Okay, that "true form" was worth the cliche. Well done.

Now, I'm not a native English speaker, mind you, but I'm pretty sure more than 60% of those words are not supposed to be capitalized.

Too much voting makes wife angry... I've seen my submission 4x and I even voted for it 3x! The other item was just so damned awesome.

"By the gods, he could do /anything/ on our turns!"
Also: tentacles. So many tentacles. That said, there are a dozen or more designers who should take the time to learn the difference between a free action and an immediate action.
Hint: Only one of those can be taken when it's not your turn. Unless explicitly stated that it can be taken outside your turn like talking (and according to FAQ is going to be explicitly stated for abilities like grab, trip, etc). Which means that adding item/ability that is activated as a free action that can be taken outside of your turn is perfectly valid and in line with existing rules. Forgetting to add such clause is another matter.
Is writing a free action item a free action?

It makes me sad at the number of decent ideas submitted by folks who didn't read the rules, so they made no effort at formatting.
I seriously hope those people are voting and reading the forums and come back next year with similarly great ideas, but properly formatted.
The thought of a <redacted> wielding that <redacted> is pretty metal. Silly, but metal!
There's no need to call it "a swift action that doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity."
Jeff Lee wrote: That's one mistake I'm glad I haven't seen: substituting the word "ruins" for "runes." Almost as bad as an item that can project a lightening bolt (though if someone actually made an item that did that, with a beam that increased the light levels along its path, that would be clever.) *scribble-srcibble-note-scribble*
It will... Uh, deal light damage and... Well... Dispel darkness of lower levl...

I keep running into joke/pun items with perfect formating, grammar, and sound mechanics. That is almost funnier than any pun they could write.
Camping item that needs polishing but I like it.

Wow, that last bit of detail was both completely disgusting AND entirely superfluous to your item's function. Even though the other object probably should have been another magic item type, I voted for it instead.
We need a "recommend therapy" button.
oh hey are they offering free therapy, I need some after that last combo of items
2 Armors both based off of Beach materials only one shall win
I've seen this one item 12 times and it's so obvious it's a joke item that I groan every time I see it. Hasn't stopped me from voting for it 10/12 times.
Edit: Woo, Dedicated Voter!

No item and no tag makes Kalervo a dull boy...
Superfluous grandiose visual effects on use? Every ranged attacking enemy within 100' will love this item. My inner DM chortles and adds it to the loot pile. Upvoted for unintended consequences.

I said to myself, "This year, you will definitely order your pairings, ignore that both are equal button, it does nothing to help sort the items...."
Now I am saying - "That one - the pain, the pain..." >.<

So I was having a thought regarding mechanics. The damage of a bludgeoning weapon is due to the impact. The force of impact has a lot to do with weight. So when you make a bludgeoning weapon out of mithral (which halves the weight of the item) it would seem like you're acting against your own best interests, since your heavy mace now weighs less than a light mace...
It's force from leverage you generate from your swing, not the weight of the weapon. A light weapon will not be as hard to swing over and over as a heavy weapon. A real sword is made of thin high quality flexible steal, not a repurposed leaf spring like the sword you buy at renfairs.
Here we have a ring of unnecessary and a staff of flavorless.
Still better then the ring, well, they claimed it was a ring, but I had to check the slot to figure it out.
I've seen this ring so many times.. I was even forced to vote for it once. I seriously think the random-views are tied to IP address or something.
Might as well be called the Ring of PC's Controlling NPCs without trying.
I don't think you can use that material to make one of those.
Oh item, every time I see you I sing a song from the 80's because reasons.
It becomes a + [Number] weapon in the [adjective] hands of a(n) [Class.]
What if the PC or NPC isn't [Adjective]? Does it still work?

That's not subtle. Doesn't matter if you say it is.

I'm sorry, Item... It's just... I really like you but I'm not sure we should be putting you in the hands of level 4 characters. I feel like you should be priced for level 10 and up. It's... it's not you, it's me.

Your item is solid, but the fact that you took 22 words to say what you could have said in 4 just bugs me. Also, that thing over on the other side of you is just awesome. Sorry.
Armor of animal vs armor of animal that eats first animal whoot
Okay, that's weird. The two items I'm looking at have the same name but for 2 letters and are the same kind of item.
Freaky.
Hm, why did I have to see my item next to a more awesome one? Still voted for mine.
Two items with matching alliteration.

NICE! Another item to suggest to a party member. I'm not sure the party would approve the expense. It's a bit outside our price range, but the price strikes me as fair. I think my DM would let us quest for it, and the party would tolerate a pretty rough dungeon for it. God, this item would just -complete- his character without overshadowing anyone and change the tide of encounters without breaking them.
A second item for my Top 32 Or Riot list.

Pretty sure I found the item with the longest name that other's have been referring to.
*scratches head*
A weapon that doesn't act as a weapon...well, isn't a weapon.
After 291 words, it still did not mention vomiting..... I am surprised.
Ooh, a satirical item. Clever, funny, but not really Superstar.
You win the armor wars, because you remembered to factor the actual cost of the armor into your pricing.
And likewise, you win the weapon wars for factoring the masterwork weapon cost into your pricing.
HA HA I fooled you and now I have your soul!
if that was a misspelling of "SPAM" then the whole thing makes sense.
At that price and caster level why stop at +2 go for the +4!
Ah the thingy of @NUKE!
Meat maker vs. meat eater?!
FYI: Magic Staff and Magic Quarterstaff are NOT synonymous!
I think I would prefer if voting was either weapons and armor OR rings, rods, staves. I find it hard to compare across these categories since weapons and armor should be combat oriented while the others can do more or less whatever (similar to wondrous items).

Hey item on the right, you see that item over there? You are not actually better than that item, but it is a wondrous item, so you should send it flowers and chocolates as a thank you.
