I remember them but they haven't ended up in a hardcover bestiary...yet.
Could also use some new types of gargoyles of various alignments and sizes.
There are several of these in Pathfinder Adventure Path #48: Shadows of Gallowspire (which means they could be harvested for a future hardcover Bestiary).

Top 4 Bestiaries:
#1: Bestiary 3 (Many awesome mythology monsters and most of my all-time Pathfinder favorites are in this book.)
#2: Bestiary 2 (Mostly because of the awesome demons, devils and especially dragons and daemons in the book, also many awesome creatures from AP's and Mythology, and most of my favorite Lovecraft critters)
#3: Bestiary 4 (Some of my ultimate favorites are in this book, but also most of my least favorites, too much Lords and less creatures than in the other books.)
#4: Bestiary 1 (D&D-copy fest, not a big fan of that.)

Quote:All real-world non-extinct Animals and FamiliarsQuestion, do you think such things shouldn't be in the bestiaries? If so, where would you put their stats? Admittedly, an Animal Codex might not be a half-bad idea now that I think about it....
Indeed I think Animal Codex is the best place for them, BUT I actually don't mind them that much in bestiaries, but still prefer other monsters over them as I don't find them monsters. Still it is sometimes fun to fight a Panther among Vishkanya or a White Shark among Sahuagin.

I'm hoping this Bestiary does not have quite so many "Outsiders".
They have been disproportionately present in the past 4 volumes.
This may be the result of outsider diversification. We have a ton of different outsider groups, and every one has its fans. So, they're under pressure to produce something for every group at one time or another.

Personally I hope there are more, I mean, each plane is an an entire universe. Each with the potential of having as much life (or more) as the material plane.

I kinda agree, but I understand that they have too push the limits because like Kalindlara said, every group of them has many fans!
Of all outsider groups I mostly care for the Div to be added too, they have some very VERY nice mythology creatures that still need to be added. (And the Shira, Aghash, Sepid, Pairaka and especially the Ghawwas are among my favorite paizo creatures.)
Demons, Daemons and Devils are cool too, but there are too many of them right now. Though there are some AWESOME Daemons still left from other products that need to get their asses into a Bestiary. All the demons from the AP's aren't my favorites and I personally hope they won't be in Bestairy 5.
Never cared for any Good Aligment so all those I personally wouldn't miss in the Bestiaries, but they are always there anyway. Agathions are my favorites if I have to choose, Archons are nice too. Angels are mostly beautiful people with wings and the group of Bralani too so I dislike those.
I liked the Rakshasa better as single creature, only other Rakshasa I like is the sword Raktavarna but that doens't have to be a Rakshasa for me, just a creature that has something to do with rakshasa, would be a cool construct.
Oni I could become a fan of, but all these elemental giants getting even more versions isn't my thing, but some Tengu, Kitsune Oni's in the bestiaries are cool though, but the Bestiary 3 Oni's kinda spoiled it for me, liked none of them.
Aeon, Qlippoth and Ineviatable never cared for them. Probably my 3 least favorite outsider groups together with Oni and Rakshasa.
The Asura are also not my favorites, I only liked the snake and the jointed-twins, but those names are all so a-like its hard to keep them appart. I still like to see more.
Kytons, there are a lot of cool ones, but also a lot of similar ones that I can't keep appart. But I overal like this group.
Demodand, not really a huge fan, but I like them anyway, I like them to be only 3 species though, no need to expand everything.
Protean, this group really needs more manpower, as it's really underwhelmed at the moment, I like their chaotic powers so more are welcome for me personally.
Are Kami outsiders too? Forgot. But eventhough they come from mythology, I don't care for these good natured creatures. I always skip their pages without reading much into them.
I love the Formians, but they don't need more units.
Psychopomp, not really a huge fan (yet), but I like them a 100 times more than Aeons, and some of them are soo cool, and some come from mythology!
House, Garden and Kitchen Elementals, never cared for these pokemon-like things, I liked named Elementals (like Raiju = lightning elemental and Ifrit = fire elemental)much more.
Genie, they are nice, love the Marid, Efreet and especially the Shaitan, but no need to have more, maybe a light, ice and dark version though.
Mostly the single Outsiders are cool in my book, really like the outsiders that aren't from a group like the Dorvae and Salamander.
The thing about outsiders that I like least is that 90% of them is humanoid in shape.
Milo v3 |

I prefer descriptive elementals (though I doubt there would ever be elementals like you satirized considering they'd be constructs), since it means that named outsiders can have flavour that more accurately matches their mythologies, while still having beings that are made purely out of their element.
Myth Lord |
Many elementals could just be golems, like the Ice Golem = Ice Elemental, but in D&D you have the Chraal, which are creatures created from Black Ice, such elementals are my preference, they have stories, they have cool designs, can shapeshift (in the case of Raiju which can be an animal but also a pure lightning elemental) which I like more than just an raw element.
Gravity Elementals and such strange elementals are still an option though, but still not a huge fan of that.

