A wish list for me would be the inclusion of at least two or three of anthropomorphic races including ones that have already been published in the pages of Dragon magazine to available as PC races. Although right now I am getting thoughts of comparing Pathfinder in various ways to Red Steel. Which means I'm hoping for the inclusion of Lupin and Tortles as playable races and perhaps the Cat Folk, almost typed Rakasta, silly woofie, as well. Yeah in some ways I'm a pain in the neck about this but I see the need for an advocate for those that like playing "monsters" like my own preferred race the lupin. If I don't speak up for them who will?

Paizo cannot use any races printed in Dungeon, Dragon, or any other WoTC products except what is in the SRD. They have to stick to OGL material.

Is there a futur campaign in egyptian/arabian, desert environment ? I think about somes aventures like Desert of Desolation you know, or Warhammer's adventure Lure of the Liche Lord...

According to the Paizo blog: "J1: Entombed with the Pharaohs takes place in Osirion, the Egypt analog of Golarion. Not sure if there will be an adventure Path (and it would be at least a year off anyhow), but they at least have a place carved out in the world for adventures such as what you suggest.

My wishlist is pretty small, and after seeing the players guide, I feel you guys are on the right track:
I just want OGL content. I'm not using the Pathfinder C.S., so I'd like a lot of content that I can include in my own game. Monsters, feats, equipment, interesting varients for races and classes, etc. Even maps of cities and dungeons would be very helpful.

Thank you for all your hard work.

Hey you leave us Rouges alone!

Calm down, you're getting a bit red in the face. :)

Although all of the game mechanics in Pathfinder are open, for home games that doesn't matter. You can use anything from any source to adapt and customize your own games. The question of whether something's open or not only comes into play when you want to publish something you've written.

I just realized that my request made no sense. I was trying to describe what you just said with the phrase OGL. I meant information not specific to the campaign, but you just made me realize that technically I can just rewrite anything in pathfinder to fit anyhow...sorry.

Oh! I see!
There'll certainly be new "plug-and-play" elements in every pathfinder, then. New feats, new spells, new magic items, and at least six new monsters every month. All of which are somehow tied to the adventure (and thus, have Golarion flavor), but that can easilly be ported out to any d20 campaign.

Scarab Sages

Oh. Then thank you. That's exactly what I want. :)

I actually disagree with that last point (shocker, eh?). I've found it annoying, honestly, that Dragon had been offering fewer and fewer prestige classes as of late. If I wanted to be entertained, I'd read a novel, or kick back with Faiths and Pantheons. Crunch > Fluff in a magazine (but then, I guess Pathfinder is going to be a book, but still). I guess a lot of it goes to my favorite part of Unearthed Arcana that I haven't really seen expanded anywhere: generic classes (I love the ability to just take a blank slate and run with it). I'm aware of what the original design of Prestige Classes "was," but you can't put ten gallons of poop back into a five pound bag (or maybe you can? Stinking weights and measures....). Time to either expand the definition, or make something new that is a subset of the original intention.

No need to sugarcoat your true feelings for your amongst friends.

All humor aside, i do agree with you. I believe that the evolution of the game will bring us to the blank slate where we as players will expand their characters to make them unique in their own right. D&D will get there but it will be some years away. This is my belief anyway, based off of the fact that my race is from the future and i know all that has happened, what will happen, and what will be.

My latest wish for Pathfinder is not to give too much away about the rest of the world too early. I hope the Gazeteer doesn't set every continent and land in stone - and that there will be room for more Gazeteers in the future. Given that Varisia is the size of California, and at least two adventure paths will be comming out of it - a lot of Californias can fit into a world.

Given the great quality of writing, and examples of mysteries that are revealed so far that only serve to create more enticing mysteries - I'm not worried!

Having savage, near-impassable seas and multiple large islands and small continents beyond "the known world of Golarion" that will be revealed slowly over time would be my way to go!

Cheers

1 person marked this as a favorite.

On New Year's Day, James Jacobs asked us readers to let Paizo know what we'd like more of - adventures, products and blog posts - so I thought I'd pull this post from out of the archives and start it up again.

Thanks for the iconics miniatures that are on the way ... this has been on my pathfinder wishlist for some time. They look awesome!

Any chance that Savage Tide will become a bound book?

