Pollux proves surprisingly useful in assisting Opera in setting up the tent.
"Fair Carcossa is below the horizon this month so it's not that dangerous to sleep beneath the eternal void."
Once the tent is up Pollux starts arranging the wood for a fire. Castor darts about finding dry moss, twigs and a fresh bird skull to use as kindling.
"A fire will draw less attention than the tent will in the moonlight. People move through here on occasion. Besides one should never pass up an opportunity to set something on fire."
Unless stopped Pollux will light the campfire just a little too close to the tent.

"Yes it does." Pollux says as the fire bursts into life.
Staring into flams with Castor on their shoulder the stranger begins to speak-sing with an odd cadence.
"The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere Now mind is clear The ceremony of innocence is drowned; as a cloudless sky. The best lack all conviction, while the worst Time then to make a home in wilderness Are full of passionate intensity."
Same. What worries me is that it'll take decades to complete at this pace, even if the GM comes back.
It is not the end of the journey that is important it is the spleens you eat along the way.
Seriously. PBP Adventure paths never reach the end of the story. At least not that I have seen. The format is just too fragile and too slow. You have to enjoy it while it lasts.
Monks Actually Monks do get Martial Discipline as part of the Monk edge and that gives +1 toughness when wearing no armor. And as they go up in rank they can get Deflection and Protection powers so there is that. A high Fighting and Vigor are recommended for them though.
AB vs full caster. This is a BIG difference between SW and PF. In PF when you level you automatically get better at a whole bunch of things. This is just the way class levels work. You get more spells, hp, spell slots etc.
In SW when you get an advance you pretty much get better at one thing. Either one or two skills improve OR a stat improves OR you get one to three new spells or you get more power points. So taking an AB will get you 3 powers and a handful of points to fuel them but that is nothing like what a class level in a full caster class gets you in PF. There is no automatic improvement. Everything is a trade off.
Multi-classing This is totally possible in SW. When you hit seasoned you can absolutely take the first edge in another class. If you wanted to you could have edges in at least 4 different classes when you hit Legendary.
Discussion forum I try to keep char-gen off the discussion page. I'll drop a message there for the crew to highlight that you are here and I expect folks will drop by pretty soon. Until then you will have to be satisfied with talking to me, :7) and cruising the character sheets of course.
In the meantime, how about you toss me the interlude from the first post on this page? It gives me an idea of writing style and might be something I could mine for ideas. Plus I just like the idea of Interludes.

I am a little cheesed, but at the game designers rather than anyone here.
I agree our only option if Albert and the King want to live is running flat out for the river and hoping neither the skull nor the lizard men want to follow.
I expect if we run like the cowards we are that the "God" will let us go. It will need to reestablish control of the tribe since we created a small power vacuum when we killed the L-King.
Letting us go is not the best tactical play for the skull but it is in keeping with genre/villain behavior.
I think our kindly GM has lamp-shaded that the run away plan will work so I urge all involved to leg it with all possible speed.
Esp since our king does not have their sword (dropped when you died and I did not grab it when I dragged you away) so attacking is even more futile than normal. Think about this, a 27! missed. Look at your attacks, you will be hitting on a 20. We are simply outclassed.
Assuming that works we can come back with 3rd level wands of MM for Rillka, Albert, and Rhavi and Resist energy potions for everyone and pound this thing into mulch.
As Khalid (I am playing Baldur's Gate I EE at the moment) would say "Better part of valor! Better part of valor!"

Seeing that most things are under control Pollux removes some chalk from the unspecified recesses of the yellow coat and begins drawing disturbing symbols on the pathway.
{I.e. You all appear to have things handled. All we need to do now is vanish.}
Maintaining a good pace is TOUGH. I've tried on my games to keep them moving but sometimes( like right now) you just hit a WALL.
Or life intervenes and things get hectic. And then you feel bad because you are behind. And then you avoid going on the boards because you feel bad because you are behind. And then you are MORE behind and then somebody steals the perfectly good heart you had ripening under the floorboards. And the whole world explodes.
Barring other actions Jzero will arrive first followed in four rounds by Ceri and Ceven and then Mirri and Velrek ten rounds after that.