Golems should not replace elementals... since golems aren't anything like elementals flavourwise. One is a construct made by a mage, one is the embodiment of planar material. Also, in D&D not only are their Chraal, but there are ice elementals, so that also goes with my "have the defaults x elementals, and the non-standards have specific names". Finally, I think it's good that not every creature has stories, sometimes you want something simple that you can chuck into any setting.

Well at least i'm giving that two-headed dog enough post to put on his favorite list.
He should thank me instead of hating me, most of his favorite-posts are responses to me. Lol
Luthorne |
Thanks Luthorne, couldn't remember.
I would love more named elementals since they are ones you can summon or create if your kineticist.
Well, I think it's been implied that there will be aether elementals. Bit doubtful there will be void or wood elementals, though, but we'll have to see.

comments on some of the artwork
Pakalchi Sahkil: Wow. that art does not not make whatever they are going through look pleasant.
Wyrmwraith: HI DRAGON GHOST. seriously though, the idea that a dragon can die, and its vengeful angry ghost can show up to mess up the person that just killed it, and probably throw in the killer's family, village, country and so on in that regard as well. Not Very nice.
Veela:...Im not exactly sure what to make of this one. the art is really good though.
Fastachee: Oh my. mini scarecrow looking fellows. i wanna say hi to them
Roiling Oil:The name is not a nice sounding one, and i'm pretty certain its another member of the Ooze family. In any case, if i see a black patch of floor, roof, wall or liquid start to make any unnatural movements for that kind of substance, I am going to stay the hell away from it until some one else checks.
Lotus Leshy:SO CUUUTE.
Dream Dragon:Meet the dragon of your wildest imaginations...or is it in your wildest imaginations. Either way, HOPE TO THE GODS that its on your side because a dragon that possibly inflicts sleep with its breath weapon, or wields the untapped power of the dream world is no joke. It might take the form of a pink fluffy dragon, BUT THIS THING WILL KICK YOUR ASS, OR MURDER YOU IN YOUR SLEEP.
Lead Golem:Remember this. Unless you have crazy poison resistance to metallic based poison, or are sure not to drink from the contaminated water supply. DON'T LET THIS THING GET ANYWHERE NEAR THE FRESH WATER SUPPLY/SOURCES!! If it dies on land, melt it down and sell the lead to people who want it, and never dump the body into the river(its a good way to accidentally kill everyone that drinks from that river). though if your players are particularly morally bankrupt, they might just make killing a villain easier by putting chunks of dead lead golem in the main water supply of the villain and simply wait for the metal-poison non-resistant ones to die off from thirst or lead-poisoning. To make money from the innocent, simply put the chunks of lead golem in the drinking water, then sell purified water or purifying powder to the people for a profit. once you've made enough, fish the pieces out of the water supply, and then leave before somebody twigs that you might have been responsible for the mass poisoning. Go to another town, far enough a way from the first, and repeat.

The Lead Golem reminds me of an idea I had for the Mythological Symplegades/Planctae/Twin Rocks.
Twin Rock Golems that crush prey between the two of them and they work together. This seems like a single twin, at least what I had in mind, cool to finally see a picture that somewhat matches that creature, though its not a twin.

Because I don't know what they are, a groupname or a single creature, or maybe even the mutant from the Inner Sea Bestiary. But added it to the list anyway.
Forgot about the wysps, so thanks for the heads up!
I'm also pretty sure the half Sleipnir half Frost Giant (Forgot their name, Svartaffurum or something like that) will be in Bestiary 5, as its kinda like Paizo's little lovebird that gets extreme attention in pictures and mentions. I will be surprised if that creature isn't in bestairy 5, but could be wrong.

though if your players are particularly morally bankrupt, they might just make killing a villain easier by putting chunks of dead lead golem in the main water supply of the villain and simply wait for the metal-poison non-resistant ones to die off from thirst or lead-poisoning.
This plan has my seal of approval!

I am 100% sure it won't, because it was reprinted in the Monster Codex, and so is already in a world neutral RPG line book.

Never bought that book, so didn't knew that. I don't really mind, they are cool, but not my favorites.

Wesley Schneider was searching for information about the Kaster (the pretty male with gems on its body) some time ago, I wonder if that creature made it into the Bestiary 5.
Also a question, are Oil and Lead fantasy materials or are they more for ScienceFiction, futuristic games? Never seen anything Oil or Lead in a fantasy game/world. Well there is the Ikuchi of course, but other than that sea serpent never seen it, mostly they use tar.
Lead is the stuff they create bullets from right? But did people in the middleages/medieval times also used lead?
Not that I mind, just curious.
