The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Oh, yeah I almost forgot, Janie, This is Tybs, He is in the band I was telling you about.

Male Icy Catfolk Image Warlock/Rogue 16

Tybalt's jaw tightens some at the prolonged hug, but he doesn't say anything about it, though to him it's the equivalent of being next to a very freshly opened oven.
"I sadly know, basically all of those feelings. But we're both still here, so that's one thing." He does his smirk-smile he does when he's trying to be clever.
"Hi everyone." He smiles after she introduces them.
"I'm Tybalt. And, I guess you're Mel's band?"
He goes to the origami and gathers them up.
"Here's these. You're the only person I know who could be thinking of snowflakes at the same time as a firebird, by the way."
An empty space on the bottom of the cat shaped one has a handwriting that isn't hers.

Note:
"Talk later alone. :X)" the smiley face has whiskers.

"I'm not, actually. Kind of difficult to rock out on a violin..." Cameron says a little sheepishly.

Female [Classified] Bard 16 / [classified] 16

Mel just luaghs, No, this isn't my band. these guys a re good, but, cameron and kezzin there are more of the orchestra types, and well Janie there, well I heard her playing the drums and I knew she would be the perfect match for you guys. of course if she wants to be in a band of course.

She looks a little embarrassed when he mentions snowflakes. Yeah that was a special song I wrote for Igni, but I guess it could, kinda be for all those firebirds.

I know, sounds weird huh? maybe I'll explain it sometime. you guys wanna hear the song?

"Hold on tight to my feathers. Don't worry, they're strong, and I will go slowly, alright?" she says, looking back to watch him climb on.

"Somber music then, or upbeat? I hot Taron listening in now too. He says hi."

You'll still have to contain the infected so they don't hurt anyone before the virus controlling them dies out."

"Thank you Dennis." she says as she takes the container.

"Is everyone prepared?" she asks again, before bringing forth her magical energies to carry them across the land, into the heart of a train, which had been overrun with infected, murderous people. Not exactly her idea of a relaxing evening.

She would have to investigate. When she wasn't babysitting a large, but regrettably stupid, boy hellbent on revenge.

"You may not care now, but I think you might in the future. After all, you'll have a lot of life left to live after you get vengeance for your family. Also, my condolences for your loss."

Kodjack didn't notice the gnome, even as Nanami looked in that direction. He really wasn't paying much attention at all, just looking at the arrows on the floor as he talked with Nanami. "I'll deal with that when it comes," he responded, shaking his head. "Right now, all I want to do is get smarter to avenge them. Even if I have to deal with magic, I'll do it." Unable to stop himself, he then spat at the ground after mentioning magic. It was very clear that it had some sort of stigma with him, and perhaps for a good reason. He then looked up again quickly, then sighed. "Are we even there yet? The sooner I meet this warrior, the better."

Ahhhh, Cameron that just is not entirely true. Tybs get on Keyboards, Janie drums. She goes over and asks Cameron if she could borrow his violin I'll show you, you just have to let the music flow, don't let the notes control you, feel the beat inside and let it guide you

If cameron will let Mel borrow the violin she will play this song urging Tybs and Janie to join in

of course if he says no, then she won't play that song.

She goes over to grab her guitar and does a quick sound check.

she checks the mike.

Ok, I'll lead in see if you guys can find the beat and join in. looking to the drummer, especially you, you look like a girl that like a bit of rock

she leads in a Sunshine of your love

round of bardic performance to inspire competence for Janie

Kezzin listens to the song without playing he has a quizzical expression on his face as if he has not encountered this style of music before. By the end of the song his talons are tapping on the floor in time with the music, and his left hand is fidgeting with the strings of his violin. A closer look will reveal that, though he is not playing, he is actually fingering notes on the violin's fingerboard.

Gonna take some minor liberties with Major Creation and Permanency, as I don't think its a big deal to speed the casting of MC and then make the otter permanent. Rules light and all. Hopefully its cool

Kodjack obviously did not understand what Nanami was trying to get at with her statement about the headmaster. She said that he was strong, just not in the way he was thinking. What could that possibly mean? Was that "High Seers" part supposed to mean that he was strong because he was really tall? Wait...yes, that had to be it! Easier to take heads when that strike is at arm-level! It all made sense to him then. Though he had no idea what a council was, the way Nanami said it made it sound like there were more than just him, too, which meant more warriors to tell him the ways of combat! There was no doubt they knew how to combat magic, as well, which was all the more better.

Seeming to grow more in excitement, Kodjack's hands started to fidget around, sometimes reaching into his bag and pulling out a smooth, white stone and clasping in before putting it away, only to take it out again. Words seemed to fail him as they drew nearer to the headmaster's office, though a fire seemed to grow in his eyes, perhaps looking to spar with him to learn more about his style and weaponry.

Nanami shook her head. There was no reasoning with this guy. Well, hopefully Antairus-sama would have an easier time dealing with him. She knocked on the door of the Headmaster's office.

Jiminy got the shuttle on the ground and made sure that all of the shuttles had made it down safely, speaking words of thanks and encouragement to the pilots as he went. Sorchan was busy organizing the firebirds and getting them to the refugee camp in an orderly fashion.

