"Well, now, you're looking quite a lot better, Gareth. I think you're ready to be discharged," Nurse Trurow said, insincere smile still in place. "If you say so." He replies, not caring to smile back. Nurse Trurow wasn't really nice for a healer, and she showed too much teeth when she smiled. He climbed out of the bed and limped out of the medical office as quickly as he could.
"If positive spell stuff hurts you, wouldn't the negative spell stuff heal you? That's the magic he's got right now."
"I don't think he heard you. He... just walked in." Gareth explains slowly as he sits up and checks out his healed injuries. "That was really fast though!"
"I don;t know what happens. The magic just blows up sometimes." He explains. "And I don't have any issues with the healing energy. That's what positive is, right?"
Gareth waved happily and smiled broadly despite how it hurt him. "I didn't think you'd come! Thanks!"
"Thank you!" This was going to be pretty fun. Well, more fun than just sitting here alone and bored. They kept taking the books he hid in here back to the library.
"They can come in!" He says, perking up noticeably. He couldn't remember getting any visitors here before!
Gareth, meanwhile, lies in the bed and frowns. Everything hurt and pre growing a few teeth didn't make it any better. At least he only looked like half of a giant bruise now though. It was an improvement.
"Oh, that'll be okay. They're super nice in the infirmary. I end up there all the time," Chara said breezily. Gareth looks at Chara and nods. His own trips to the infirmary had confirmed this, and the pain made him wary of trying, but... well, she was pretty. He ran off to a safe distance, knowing there might be collateral damage(his poor room suffered so much!) and tried to pluck the spell from the magic around him and cast it...
...only to near instantly be shunted off into the infirmary before the backlash can outright kill him. Even then twenty foot area around where he'd been looks like a small meteor hit it. Final Score
"Is it okay if I try and make food? I can't really figure out my magic really well, but I've been seeing a spell lately I'm pretty sure makes food. Only thing is I might end up in the infirmary if I can't do it right..."
"I don't care if you go in, as long as I don't." He replies, looking relieved.
"Ok...." He says confused "care to share why not?" "Because I just don't!" He says rather unhelpfully.
"No!" The boy quickly replies, clutching his book like it was a shield. "I don't like water!"
"Do you not like water?" "Nuh-uh. I can't even swim."
She smiled back. "Of course I mean it. Now, Lang might not want to get started right away. He's promised some other classmates to play with them. But he might have time after that. And the three of you can work out times to meet this weekend to work on it. And I'm very sorry that it took me so long to get you the help you asked for, Gareth. Just because there were other things that were urgent doesn't mean that this isn't important. Please forgive me for taking so long." I forgive you, Mrs. Blackscales! It's not like I had lots of other things ta do after anyway. I don't even know what I'll do after we figure out my book, honest." He explains, still quite cheerful and seemingly unaware of the dragons nearby.
"Sorry, but I left it in my room. It's kinda heavy and I was getting mad at it.... I would like to play though, as long as it's not near water and stuff."
"Excuse me, Gareth. I'm sorry to interrupt your free time, but I did promise you I would find you someone to help you with that book...this is Lang. He's in our class. I'm sure you've seen him there during lessons. I think he can help you. And this is Professor Reading. She might be helpful as well, but she's mostly here to supervise the two of you in case you need to access the bigger library or anything of that nature." The boy looked up from his book at the group and smiled at the idea of finally getting the help he needed! "You mean it? I've been waiting forever and it keeps getting nowhere when I read it! All I find are things that look like clues but nothing for them to go to!"
Gareth sat outside on one of the benches in the shade with a book in his hands that, for once, wasn't the book he couldn't figure out. Just a nice little adventure story to relax with on a warm day.

New spells are fun~
The dragon from my home world could do that, actually. He's already started an anti-arcane thing.
"Makes enough sense I suppose. Off you go then, very important and all that. Don't worry about the tea. I'll clean up." "Thank you, sir." He stands and bows before leaving. "if I need anymore help, I'll ask you first."
"They've been in hiding too long, and they need to come out if it."
"Have you tried finding this place on a map? Maybe it isn't nearby enough to recognize? You can probably find any map you need in the library." He stares blankly at the teacher for a few moments before he bangs his head on the book. "I feel dumb now."
"So you're just not quite getting what it's saying. Perhaps if you just give yourself some time it will come to you then. Maybe you're trying too hard." "It's been a long time already... I don't know what I'm missing and it's really important! "
He opens the book and reads a page detailing the location of a beautiful crystal. His seems to become clearer as he translates, and when he's done he closes the book and sighs. "It tells me what to look for, but that's it, and I don't under stand what it does tell me anyway..."
"I.. I don't know." Gareth answers, crestfallen. "I only met him once, on the day I found the book..."
"I found it in the library I lived near. On another world. I actually talked to the writer!" He says a little happily. "Or he said he was anyway... I don't think anything' semis sing though."
"I'm not sure, but... I can tell where to look for them, but I don't know where that actually is, if that makes sense. Um... like I'm missing a key sentence, maybe?"
"Well, no, I'm using it all the time, it's just that I feel I'm missing something when I read the book."
"Well.. It does talk about real things, but it's also kind of a mystery. I figured out what it's about. It's my.. my specialty? Reading and languages."
"My name is Gareth Myrrdin."
"Yes, thank you, sir."
The young boy walks in and puts his big book on the table. "Well, I've read this book over and over, but I can't figure out what I'm missing. It talks about five list treasures, and I already found one, but I can't figure out where the others are..."
Not just yet.
Gareth's search leads him to a door labeled "Guidance." He paused to read the word and then knocks clumsily, holding the book awkwardly in one arm.
Gareth walks through the halls in search of a teacher. He'd nearly given up trying to figure out what he was missing as he scoured his book for the locations of the other four 'treasures' and decided maybe he'd need some help.
The library has WHAT!?
Well... that would require having it in the first place...Also DB3 is partially responsible for the quest to find the other worlds as it's his character who has the map. What use is the decoder ring without the message? ;)

This is Gareth. His ability is just like that of Cypher from X-Men: he can speak/know/read any language. Everything is a language. He's level 2.

"Oh, hehe.. maybe we should go to our rooms then. You seem really tired.."
"Um... nine, maybe. I never really knew, and it never seemed important."
