Using gender specific pronouns also makes determining the subject of a sentence in an ability or item description SIGNIFICANTLY LESS confusing. The use is the "He" or the "She", and the target or targets are always referred to as "It" or "They" (As a target can be ANYTHING)
Example. Say I'm talking about a sword:
The wielder can use her Strength modifier as a bonus to AC when parrying with the sword.
As opposed to:
The wielder can use its Strength modifier as a bonus to AC when parrying with the sword.
If I ever read the second example in an item's description, the first thing that would come to mind is, "What's the sword's Strength modifier?"
Since the item is an object and easier to identify as an "it", that can lead to confusion.
I feel like I'm explaining this more than I should be...
Anyway that's the way I've always seen it.
Typically I believe paizo products use the word 'their' in cases such as those, particularly with item descriptions as opposed to class features.

@Brigg
I know which item they're referring to, and they're actually referring to the use of multiple different pronouns, not one consistent one.My sincerest apologies if that's too specific and please delete if it is.
I'm beginning to think I may have misunderstood the context of the original post. For whatever reason, I wasn't aware that he was pointing out a specific item.
My bad. If we want to continue trying to figure out where my confusion came in, feel free to PM me, as we don't want to talk about specific items here.

Wow, slogging through some of the dregs, stopped short by two AMAZING little items.
This could actually take a few minutes.
EDIT: One guy got the spell school wrong. The other guy got the Caster Level wrong.
EDIT 2: Guy that got CL wrong is also missing a school from his aura.
EDIT 3: Voted for the guy that only got the school wrong, as everything else about the item and the template was spot-on!

Was going to call a snark cease fire from my personal cannon battery, then the racist item kept stalking me, seriously, stop it, I am not that kind of white guy!
Gave me time to think and decide themes this year are Lions, Storms, and Leather Gauntlets with Tubes. With the ever present Bards and Undead of course.
Hmm, I guess I've been lucky not to get a racist item (so far).
Or tubular gloves. (Definitely lots of all the other themes, though).

Mask vs. mask! Is this a mask-off?
Mask vs. Mask... I'll vote for the Mask.
They call me Cuban Pete. I'm the king of the rhumba beat.
When I play the maracas I go chick-chicky-boom, chick-chicky boomYes sir, I'm Cuban Pete. I'm the craze of my native street.
When I start to dance, everything goes chick-chicky-boom, chick-chicky boom
The senoritas they sing and how they swing with this rumbero,
It's very nice, so full of spice.
And when they're dancing they bring a happy ring the maraquero,
El maraquero singin' a song, all the day long.
Si, senorita I know that you would like to chicky-boom-chick
It's very nice, so full of spice.
I'll place my hand on your hip, and if you will just give me your hand
Then we shall try - just you and I. Aye-aye-aye!
So if you like the beat, take a lesson from Cuban Pete
And I'll teach you chick-chicky-boom, chick-chicky-boom, chick-chicky-boom!
Shake Your Booty, Daddy, Wow!
See ya!

I actually kinda like this item conceptually-- it's short and simple and clear-- but unfortunately the designer didn't take munchkinism into account, so it has a very large Bag-of-Cats type of flaw that would lead to abuse. Could have been easily fixed with a clause indicating the limited circumstances under which you can charge the item, too. Have a vote for now, designer-- it's a rookie mistake in terms of game balance, but I think you might be able to do better!

Bag of Cats?
Yeah, like:
"Every time this dagger is used to kill a living creature, it gains a charge; for every charge, the dagger gains a +1 bonus to a maximum of +5" -- as written, there is nothing to prevent a munchkinny adventurer from carrying around a bag of cats (or rats or frogs or crickets or anything else that qualifies as a small, non-threat, living creature), and killing them offhand just to keep the dagger charged as a +5 weapon.
This particular item does not require killing anything, but it's that sort of exploit: something that the designer intended to be an occasional thing, but, as written, there is nothing actually preventing you from having it as essentially a constant ability.
