You know what, count me out. I'm sorry. I feel bad for how much work you might have put in to the story, Beernorg, but if you all recall, my hesitation towards PbP was it's slow turnover of gameplay. Out of six players who said they'd be down two months ago, we've had a full out flake, an individual missing in action with family stuff, and two players who only comment once a week at most, usually less. I'm not going to build my gameplay hopes up for what will amount to a post a week, and probably six months to get through a day of in-game time. Look at the time stamps of this discussion thread alone - which didn't even show up until a couple weeks after the initial idea was proposed. It's been six weeks of prep time! SIX WEEKS! A deadline was put up for over a week ago and promptly ignored by all. That is reflective of a mindset I just plain am not down with participating in. I'm sorry.

Yeah, for a PbP to really get off the ground you need a few things:
1.) A committed GM who can check in and post multiple times per day if necessary.
2.) A group of at least three committed players who can post once per day at minimum.
3.) Perhaps most importantly, rapid start off, lots of forward momentum. Most Recruitments for games last a week, maybe TWO tops if there's a lot of applicants or it started off as an Interest Check. Gameplay should start, if possible, the very same day everyone has finished their characters. Or, hell, BEFORE everyone has finished their characters, just put them in a scenario where no rolls need to be made.
Without all three, your game is probably doomed to flop early on.
As here, where sadly NONE of the three seem to be present (no offense to your Beernorg), the game is doomed to never get off the ground. Seen it before for very promising games, and I'll probably see it again.
