"Don't worry about it, An. We didn't get much of a formal introduction."

A gentle telepathic voice to Andromeda,

Spoiler:
"don't worry so much, Luv. If he was ok with me chucking and unconcious dragon at him, I don't think a verbal slip up is a big deal... Plus he kinda is."

The Djinn smiles easily at Andromeda before turning back to Dave.

"So, your week been alright? Now that the universe is fixed and stuff?"

Jasper gives a short wave bye to Kam.

The popstar sets his hands in his pockets, following Janie, his tail swishing back and forth. Really that was a lie, but it had been so long he could say it with a straight face.

Male Lycan, Desert Coyote

The young Sirrocan looked around at the corner of the garden and tried to figure out just what drew him here. At first glance there was nothing out of the ordinary at all. Just plants and a stone path and...

He stopped moving as he caught a glimpse of an oasis surrounded by vibrant sands and dejavu set in. Finally he shook his head and stumbled back, one hand on the blade at his belt and the other going to the blue shield on his back. What had he just seen? Why did it feel familiar?

Why could he feel his own energy resonating inside of him right now like it had gotten stronger because of the vision? He knew he should be worried and expected the adrenaline rush that came from fear or surprise, but it did not come. His breathing remained calm.

Merikh sighed and let his arms fall to his sides again as he took a step forward into the vision again. This was amazing! He could smell the plants and feel the sun. Even the animals were the same as back home. He missed his village only a little now, but grinned. His mother's shield was still with him and he knew she'd be waiting for his first visit.

Stepping out of the strange vision he headed back into the school and touched the wall to get a clear line to the cafeteria. It was time to satisfy his craving for foreign cuisine again, and he wasn't going to go hungry without a good reason!

David looks surprised at her description of him, the pause draws on for only a short moment but to someone who's already nervous it could seem to stretch for ages. It's by a low rumbling in his chest. A chuckle. A snort. Full laughter.
"Heh yeah, that's me. I've not been in the best head space the past couple weeks, but yeah don't worry, so long as you don't hurt anyone I care about I don't get offended easy."
He nods to the genie "eh I've had better weeks. How have you two been adjusting to this place?"

I'll catch up as soon as I can," she said with a cheerful smile before jumping fearlessly off the roof. Partway down she shifted into a pale yellow and white bird with long, trailing tail feathers.

She swooped upwards and hallway circled round, then totally misjudged distance, was about to crash into a tree, totally freaked out and phased through that tree, the next tree, and partway through the tree after that before abruptly stopping with one wing caught inside the third tree. There was a nasty thud as inertia fling her forward, breaking her wing and leaving her dangling there stuck for a moment before the school's magic grabbed a hold of her and teleported her to the infirmary. She hadn't been kidding when she said she didn't do landings well.

Andromeda smiled sheepishly, relieved that Dave hadn't been offended by her comment. "Well, it's...a bit of an adjustment. Lots of changes. I mean, I miss one year and of course it's the one year that should not have been missed because everything changed. My brother flipped the planet right side out. Everyone knows that we're here and we're dragons. Most of my siblings are married with kids. The one sibling who isn't was adopted during the time I was gone, so I showed up and had one more sister than I knew about. Oh, and for some reason there aren't any lockers in the halls anymore...Why? What happened to all the lockers? They were useful for not having to run up to the dorms all the time because books." She shrugged. "It's the little things that make things seem more surreal."

Jasper:

With a wide and decidedly carniverous grin, Kezzin leaps off the roof after her. An excellent flyer, he hangs back a bit to give her the room she needs, and so has an excellent vantage point from which to observe her spectacular 'landing'. He cuts a tight curve around the tree she is stuck in and flares to a perfect landing right in front of her. His face has a look of bewildered helplessness and his free hand partly outstretched as if he is trying to figure out what to do to help when she disappears abruptly, leaving a small wing-shaped hole in the tree.

After a little while of staring at the hole in the tree with a disbelieving look, he leaps back into the air and flies to the infirmary. At the point where the path to the infirmary and the path to the cafeteria diverge, he stops, standing for a few moments as if debating with himself. He finally takes the turn for the infirmary, arriving there several minutes after Asha.

Kezzin looks at the nurse in what he is hoping to be a pleasant manner, but his uncertainty about waiting at the cafeteria or checking on Asha at the infirmary results in him presenting more as hesitant, timid, or possibly having been caught while up to something, "No. I mean, yes. I mean, um .. maybe? I don't know." He just kind of trails off, unsure of the situation.

"Been going alright for me, minus a few hang ups. Not all of my teachers can read Auren like real people, so that's a pain."

He shrugs nonchalantly as he glances over at the food cart.

"They probably just figured they'd save the space. With so many people here that can do magic, it's more of the minority who can't just poof books to and from their rooms."

As if to demonstrate his point, he beckons a wedge of quesadilla off the cart and into his hand before sniffing it and taking a bite. He tastes it some before popping the rest in his mouth and eating it.
With that done he looks back to Dave.

"So what's been harshing on your time?" Dave guesses this was his way of asking what made his week not so great. It occurs to him that neither of them were around for everything that happened.

However, thanks to her week of classes, and regular meditation sessions, is able to reform herself after only a few moments. Jessa's tray drops onto the rails put there for that purpose as she flinches back. Her hands and fingers shift into long, blade-fingered talons as she drops into a defensive crouch. The purple flecks grow and blend into streaks that cross her iris from sclera to pupil. Her expletive infused exclamation is decidedly not lady-like.