{Wow monks can move fast. Per core pg 123 out of combat folks move 2x(pace+max run die) So Jzero 28, Mirri 18, everyone else 24. The gate is ~400 ft away so (400/6)~67". Jzero gets there in (67/28) in 23 rounds or 2.3 minutes. Mirri in 3.7 minutes. and everyone else in 2.7 minutes.
So Jzero you can arrive up to 4 rounds ahead of the main group. How many rounds ahead are you arriving?
Velrek, Ciri, Ceven, You can arrive up to 10 rounds ahead of Mirri. How many rounds ahead of her are you arriving? Be aware that depending on Jzero's decisions being closer to Mirri may mean being farther from Jzero
It is possible for Jzero to carry Mirri. This will make them encumbered dropping their time to 2.7 min. Valrek could also carry Mirri but encumbered he has the same time as Mirri on her own.}

Feel free to respond to Ceven even if you are also posting about things that you want to happen before he gets here. Time is an illusion, in pbp doubly so.
First the festival. You were busy from before dawn getting things ready. I mean it was fun but it was also a lot of work.
Then the world turned upside down and there were goblins everywhere. You
got separated from Amiko somewhere on Junker's Way and ended up on Cliff Street. You worked your way northward dodging arrows and ambushing a couple of goblins while getting people moving deeper into town or at least into Stone buildings.
Now you are near the North Gate and you can see it is Open!
Worst than that some goblins have made in inside. You see one goblin riding a dog-like beast of some kind with several more of the animals nearby. They are circiling an armored figure wielding warhammer looking for an opening. Nearby a War Chanters and a handfull of goblins are cowering against a wall seemingly pinned there by a large hunting dog barking madly. Wait a minute, you know that dog! It is one of the favorites of your friend Aldren!
There he is! Behind a a couple of barrels. He looks hurt and the armored figure is slowly drawing the goblin dog-beasts and rider away from him.
You are not sure how much longer this stalemate can last, but you know it will take more than you, the armored person and a wounded noble to get that gate closed. You send a blast of magic towards the War Chanter and bolt down Church Street. If help is anywhere it is at the Cathedral..
You see some figures in the square and redouble your efforts. You barely notice that you are bleeding and you near them...
You have 1 wound. You are full on power-points. Assume you just spent a benny to replace any you used up until now. You have no active spells up at the moment.
Evesk
The first interlude is something about your life before Sandpoint/game start. Second is how you spent the festival before everything blew up.
I am assuming that you either got swept into the Cathedral and then ended up near the North gate/Tomb Street perhaps helping get people into the shelter of the fireproof Cathedral.
Double check anything it gives you. I have found several mistakes in what it produces. The most common is not increasing the cost of a skill once it exceeds the governing attribute. Especially if you tweak skill and attribute several times as you work on the character.
Savaged.us is a very good tool. But consider what it gives you a rough draft.
Hey all. Thumbs is going to be playing Hansel and Gretel in the hundred acre woods from August 29th to Sept 3/4. Contact will be limited especially if I can steal all the white pebbles.
Answers are solid. Hop into the Evil Lounge (discussion page) put on some music and start building your actual character. The group has advanced a bit from starting but build Gilgamesh as a Novice rank III super. Once that is done we can add in new bits.

Assuming Pollux can at least brush against him every minute or so and the intermittent muttering doesn't get on anyone's nerves Variel will find his mind and body more steady than either should be. Jzero brought up an issue with SW that annoys me. Advantageous/higher ground does not give a bonus. I feel that doing things like jumping on tables should be rewarded so....
Proposed: Higher/advantageous ground grants a +1 parry to the advantaged side. Examples are standing on a table, or standing on dry ground while your opponent is standing in greasy mud.
Thoughts? To fiddly? Overly advantages a specific play-style? Seems reasonable?
+1 parry may be too big an advantage but it was what first came to mind. I am very open to other suggestions.
Testing it now with Jzero on the table in the courtyard. Have to see how next turn goes.

comments. I do not have access to the Cevendyl v3 file so I used the version under the "v3" spoiler. You overspent a bit but your cash on hand will cover it. Otherwise all correct.
Just put this into an alias so we know what token to make for you and I will weave you in.