I am SO happy you guys did Flight of the Red Raven and RPG Superstar - every competitor has done a great job and I hope this opportunity to submit will repeat itself sometime in 2008-2009.

Unfortunately I was away for the latter competition - in Ethiopia without email access - but my visit left me with lots of adventure ideas for the land of Geb. Anyone interested in an African inspired setting should check out Aksum, Lalibela and Gonder (yes, the original!) - each from a different time period in Ethiopia's rich and dramatic history!

Cheers

Nope. It’s not just you.

That is up to wizards, because they hold the rights to it.

What I would like to see is a uses entry in the monsters section. (similar to what Creatures of Freeport or the dragon article on using pieces of dead dragons did)

I would not like to see that. I have a tendency to get annoyed when players become butchers rather than heroes, and listing uses for monster parts pushes them more and more into the butcher role. It happens often enough, with players needing the rob the dead, and I don't think we need to exacerbate this trend.

Which is a nicely detailed way of saying "no." ;)

When a monster legitimately has use for their body parts, such as if we do a gold golem or a dragon with gems for eyes or a giant lizard monster whose tongue is magic and can cure wounds, or even something like a giant mink with an expensive fur,we'll have something like a "Uses" section for the monster. That won't be a standard entry though, since tying gp values to every monster tends to wreak havoc with their treasure and the overall game economy... plus, most of the monsters from the PHB we use don't have this information either, which means we'd have to come up with uses for those few hundred monsters or they'd end up being weirdly devoid of expensive body parts.

That... and the idea of skinning and butchering every monster for their expensive parts doesn't add much to the game.

AND: The chances of a Savage Tide hardcover are fantasticly slim. I don't think it, or an Age of Worms hardcover, will ever happen. If it DOES... it'll be years from now, and I doubt anyone who worked on it the first time through will have any involvement. Both are pretty much out of Paizo's hands.

I see it as using the creature that attacked you for good instead of letting it just sit there rotting. I think of it as a natural reaction of a ranger or druid to use the death of the animal, so that it didn't have to die uselessly. I've also had a ranger character that acted like Autobahn and used their kills of new creatures, posed them, and drew them out, that way the rest of the world would know what it was and how to kill it. When he retired, he bound these pictures together into a book, giving one copy to each party member, one copy to each of the royal libraries, and one he kept in a Tavern he bought, which he made to look like a Hard Rock with the creatures from the book (preserved through both alchemical and magical means). I see this more as a form of respect for the fearsomeness of the creature, not wanting others to be caught unaware than butchering them - he wasn't going through and trying to slaughter every one of them in a poacher sort of way, but in the same breath, he would use the horn of a unicorn it found dead in the dragon's lair for good then let it sit there and rot. (I have no idea if this made any sense, feel free to ask if I'm crazy if it doesn't)

More wishes:
1) A GM's Screen at GenCon 09 when Pathfinder RPG launches.
2) Large framable maps
3) Fiction (I heard this is on it's way, YAY)

I like the idea of 2 adventure paths a year, variety is the spice of life. However as well as the adventure paths Id like to see something like the 'book of lairs', that were published of yore. Short instant adventures, that can be plugged in instantly and fit anywhen. Id also like to see adventure paths above 15th...going into epic.

As much as folks will probably scream bloody murder about this one, Id rather not see more classes and keep additional feats to a minimum...Instead have prestige classes that are rooted in the world, secret societies, guilds, organizations....and how to join them.

Give us Low Fantasay adventure paths as well as world shaking ones.

Ample hooks for role playing in the settings.

Ill plug the idea of a Judges Shield as well.

I dont think we need Monster manual 537....just selective new monsters for adventures. Just as i dont think we need new spells....Just an occasional interesting one.

Its been a pet peeve of mine....and I think some game companies miss the boat on what folks want. Inundating the masses with the new whatsis doesnt keep people around...quality, not quanitity is whats desired...

Most of us play in bastardized worlds where things haven been borrowed from soo many game systems, books, and mythologies and just want want new adventures that can be plugged in. Yime isnt always on our side for 'creating' like it once was...

Once again thanks for keeping the fires going.

I like when adventures include a side view of the maps in the cases where it can help you understand the elevation and topography of an area.

This has, to a certain degree, already been adressed. If I remember right you'll see short side trek adventures popping up in Pathfinder soon (with the start of the Second Darkness AP)
