That whole post was great!

Ingryd: This is something of a special case. I kind of visualize it as a combination poison and magical damage. So if you succeed on the save then zero damage thanks to your resistance and you are not Incapacitated. If you fail the save, then half damage and not Incapacitated for as long as you are raging. But as soon as you stop raging you become Incapacitated until either making a save or getting a Lessor Restoration or some other similar healing effect.

Hey, I wanted to give y'all a heads up. My maternal grandmother is not doing well. She's hardly eating or drinking. I don't know how long she may have left. I just wanted to let y'all know what was going on.
Also, Tuesday is when I start having to go up to Tuscaloosa, AL twice a week. If I don't have a new job by February, I'll need to do that commute daily, and that will mean I likely won't have time to post much.
I'll keep y'all up to date on what's going on. Looks like 2025 is going to be a rough start for me.

Raseri Whitescale |

Same and will do.
Just playing the waiting game at this point.

AdamWarnock |

Hey all, an update on the situation with my nana.
They've stopped giving her medical care. At this point, all they can do is try their best to make her comfortable. I also found out that a great-uncle on my dad's side of the family passed away. If y'all could, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Raseri Whitescale |

By the way, was my read that one of the sugar plump fairies took off her bikini-top to use as a sling accurate?

Raseri Whitescale |

Okay, just making sure I know how Ras is going to react.
And she thought she'd seen horrors being raised by a hag 50 times over.

Scramsax |

Regrets. Should've blinded self in addition to gagging self.

I was really hoping that that wasn’t confirmed, because I cannot now unsee that mental image. Whereas before I could always shrug and not dwell on it.

Raseri Whitescale |

Yes! Suffer as I have suffered! >:D
Honestly, I thought they were all nude until that detail came up.

Raseri Whitescale |

I just got the news a few minutes ago that she passed away. It hurts, but it's a bittersweet pain. We miss her, but she no longer suffers.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear it, sounds like you had a long relationship with her.
In game, Scram never really intended to retreat, she was just moving back to avoid getting killed or targeted. If these farty cocoa crispies are going to chase us and/or warn the rest of this tower, then I think we should kill them all.

Raseri Whitescale |

Thank you all, I appreciate it.
As for going back in and finishing everyone off... do we even have any way of knowing this connects up to the tower or somewhere outside and not further into Midgard's underbelly?

Scramsax |

Either way, its a mere AC 15 and 180 hp to break Gunnar's Wall. With all the steampunk tech in there they probably have a way to blast as well. Scram is gagged and will go with the flow whatever you guys decide. Whatever sling-related loot is hiding in there probably isn't worth another retinal exposure to the horrors of witch titties.

Raseri Whitescale |

You see, that's why you send in everyone else in first, then come in after the sugar plump fairies are dealt with. (I know they were supposed to be sugar plum fairies. I just thought calling them sugar plump fairies was funny.)

Ha! I'm just kicking myself because I didn't think of 'Sugar Plump Fairies' first. :)

Scramsax |

Likewise I appreciated the wordplay when I saw it.
That song will always conjure Tiny Toons for me, however...because of this.

Gunnar Thorstein |

Gunnar would stack the wall so we get 30 inches of thickness total assuming the opening is no more than 10 by 10, so that gives 900 hp…might take a few rounds.

Scramsax |

No, the path we need was marked by our fox guide's ancestor. There was a fork in road. Scram scouted down here and found some bad news, and party decided to come investigate after hearing her report.

Raseri Whitescale |

And after investigating, we decided that it was worth making some noise to put an end to the Holiday Confectionary of Horrors.

Scramsax |

...and then decided not to put an end to it after all. ;)
I feel sorry for our enemies trying to predict our behavior.

Well, Ras has to live up to that C in her alignment somehow. :P

DM - Tareth |

"Hmm, I could look for the eggs instead of the hatchlings-to-be," Raseri muses.
GM, could Raseri cast locate object to see if she can find dragon egg shells?
I think you could attempt to do this. It is not really familiar or 'known' object per the spell because you haven't "... seen it up close--within 30 feet--at least once." But the alternative option to locate something of a particular kind of object could work.

Raseri Whitescale |

That's what I was thinking when I asked.

