Sorry for my quietness, I was having issues with trying to figure out posting everything to the site. I hope everyone has fun, and at least I think I have this figured out for another time.

Sorry for my delay, I've been offline trying to finish up projects - and I just saw that I had been offered a space... Is that still valid? If so, I need to figure out how to enter my character onto my profile - and I'm bookmarking this thread :-)

Hi, I am having an issue with my subscriptions. For the second month in a row my legacy Paizo advantage discount isn’t being applied to other parts of my order. This time it is my other subscription item, The Lost Omens World Guide. If this could be fixed I’d be greatly appreciative.

Hi, I am having the same issue as a few other people where my other subscription - The Lost Omens World Guide, isn’t having my legacy Paizo advantage discount applied. If this could be fixed I’d be greatly appreciative. My order number is 8083278.

Diego- my subscription now says pending/suspended. Could this be a payment issue? My card says they haven’t declined anything, but I went ahead and added a different payment option... Order 7954864

Forgive me if I’m just misunderstanding, or if this is in the wrong place- I got my order confirmation yesterday #7954864 and I’m confused as to how it is setup because I think I’m missing something. I thought that the campaign setting guides would be Druma and then switch to 2E (which I was okay with) but I didn’t realize the Tyrant’s Grasp Poster Map Folio was a part of it as well. Also, I thought that by doing the AP subscription starting with 144 I would still be able to get the Paizo advantage discount, but I’m not seeing it either on this authorization or the future ones in my account. :-(

So, I’m summary I’ve not been authorized for the Druma book, I have a folio I didn’t realize was a part of the subscription, and I’m not seeing my discount. Am I wrong about how this should work, or did something mess up?

Diego, just to clarify - since only subscribers can get pre-order pickup, does that mean that we aren't going to be able to use earned vouchers (such as from Origins and PaizoCon) to cover the cost of any extra items preordered?

My simple schedule has gotten a little more full:
Exhibit Hall Opens: Start running demos
Exhibit Hall Closes: Stop running demos

Evenings:
Thursday: Run PF2 1-00: Origin of the Open Road
Friday: Play SFS 2-00
Saturday: Play PFS 10-98

Overnights: Sleep? At least some ;-)
Other than that, looking for some of the shenanigans that tend to float around gatherings of Pathfinders and Starfinders.

I’m more than a little perturbed at the moment.

I tried to subscribe so I could get this stuff at Gen Con, but the system wouldn’t let me use the vouchers I have to pay for it. So my only choice was to prep-order them.

If I can’t pick them up at Gen Con, I’m going to be pretty unhappy. I do understand the need to let subscribers have some advantage (they get free PDFs) but this isn’t just a standard release.

I wish we would hear SOMETHING.

I was under the impression that you paid for the items in your side-cart when you picked them up, so you could use them for that? Unless I misunderstood, :-(

Sara Marie has said that they're yet to confirm whether they will be able to do GenCon pickup.

Thank you. I read through most of the product pages and couldn’t find an answer, so I appreciate you giving me one. I guess I’ll wait To put in my order until I know one way or the other.

One more question that comes off of this though- will the deluxe hardcover be available at GenCon, or only as a preorder?

For Pathfinder Academy this Year I think it should be Switched to Starfinder Academy, we can get GMs to run and teach Starfinder we have a beginner box coming out which should be able to teach the Basics of Starfinder right from the Box. Combined with some of the Starfinder Scenarios and Quests. I think it would be the right direction to go. One of the complaints last year was the lack of Starfinder in the Academy Area.

I do think also for the Academy Area we should reduce the number of tables, being offered in the Sag and see if we can get a demo table in the kids area that is put on by GenCon. It would reach more exposure for the Academy and New people for Academy.

I do feel we could probably teach PS2 if we kept it simple with a basic quest line and a Quick Start Guide.

I think the Lesson plans need to be rewritten for the Academy with the both the New Systems in mind.

New Systems, New Academy :D

My 2 cents.

Never give Up, Never Surrender!!

This would, however, require Paizo support to produce a series of Quests to roll out with the introduction of the Starfinder Beginner's Box to the Academy tables. As busy as they are with PF2, I'm not sure this is on their radar... though it should be. The Pathfinder Beginners Box would never have seen as much acclaim if it hadn't been supported with the PSA program. As it is, one reason this product dropped in popularity was the lack of continued product support--understandable if you want to avoid dividing your customer base. It was because of this that the Transition Lesson plan was written, to move the PSA audience toward regular Core Rulebook play.

