Courageous weapon also got nerfed.
Edit - as did ring of ferocious action, but it's still pretty good.
Edit Edit - as did Staff of the Master
Edit Edit Edit - as did Quick Runner's Shirt
Edit Edit Edit Edit - Bracers of Falcon's Aim and Snapleaf also got nerfed.
I really love these changes. All of the above items were too good for their price.

Is it that time of the year again? Alright lets see what Paizo thinks is errata this year. First impressions:
Owls, sleighs, and Dwarven Shout doubled in price
Halfling Trail Rations now cost 20x what they were
Hireling and inn stay prices plummeted
Casting Plaster now requires an insane DC 25 craft check putting it on par with advanced firearms
Brawling armor, Ring of Inner Fortitude, staff of the master, quick runner's shirt, feather step slippers, tremor boots, gloves of recon, cap of free thinker, jingasa, bracers of falcon's aim, and goblin fire drum all got tossed into the useless bin. At least Horn of Shattering got a buff, right?
Yay more examples of Paizo only seemingly having only settings of either "way too good" or "nerfed into the ground". Sigh I really wish they would realize that a middle ground exists. Overall not as bad as last years, but another one that I'll be ignoring.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't take the opportunity to clear up the shield entries having "armor spikes".
But the new entries for spiked shields are now completly independent and so can fully benefit from the bashing enchantment. These no longer count as one size larger, but are weapons in their own right.

They gutted so many items and yet they did a HUGE buff to amulet of mighty fists?
Amulet of Mighty Fists did not receive any change. The UE errata just puts it in line with the changes to the Amulet in the CRB errata. The 2000/8000/18000/etc. costs are the crafting costs. It's still slightly less than double a regular magic weapon.

Amulet of mighty fists is pretty expensive, but the price at least made sense. That item has been around since the core rulebook and has gone unchanged for nearly half a decade. Why change it now?
It's only 20% cheaper. I think you're confusing the change in the crafting price with the change in the buy price.

Bracers of Falcon's Aim is unbelievably bad now too. You need to use it every day for more than 250 adventuring days in order for it to be cost effective compared to a CL1 wand of aspect of the falcon and even then a wand has the added benefit of being usable multiple times per day.
So do feather step slippers now require an action to activate???
"Activating a magic item is a standard action unless the item description indicates otherwise" according to the PRD. So yeah.

I don't think there's a single thing in this errata I'm happy about.
Brawling Armor gets a massive price hike, making it basically inaccessible in many games. Amulet gets slightly cheaper to compensate.
Quick Runner's Shirt, Feather Step Slippers, and Bracers of Falcon's Aim not only get significantly weaker, they frigging salted the earth on Quick Runner's Shirt. The Shirt used to be a nice trick for special occasions when the party bruiser needed to get in close and wreck something's face once a day, but now the only time I imagine it's going to be used is for a caster to cast a spell and double-move, and even that's pretty thin. I don't see the Slippers getting a lot of use anymore if you have to burn actions during combat to use them, either. Jiangsha might've been a bit of a must-have before, but now it is similarly of very little use to anyone compared to the other items that give deflection bonuses.
I think the thing that infuriated me most reading this was the Sleeves of Many Garments alteration, because this is the Steadfast Personality of this batch of errata.
A completely arbitrary reduction in power of a harmless, fun little option that can in no way break the game. This is the silly little flavor item players have fun with, allowing their characters to always have a cool outfit for the occasion. In what possible world is using an item slot for a fun little bit of roleplay somehow so wrong it needed to be nerfed?
Y'know, at this point I'm conditioned to feel only a deep-seated dread when errata is released. Each one I've read has been bursting with changes I don't like and I can't even ignore a number of these decisions no matter how strongly I disagree with them because my group relies heavily on the PRD for reference.

Goblin Fire Drum still pumps up my long range fireball damage because the spell originates within 30 feet of me before flying out, right?

Well, you know, Pathfinder Society.

