Anahita bint Tariq |
Remaining, apparently quiet and thoughtful, the huge bear shaped fire elemental continues to watch the acts and words of those whispering and speaking near it.
When Fei does speak of Vai and her apparent odd behavior, some attention is focused on the blonde female, though, still silent.
Keme's end by his Grandfather, and shift into kitsune form does appear to give a moment of consideration, but the bear remains fairly ...indifferent, most likely too far removed or jaded in life to empathize.
Once Hermes speaks of raising the dead though, 'he' gets the fire bear's gaze once more.

"No, that's not it. It would have been a much less extreme problem for me. I'd just have to try and live with this problem with no help, or any clue what is going on. Today alone they helped me a lot, allowing me to swim through the air instread of pulling myself across the ground with my arms."
Adon Derro |
Adon eventually comes to, eats a ton of food, gathers a ton of gauze, and heads to his room. He loosens the stone up with water, and takes it off bit by bit, often ripping off chunks of his skin where the mud had sept into his skin, then turned to stone. He works silently, and soon most of his legs are covered in gauze, a large amount of his Chest and back, almost all of his arms, and the back and palms of his hands. He couldn't do anything about his neck, though, he'd have to get medical attention before he removed that. Adon crawled into bed, and the day finally got to him, as he silently cried into his pillow.
Ardiente |
"Definitely," she agreed. "He seemed so calm and unaware of what was going on below...it really concerns me what his 'friend' might be...I have the worst feeling that we totally botched that."
"Well, he's a firebird like any other, he deserves to know what's happening to the Sun. But... I just..." Ardiente trails off thoughtfully. "Do you think those villagers were trained to do that to everyone, or just firebirds? Villem didn't seem to react to the fact that I'm not pureblooded."
Vai Sunwake |
For whatever reason Vai is keeping silent - even as the attention is turned to her, the force preventing her from speakinbg cannot or does not prevent her from tearing up as Keme's neck is broken, nor does it stop her knees from buckling, allowing her to sink to the ground in sorrow.
"Keme..." Vai manages to whisper from her kneeling position on the ground, her tears falling to the ground of this crater for the second time in as many days.
Igni Phoebus |
igni lies in bed, wide awake. He thinks of these people who call him a friend. He thinks long, And he begins to wonder. He begins to wonder why people make themselves so vulnerable. Why they would attach themselves to someone, knowing they would eventually be ripped away. He wonders... If there is something behind this "friendship" that is more then just blind trust. Something that may be worth having.
Roel |
roel stays alone in his glass room. He stays, and waits. Waits until sunrise, when people talk to him again. Nights were so boring. He wished he could sleep like everyone else. He thinks throughout the night, a nagging thought left by a odd man- "why don't i want to be human?"
Vriskra the shantak |
Vriskra sighs as she enters her room. She wonders why she has to bear this thing in her head. Why people have to make such horrible things befall such nice people. This was horrible. She crashed down in a corner, and fell asleep, feeling that the place that liked her wasn't going to last.

"I do think that it was firebirds in specific. Whether it was Villem's doing or not...I don't know. But they looked at you before they started with the bowing. Pureblood or not, you look like a firebird. With my dark hair, I don't. I can easily pass as human as long as I don't have to eat. I don't know. For all we know they developed their religious beliefs ages ago and he just happened to stumble on that village...maybe they thought firebirds were gods because they were in charge of the sun?"
"Ace" |
Ace stands there for a few moments, quietly watching. When Vai falls to her knees next the body of Keme, he does the same. "Its gonna be OK Vai. I don't know how, or when, but it will be. Don't ask me how I know, I just get the feeling it will be, somehow."

"Well, I hope they come to their senses. As.. proud as I am of being a firebird... that was wrong. Come on, let's get going, hopefully the next one won't be as creepy. Do you want to take a break before the next one? Shake off the bad feelings?"

She shook her head. "No, let's just keep going. I have plenty of energy for now and we have lots of places to go," she said with forced cheerfulness, taking his hand. It was getting to be a habit and she wasn't really able to deny that she really did like him....except it was too late, she thought miserably as she remembered his insistence that she was just a friend and let go of his hand again, not doing the best job of hiding that she was upset.