Just to clarify the situation with Ingryd. Over the course of the game, she has portrayed herself as basically addicted to alcohol because of the trauma of loss in her background. Now, the party has discovered the best and most potent alcoholic beverage she has ever encountered thanks to it sitting an aging for 100+ years and being distilled using the natural spring waters of the Margreve.
It isn't that the whiskey is poison or heavily magicked. It is actually that it is too good. Much too good. The slight bit of Margreve magic (as far as I know, nobody has cast a detect magic to see how or if it is even magical) and the whiskey's smooth potency actually provide the escape from her pain and anguish that she has tried to achieve at so many other times with drink. Scramsax took a sip with little or no ill effect other than knowing right off it was something special. Ingryd, was trying to guess actual ingredients and so drank an entire cup. Thus much more effect, especially one with her condition.
Thus, does she have the actual willpower to not drink the entire jug? To do so would almost certainly result in one passed out bearkin, and the loss of a very valuable jug of booze. Does she have the capacity to not completely go off on Raseri and/or anyone else who would deny her this long desired escape? Can the party persuade her to stop drinking?
Right now, Ingryd has contained herself well enough so she doesn't go straight into a barbarian rage and attack to get her hands back on the jug. Instead it is something of a stand off both within the bearkin's mind and with Raseri and the party.
Scramsax actually breaking the jug will certainly escalate the situation, thus I wanted to clarify things in case she wants to do something else.

Raseri Whitescale |

Oops, guess I need to delete my post real fast.

Scramsax |

Scramsax doesn't believe there are negative consequences for drinking alcohol, therefore witchcraft is at work. Scram has been poisoned by similar back near the bee tree, and then of course the parasites from the lemonade, fart cocoa, etc. Seems more likely there is something messed up with the brew, especially since Darrel doubted its veracity as well.

Scramsax |

If Ingryd really pushes it as the rolls demand, Scram will relinquish the other jug to her very loyal friend for a sip and/or big gulp of real facts true ultimate imbibement. Scram would even believe, after listening to Ingryd's rationale behind the request, that it was the morally correct course of action.
I know Deception wasn't an option for the check but that is of course Scram's approach to such interparty strife, and would be Scrams first and only rebuff. At this point honestly...the thief is uncaring and eager to find other loot without fiery, flame-dancing passion strings attached. ;) Raw, uncut gemstones never caused so much fuss, from the expert's perspective. So f*ck it. Hag got to it. Prove Scram wrong.
Someone prove, beyond the shadow of a doubt or suspected contaminant, Ingryd has a drinking problem which requires intervention.
...and Scram of course had unlimited faith in Void Hammer (Ennui's) ability to offer a chill perspective that could unsquiggle even bear sized livers. When the chips fell, its guidance would be a template for the halfling moving forward. xD Scram admires the Hammer.

All, my Spelljammer Game on mythweavers will be recruiting 2-3 to complement a solid 4 very soon if anyone is interested.
It is a silly game, and uses the '14 rules. It has been compared to Legends of Tomorrow but I don't know that reference. We are not quite halfway through the adventure but close.
If interested I can give further details, no worries if not.

![]() |

Legends of tomorrow was the Arrow Spin off. Taking secondary characters from the flash and Arrow and throwing them on a team together by a time traveler who recruited them due to the fact that they are powerful but also don't really amount to much in history. Fun show.
I would love to play but dont have Mythweavers

Scramsax |

Guys, if you want me to stop scouting I can. I realize its kind of doubling the time everything is taking.

Luthael Invictusol |

Guys, if you want me to stop scouting I can. I realize its kind of doubling the time everything is taking.
I don't want Scramsax to stop scouting, because it's the right strategy, as opposed to blundering our way room to room.
However, I personally am getting disconnected from the game sitting in the back seat watching what Scramsax does and confirming left turn sounds better.
I don't know how to square that circle. But, I love the game!
Cheers

Scramsax |

Yeah, Id be fine doing lefts and auto-rolling. If there is no threat or anything particularly noteworthy, just assume Scram reports back everything. Still get to roll that way so thief stuff isn't totally worthless. ;)

Gunnar Thorstein |

Gunnar's not in a hurry, but he is also not going to gainsay Scramsax's choice of direction, so I am fine with him following along. Now, Scram does in fact NOT report everything (fortune in whiskey), so best to keep that part in there...

Raseri Whitescale |

Pretty much the same as everyone else. It makes sense for Scram to scout, even if speeding things up a bit may be in order.
One of the downsides of PBP, combat and dungeon crawls are sllloooooooooowwwwwwwww.

Scramsax |

She WILL report the whiskey...just not in front of Darrel. ;) She's betraying him, not the 6 ofc.

Raseri Whitescale |

Okay, so our next quest is to find Ingryd a harem of ruggedly handsome bearfolk, several Tuns of mead, and a batch of beady-eyed goblins looking to make some mischief by stealing children.