That's great, really, but I don't play in pathfinder society. None of my friends play in pathfinder society. We still don't get an option to reference the original, usually more sensible printings unless one of us owned a physical copy of the book they decided to change? That doesn't seem right. PFS has its own banlist, it should have its own rules document, too.

No, because they stills say to reference armor spikes (They do mean shield spikes right? Like I know they had the CHANCE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to fix this)
and shield spikes,Shield spikes turn a shield into a martial
piercing weapon and increase the damage dealt by a shield
bash as if the shield were designed for a creature one size
category larger (see “spiked light shield” and “spiked heavy
shield” on Table 1–5: Martial Weapons). You

Well I think they totally missed some good ability to do some errata to other things.
Like the Blind Man's Fold should give you blindfighting against foes you can see within 5 feet of you.
Boots of Springing and Striding should only function after wearing them for 24 hours, be usable once per day, and last a minute. Same thing with Boots of The Winterland.

You can argue intent, but it seems a pretty intentional change. Armor spikes aren't shield spikes, so that part doesn't apply anymore. The spiked shields from the book aren't even adjustments to a price anymore. They are now their own stand alone items, like a klar, but you can bash with it.
But if you do try to argue that armor spikes must mean shield spikes, then this would also have to apply to the klar, which means that you can transitively shield bash with a klar. So you could put bashing on a klar.

Yep. While about half of these items were underpriced, that means you should increase the price, not nerf them into uselessness.
Some of the nerfs would have been livable with free action activation. But it's like some of the PDT don't realize how enormously expensive a standard action activation is for a short-term effect.

All I want to know is *why* these nerfs (they are nerfs, don't try to pretend anything else) happened. Some of these changes are just absurd; the Bracer's of Falcon's Aim... Just why? For the same price, you get some 250+ uses from a wand. There is literally no reason ever to buy the bracers now. Isn't the point of magic items to give players the choice to find something good or cool to use? This change just made the bracers so worthless, nobody will ever use them again... S%*+, I wouldn't use them even if the GM gave them to me for free. I'd turn right around and sell it so I could get a wand of Aspect of the Falcon and something actually useful instead.
And what was wrong with the Jingasa? I mean, you didn't even change the most powerful ability it had, the crit negation. Making the AC bonus a deflection bonus was just a pointless nerf; the actual good part is still there, but now we just don't get that +1 bonus to AC anymore (because the vast majority will be going around with Rings of Deflection instead).
And the most annoying one... Quick Runners Shirt. As others have mentioned, this means the shirt is now almost worthless for a martial character, with a few niche uses for a spellcaster (who are already by far the most powerful characters and don't need more stuff). Just... Why? What about the shirt offended you so that you destroyed any useability it once had?
I'm going to be writing down the pre-errata versions of these items so that I can ignore this errata... It is just a huge nerf for no reason whatsoever.

You didn't read the document carefully enough.
They did change the Jingasa's crit negation effect. It now only works once ever, making the whole thing a 3000gp single use ability tacked on to a non-upgradeable hat of deflection.

I didn't even catch that the first time around. That is ridiculous. Now you are not likely to be crit more than once a day so that part is really good, and in my opinion is the main feature of the item. I would rather for them to raise the price and/or drop the AC bonus.

Heh. Like we needed another 24-"attument", overpriced 1/day item to not take ever. For 400 gold it'd be something of a consideration with the 24-hour limitation.

If you're not likely to be critically hit more than once per day, doesn't that effectively translate to immunity to critical hits? What's the appropriate price point for an item that provides that immunity without any real competition in its slot?
It doesn't really translate into immunity. What it does is make a character much less likely to get instagibbed by a lucky crit. Creatures which are tossing out half a dozen 17-20x2 attacks will still get their crits in, but it means that a character won't get blown away by a random 3x spear crit. That's what makes it so nice. It doesn't reduce the amount of incoming damage by that much, but when it does it could easily save a character's life.
