With season 2 featuring the Justice Society I might be reeled back in - provided they can tone the stupids down. I left feeling that the amount of plot induced stupidity required for one episode if Legends was the same needed for 2 episodes of Flash AND Arrow. I can understand a little, but when I start to question the base competence of every cast member it's too much.

Well their stupid was explained by the occulus and the time masters manipulating them.

Legendary sci-fi actor Lance Henriksen to play JSA hero in Legends of Tomorrow
Not the role I would have expected....

Thomas Seitz |

Grey,
Maybe but I see him more as the Jayne of this group. Willing to do what it takes to see the mission through, not necessarily the most moral of guys. Ethical probably, but morals...not so much.
I still think Sara is going to lead this team against the Legion of Doom/League of Doom. Mostly because she wants Darkh's head on a spit.
What that means after that? Who knows...

I don't know what it is, but when Mick calls Ray "Haircut" in the middle of a fire fight, it just gives me such hope for the show and its potential.
Also, Damien and Eobard are my two favorite villains from CW DC shows so far, and seeing them together was delightful. I hope those two get a good deal of screen time this season, because I don't know how they could go wrong.

I'm gonna guess Stein makes a play for leadership in the next episode or two, but it quickly becomes apparent that Sara is the one stepping up to take charge in crisis situations. Longer term... hard to say. I doubt they are done introducing new characters for the season, so there will be a lot of unknown variables which could influence who is calling the shots in the medium and long term.

I'm not sure how the dynamic is going to play out, or if it is anything but a disaster in the making for this particular band of jokers to have access to a time ship. (Granted, they can't be any more of a danger to the timestream than Barry Frikkin' Allen...)
I'm just glad that Rip is gone, at least for now. I could not stand that guy, and his daily voice-over reminding us of his dead wife and child.

My continuing gripe with LoT is that the action is kinda of half-arsed compared to the Marvel shows and even the rest of the Arrow-verse. Powerhouses like Firestorm basically just fly around and are forgotten most of the time. Fire from him or Mick doesn't actually hurt anyone. Much though I like Stein he seems to be destined to be consistently and constantly wrong about things. Let him be right and teach other people something for once, you damn writers!
Fun to see the JSA in action, however briefly, and I'm enjoying RF is rushing about messing things up.
Still, this season is so far seems promising.

Firestorm SHOULD be the team's powerhouse. Instead, most of the time, the team splits in two, with Jefferson and Stein being on different teams. And like Bjorn said, e,ven when they're together, he mostly just flies around without actually doing anything. I know it's because of the cost of CGI, but at least give a better excuse for it in-show than just utter stupidity.

Ninja in the Rye |

Is this show less stupid now than it was last season where they ran around trying to figure out how to find Vandal Savage in time while knowing full well exactly where he'd have been at the time of the Flash/Arrow crossover and having a team member who had been killed by him numerous times throughout history?

It's still plenty stupid but there's certainly less stupid.
The hawkpeople are gone. This both helped with the cast bloat and reduced the highest concentration of drama/idiotball. Captain Cold and Rip are also gone - the latter also being a nexus of drama.
There's still plenty of silly time travel stuff but otherwise what's left is shamelessly comicbooky in a way that works pretty well.

So at the end of the episode

I like Mick so much. He was an absolute treat this episode.
"What he meant was, 'thank you for your hospitality, but we have to go'."
<flat, deadpan Mick voice> "No. I didn't."
Also, Ray and Nate were great as well.

All in all, I'd say I probably enjoyed this episode of Legends more than any other thus far.
