-in with homeroom. Used the magic of MSPaint and walked kiddo through FOIL after they lost the link to their teacher's video. Simultaneously demonstrated that writing with a mouse makes my handwriting into eldritch scribbles of Far Realm power.
Got straggler reflection paragraphs to Tinker v. Des Moines looked over and popped into gradebook.
Noted grass is already needing another round with the wheely guillotine. Beginning to miss my days of not having a yard.
It's not even 10.