Genosuke's cries of grief continue for a while. Cries of pain, loss, and anger echo across the crater, as movement from around the rim catches everyone's eye or ears. Perhaps a few dozen or so fox-like beings of various sizes have arrived. They all look somewhat like Keme, with similar markings and colorations. Some of them pick up the cries themselves, as they gather toward Genosuke, while others stand beside loved ones in stoic comfort of those that grieve. An older female, with lighter fur and showing eight tails herself kneels beside Genosuke and buries her head in his neck, shuddering with her own cries. He pets her and strokes her fur as they all share the loss of a family member, and clan mate. Some of them conjure balls of fire or electricity and let them hang in the air to provide light. All of them make no move to exclude to hedge out those that are already there, sharing their grief. Not long after arrival, the keening stops, and they all speak with Genosuke and the female with them, offering words of comfort and condolences in a strange language that's alot like Sylvan, with a splash of Auran. Oddly they all inquire who is responsible for this, and Genosuke answers them. Then, as quickly as they arrived, they all begin to walk out of the crater, going back to whatever corner of the world or galaxy or plane they came from, clan business done. Genosuke shares a long embrace with the female with him, and then she too departs. He takes Keme's body, and stands, giving everyone in attendance a nod, then begins to walk back to the school, cradling his grandson's still form in his arms, doing his best to gain his composure, but still shuddering from the occasional sob.
This takes no more than 15 to 20 minutes, for those that wanted to discretely leave.
Fei, of the Sun Soul |
Before the arrival of the other kitsune....
The...sound...is the one thing that breaks Fei's gaze. His eyes close, and the young monk offers a silent prayer to Lathander.
His eyes open, and he turns back to Genosuke. Bowing deeply, his eyes misting over, he respectfully steps away from the professor and goes over to Vai. He kneels down in front of her, his gaze stopping briefly on the hand of the...stranger touching her. A faint rumble can be heard in the crater for a second, but it passes.
"Vai...come back, meldanya..."
Ryuzo Kato |
Hangs his head, and weeps silently, the cries of anguish getting to him. Knowing what it's like to lose clanmates to enemies, he empathizes.
Losing them to treachery on the part of an ally is unforgiveable. He understands their anger as well...he doesn't speak with any of them, and does not move until after they leave. He falls in stride an appropriate distance behind Genosuke. Not so close as to assume he is weak and needs aid, but close enough to show solidarity with the grieving sensei.

Ardiente had squeezed her hand when she took it, and missed the touch when she let it go. He had been examining their next destination at her insistence that she was fine to move on, but then she breaks contact with his hand he looks up. "Are you alright? Anything the matter? I mean... beyond the creepy village and Villem?"

"Vai...come back, meldanya..."
Vai hadn't immediately drawn away from Arthur's hand - though whether that was her choice or the intervention of some other being - is not immediately clear. When Fei begins to call her, she forces her tear-streaked face to look up at him... and then whatever was holding her ceases, and she tucks herself into his arms, tears and sobs coming freely now. "Meldanya, I will fight her if she keeps doing that. I won't let her do to me what Esperanza did to Keme, but I might need your help." she says hoarsely a few minutes later, after the sobbing had died down (and assuming no 'explosive impacts' from Fei). "And we'll have Keme back soon." that last phrase is said so that Ace, Anahita, and Arthur can easily hear, spoken with fierce passion: it was a direct challenge to Hope.

"Umm...no, of course not. I'm fine. Just worried about the creepy village and all...wondering if we should warn someone about Villem," she said, sounding rather strained.
Ardiente |
Sense Motive: {dice}Yeah I really can't fail that check.{/dice}
Ardiente turns fully to the girl standing next to him, and puts a gnetle hand on her shoulder. He is very warm - truly a firebird, whatever other heritage he might have. "Maybe we should warn someone. Your dad probably." he says, meeting her gaze. Once again, he lacks any bravado or showmanship, simply concerned for his closest friend. "So why don't you tell me what's really bothering you? You know you can trust me with anything, right?"
HRMS-XI "Hermes" |
It's really not that big of a deal. They know they don't hear it. That's all that matters.
Hermes stand silently with its hand at its back as the kitsune gather.
Interesting. Some kind of mourning ceremony. I will make note of this custom.
It thinks to itself.
"Ace" |
Overcome by the immense emotion suffusing the crater, Ace involuntarily shifts into a fox himself, and howls in conjunction with the clan that had gathered.
After they all depart, the young man shifts back and sits on the ground. Head hung, he's not really paying much attention to whats goin on around him.

Okay, making eye contact was a mistake...definitely a mistake, she thought to herself as her stomach went back to doing flip-flops and her heart was racing and she blushed and stammered but didn't actually manage to say anything. Just "Umm...I..that is...w-w-well...I..." She sounded like a complete moron.
Ardiente |
Seeing that it was something she wasn't really comfortable talking about, Ardiente simply enclosed her in a hug instead, his hands in the middle of her back - careful not to slip any lower, even if her scent was intoxicating. "Hey, whatever it is, I believe in you Raelle. You're awesome, and I'll be here to support you. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."

The grumpy older dwarf who ran the teleport room harrumphed. "Oh for crying out loud! Teenagers! All this drama over what's plain as day to anyone else. I'm going to go grab a sandwich...you two figure things out while I'm gone. You're clearly not gonna need to be teleporting anywhere in the next ten minutes...you'd think that there'd be some kind of manual or something so they didn't all have to fumble through exactly the same thing but no," he grumbled as he stomped off to give the awkward pair some privacy.
Lim-Môr Azair'vialys |
Lim-Môr arrives in his room.
"Well that's new."
"Oh my gods! A leonal is our roommate."
"Here he goes again. . . ."
"But just look at him!"
"Guys you're gonna wake them up. We'll meet them in the morning like a normal people."
"fine. . ."
Lim-Môr Azair'vialys |
"Sorry."
"Sorry."
"Whatever."
"It talked to me . . . ."
He speaks much more quietly.
"Let's do introductions in the morning. Long day."
"but-"
"No."
He flops onto his stomach on the bed and his mismatched wings spread eagle out to hang off the sides.
"Night Lion Dude."
"Try anything funny and I will end you."
"Please ignore him. . . ."
"Tryin to sleep. . . "
And with that the various voice cease.

"Yeah," she said, sounding exhausted. "Rough visit. As usual he wants all the power for himself. And doesn't like to be told no."
