I just got the bestiary 3 and oh my gosh...
The Leshy are adorable beyond all telling. I mean seriously, they're the sort of construct that you would grow for your kids and give as a pet.
They are FREAKING ADORABLE!
The Baku is also pretty cute, makes me want one as a pet
What things in any of the books would you find super cute, and want to have as a pet?

Walks onto the stage and bangs on the lecturn.
Alright ladies and gentlemen, today's lecture is titled 'Cue the Creatures, what monsters do you find in a dorm!'. In general, you will find a wide variety of creatures in dorms. The exact type depends on whether it is a coed dorm, a men's dorm, or a women's dorm. Now, in a men's dorm, you're usually looking at the dreaded Gym Sock Grunge Monster, this foul beast is known for it's hideous reeking odor, and the fact that no two socks in it's form match. Women's dorms generally have the dreaded Potpurri Beast, whose odor is, while not as foul as the Gym Grunge, is over ten times as cloying and capable of knocking a grown man down at 10 paces.
Notice that if the women's dorm in question is at a Japanese college, the most likely monster to find is the 100 Tentacle Beast. This foul creature lurks under the bed of unsuspecting females and then when they are asleep, it will...
Female student steps on stage and urgently whispers in ear
Cute?! Cute? What the heck do you mean cute monsters? Gotta get my glasses checked. shuffles notes Uhm, hmmm. Sorry everyone, someone told me the wrong title. I'm afraid I don't have any notes on cute monsters. Lecture dismissed...

My girlfriend is making me force someone to make her an attic whisperer plushie
Have you got $90 to spend on it?
And since I'm here, I'm going to third Otyughs. Especially Otyughs with googly eyes.
A few other contenders for cuteness:
Krenshar
Akata
Phantom Fungus
Gelatinous Cube
Arbiter, Inevitable
Treerazer
Tojanida
Invisible Stalker

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Back in the 3e Monster Manual 2, there was a creature called (I believe) a Gravorg. The Gravorg was described as being a long, lanky quadruped slightly resembling a sloth or something, and it wasn't a very remarkable creature stat-wise except for its at-will Reverse Gravity (I think).
Anyway, despite its description, the page it was featured on was dominated by a massive picture of one of the cutest, cuddliest, most ferrett-looking black-and-white-striped creatures I've ever seen. Definitely didn't fit the description.

Rust Monster has always been adorable.
My personal favourite for cute monster as well. I have a penchant for giving one as a pet to the 14 year old young lady the PCs have to save any time that sort of scenario shows up. Opens the door to all sorts of antics in the adventure.
2nd place goes to Giant Space Hamsters.

Aside from just about all of the animals...
Dragon Turtle - it just is.
Giant Slug - villagers keep running away; he just wants a hug.
Goblin - who doesn't find these little buggers adorable?
Kobold - see goblin.
Quasit - look at his bestiary entry; he tries so hard to look threatening its cute.
Pixie - he just looks so friendly.
Rakshsa - KITTY!
Rust Monster - a terribly impracticle pet, but cute nonetheless.
Sahuagin - I've always had a soft spot for these awkward menaces.
Satyr - its their job to be cute.
Shocker Lizard - see rust monster.
Unicorn - it's like a pony +!
Worg - we have to call it "worg" because it sounds more threatening than "big puppy".
Wyvern - see dragon turtle.
And the half-orc from the line-up in the character race section of the CRB.

I think it's cute how everyone else thinks it's cute to list something that would be described as horrific as their pick for cutest monster.
[/rollseyes]I like the vulpinals. I guess they're not so much cute as cool-looking though. Wish they had been fey creatures instead of outsiders, though. Also, I agree with the OP that the leshy are adorable. Gourd leshy is my favorite. I'd have one and name it Ichabod. :D
Wish I could afford the Mythic Monsters book so I could see this baby chimera. :(

But they actually are. Look at that goofy face and those wibbly eyes snd tentacles.
I'd be really hardpressed to describe the flumph as horrific.
Cuteness can be found in many forms. See Happysnake!
