A two-day-belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!! :D
It was a great time here, with our youngest home from college for a few days and our oldest, his wife, and one of their cats joining us for a quick overnight stay. (The cat usually stays home with the others, but is on a medicated food right now so had to travel.)
After they went home on Friday, we accidentally hosted a college game night for the youngest and their friends. It started as a 3:00 pm executive board meeting of the tabletop RPG club, but then we accumulated three more TTRPG club members and game night was suddenly a go!
I turned in around 1:45 am, and I think the evening officially ended around 45 minutes after that, although I was mentally prepared to find them all still gathered around the table when I wandered out this morning at 9. :)

Once again I want to check in with all of you. Obviously I have been busy to let this group go. I find that my household has six holiday event, 5 of which we are hosting! Three still to go.
In addition to this, work is rather busy for me.
My Mom is currently in the hospital, though I'm hopeful things will be sorted out tomorrow or the next day.
WITH THAT IN MIND, I think I would like to propose a short pause here. Let's all come back here and do some heavy posting beginning January 2nd.
I do apologize. I think my mind will be ready for more RPGing as December wanes.

GM Quirk, Wishing you resilience and tranquility in dealing with all those stressful things. Like everything else, time and energy for RPGs ebb and flow. A return to the game on January 2nd sounds good to me.
Happy Holidays everyone!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you!
I wanted to let you all know that game play will begin here again on Friday evening, January 5th. You'll have all weekend to join in the posting. Following that, I plan on posting again Sunday or Monday night, then regularly after that. I'm really hoping to get things back on track so we can finish this game!

My work schedule has changed. For the next five weeks, I'll be unable to post generally after 3 PM (same time zone as New York City) on Monday through Thursday. I'll check games in the morning and make what posts I can.
Also, I may be traveling on April 6-9. I should have some access to Wifi and a laptop, but if a post is needed in this period, please
'bot my character. It's possible the trip will not happen, in which case I'll let you know. (I'm hoping to see the total solar eclipse on April 8 in Ohio, USA.)

I'm back from my eclipse trip (mission accomplished!). It will take some time to get caught up but should be able to resume posting when things pick up here.

Thak's skills are:
BAB +2
Acrobatics +6
Bluff +10+1d6 expertise
Computers +5
Diplomacy +13
Intimidate +10
Piloting +6 (1 rank)
Best at Captain.
Passable at Chief Mate or Science.
Better than nothing (but only barely) at Gunner.

With just four PCs, we pretty much need someone at Piloting, Science Officer, Engineer, and gunner.
Thak is the only one with ranks in Piloting.
Duncan would be the only one with ranks in Computers so he would have to be science officer.
Which would put Augrok at Engineering and Yoromishtelli as the gunner.
Bare bones, but it would cover all the bases.
The science officer is most important on the first round for scanning the enemy ship to learn what can be learned about its capabilities. After that Duncan could shift to engineering to allow Augrok to move to gunner. And we could dispense with engineering as long as we have taken no serious damage to the shields, so Augrok could start at the second gunner port and Duncan could cover Engineering or Science Officer, whichever is needed more.
We have enough weapons that we should be able to get two attacks each round, one from the turret and the other from which ever gun port can target the enemy.

There you go, being all logical-like. :)
Great analysis. I appreciate the insight..
That sounds like the most reasonable approach.

Hi all! Good news! I have another player joining this group. I have played with this person in two other games (one is just ending now, and the other is a long-running Threefold Conspiracy game we're smack dab in the middle of.
The name of this character is Locket, and he is another pahtra. We're still sorting out how he has arrived from the Pact Worlds to this corner of the galaxy.
I apologize for this delay. I do think this game will be more fun with a 5th player.
Everyone sit tight.
