Eh. I’m not worried. I’d love to get Razor Coast (and the other products) and it’s a real pity that things have come up preventing Nick from getting it out when he originally said he would. BUT, I assume it will come some time, and I’ll enjoy it then.
As for the money, honestly, I don’t miss it. I have no intention of asking for a refund. Even if I never get Razor Coast I will count the money as a donation to Nick for the crazy cheap (and cool) indulgences, and the work he put into getting his site up and the forums there which I enjoyed for some time before I drifted away.
If (and when) Razor Coast does come it will be a nice bonus. Like getting something for free.

All I know is that I paid for something to be delivered in June of 2008 that still hasn't arrived.
When it is available, I'll still want it, and will buy it. I have no doubts that it will be of high quality...and I'm not boycotting, I just want my money back for now. (So I can use my own money.)
If there is a less public way to ask for a refund, anyone is welcome to let me know. All I know is that Sinister Adventures' site is messed up and I have no real way to contact Nick. (Hence my posts here and in the Sinister shoutbox).
EDIT: Is there a way to PM other Paizo forumgoers?

Aberzanzorax |

I'm not trying to bring on the hate.
I just want to use my (very limited) funds to buy something else. Something that I can read, because it exists. I already know what I want...
...adventures 3 and 4 in 0one games' Road to Revolution campaign arc (adventure path).
I don't have the money for your pitchforks, but if they're cheap, maybe I'll buy one with the refund $$ I get from Nick. Also, unless you know a good torch salesman, I'm afraid I won't be buying. I don't wanna just go stabbity crazy in the dark you know. I might maul a fellow angry peasant...or worse, hit Nick in one of his tender vittles. I still want him to live and write and such...but I don't feel so much like funding it at the moment.
Or, perhaps you know a more private way I can contact Nick?

Greetings. I'm developing a revolutionary flame haloed pitchfork. Finally your torch needs and your pitchfork goodness met by one quality manufacturer. No more back aches as you try to vigorously hoist your pitchfork in the air one handed while suffering from embers burning your other hand. Ouch!
It'll be shipping when it ships. Preorder and I promise to deliver eventually.
Edit: okay! I deleted most of the rest of my post as I don't want to be a crazy over the edge pitchfork toting maniac myself!

Nick's big problem has been to over-promise (and maybe take money on a poor assessment of his own ability to complete the project on time). It's a shame, but he is doing this part-time (along with other part-time stuff too, presumably) while holding down a day job, and he's a married man too now with responsibilities. We also don't know what the problem is yet. I would be surprised if it never came, the opportunity cost of the money anyone has pledged is likely to be negligible (interest rates right now, anyone?) so while I appreciate that many who have paid are frustrated, let's calm down a little. That said, a word from the Loguester here might be useful.

Day job, Nicks job is considerably more than a day job, which is really the problem, along with his perfectionist tendancies and probable lack of slave monkeys... uh sorry post grad/TA types to shove stuff on it being his first year and all. That being said a little post on the Bank Holiday Monday would have ben appreciated.

Dark Mistress:
I checked over the webpage (before posting here). I didn't see any email there.
I just checked again and still can't find one.
I also checked by clicking on his name here, on these forums, to go to his profile. All I got is that he has the irondm website noted (which I could also not find contact info on).
To everyone else asking for calm, rational, patience...
1. I'm not asking for others to judge him or his company. I'm not asking or suggesting that others get refunds. Heck, I don't really care what others do in this regard. I'm not looking to cause a backlash against him...I just want my money back. Is that unreasonable? Some of the posts here seem to think that it is.
2. I'm not feeling patient anymore. Part of this is an emotional decision for me. I do feel a bit ripped off/jerked around. But I've felt that way for a long time now. If I felt more goodwill (like with an update here or there before we had to start clamoring for one) I might not have made this decision. Do I want my money or the product? I really just want the product. If I had confidence it would arrive before I move at the end of June, I'd not be asking for a refund.
But as it is, I either need to get my money back and then pay for it again at my new place of residence or I need to somehow change the address it is supposed to go to. I think the most reliable way to avoid snafus is to go the refund route.
When the book comes out, I'll buy it.
Jeez, it's like asking for a refund on a product that was due to come out 10 months ago, then 7, then 5, then ??? is a crime around here. I'm not condemning the man, but I do want the money or the product, and I want it as soon as is possible, given the fact that I'm moving. If RC is done and ready to go to the printers right now, I certainly don't need a refund.
So, in case anyone misreads my meaning...I'm not trying to demonize Nick. From all accounts, he's a great guy. But I paid for something 10 months ago and I still don't have it. I want the money.

