The word "mouse" comes from an Indo-European root that refers both to the rodent and the bicep. I have a number of speculations about why this might be so, if you've got a moment...
So, who here watches Isaac Arthur?

Tacticslion wrote: So, who here watches Isaac Arthur? NewXToa wrote: I've never heard of him. What does he do? He creates YouTube content based on futurism and theoretical possible futures for humanity.
It's actually really cool - he uses mostly modern/current scientific understanding (so, ignoring most "sci-fi" stuff) and projecting how, exactly, that leads to potential sci-fi-like future.
So, for example, he explains the ideas on how to create Dyson Swarms, why you'd want to, and how we can start now-ish without much more than we've currently got (and with things we're pretty sure are possible, but just aren't certain if they're feasible).
BAM
He is often accused of being overly optimistic, but I find it pretty great and extremely well-thought-out.
Although I'd kind of absorbed several things a random "this video/that video" way, I've started over and am going through a seriously "progress by topic" style, by starting with FTL, then Habitable Planet, Mega Structures, Fermi Paradox, and Visions of Earth; I am about to start Dark Matter, Energy, and Flow, soon. I've seen a smattering of the videos throughout, but I find each one worth watching again, later, even if it requires multiple "sit downs" to get through a particular video.
