"Ahh the song of gifted brothers. So annointed must I be. Have we the day to dig away our worries? Clanking spades and the powder of earth stirs me to such glee. Alas we will be to Tian' Xia by the morn at this rate fine gents, let us unite our shovels and defeat this wicked mudhole, the will of Erastil speeds our burrowing!"

Lord Meadowlark really throws his back into his work, as much as he can with his modest strength anyway. Although he might seem ingenuine he truly feels imbued and takes to the hard labor with a sense of divine responsibility.

Seeing a potential conflict, Molasbar will take a break from hauling dirt to create another clearing about the same size as the first. In the earth he'll use Presdigitation to disturb the ground, forming a shape of a griffon, at least twice life size as seen from the air. Hopefully the bright animals will be able to tell they should land there, rather than in the circle he created for teleportation.

[oooooo nice idea. Didn't think of that.[/ooc]

Love steps away from the dig. Wipes his brow. Looks at the sky trying to judge how long they had been digging. He turns to the others.

"You know it may just be me but I think the Tomb got the GM."

Molasbar nods sagely. My conjuring powers only go so far as Summon Monster V. A GM, that is beyond even my abilities.

Indeed, it does seem that way. If need be, I know there is a 3.5 conversion of the Tomb of Horrors on the WotC site and I could take a read to get things running for you guys since we do have a good group here, but I'd rather stay ignorant of what is coming in case the DM comes back. How long would you all wish to give before take that sort of step? Its been less than a week now since he checked in saying he was swamped.

A couple of weeks at least. I understand swamped.

A couple of weeks is certainly fair. I'm in no rush. We are not in a moment of high drama or tension, so this is as good of a time for a delay as any. I've been involved in games that picked up after several weeks of lull to move on quite successfully.

Ah lads a couple of weeks sounds like a honorable time to wait.

Sounds good to me too, I definitely hope its just a matter of things having got busy a bit for the DM. I am looking forward to playing with you all.

well, it could be that it's just going to take a couple of weeks of game time to dig, and he's decided to make it more realistic by mirroring that IRL

He did say at the beginning that the idea was to do a round a day. So 10 days of real time a minute of digging, huh?

Lord Meadowlark gazes deeply into the sky, "Blessed Old Deadeye, please send us an agent of your divine will to guide us through this maelstrom of chaos we call existence." With a smile, Cobbledarn turns to the others. "I'm sure he will answer my querry shortly, Erastil cannot let this dungeon go uncontested!"

Couple of weeks sounds good. I'll be happy to RP in the meanwhile :)

He looks to the sky waiting for something to happen then replies to the Lord
"I surely hope so lad, cuz Im a brewer now not a digger hehe"
After he says that he pats his wineskin wondering if his stock pile of brews will last him beyond digging this hole.
Then he shrugs off these pondering questions and begins singing and digging again

"You dig a home, You dig a Life
You dig for drink and wife"

Im cool with RPing as well, I hope we can get this group in the tomb as I stated before Im having a blast with you guys!

Faran gives a polite nod to Meadowlark's prayer, he may not be very religious, but he knows that every soldier seem to be a believer when on the battlefield and he's certainly not going to turn down a call for blessing.

When Keggan takes up singing again, he glances back towards him and gives a joking wince and shakes his head a bit. "I think you are just trying to convince me that I should take up your flask now."

I hate to do this, But I'm going to have to puyt this on hold for a bit. Prob till the end of the Month, we got a Huge amoutn or work dumped into the Office and I don't have the time to make maps/posts, etc. So I'll cast Time stop untill June 1st, we can pick up right here if everyone is still intrested in playing. Sorry guys.

I'm glad that you checked back in with us, DM, as you could tell we were getting worried about you. Its good to have a definite time frame for things as I certainly have been enjoying the group we've got.

Thanks for dropping in to let us know. We'll be here whenever you are ready.