Aberzanzorax, since most people are posting in agreement with you, about being frustrated and/or wanting their money back, or else are simply stating reasons why the product might be late without offering an opinion on you wanting a refund, I assume this post is directed at me (since I’m the only one who’s specifically said I don’t want a refund and I’m just being philosophical about it).
I’m sorry if I made you feel that asking for a refund is unreasonable. That wasn’t my intention. I’m just voicing my opinion on the situation, much as you voiced yours. I respect your feelings about this, I can see why you want a refund and why you’re frustrated. I personally do not and am not. Each to his own, it’s cool.
Personally, I’d prefer Nick spend whatever free time he does have on getting the book out, rather than giving daily Twitter updates or organizing refunds for a raft of people, BUT that’s just me, I can totally understand if others feel differently.
I'd prefer to have the book, and like I said I think it's a pity on many levels that it didn't eventuate when orginally indicated, but I don't miss the money. It's not going to change my life to get the money back at this point. It saddens me a little, but doesn't annoy me that the book's not ready yet. Like I said, that's just me.

Thanks for the post, Mothman.
No, I was't specifically directing my last post toward anyone in particular.
There's the humorous pitchfork salesman, the people asking for us (or me?) to calm down, etc.
I don't feel "not calm" and I also don't feel "in the wrong". It's entirely reasonable for some people (or even every person who isn't me) to feel at peace and willing to wait it out.
I don't feel that way, though.
My post was in reply to those who seemed to be telling me that I need to get perspective, or that I need to calm down, or that I need to give him a chance.
This is not the first time I've considered asking for a refund...but it is the first time I've decided to do so. It's not something I'm going off half cocked about. I have thought it through.
So, Mothman, we're cool.

I would like to inform everyone that I have sold the rights of Sinister Adventures to Richard Pett. The site will now be known as Pett's Projects and will be about undead haggis and Richard's favorite Roper soccer team.
Oh man you sure made me spill coke out my noose... Soda coke...not the good one XD :roflmao:

Hi All!
GAH! Imposters! Pitchforks! Oh MY!
Sorry for being out of touch everyone. I was hoping to finish up the edit on the Bank Holiday, but a Swine Flu scare put me in bed hardcore for most of the weekend and I still had to crawl to an Afro-Brazilian Dance Festival my students were performing at as well.
I am being SWAMPED like mad with recruitment as well right now (as this is the time of year when we set our incoming class for next Fall). Ugh. Learning the ropes of this new day job (and yes, it is sort of a weekend/night job as well sadly), has been MUCH more difficult than I thought.
Aubrey is correct. I completely over-committed myself - especially because when I began and planned Sinister, I had no day job at all and so it was supposed to be that for me. I apologize for the way life whirlwinded around my little company.
I am still whacking away at Razor Coast and am completely committed to finishing it and every other project on the website - it may just take more time. I am hoping I can polish off Razor on the weekends (but they are filling up with auditions and work related tasks for my day job), and then lunge into the Gazetteer, Ebon Shroud, the next wave of Indulgences (just sitting there on my desktop staring at me right now), and Cold Black.
Again, guys, many many apologies for the delays, and I'll happily refund anyone who wants one. Just email me as admin@sinisteradventures.com or nflogue@hotmail.com and I'll get on it.
If you have the patience to keep up the wait though, Razor Coast is going to be so beyond sexalicous there are no words for it. And it is HUGE - which rocks, but of course is one of the reasons the editing process has been so ridiculous.
Sorry again all! I count many among you not only as fans, but also as friends, and the last thing I want is to sully that with my continued tardiness. Please accept my apologies.
Nick
P.S. I LOOOOOVE that a thread about me turned into what words can make it past the censor! That's f u c k i n g awesome! :-)

Thank you Nick.
Got your email.
You, sir, are a gentleman.
Yeah the admin one was the one I was talking about. I just looked on the site and couldn't find it either but I could have sworn it was up there at one time somewhere. Maybe it was mentioned in a forum thread once or something or maybe i am just crazy.

I'm guesstimating, then, RC will be out by September just in time for the Xmas season, eh.

Nicolas Logue Contributor |

Thanks for your patience everyone! I will chip away at RC during this busy time, but as soon as summer rolls around (in a month and a half) I will gloriously have NOTHING to do for my day job (the joy of acadamia), and can finally put Sinister Adventures first again (and for three full months until October). I can't friggin wait!

My "BSA" has a theme song even...
Xorn free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Xorn free to follow your heart
Live free and beauty surrounds you
The world still astounds you
Each time you look at a star
Stay free, where no walls divide you
You're free as the roaring tide
So there's no need to hide
Xorn free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
'cause you're xorn free
Stay free, where no walls divide you
You're free as the roaring tide
So there's no need to hide
Xorn free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
'cause you're xorn free
