"Withdrawal from the schedule or a reduction of a GM’s schedule as a result of not being assigned a room may result in the loss of rewards and/or a removal from consideration for Gen Con 2022 or future major conventions."
Point of clarification: It feels really disingenuous to say "We expect you to bear a pretty big financial burden if you aren't selected for a room and volunteer the same amount of time as someone who is getting a room for no additional reward."
Will there be any other compensation offered if a GM is not given a room block or could something be offered if a GM were willing to opt out of needing a room?
It's very unlikely I will be attending GenCon. The problem is, I already have a scheduled vacation at the end of September. Origins moved to that weekend, so Origins was out for me. And with GenCon moving so close to that same time frame, it's unlikely work will let me take the time off.
According to the GenCon forums, anyone who bought a badge and rolled it over from last year will definitely be allowed to attend or you have the option of rolling it over again to 2022 (which I'm going to do), after that, they will be selling the remainder until they meet the capacity limit. They've also said depending on how things play out, they may be able to release more batches of badges as it gets closer if restrictions are lightened.
catfolk boons that sold for thousands, androids which were similar,
I just wanted to point out that those were sold to raise money for Charities, not Paizo. Every year they do Silent Charity auctions for interesting boons like Androids, Catfolk etc. They aren't selling them to make any profit. All of the proceeds go to the specific Charity or Charities they are sponsoring that year.
Well, along those lines, a lot of the scenarios in 2E do call out when an item in the Treasure Bundles are only in the higher Subtier.
As such, per the Guide, as the treasure doesn't exist in Low Tier, you would cross off the item on the Chronicle Sheet because the players did not earn the Treasure Bundle Corresponding to that item i.e. the high tier version of the Treasure Bundle.
I mentioned this under the GenCon 2019 Request for PFS thread:
I was lucky enough to get both Parts of the Passing the Torch Scenario, however, due to the chaotic nature of Event Registration, I ended up with the tickets in wrong order.
My Part 1 ticket is for Saturday at 2 pm.
My Part 2 ticket is for Saturday at 8 am.
I am hoping somebody might be willing to trade one of their versions of Part 1 or 2: either Part 1 any time on Thursday or Friday, or Part 2 during the 9 am slot.
I managed to snag a ticket for both parts but unfortunately in the wrong order.
I got part 2 for Saturday at 8 am and part 1 at 2 pm. I’m hoping somebody on the forums is willing to trade my part one for a ticket on Thursday or Friday or is willing to trade their Sunday part 2 for my Saturday part 2.
The Embassy Suites Lobby has a number of tables/booths that are open for anyone to use for Gaming, not just hotel guests. It's near their restaurant, so you can walk over and order food/drink etc.
The only time it's not really open to the public is during Breakfast (usally 6 am to 10:30 am, you have to show a Room card to get in.)
That said, usually for the duration of GenCon, many groups use it to meet and play games throughout the day, and well into the night.
To sweeten the pot, I have the following Boons:
Professional Reputation
Mounted Tradition
Elemental Voyager
Niche Specialist
On-the-Job Training
Seen it Once
So, I'm going to suggest a rather crazy Charity boon here (very wishful thinking but could potentially raise a fair amount of money ):
Test of the Starstone
This boon may only be used at GenCon. Allows player to attempt a special one-on-one challenge. Record your PFS and Character on one of the lines below. If the challenge is successful, the character is permanently retired and becomes a legal god in Golarion. If the challenge is failed, the character is considered permanently dead as all availble prestige must be immediately spent to allow another character to take this challenge.
You would work with Paizo to develop successful the portfolio of this new god, and you may designate a new character to play the first high priest of this new diety, which would provide some benefit worked out between you and Paizo.
(Essentially, other than the slight bonus as a new high priest, this boon would just allow a character to be a new god and considered in Canon.)
I'm new to pathfinder Society and I love the idea, I just hate these silly race restrictions, Honestly I would like a Dhampire race boon, So I can make a legal standard character, I don't have anything to trade but maybe a Price can be sorted out. Just message me or email me thank you~!
It's somewhat frowned upon to offer real money for the Paizo boons. However, some people do take books/minis/paizo gift certificates in exchange for boons. You may considering offering that.
I know that feat
You played with it once upon a dream
I know that archtype
That look in a player's eyes so familiar a gleam
And I know that Additional Resources are seldom what they seem
But if I know you, and I know what you'll do
If they legalize it, the way you built it once upon a dream.
Gods rest ye merry Pathfinders
Let nothing you dismay
Remember good lord Aroden
Ascended on this Day
To save us all from Rovagug
By locking him away
Bringing Tidings of Comfort and Joy
Comfort and Joy
Tidings of Comfort and Joy
Inspired by Lord Aroden
Ascended Iomedae
Norgorber snuck into godhood
To Aroden's dismay
While taking on a drunken dare
Cayden Cailean found a way
Bringing tidings of bravery and ale
Bravery and ale

On the ninth day of Christmas, John Compton gave to me
Nine Rogues-a-Sneaking
Eight Unchained Eidolons
Seven Summoners Summoning
Six psychics-a-spelling
FIVE ARCHETYPES!