Please post your arrival (bird) post, your initial Interval, festival Interval if any, and your reaction to the speeches post behind spoiler tags to limit disruption as you catch up to the current moment.
You are not present in the courtyard with the other players yet. You will be entering soon though. I have not determined your entry point so do not mention anything about where you start in your posts. You will not get a Chaos action as the other players did but if there is something you want to do to prep that does not rely on being in the square and does not draw on player knowledge of the Goblin attack then run it past me and it will likely be fine. I realize this is a very slight disadvantage but consider it the price for coming in mid conflict.
The most likely reason for you not being present for this part of the excitement is that you were swept up with the exiting crowed. But if you can come up with a better reason for your delay I am open.
Mirri Since you are not otherwise distracted and as you are indulging your curiosity....Notice, wild:1d6 ⇒ 61d6 ⇒ 3. Ace:1d6 ⇒ 2. Total 8.
You hear screaming, shouting, and tumult coming from most directions. But underneath it is something.. Rhythmic? You are not sure what it is or exactly where it is coming from. The church square's acoustics are great for speeches but the buildings bounce ambient sounds all over the place.
You strain your ears and brain a bit. It's noise, not too different from the screaming but this noise is organized.....
Hope you didn't mind me stepping into your shoes there. You had a spare action that was about to vanish so I hopped in. Please let me know if this is trespassing and I will cheese it immediately. ~PWGM
I have the no-gear version with the Darksight power but I don't think you want to walk into a fight naked and carrying a large bag of cash. Or maybe you do, I don't judge. You do you.
Well If you are looking for something to replace Darksight you might want to consider Beast Friend. In Pathfinder terms it combines Speak with animals and Charm animals. The main use I see you getting out of this power is using it to verbally direct Rising Star (and later Animals summoned if you take the Summon Nature's allies power) in combat/stressful situations.
Rising Star is loyal and will try to do what you want but they are not a familiar. They do not understand any language. So they cannot relay anything they saw while scouting or hunting. They cannot understand complex instructions without an action and a persuasion or intimidation check by you. "Go get that key" for example would take a roll as a hawk has no idea what a key is.
Beast Friend bypasses all of this as Rising Star could understand you and vice versa. There has been some discussion about the worth of the Beast Master edge given that the Beast Friend power exists. And I will admit that there is some overlap. I think the best way to resolve the issue is to allow a Beast Master's pet while under the effect of the Beast Friend power to understand complex instructions and interact as if they did not have the (A) after their smarts. In other words the spell makes them fully intelligent though they can still only speak to the caster of Beast Friend.
For comparison a non-Beast Master's pet animal while under the effect of Beast Friend can communicate and is loyal to you but is still limited by their (A) animal intelligence so some concepts may be too complex to them.
This is all off the top of my head so It probably needs more work. What do you think Rising Star should be able to do for you both with and without help from Beast Friend?
Until you actually have a character please refrain from posting in either the discussion thread or especially in the game play thread. How is that character coming by the way?
The chaos actions are perfect. I am giving this a little more time before moving on. I am hoping Lucien returns or our final player gets finished and caught up.
Thinking 2 days at the most but I am hoping for 1.

.The stray dog running flat out after or away from something.
.A well dressed man shouts in surprise and pain as they trip. A fresh gash marking their calf.
.Hemlock at the Cathedral door shoving people in to keep the doors clear for more.
.A short peg-legged man standing on a table. Shouting and waving the crowd towards the western exit from the square
.A column of smoke rising to the south. The smell just arriving.
.An acolyte leaps onto the stage. Shouting to draw the crowd towards the shelter of the stone building.
.A leather stein still somehow full of ale sitting upright on the ground as the crowd parts around it.
.Amiko Kaijitsu leading the flow down the street to the west.
.Two waiters lifting the peg-legged man and beginning to run.
Everyone most of the crowd will be clear once all the players have posted their chaos actions. Apparently the citizens of Sandpoint are a bit brighter than the average Gothamite or denizen of Metropolis. When things get weird, they run.
Noon arrives and with it the official beginning of the equinox and the festival.