Jiminy was all set to head back to Avalon, check on Fi, and collapse from exhaustion when someone told him that there was trouble in Kuros and his mother had commandeered factory equipment to make a cure for some terrible plague. It looked like there was no rest for the weary today. He sent a quick message to Fi to make sure she was alright and knew that he was too. And then he found Raelle. He had a feeling that a crowd of displaced firebirds was a bad place for his sister-in-law to be right now.

"Hey, Elle, there's another emergency to deal with...never a break from those these days it seems. I need to oversee some emergency aid to Kuros. I want you and your friend here," he said, nodding towards Arthur, "to take the skimmer back to Avalon now. Watch her back okay, kid? She was in the center of things a couple of days ago and people looking for a scapegoat aren't always rational. Cooler heads might prevail tomorrow. But for tonight, get back to the school, okay?"

After the song is over Mel gives Cameron his Violin back. thanks so much, you do have a well tuned violin.

So any of you guys have songs you want to play? I still think I owe you that new song I wrote[/b] Mel says glancing toward Tybs as the promise she made was to him but it is offered to everyone.

But this night isn't about me, its about all of us and our love of music.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Belsayv

Unfortunately for Vickory, the creature with which she was conversing was not long for this world as the wrath of her blue dragon ally is now directed towards it. Aided by the timely arrival of Belyu, Adon and their mysterious companion, the dual-sided spellcaster falls quickly to arrow, tooth and claw, aided by guidance from the holy power of Yrrin.

Meanwhile, a shining bastion of righteousness, Yrrin calls forth on all the powers at his disposal, and dispatches his foe with a telling blow, striking straight through his armour and almost splitting the N'gathau in two.

The remaining N'gathau's invisibility wears off shortly thereafter, and is slain more in what is more akin to an act of mercy than combat. He was doomed anyway.

There's a long moment of silence in the cavern as the echoes of the battle fade away.

A few things remain to be done - the cage which holds the mostly villagers must be opened, and there is still the question of the monstrous machine, which appears to have a ghost caught in it's midst - the source of the screams which had propelled Vai onward so recklessly before.

And of course... who is the stranger accompanying Belyu and Adon?

Kezzin smiles a little and brings the violin to his chin. He begins playing something a lot faster than he had been playing before, something more in line with what Melody had been playing on Cameron's violin. His smile while playing seems to invite the others to join in.

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

Still in her draconic form, Vai leaps into action - making for the ghostly girl caught up in the machine. "Jan?!" she calls again - obviously she knows this girl, since that name was also said when they had first arrived in the cavern... and the wings apparent on the ghost's back seem to match Vai's own when she's in half-elf form.

Vai's draconic bulk lands next to the girl, looking nervously at the dark metal twisting it's way around and through "Jan". She's not there long before...

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

Vickory laughs as the dual caster creature falls, then turns to finish opening the cage, and taking care to deal with the traps just in case the dispel wore off already.

Then without a word she goes to examine the ghost in the machine, and looks thoughtful and intrigued.

I almost wrote Ghost in the Shell, LOL

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Jan's eyes trace the movement of the dragon descending upon her, and something clicks, and she throws her translucent hands out towards Vai in what might have been an attempt to protect herself. Another scream rings out from the ghost. "No! Stay away! Stay back! Please Lord!" Despite her incorporeality, Jan does not appear to be able to free herself from the machine, struggling momentarily against it's bonds.

male human gestalt fighter 15/duelist 9, rouge 5, monk 1

adon walks up to the machine near vai. He's calm, and doesn't say a word. He looks concerned, not for the girl in the machine, but for vai.

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

If dragons could go pale, Vai would've been as white as the ghost who had just shouted at her. She takes a step back, sitting down hard on her draconic butt as if she'd been struck by Jan's words. "Jan... it's... it's m-me, Vai." she manages to say, voice trembling.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

The ghost seems unwilling or unable to believe or maybe even hear Vai, and her shouts of dismay slowly begin to turn to begging, pleading for the pain to stop or be released, no doubt reliving the last days of her life....

Alright, gonna stop there and give people a real chance to react. Sorry. xD

Vickory

Vickory's quick skills are able to get the lock on the cage open, and the door swings slowly open. Most of the villagers still seem to be unconscious - drugged perhaps, as the sound of battle did not wake them. There are a few groggy sounds and movements, but nothing substantial.

male human gestalt fighter 15/duelist 9, rouge 5, monk 1

adon raises an eyebrow. He walks up to the machine, unnaturally calm as ever, practically blind to the ghost's suffering, and shoves antimagic at it, in case it had a magical feature to it.

Rena is able to get Bradley safely back up to the roof.

Hooray!

Very thankful once the roof was underneath her, Rena begins to glide in easily towards Bradley's little space in the aviary, but then remembers herself once again, stopping just a little after having reached the edge of the roof. "I... shouldn't go any further Bradley. I don't want to scare away all of your friends. I don't think they would like my form." she says despondantly, lowering herself to the ground to let Bradley slide off. It's still a good five feet from the edge of the roof, and she hopes that's enough to prevent any mishaps there.

Sadie dropped her whirling forcefields, sheathed her sword, and walked over to Vai. She went to put a comforting hand on the young dragon's shoulder, but then she stopped, remembering Vai's fear of being touched.

"Vai," she said softly, "we're here for you. I can only imagine how difficult this is for you. I don't think this girl can see what's happening in the present very well. It might help if you changed back to your other form...she might recognize you better that way."