Four fey boons,
Three brand new bloodlines,
Two grippli gloves,
And a legal feat from page three.

Spoiler:
In order to secure Madame Zelekharti's cooperation with Grand Master Torch, their plan was to throw the most epic rager Eto has ever seen. At each of the other tasks, they spread rumors about who was attending, booked merchants, bands, adult entertainers, and offered VIP invites to people that helped them spread the word/accomplish their goals.
During the party, they convinced Madame Zelekharti to work for Grand Master Torch due to all the business he would bring in, and thus she could collect even more secrets.
In the morning, one of the party members who was a Kitsune with Realistic Likeness impersonated Grand Master Torch and "signed" for the bill they had racked up of 30,000gp worth of drinks, damages, and other assortments.
The text of boon says when any of your characters would earn a sheet that has one of the elemental affinity boons on it.
To me that says you could get credit for the affinity boon for each of the sheets, even if they are applied to different characters than the one that earned the Elemental affinity boon.
I was looking on the Winter Fantasy website to see if any volunteers were needed to run PFS games, but I haven't seen them put any up, and haven't seen any boards about it yet.
Will there be any PFS games at Winter Fantasy 2017?
Here's the two weird questions I have concerning the Magus/Esoteric:
A base magus, and many of it's archetypes, have a list of weapon qualities they can add to their weapon when they enhance it with Arcane Pool. Impact is not one of those abilities.
However, the Esoteric Arcane Pool lists Impact as a weapon enhancement they can add, which is odd as Impact normally can't be applied to Light Weapons (which unarmed strikes are).
Does this mean that all Magus' can add impact, or just the Esoteric?
Does this allow the Esoteric to bypass the restriction on the Impact weapon enchant when applying it via Arcane pool?
As far as Staples goes, you can actually have them printed as Engineering Prints, you lose the ability for laminations, but you can get a 24x36 for 5.89. (I just ordered a map for Scion of the Sky Key for this price.)
The best part is that if you have a program like Publisher, you can easily combine multiple small maps into one to save money.
The 48x36 (largest size) is about $12-13 after tax.
1. It was a level 3-7 Scenario. Myself and another player had level 6/7 characters. Everyone else was using either level 4 characters, or level 4 pregens because they didn't have a character in that level range.
2. Because the APL was less than 5, myself and one other player were told that if we wanted to apply credit to our level 6/7 characters for that scenario, we had to play the level 4 pregens because our characters were more than one level outside the subtier (3-4).
3. When pointed out that this contradicts several parts of the Roleplaying guild guide, specifically that:
a) You are allowed to bring any legal character to a scenario provided it is within the legal levels (level 6/7 in a 3-7 scenario). The exception to this rule is in adventure with more than two sub-tiers. You can only play a character if they are in adjacent sub-tiers. (For example in a 1-7 scenario a 5-6 sub-tier character cannot play where the rest of the party is in sub-tier 1-2. But could play where the rest of the party is in sub-tier 3-4)
b) You cannot apply credit for using a pregen to a character that was of a legal level to play the scenario with certain exceptions (i.e. any adventure that all are pregens such as Serpent's Rise/Ire, or the We Be Goblins series).
It was said that this was a new rule being put into effect via the Officer Forums. I just need to know if this rule is in effect, or if it's just a proposed rule that may go into effect next season.
I was wondering if there is a new rule concerning the Average Party Level and being forced to play a pregen?
Essentially, I attended a level 3 to 7 scenario earlier tonight with my level 7 character. When I arrived, another player and myself were told that due to the APL we would be in low tier. We said that was fine, but then we were told that due to a new rule that characters must be within one level of the subtler or else must play a different character or a pregen that could be appied to our higher level character.
I just would like clarification whether this is correct.
I'm new to the player side of things and used to reporting my own sessions. Where might I be able to find the online reporting tool for incorrect sessions? I played Through the Maelstrom Rift on Saturday (great fun!) but I'm not seeing it under my player sessions.
My group is also missing Through the Maelstrom Rift as well.
I didn't quite phrase my previous post the best. Forgive me, I'm still fairly new to this:
Have:
Consummerate Dabbler - Make a new character using the Pathfinder Unchained Variant Multi-classing Rules (Gen Con 2016 Charity Boon)
Vishkanya Race Boon
Want:
Ratfolk Race Boon + Changeling Race Boon (I'm trying to get these for some friends of mine.)
I'm also willing to accept other possible Race boon trades, or other boons. I'm just not really sure what's out there.
Consumerate Dabbler - GenCon 2016 Charity Boon that lets you build a character using the Pathfinder Unchained Variant Multi-classing rules
Vishkanya Race boon
Is there a want list to go with that?
I would like to get a rat folk, and changeling for some friends, and possibly a Glutton for Punishment.
