Using gender specific pronouns also makes determining the subject of a sentence in an ability or item description SIGNIFICANTLY LESS confusing. The use is the "He" or the "She", and the target or targets are always referred to as "It" or "They" (As a target can be ANYTHING)
Example. Say I'm talking about a sword:
The wielder can use her Strength modifier as a bonus to AC when parrying with the sword.
As opposed to:
The wielder can use its Strength modifier as a bonus to AC when parrying with the sword.
If I ever read the second example in an item's description, the first thing that would come to mind is, "What's the sword's Strength modifier?"
Since the item is an object and easier to identify as an "it", that can lead to confusion.
I feel like I'm explaining this more than I should be...
Anyway that's the way I've always seen it. Typically I believe paizo products use the word 'their' in cases such as those, particularly with item descriptions as opposed to class features.
Tremble before my burning killing stick!
Seriously, some of these names...there's a wonderful book called a thesaurus that comes in handy for finding better words to describe things. First impressions are important, and the first thing that gets read of your entry is its name.

Item, I cannot wait to downvote you. By the skin of your teeth have you been better than the crap next to you all three times we've met.
@Brigg
I know which item they're referring to, and they're actually referring to the use of multiple different pronouns, not one consistent one.
My sincerest apologies if that's too specific and please delete if it is.

I'm beginning to think I may have misunderstood the context of the original post. For whatever reason, I wasn't aware that he was pointing out a specific item.
My bad. If we want to continue trying to figure out where my confusion came in, feel free to PM me, as we don't want to talk about specific items here.

One of my top 3 items vs an unformatted mess? Easy
Gave me time to think and decide themes this year are Lions, Storms, and Leather Gauntlets with Tubes. With the ever present Bards and Undead of course.
Was going to call a snark cease fire from my personal cannon battery, then the racist item kept stalking me, seriously, stop it, I am not that kind of white guy!
Wow, slogging through some of the dregs, stopped short by two AMAZING little items.
This could actually take a few minutes.
EDIT: One guy got the spell school wrong. The other guy got the Caster Level wrong.
EDIT 2: Guy that got CL wrong is also missing a school from his aura.
EDIT 3: Voted for the guy that only got the school wrong, as everything else about the item and the template was spot-on!

Aha! I have finally seen snark (somewhere within the last 1,460 posts!) which I truly believe is mine... though it sheds some light on a few other snark contenders as well...
HEY HEY I GOTS SNARK!

Hmm, I guess I've been lucky not to get a racist item (so far).
Or tubular gloves. (Definitely lots of all the other themes, though).
I'm getting really bad semantic saturation with the word 'runes'. Symbols and hieroglyphs running down blades, shafts, and across armor are also absurdly common.
I liked Witcher 3 too. Please stop.

The drugs for getting rid of snark have pretty serious side effects Rich, you may want a second doctors opinion.
Wait, what? How are those two things even connected? Do you seriously expect me to believe that item can do that?

I know I've seen 10 lightning themed items so far.
Per the fan compiled list there have been 5 items that start with the word "Storm" thus far.
At some points, I'm having to make my decision based on which item fills up my bingo card the least

You can't give that kind of status effect with no save, especially not that cheap.

When faced with two really bad options, I down-vote the one with the better formatting because I know the poor formatting will get the other one DQ'd sooner or later.
Does this make me a bad person?
I have joked about the summons union needing to be a thing, now, I am pretty sure I need to lead the summons in a strike demanding it.

Yes sir, I'm Cuban Pete. I'm the craze of my native street.
When I start to dance, everything goes chick-chicky-boom, chick-chicky boom
The senoritas they sing and how they swing with this rumbero,
It's very nice, so full of spice.
And when they're dancing they bring a happy ring the maraquero,
El maraquero singin' a song, all the day long.
Si, senorita I know that you would like to chicky-boom-chick

I'll place my hand on your hip, and if you will just give me your hand
Then we shall try - just you and I. Aye-aye-aye!

And I'll teach you chick-chicky-boom, chick-chicky-boom, chick-chicky-boom!

Oh, now I remember.
A lot of items that produce a concealing cloud of some sort. They tend to vary a lot mechanically and in theme, though. So they got that going for them.
taking a look post cull and ... ah good still plenty of blood items!
And I think we should call them Chulls just for fun.

and hey an item that will allow grandpa to chew his food again!
Ah pretty cool, I know it is just a Dr. Who rip off but I may vote for ....IT COSTS HOW MUCH!!!
I actually kinda like this item conceptually-- it's short and simple and clear-- but unfortunately the designer didn't take munchkinism into account, so it has a very large Bag-of-Cats type of flaw that would lead to abuse. Could have been easily fixed with a clause indicating the limited circumstances under which you can charge the item, too. Have a vote for now, designer-- it's a rookie mistake in terms of game balance, but I think you might be able to do better!

Same bloody item gets up voted again because it is against a rip off from a web comic. This is one lucky item.

Thunderfrog wrote: Bag of Cats? Yeah, like:
"Every time this dagger is used to kill a living creature, it gains a charge; for every charge, the dagger gains a +1 bonus to a maximum of +5" -- as written, there is nothing to prevent a munchkinny adventurer from carrying around a bag of cats (or rats or frogs or crickets or anything else that qualifies as a small, non-threat, living creature), and killing them offhand just to keep the dagger charged as a +5 weapon.
This particular item does not require killing anything, but it's that sort of exploit: something that the designer intended to be an occasional thing, but, as written, there is nothing actually preventing you from having it as essentially a constant ability.

Yea, as a general principle, I downvote items that are priced and presented as +1, then "when this uncommon thing that can totally be a common thing occurs" it's a +5 holy hand grenade.