As with all things civic this begins with speeches
The turnout for the opening speeches is quite
respectable. The cathedral square seems to be the place to see and be seen. The four keynote speakers each deliver short but well-received welcomes to the festival.
Mayor Deverin’s friendly attitude and excitement proves contagious as she welcomes visitors to town. She jokes about how even
Larz Rovanky, the local cobbler (and notorious workaholic), managed to tear himself away to attend, much to everyone’s amusement (except Larz’s).
Do they mention you? If so are you made the butt of the Mayor's sometimes caustic humor?
Sheriff Belor Hemlock brings the crowd down a bit with his dour mood. He gives a reminder to be safe around the evening’s bonfire and requests a moment of silence to remember those who lost their lives in the fire that destroyed the town’s previous church several years ago.
Several people in the crowd mutter. You might catch the phrase "the late unpleasantness." There seems to be some debate weather Hemlock showed good taste in bringing it up.
The next speaker was scheduled to be local nobleman Lonjiku Kaijitsu, but a sudden illness has prevented him from attending the ceremony. This news causes some scattered laughter as apparently Lonjiku's dislike for public functions is very well known.
Are you enjoying the festival? Or is mingling with the many headed something you would happily run a mile to avoid?
Sandpoint’s own showman Cyrdak Drokkus is more than up to the challenge of bringing the crowd’s mood back up with his rousing anecdotes. He delivers a not-completely-irreverent recap of the long
process the town went through to finance and construct the new cathedral. Somehow they manage to make the history of the construction and the listing of important partons both interesting and amusing. He throws in a bit of self-promotion at the end inviting everyone to stop by the Sandpoint Theater the following evening. Cyrdak entices people to attend his new production of “The Harpy’s Curse,” revealing that the lead role of Avisera the harpy queen will be played by none other than the famous Magnimarian diva Allishanda!
Did you find the political minutia interesting or did your attention wander? Are you considering attending the play? Or is theater too frivolous?
Finally, Zantus the new head priest recounts a short parable of how Desna fell to earth and was nursed back to health by a blind child. Then as a reward, Desna transformed the child into an immortal butterfly.
At the climax of the story acolytes scattered around the edge of the square open baskets and cages releasing thousand's of Children of Desna: a furious storm of swallowtail butterflies. They swarm into the air in a spiraling riot of color to a great cheer from the crowd.
Throughout the rest of the day, children futilely chase butterflies, never quite quick enough to catch them.
Do you try? You can't catch one either but somehow it isn't frustrating.
For five years, the faithful of Sandpoint have attended church in a series of temporary structures erected or borrowed after fire destroyed the previous temple. While their new religious leader was helpful, kind, and wise, and apparently more popular that the former head priest who died when the old church burned, the church wasn’t the same. Now, the new cathedral is finally done. All that remains is for the Swallowtail Festival to renew the site’s blessings from the gods, and it will be as if the Sandpoint Fire had never occurred.
Afternoon to late afternoon
Numerous games and contests take place during the day, including sack races, hide and-seek, weight-lifting challenges, balance
beam contests, tug-of-war events, egg-and-spoon, waiters/barkeep's marathon and the like. You can take part in as many or as few of these games as you wish. The stakes are never more than a few coppers or bragging rights but win or lose you are becoming a part of Sandpoint.
You can also ret-con freely later that you met person so-and-so at the festival. This is the day when Nobles and beggars and strangers can share a drink at the same table.
Lunch for the festival is provided free, at the expense of Sandpoint’s taverns. Each brings its best dishes—as much a marketing push by the local taverns to win new over customers as to feed a hungry crowd. It soon becomes apparent that the darling of the lunch is, once again, Ameiko Kaijitsu of the Rusty Dragon. Her remarkable curry-spiced salmon and early winterdrop mead easily overshadow the other offerings, such as the Hagfish’s lobster chowder or the White Deer’s peppercorn venison.
Did the right dish win? Did you try them all? Did you partake a bit too much?
Sunset
Finally, as the sun begins to set, Zantus takes the central podium, uses a thunderstone to attract everyone’s attention, and clears his throat as he prepares to recite the Prayer of First Dreaming.
You are in the courtyard. Either willingly or swept along by the crowd.