As she sees what made the sudden motion and sound, and as Serrin pulls herself back together, Jessa comes out of her crouch. She stands for long moments trying to regulate her breathing before her fingers and hands change back into something that can hold a tray without damaging it.

As she picks up her tray, she speaks over Serrin's shoulder to the others in line, "Sorry, my bad." It has the sound of something she says a lot. She glances back to Serrin as she gets the line moving again, "Sorry about that, I didn't mean to startle you. But I must disagree, my control seems to be getting worse the more I meditate."

Korren walked quietly beside the 'nurse', his bladed legs digging gouges in the soft soil. The nurse, a person Korren was sure was actually nothing of the sort, was prattling on about virtually nothing of any importance. Korren simply reveled in the feeling of being outside.

Never before had they kept a pleasant facade going for so long, and though Korren expected the tortures to start up again at any moment, he was content to enjoy the present while it lasted.

His stomach growled audibly, and the 'nurse' turned to him with a small smile on her face, "Korren, would you like to try eating in the cafeteria?" Her voice was the same as one might use with a small child or an invalid. Why did they insist on using that voice?

The cafeteria. Perhaps. Yes, he would see if they would permit him to see the other subjects and allow him to eat along side them. "Yes," he said to the 'nurse', "Take me to the cafeteria."

"Anything else, M'lady?"

"That will be all, thank you Thel." she gives an uncharacteristically warm smile as she stacks the now-graded papers and sets them aside.

"On the other hand, it would save me time if you could go to the Student Council office and check if they have anything they need me to do. I ought to look in on Ginni and see if there is any progress."

He hesitates just the slightest.
"Of course M'lady. How shall I reach you with the answer?"

vis's foot taps nervously, fidgeting a bit.

"Mostly talking and eating so far, but we're gonna play a super fun game in a little bit. You can play too! Well, might be easier for you anyways. I don't know. I've never asked you if you can fly. I can't fly on my own cause if I try my wings just crumple up all broken. But I am not giving up! Not me! I love to do all kinds of stunts and stuff. So Lang is gonna make these balls of air that I can bounce around in and do fun tricks! It'll be great! You should play too."

"It's dinner, Grim. Dinner is the one after classes. Lunch is the one in the middle of the day. And breakfast is the first meal of the day," Ignace said quietly, trying not to call too much attention to herself. It wasn't the first time she'd noticed Grim not quite getting it when it came to times of day. She wasn't sure they had days where he was from.

At his question Dave looks nervous "ah well that's a bit of a long story there... Suffice it to say I awoke a new power shortly before meeting you guys, and didn't realize it. And now that power is sealed.... Feels like I'm walking around blind in one eye"

"Ooooh, one of those danger to yourself and others kind of powers," she said sympathetically. "Yeah, that's rough."

She tried to eat more enchiladas, but discovered to her dismay that she had finished everything in the pan. She frowned and started in on the quesadillas and guacamole. Not as good as enchiladas, but at least there was melted cheese involved.

He distracts himself with some kind of meat loaf, he didn't bother to check the label with it.

"Well, Nala took over the minds of half the school and tried to kill me ...err.....my sister....errr...well, technically both. It's complicated. I was technically dead at the time, but my ghost was possessing my sister who is sort of technically me from another universe. Let's just not try to sort that one out. Point being that Nala was forgiven and is on the teaching staff now. Well, part of that had to do with meeting her mother I'm told. I guess it explained a lot. But anyhow, whatever you did can't be worse than that. I'm sure it'll blow over soon enough," she said in a very misguided attempt at being reassuring.

"Huh, I hadn't heard of that.... Well... Since it's apparently sharing time.... I apparently accidentally mind controlled a bout a dozen or two people into feeling good when they were around me or thought well of me or helped me and things like that, one of them was a girl I was dating. But yeah... By comparison that seems much smaller.... Thanks I guess?"

She sighed. It was one of those days. "It isn't exactly a difficult question," she said crossly.

From down the hall, Kezzin can hear Asha's voice. "Yeah, yeah. I got it the first five times. Only practice landing inside the SIM rooms so I won't sustain real injuries."

"You are not taking this seriouzzly enough, young lady!" another voice scolded her. "A shattered arm, punctured lung, and ruptured kidney is not zzzomething to take lightly."

Asha rolled her eyes. "Before I came here, that list would have meant it was one of the good days. Seriously, just actually read my chart, okay? Besides, I'm fine now. So no big." She stopped when she saw Kezzin talking to the nurse, a very frazzled looking mantis creature trailing her. "Oh, hey Kezzin," she said cheerfully. "Did you get confused about where we were supposed to meet?"

He looks a bit uncertain, then glances back out the door. When he turns back to Asha, he is more sure of himself, "Not exactly. You just seemed really hurt, so I wanted to come and make sure you were okay. Sorry if I intruded."

"Well if we're playing that game, I've been intentionally f@$#ing people over for centuries."

This sounds like something he'd readily admit, but is doing so as a show of solidarity. He was rather in need of friends.

"Most people knew to expect it from a genie, and I had to get creative, but the really greedy people will just ask for anything, and I could have some fun. If I ever got any time out of that damn bottle, it was when the flavor of the day was holed up hiding from request one or two."

He seems very nonchalant about being so openly antagonistic to people. He's leaned far back on the couch with his leg stance wide and one pair of hands laced over his belly while the others have a fork turning in the air between them, upheld by a small draft.
