I'm the opposite of a killer GM.
I want my PCs to win.
As a GM, I regularly fudge rolls... but exclusively in the PCs' favor.
Unless the player does something actively stupid, or a PC death would be dramatically perfect in the narrative, I am extremnely reluctant to kill a PC... and pretty much don't.
You sound like my kind of GM.
The GMs I play with are pretty much all reluctant to kill PCs. We're usually involved in a campaign in which it would be very difficult or awkward to introduce a new character if someone suffered perma-death, and in addition we all tend to be very attached to our characters and would react emotionally to the loss. So the GMs nerf monsters sometimes, and fudge rolls sometimes, and we have a house rule that if someone can get to a dying PC with any cure potion/spell within the same round that the PC technically died then they can be saved, because the soul hasn't yet left the body even if the body has stopped breathing. One GM rules that a character saved from death in this way is exhausted for the next 24 hours and fatigued after that unless someone uses a lesser restoration spell on the near-death PC, so it isn't without impact - the PC doesn't just hop back up again and rejoin the combat. That same GM rules that critical wounds and especially wounds that nearly cause death also leave a noticeable scar.
That house rule not only allows us to keep playing the characters we love, it makes us watch out for each other and act more cohesively to keep each other safe because our characters don't feel disposable to us.

Clearly the aspirant has discovered the paradox of life. That for each good thing that enters a life, a bad thing also enters. However, realizing on average that this is life, is a step towards enlightenment, and failing to realize the careful balance they live within is a recipe for failure.
Failure... which is really success?

I haven't had the time or the other people needed to play in or run a game in over two years. That being said, I can't stop buying Pathfinder books even though I can't actually use them. I have several AP's, several dozen of the Campaign Setting and Player Companions, and pretty much all of the RPG line up to Bestiary 6. I think I'm addicted to Paizo products.

As I said above: That just seems practical ;)

1) I have been a roleplayer for 10 years before I started playing tabletop RPGs.
2) My first character was an anthropomorphic cerberus with four arms and three heads. She was a fighter using Thri-kreen statistics in 4th Edition and then became a magus with a custom race when we switched to Pathfinder. I already made this character in other games and was interested to see how exotic of a character TTRPGs could support.
3) One of my friends paid a really skilled artist to draw the above character without my knowing.
4) I curb a bad habit by rewarding myself with weekly boxes of Pathfinder Battles miniatures.
5) I have a large collection of Dragon Ball Z CCG cards I had for ages. I don't have the heart to sell them even though:
A) The game has been out of print for close to a decade.
B) There have been tons of new games made since then.
C) There's a surprisingly good market for buying and selling cards from this game.
6) I paid almost $200 on Pathfinder Adventure Card Game products (I have a weakness for class decks). Unfortunately, none of my friends like the game enough to play it with me. Yet, I still find myself pre-ordering the magus deck...
7) I got into miniature painting specifically to paint a single miniature I really wanted to use for Starfinder's premiere at GenCon.
8) One of my friends created a special artifact in his campaign for no other reason than to tickle one of my juvenile fancies.
9) I created an NPC ratfolk summoner whose eidolon is an amazonian foxy warrioress in bikini mail. When the eidolon explained that the summoner worked for a corrupt lawman to atone for his sins, one of the PCs remarked "I'm pretty sure you are his sin."

I'm Dming In a newly founded group and I basically improvised 90% of the things that have happened. For quick inspiration I use the memories of adventures I've read but have never Gm'ed/played, books, movies, and videogames (it's easy to quickly build locations in a city after playing baldurs gate 2 for the nth time).

No, no, don't work on your poker face. Play it up. Chuckle evilly at every action they take. Sigh when they defeat your villain.
...And *then* reveal they were fighting a body double and the *real* villain is fresh now that they've blown all their good spells on the fake villain! Bwahahahaha!!!
Okay, maybe don't do that.

Since I stabbed myself in the forehead I had to do something to keep from unconsciously touching the stitches in my sleep. So now when I sleep one hand unconsciously strokes my goatee and the other sticks itself into my boxers.

Oh yes, it's been quite a while since that happened and i healed up quite nicely, just try telling that to my hands.

Already done that (no joke--it's part of the campaign). I could have the second one also be a body double, but now I'm getting in to matryoshka doll villain territory and eventually they'd just flip the table on me.
I'm a pretty manipulative GM (the gaming table the only place I let out my inherent, otherwise-uncontrollable sociopathy), so now that I know that they know that I have a tell, I can course correct to continue my psychological brutalization of my friends.
What? Is there some OTHER reason to game?

Not according to my GM (who just happens to be my little brother...may have something we need to work out there)

Ok, I gotta know how you stabbed yourself in the forehead. I've had some odd self inflicted wounds before, but not that.

With Reaper Bones IV in progress I have to contemplate my minis. I have 100's of pewter and 1000's of plastic (thanks to bones KS). Do I go again? The Chronoscope line says, "yes, you go again."
The ol lady is not pleased since when it comes time to play at the table I say screw it and just use PF pawns anyways......

This is my favorite picture he drew of her. That character was really fun to play. The GM liked her backstory enough that he structured the campaign around it and made her enemies the Big Bads.

Well, yeah, because it's a matter of scope and scale.
Utilitarian: Okay, have these minis, they're set, okay, time to play.
Artisanal: Okay, have these minis, they're set, now I never want my precious babies to get mauled by some ignorant ruffian or random feline!

Ascension, Revised, circa 2000.
(I'm not serious, but there are some people out there who take it seriously enough to have sent me death threats.)
O_o
Whaaa....
Please tell me that you're at least one of the writers for the game. You shouldn't be getting death threats in any case, but at least if you're a writer for the game your name would see enough exposure that some nut job with too high an opinion of their own ideas would get upset about something as harmless as a game.

Lucerne Hammer: This polearm has both a pronged hammer head for crushing blows and a spiked head for piercing and peeling armor; most attacks are made with the hammer. The long haft allows the wielder to put amazing force behind the head of this weapon. You gain a +2 bonus to your CMB to sunder medium or heavy armor with a lucerne hammer.
Seems legit!

Long story. Short version, White Wolf decided to do Revised editions of the World of Darkness games, I was instructed to do a revised version of Mage (or find another job) and the former developer was pushed out, some corners of the internet decided they didn't like the direction I took. Among older fans the "Mage edition wars" are internet famous. Also, in certain parts of the 'net if you post anything positive about any of my work (not just Mage) you can expect people to show up and make angry comments within about 15 minutes.

Lesse here,
1) I have a bit of a problem with kobolds. Something about their small, dragony goodness makes me want to give them all a hug.
2) I can't seem to be a serious player. As serious and grim as I am behind the GM screen, it all flies out the window when I play.
3) I have Fashion Souls syndrome, where I only care if my character looks/feels right and not about how effective they are.

Its no skin of my back either, I've got no problem with Starfinder...
Its just between Star Wars, the 40K Trilogy (Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader and Deathwatch), Numenera, Eclipse Phase and to a lesser extent ShadowRun...
Well lets say that, I could wait a year or more, to add another "Sci-Fi" system to the collection ^^'.