I can assure you that several of the other players will happily sell you to the V'sori if you look to be bringing too much of a threat home. Your secret getting out will cause collateral damage.
I am leaning towards disallowing this background if combined with a desire to publicize your resurrection/existence. Dr. Destroyer would happily make use of you but not as a cell member. You would be an expendable distraction or a single-use weapon. You would not be allowed into the organization. You are too much of a risk.
Now without the desire to publicize and instead a desire to keep your secret. That could work.
If you see things otherwise please help to see this the way you are seeing it.
Upon reflection I think we might be having a tone/expectation issue. This happened with another player and caused issues that led them to drop.
Most supers stores are generally positive. Powerful heroes saving the world sort of thing. Even in villain stories the villain generally moves against forces not too far above their own power level. Or they have a gimmick or edge to level things. More importantly, even in villain stories the outlook is generally positive. The world is not destroyed. If the hero is killed there is a twist that returns things to the status-quo.
This is even more common in supers games. These are wonder power fantasies where players get to punch the baddies through walls, fly through the sun, and speed clean their suspiciously large centrally located apartment. These are great games, I play them, I love them.
Necessary Evil is NOT one of those games. It is quite possibly the darkest game background I have encountered. And I am including Wraith in this where an important character question is "what does the wound that killed you look like".
Necessary Evil is dark because humanity has lost. The V'sori are smarter than us, stronger than us and more numerous than us. They literally have multiple planets of resources to draw on. There is no rescue coming, there is no trick to level the field. We lost. Starcity is the LAST human city that you know is still standing. When your character enters play they are as doomed as Robin Hood. The characters in Necessary Evil are not fighting because they think they will win. They are fighting to survive. Some my fight out of anger, or greed, or fear or even the blind hope that there is a way to win even if we don't know what it is and may never know.
Now you as a player know that there is a path to victory the look of the book and the advertising blurbs would be much different if this was Blake's 7 the RPG and your doom was fixed. I as a GM can tell you that that path is long and it is winding and I fully expect to kill several PC's along the way and I am not a killer GM.
I hope the above made sense, I may have painted a slightly darker picture than actual play will provide but I am trying my best to align our expectations.
Everyone
Before things get funky I suggest you take a look at the Bennies section on pages 119-120 of the SWPF core book to see just how useful those things can be.
Proposed I: Katanas lose their +1 to damage and the Two-handed tag. They gain the following note. "May be used in two hands and gains +1 damage if so used."
Proposed II: Any single handed weapon that does not otherwise gain a benefit from being used in two hands will gain +1AP when used in two hands.
The clause in the second proposal is to prevent weapons like Spears and Bastard swords from gaining two benefits from two handed use.
Anybody hate this? Or otherwise think this will cause more problems than fun?
Looks like you answered an earilier iteration of the question list. No harm done. This thread has seen a lot of use.
The current questions are here:
a) What is your concept? Give me a one or two sentence description of your character.
b) Do you have, or will you pledge to get if selected, access to: The Savage Worlds Adventure Edition rule book (AKA SWADE), The Super Powers Companion Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (AKA SPC3), and the Necessary Evil Players guide? I can help if you are not sure where to get these.
c) What do you look like? Hair/eye color? Height and Weight? Costume? Think of your mug shot/wanted poster.
d) What can you do? What separates you from the masses? Brains? Training? Acidic blood? Magic tea cozy?
e) What have you done? What separates you from a random survivor? Describe a typical crime. There is a reason you could not be at the welcoming ceremony with Champion. If you are a hero give me an example of your heroism and tell me why you were not incinerated for standing up for Earth?
f) How familiar are you with Savage Worlds as a system? Note familiarity is NOT required. It is not a highly complex system but it does have its rough points. I and the other players are more than happy to lend a hand.
g) What have you been doing lately? How have you spent the last two years under V'sori occupation? The campaign starts the players as prisoners of the V'sori invaders. Were you a prisoner? If so what was the V'sori attitude to you? Indifference? Interest & Interrogation? Experimentation? How long were you in captivity? If you remained free how did you manage that? Friends? Luck? Blending in to the general population?
h) The game is largely set in Star City and you will start there. Is this your home? If so how long have you been active as a meta-human in the City? Do you have family or friends here? If home is somewhere else where is it and is getting there important to you?
