Are you suggesting this, because you think I'm out of power rolls, because I would drop the Government Contacts. Or that, Weather Control 3 is too powerful to be combined with Martial Arts? Weather Control doesn't have an attack, right?

For the Position of Power without Government Contacts, I was thinking about a member of the House of Lords. So, not super rich, but a well-to-do guy with a title. In his secret ID, he would speak with a thick Scottish accent to hide a public school education.

Using Google-fu for Scottish Weather Controller names: Hoolan, Bloat, Blirtie, Coorse, Gouling, Doister, Doineann. Do you prefer any of these to Storm Knight? I don't have a feel for how weird/funny they are relative to the game you want to run.

Or, my second preference is Bulwark

@BD I thought upgrading a rolled power to Grade 2 took 2 power rolls, as opposed to your suggestion above. Or, is it only 1 power roll for Energy Attack?

Edit Nevermind. I reread your post. Upgrading to Grade 2 takes 1 Power roll, and Grade 3 takes 2 power rolls. So, my characters will get more power rolls, because I thought Grade 2 took 2 rolls.

For my Superstrength concept, would it be better to upgrade:
1. Superstrength from 34+2d10 (expected value of 45 Strength) to Grade 3 44+3d10 (EV of 60 Strength),
or
2. Martial Arts to Grade 2 (with +6 damage and +1 Dodge Mod) and Judo Throw

The Weather Controller would just go to Grade 3 Weather Control

Session Zero

So, I've ideas on the origin of the agency (as first a bunch of aristocrats and Van Helsings), but obviously need ST to weigh in with what he wants. Since I'm excited to play this game, I want to work on a timeline of all the character's recruiting, so we can visualize the duration of the PC relationships as a component for what their current state is. Also, the agency may be influenced by older recruits, like BPRD was built around Abe and Hellboy.

Obviously, please correct my guesses. I don't need exact years unless you want. I was just placing the recruitments between major world milestones.

Luthael is stunned by the massive melee instigated by his companions. Had the forgotten that they were looking for the hag and dragon eggs? Now, they needed to clear a room of goblins.

Then, as he looks to reply to Raseri, he catches an iceball to the face. Such indignity. After wiping the ice from his face, he sends a bead of crimson to vat of flammable liquid to try to end this combat in conflagration.

Luthael falls out of the tunnel and stares at the sky for awhile as his companions react to surviving. He wonders if he enjoyed the kiss of life with Raseri. He had never had any time for romance spending his time in prayer and on missions. He wonders if Khors put her in his path. The prophet stands up straightening his tunic and brushing the mud from his gear.

"Raseri, I must profusely thank you on behalf of my Sun Lord. Khors was personally clear that if we had not returned that gem to its statue, Carn would have, and I quote set the whole blasted multiverse aflame." He nods and tiredly smiles at the Thorsdottir seeing if her reaction is any different than before the kiss.

Then, he looks directly at Scramsax and says, "And, Khors knows you specifically Scramsax chastising me for not, and I quote keeping a better handle on that blasted halfling. So, my dear, please allow me to keep a better handle on you. Let's discuss any potential great capers in the future, shall we?"

And then he looks to Gunner and Ingryd, "and, you two. Thank you for saving Midgard again. Let's take a break for a bit before tackling that hag."

@Talomyr Some of our player-characters are locals, I think we could be more engaged if you had the local PCs explain what's going instead of the NPCs. It might help us decide where to go faster. Just a suggestion.

Well, if Carnadine betrayed anyone, I'm sure they had it coming. ;D

Replying to the angelic shepherd girl before she departs, Luthael blesses her, "Khors blesses you with my presence and our success. Love overcomes in the end but can cause all sorts of pain along the way."

Checking on everyone's health and morale, the prophet stays with Ingryd providing a warm embrace and no words of his faith. She needs the comfort of her new family to start filling the gaping hole of her lost family.

He lets the infiltrating sunlight reinforce his faith in the lord of the sun.

Can't wait to use Geas to tell a bad guy to rethink his life.
