The purple crack widens and then explodes into dozens of smaller rifts. Each rift reveals a vision of some distant view. From stone walls of unknown architecture to verdant jungles, each vision is entirely different. The ground in the chamber shakes and heaves as a massive bug skitters into existence from the rifts.

"Now there’s a challenge!" Calisro Benarry boasts. "Let’s show them what Pathfinders are made of!"

"The rifts are pulling us into the past," Jirneau counters. "We need to force the Eternity Arch to seal these rifts, or we’ll be stranded here!"

Ok. Manipulation it is!

To seal the rifts, the PCs must connect with the Eternity Arch, attune to it, and then manipulate the arch into sealing the rifts:

Connecting: To connect with the Eternity Arch, a creature must Interact to touch it. Each time a creature first touches the arch, it takes 2d4 mental damage. After connecting with the Eternity Arch, a creature can attempt to attune to it. Breaking contact with the arch immediately severs a creature’s connection to it.

Mental Damage; DC 15 Basic Will: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6

Attuning: To attune to the Eternity Arch - DC 16 Fortitude Save while connected

DC 16 Fortitude:

CS/S: You attune to the Arch; You can now attempt to manipulate it

That should be a 16 on the fort save. My bleary eyes took that +6 to be a +8. Still made it though :) Any roll at this point to manipulate it?

Jerikyo gets a splitting headache but manages to attune to the arch. BK and Mao manage to push past the headache and attune to the arch. Kyra and Sajan unfortunately do not succeed in attuning to the arch.

You now need to earn Manipulation points to successfully complete the task. Only Jerikyo, Mao and BK may make checks as they have successfully attuned to the arch. Kyra and Sajan are now Clumsy 1. They may make another Fort Save to attune.

Each check is 2 actions:
DC 15 Arcana, Nature, Occultism, Religion, Thievery to gain Manipulation Points (CS/S/F: +2/+1/0)
CF: the PC is thrown back from the rift and must restart the process of connecting and attuning to it before attempting further checks to earn Manipulation Points.

Jerikyo manages to cast his angelic halo before starting the manipulation process.

Suddenly, the ground shakes, a result of the the chaotic battles being waged by the other Pathfinders in this room. This results in a complication that hinders the party’s efforts or puts other Pathfinders in danger.

Rd 2 checks have a -1 penalty to all checks to manipulate and to attune.

Please give me 2 rounds of checks. The first check is for rd 2 and is at a -1 penalty. Same DC

**HOUSE GM ANNOUNCEMENT**

“Done!” Heraxia shouts. “Get out of here before—” Heraxia’s words are cut off as she disappears completely, shuddering back into existence a few moments later with a tear-streaked face. Looking confused, she shakes her head, then eyes the vault door with determination. “Seal me inside the vault, then go!”

As the surviving Pathfinders flee through into the Maze of the Open Road, Venture-Captain Armeline and Eando Kline hurry to the vault door, dragging it shut and sealing Heraxia inside the ovoid chamber.

Pathfinders gather inside the Maze of the Open Road, bloodied but alive. As time passes, nervousness flutters through the crowd. Suddenly, Armeline and Eando tumble into the Maze, panting from exertion. “It’s done,” Eando grunts.

“Wait,” Armeline interjects. “We need to give her time to leave...” After a few minutes, Armeline steps through the portal that led to Akiton. She returns moments later, smiling. “It worked! The Maze of the Open Road is repaired. We did it!”

A cheer goes up among the Pathfinders.

“It’s time to go home.”

The surviving Pathfinders travel through the Maze of the Open Road, back to Woodsedge Lodge. As medics tend the wounded and fresh food circulates among the returning heroes, Venture-Captain Armeline Jirneau takes the podium. “Congratulations, Pathfinders! Each and every one of you has performed exceptionally, showing bravery in the face of danger and teamwork throughout uncertain, desperate, and—let’s face it—downright strange events. You should be proud of yourselves.

“On behalf of myself, Heraxia, and the Pathfinder Society, thank you for your efforts. I can’t tell you what will happen with Heraxia and Felise, but your deeds here today will echo into an unknowably distant future. And as for the present, well, I’m sure everyone back at the Grand Lodge will be eager to hear the tales of what you have accomplished here today.”