i) What have you seen in the world? Detail a hero or a villain or an ordinary person you have ran into, worked with, fought, or just heard about. Maybe a member of Alpha Squadron you tangled with. Maybe a criminal mastermind you worked for. Maybe a taxi driver or whoever ran the newsstand near your old lair. Make them interesting. Think of yourself as pitching a 1 or 2 issue special series for the Necessary Evil comic book we are all creating.
j) What is the greatest thing in life? What is your desired end state/goal. Tell me what is important to you.
k) You are a member of the Omega resistance movement led by Dr. Destroyer (Think Marvel's Dr. Doom). What do you think about this? Are you a willing member? Blackmailed? Given the choice of joining or being sold out to the V'sori to provide a distraction? Maybe you were part of a cell that was destroyed? Have you met Dr. Destruction?
And finally a few words on character generation.
First a full character is NOT required to apply. Just the answers to the questions. That said I know folks will want the detailed info.
Most of what you are looking for in on the Campaign page of this game under the "Character generation guidelines, setting rules and advice" spoiler. But here is the quick version.
Standard SWADE creation rules. With More Skill Points, Born a Hero, and Larger Than Life setting rules in effect. Free SPC style AB Superpowers edge for everyone. See books & Campaign page for many more details.
Restrictions on origins:
No aliens. Atlanteans/Humans or Hybrids are fine. If you really want to play something from off world then make your case but it will not be easy.
No Robots. Cyborgs are fine. You may even think you are a robot but there is meat in there somewhere.
One issue with your proposed background. If you were on that stage with Champion then you were a member of Alpha Squadron, a top flight independent, or a political player with at least Congress member levels of clout. Or you were a guest of someone who fit one of those criteria.
In any case you were seen by the V'sori as a major player. Someone worth removing with extreme prejudice.
Seeing you come back will cause the invaders to pay attention, read panic. This background means you basically have the Secret hindrance at the Major level that will collapse in to the major hindrance Wanted by the V'sori once your identity is known. This hindrance got a special comment on the campaign page. I have reprinted it below.
"Wanted by the V’sori means there is a unit in the V’sori bureaucracy dedicated to hunting you specifically 24/7. You have been warned.'
There is nothing stopping you from using this background. Eventually unless everyone just rolls over and dies you will all have the equivalent of this hindrance. But it would be hitting you harder and earlier than the other players. I just want you to be aware of the consequences if I am understanding your background correctly.
Proposal: Katana looses the two handed tag and the plus one damage while gaining "May be used in two hands and gains +1 damage if so. This basically makes the katana the short sword version of a bastard sword. The +1 damage is actually better than 1AP as it still applies to unarmored folks. This makes the katana identical to the Short sword when used one handed, makes it nearly a Long sword when used two handed. This might work and leaves the Warhammer as the only str d6 single handed weapon with AP.
This idea would be along with the idea that using a single handed weapon in two hands grants +1AP. The katana would still be better than the shortsword as +1damage > +1AP
Of course now that I think about it would adding the full daisho cause issues?
The wakizashi would be stated as a short sword.
The katana would be stated as a bastard sword.
and the nodachi would be stated as a great sword.
Again this would be along with the single used in two hands granting +1AP
This allows a two-sword fighting style with katana which has a certain ring (or five)to it. Gives a reason to use a wakizashi two handed and removes the idea that a badly or standardly(is that a word?)made Japanese sword is intrinsically better than anyone else's sword of equivalent metal made with equivalent skill. Sorry, hobby horse. The aura of mystique around katanas in western, especially geek, culture annoys me. It smacks of orientialism
So in these and in other little ways the day draws on.
The little bird flits through the town witnessing drama, comedy, action, and a bit of romance. It searches for crumbs under the tables in front of the Rusty Dragon. It dodges feet and a well concealed cat in the market place before coming to rest on an ornate gargoyle jutting from the new cathedral.
