A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 4th-level characters.

Ehu Hadif has announced his upcoming retirement, and the search for a new First Seeker has begun! From the Society’s ranks, four promising candidates have risen to the forefront. Meet the candidates for First Seeker, perform a mission on their behalf, and cast your vote! The future of the Starfinder Society is in your hands!

Tomorrow’s Seeker is a stand-alone scenario, but will be part of a global vote to determine the next First Seeker for the Starfinder Society. Players are encouraged to play this scenario and vote on their preferred First Seeker, each of whom was chosen from the ranks of Starfinder Society player PCs. Further information on voting to come alongside the release of this adventure.

    Uneven Experience and unnecessarily vague

    3/5

The setting detail givennin this scenario was almost distractingly poorly presented. Two of these three quick hitter missions designed to introduce us to the candidates involved weeklong jaunts to other planets. Players pointed this out and their investment was visibly diminished by it.

Abadarcorp presented as being evil and soulless corporation when their lore is the exact opposite undercut the presentation of the entire 2nd mission.

The combat in the 2nd quest lacked vital details on how the encounter was supposed to work, making it difficult to give the players agency in an exploration scenario.

    Oddness Mechanically:
Enormous Dinosaurs with no stealth modifier ambush the party

The environmental exploration and dungeon exploration in missions 2 and 4 were too shallow to be memorable. Mission 3 was a standout and was good. Mission 1 was also good.

The NPCs are mostly well presented and that is the main point of this adventure but everything else was sloppy and uneven.

Im not sure why this is repeatable. It has absolutely no repeatable elements.

    Dewey Defeats Truman!

    5/5

As others have stated, as a repeatable, it's not very engaging, since there's no variance in the missions between sessions. However, the purpose of the repeatable tag in this case is to ensure that everyone has a chance to get a look at the candidates for First Seeker before they vote. And as a showcase of each of their characters, this scenario does very well.

Why this scenario works is that each mission really is a teaser for how the Society will pursue the mandate of each candidate; for instance, Aurora's mission involves a performance and media-based play, which definitely has a fanbase. So for newer players, it acts a sampler platter, while more veteran players can pick up on foreshadowing on future storylines.

The mission types are good and varied, giving different skill sets a chance to shine. My complaints are fairly minimal, outside the lack of variance. Bigger Temple as a map was total overkill, and some of the in-mission rewards were a bit weird. It's definitely enjoyed fresh, so play it while you can - later, this will become a museum of what could have been.

Finally a winner in season 6!

    5/5

This is a really fun and enjoyable module. Gives you a solid taste of what each of the new seeker's aspire to and how they will shape the future of the Starfinder Universe. I had a lot of fun and found this to be a lot of fun! Highly recommended and a winner in my books.

As a repeatable it falls flat. I've played this 4 times now and its the exact same thing every time. Felt more like grinding for reputation in WOW than playing a fun and different replay.

So excited to meet the new candidates at GenCon!!

One of the things I remember from the last go around electing a First Seeker was a sort of 'tension,' between voting for what your character(s) want, and what you as a Player want. Like, while none of my Society heroes particularly agreed with Tara Nova's "let's make those jinsuls rue the day they picked a fight with the Starfinders!" agenda, I thought, as a player, that the a tale of teetering on the brink of revenge could've been a fun Season! There's also a number of Society players who have multiple PCs, who may have different thoughts, and different preferences based on the characters.

Anyways - is it possible for each person to have two (or even three?) votes? And they can decide how to divvy them up themselves? You could spread your votes around based on what you as a player want vs what you as character(s) want, or go all in on one thing you feel strongly about, or assign one vote per PC, or whatever else!

One vote per player, but how do we feel about a ranked choice ballot? (hopefully positively because, uh, that's the plan)

I wouldn't say 1 vote per character, because that wouldn't be fair to the new players or players with fewer characters.

Preferential voting is a good way to solve it. I feel much like "it's what my character would do" situations, you're the one figuratively steering the boat. I voted last time on what I thought would be fun Society plot direction. Didn't get it.

With preferential voting, I can weight my continued fun vs who my 1-4 characters like their ideas the best. As my 1-4s are currently a fey space pirate, a hellish Talent Resources Manager, a delusion mystic and a Skittermander who's backpack is a cooler full of mostly beer, I don't think their opinions are neccessarily the most... well thought out or cooperative.

You son of a bantrid, I'm in! Seriously though, being able to show varying levels of support for >1 candidate is exactly what I was looking for :)

I just realized the only eligible 1-4 level voter I have is the one who only cares about hunting for cultists of the Great Old Ones! Total single issue voter. I wonder if anyone will win him over

Mine only one is a skittermander who tends to get a little too caught up in helping. So, I feel you.

As a single issue, that's a really good one. Most, maybe all except my 702, are on board. Good thing I have a number of low tier GM babies to put this credit on.