Thanks for the update, Keggen will be standing by for further orders sir! Don't worry I got enough booze to last the tomb! and even got enough to tempt Faran hehe

Male Dwarf Trapsmith Rogue

Great! I am so glad you you are still interested in this and I am glad that you are taking a break when you need to. We will be here on June first.

If you can though try to drop the odd line here to let us know that plans haven't changed. We gamers are a cowardly and superstitious bunch and we thrive on attention. Nothing like a post, just a OOC note to let us know you are still there.

For our part we will also work to drop the odd line her so you can see that we are still invested in the game. I hope work finds a good balance.

See you soon.

Ahhhh.... Thank Erastil my prayers have been answered!

Good to hear from ya Evil Ginger, I knew you would show up sooner or later. Don't let the RL issues get ya down, we'll still be here when you are ready.

"Well, lads, it appears this dirt is proof against magical removal and we must dig it all up by hand. I'm reminded of a work song I learned from a dwarf a long time ago. Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go..."

When the gnome begins singing as well, Faran hangs his head for a moment before seeming to double his effort to get the dirt cleared, eyeing between Love and Keggan. "Do you see what you've started?"

He does grin a bit towards Meadowlark, pausing to catch his breath. "I am sure it won't be uncontested. Though I'd rather have the contest with less blistered hands."

Male Human Rogue 12

Still lurking, June is soon here! :)

Male Dwarf Trapsmith Rogue

Oi, show up or we'll start singing again

Aye no one wants to here the two dwarves hit another high note! So you better show up hehe.

Poor Faran, he could be in a far greater danger than the tomb itself.

Male Dwarf Trapsmith Rogue

"Well gentelbeings it looks like our backers have called off this expidition." "It's a pity really but sometimes jobs fall through."

Love points to the sky. "Looks like there were nice enough to send our rides out for us. Save us a walk anyway."

Love repacks his gear. Taking care to clean the dirt off the tools before replacing them in the pack.

That done he walks to each of the others and clasps arms in farewell.[/b]

"Happy. I'm sure I'll be seeing you around."

"Mr. Brown, it's a joy to work with a real professional."

"Cobble. It is a real pity this fell through. Don't often get to mix with the gentry in my line of work."

"Arnie, It was a joy working with you."

"Bottle. Come on let's have a few for the road."

and that looks like goodbye folks. This was a blast. You are all great players. funny but I was more attached to Love than to any of my other characters. Strange how a throw-away experiment can grow on you. Mind you if you are reading this GM. I can be back in a trice. See you on the boards. ~will

Male Elf Wizard 2 | HP:22/22 | F:+3 R+4 W+4 | CMD 14 | AC:14 T:14 FF:10 | Init+4 | Perc +10 |

Yes, gentlemen. I believe there is nothing here after all.

Teleport.

"Well then in that case...."Keggan says as he starts digging out a few pony kegs from his bag of holding. He holds out 5 tankards of ale in his hands."Come on people lets at least celebrate the times we had outside the tomb, and since were heading away you all can now DRINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Bottle shouts with vigor. "Let us cheer for the good times we did have, and the party that showed its greatness without having to swing a sword, sling a spell, spring a trap, heal a wound, smite an evil, or throw a bomb. But it is great to finally share a drink with all of you." Bottle says with joy and sadness in his voice.

This was my first pbp, I enjoyed the times of just interacting with all of you, so thanks for a good experience. Also just like Love, Keggan will come back in a second and take on the tomb of horrors.

Keggan Sings,"drink the ale, by the pale, then fill the mug, and give your fellow a slug, when he hits the floor, dont look to the door, and thats the brewhammer!"

waiting to see if Faran will join in....

Faran winces a bit at the shout of his fellows, though he gives a polite nod to those who depart. "Just because we haven't walked into the mouth of danger doesn't mean we need to call out to see if it comes to us, hm?"

Still he finally takes one of the mugs and sips from it, carefully smoothing and cleaning his mustache after every drink. "It has truly been an honor to have worked with you each. I suspect that death in this outing may have been much more likely than on most battlefields, but you all were prepared to face that challenge with as much strength as I have seen in any soldier."