The square below is far busier than on other days the little bird remembers. Because today is a festival day. Today is the Equinox and in Sandpoint this day is sacred to Desena. The festivities formally begin at noon with the dedication of the new cathedral but even now in the late morning the square is crowded as locals and travelers arrive, and several merchant tents featuring food, contests, clothes, games, local crafts, and souvenirs are there to meet them. Today may be the equinox, a day sacred to Desna, and many of the gods, but for Sandpoint today is a day of festival and the town intends to enjoy it.
Last chance for changes/updates. Please note what you are carrying and wearing to the big noon kickoff. Armor and weapons are fine if you choose to wear/carry them. Normally martial gear would get a look from Sheriff Hemlock but he knows that appearing armed and armored for the kick off is excellent advertising for the adventuring types. Many people have been hired as caravan guards or to accompany traders on the lesser frequented roads after they were seen in full regalia in the square. After the kickoff the rules get a little tighter as happy crowds and heavy weapons do not mix. A word from the sheriff or an escort to the adventurers lodgings or the garrison to drop things off usually does the trick.
If you like either pull a card form a deck and give us an interlude telling us how you enjoyed the festival until the noon dedication.

The hero has a chance to win a great prize in a competition. Perhaps one involving swords, weights, or pies. What happens?
Clubs or 4 on a d4:
Tragedy strikes! Something goes wrong at the festival. Perhaps a festival goer is injured in an accident or a judge in a competition goes missing or someone who has a bit to much liquid fun is causing trouble or embarrassment . How does the hero save the day?
This activity is optional just let me know you are declining so we don't wait for you. Anyone who does participate though gets a shiney new benny. If you roll/draw a suit that someone else has already done of if you just like another suit better feel free to choose one that speaks to you.
And for those of you who perhaps tire of all this happiness, joy, and music, do not despair fire and death have also been invited to Sandpoint…

Nothing in the discussion thread ever matters. It is a place for questions and general yakking of no importance. I called it the green room as a pun linking the theatrical green room with the green dragon room in the rusty dragon tavern. But none of this matters as nothing in the discussion thread ever matters to the game play thread.
Exterior. Morning. Late summer. One or two clouds in a perfect blue sky.
A grey-blue bird is flying above a forest, seemingly following the well tended road below towards a town sheltered between a glittering river and the sun soaked sea.
The bird dives wings tuck then flare as it lands on a simple wooden sign reading "Sandpoint". A rider canters past their horse relaxed. The bird takes wing flying towards the city.....
Please you are much more a Robin. You attract attention, like bright colors, and will ultimately get mainly killed by a pinstriped clown with a crowbar.
Well the TK artist we have is strongly focused on a TK ranged attack. Another character has basic level TK so there is some room in the TK field but not too much.
Other concepts? The group lacks a brick or a traditional Energy Projector. I would say they lack a speedster but they are VERY annoying in pbp. So maybe a teleporter? Or a stretcher, shrinker/giant, a Raven/Doc Strange type. A flying hand to hand type like Angel from the X-men. Anything you want to play really .
Two things to note. Very few additional Super Power Points will be available as your character moves up in rank so there will not be that much room to develop new powers.
As far as the gm assuming control thing that looks like Reckless or Power Negation hindrances in the SPC. Details and the value of these hindrances would of course be dependent on Exactly how frequently you want the loss of control to occur.
And remember I need the answers to the questions as well.
Mirri, Ciri, Velrek, Lucien, Rhodel, and Jzero head on over to the discussion thread, talk among yourselves and finalize anything that needs finalizing. Everyone with powers make sure you choose your Complex Cantrips.
Go time is two days at the latest Pacific time. Less if I don't hear from Evindyl or Inrk. So if either of you see this get a move on!

Pollux's face goes blank and in the most emotionally expressive voice you have heard than use they say "I have no living relatives."
Returning after a pause to their usual affect "Hope like reason, sanity, compound interest, and the horse collar are the fife and drum that make us dance. I understand you do not hear this music.' Pollux pauses grimacing and continues, speaking carefully and with clear effort.
"...understand you do not think this way." Easier now "I accept this. I do not like it but that matters naught. If you were not Variel I could not be Pollux." Their face looking like a six year old whu has just made a momentous decision the stranger continues. "You wish the dogs to live. Then as a favor they will ignore any dart or parsley I command."
Remember Complex Cantrips (Advanged Guide pg 98) are in use.