I think "taking a year off" with the PSA program would be a mistake. It is the first introduction some kids have to tabletop roleplaying games, and starting them young builds a foundation for the future. If we ignore this program, we risk losing all the momentum and goodwill this has garnered so far. Yes, last year's numbers

...

What about modding one of the current quest sets/whatever is released with the Starfinder Beginner box to work with the lessons that were written for the original PSA material? Or just update the ruleset in beginner and advanced to match that of Starfinder/P2? Lots of that stuff is still very relevant (and I've sat with the tables that really had to start with "what are these dice?") and I think that modifying it, rather than starting from scratch, is the answer for longevity. I also agree with pulling in more of the society content, because as we get these kids transitioned into full adventures, if we have gotten them into society then hopefully they can look for a group to continue with when they go home.

I second everything Lucas said. We want to be teaching the kids the systems going forward, and since we’ve got a beginner box coming for Starfinder, and P2 development purposely looked at having an easier entry point, having kids jump into the systems is a great opportunity for growth. Also, looking at scenarios that could be used for this, for P1 the Goblins ones have been used, so could Skittershot be used for Starfinder? It definitely encourages working together and being “helpful”.

A lot has been said and written about the places that peo0e go for higher education in Golarian, but what about the younger people? Where does one study the basics before they go to these esteemeed schools? Is it in a temple of a good who values knowledge (such as Pharasma), in a small local school house, or something else? I know that the rich and noble families would be able to provide private tutors, but what about everyone else?

Thank you for the update! As far as the playtesting, I have a general question - are we going to get the ability to report other pieces of the Playtest, or are we just to use the Lost Star line for all pieces (I am talking about the OP reporting system, not the surveys).

Thanks!!

Starfinder's only really caught on in one small spot of my area, but hearing the recording of your PBP panel from PaizoCon has me interesting in trying it out that way. You have a good point about most people having already played it though.

Landon, do you want to try it out in PBP? I have a group of four for PBP Gameday VII, but I wouldn’t mind having a second Quonx join my table. We had kind of decided to leave the last two slots of my games to any latecomers or newbies. Would you like to join us there? Let me know, and I’ll give you a link to the table.

Hmm

Hmm, though I've never done play-by-post, I would love to join if you still have space... I am HOPING to find a table of Skittershot to take Stitch (my Skitter Mechanic) to before he levels out of it - OR if you end up running it Sunday night I would be interested, I just don't know what that will look like yet.

According to Jason Bulmahn's Facebook page, the 2E Playtest material has been sent off to the printers. With that in mind, when should we expect to see that material (as well as the scenario) dropped to the few GMs running it at Origins? Being as it is largely a new game system, we need time to both prep the scenario/quest as well and simply learning the game mechanics. Only 34 days (less than five weeks) and counting until the show.

Thank you for asking what has been on my mind as well. I am working to start prepping for Origins, but without this info I am tied to very basic work. While I completely understand that there may be some other paperwork that needs to be processed first (such as NDA's), the sooner we can have this to prepare, the better the experience will be for ALL the players and gms.

The one in Season 9 says it doesn't count because they CAN'T have proof... I had a player get around that now, so story wise they "are" a Linnorm King, even though it does nothing mechanically, its a great piece of the story for a PC who is already from a very well-known family.

Our region does some kids tables. But we are just running regular scenarios. The GMs work to pick not overly dark, plot heavy, or too adult. We also found that kids enjoy playing the goblins. Being able to nuke your sister with magical fire is apparently very appealing. And I have played at a kids table. I think it worked having one non gm experienced player at the table to help them with questions and help the gm cat herd.

I've seen similar in my region. I've also ran games of Confirmation and Wounded Wisp with some minor changes (as in your going and looking for a book in a library, not a bottle of wine at an inn) and those seem to work well. The puzzles are simple enough to be solved, but complex enough to make them think, and they get to beat up some bad guys. Best story is when I had a table with 4 barbarians decide to charge the ------ in Confirmation, and then crit it. Very quick fight that made them feel super powerful.
