Like that one time we had 6 players and no-one had Computers...that Hireling was insanely useful.

In the case of (1) we are working on moving, or at least mirroring the coordinator's list on the OPF website where we have more control over it being updated. As such, new appointments and promotions should appear much more quickly.
As I was just about to make a post regarding this, is there any news on when that is going to be updated? Or is it something they will look into now GenCon is finished?
Unfortunately the list on Paizo is pretty out of date, so would be nice to see/celebrate all the new VOs who have made the list!

Very excited for these! Seeing forum names I know for the quests, and to see Matt back (I loved To Conquer the Dragon especially running it -insert evil smile-)
I've run that scenario multiple times, it's a happy trip and everyone I've run it for enjoys the ridiculousness that comes from a tripped out NPC. But that's me personally.
Or maybe you should at least pay the Giant Rat?
A thought I had regarding Online play vs 6 month on-hold for a failed evaluation.
You then run a meatspace table in the meantime for a VC and they fail you, and your 6 month on-hold kicks in.
What happens do your PBP table? Do you now need to stretch it over 6 months? Do you get to have it evaluated because you started before the 6 months? Does it suddenly become an invalid table?
Are there rules and a committee for deciding what happens in these cases?
What worries me is the powers/feats/spells, there is no mention of retraining, which means kind of like Starfinder your first and even possibly second character are going to be generic, with only common abilities, until you can earn points to get an uncommon one.
To be honest, I don't think this is a bad thing. I have still found that there is enough variance in Starfinder that it's ok, no-one brings exactly the same character, and yes, some powers/feats/spells are better than others (*coughEnhanced Resistance*cough*) and see more play, but everyone starting the game and learning the rules, is generic really a bad thing? I don't mind seeing not highly overpowered characters with s**t tons of great gear early on. It makes it more of a immersive and thinking experience when you are just bringing overpowered things to bear and actually have to plan your way around a combat, something which I still experience and enjoy to be honest even as a GM, watching my players have to think and engage their combats is fascinating, especially as I've started Seeker PF1 which is a lot of unload dice and death in every combat.
I understand the concern, and I have no idea how it will play out in PF2 (I think everything is a varying degree of speculation until product actually drops), but as it is, I liked the way Starfinder started and has continued.

Honestly, the fact you're so open about what you're doing and allow us input, even if it does sometimes feel like we carry on a bit, is actually awesome.
It is kinda great to see someone that cares for the community and doesn't sit in the dictator chair and make decisions (this is not aimed at any other community in general, just a comparison of what it could be)
I'm excited to see what you come up with!
Who purchases the scanning equipment? Who pays for the hotspot in the Sagamore?
There is an app (which admittedly I found out about today) called Microsoft Office Lens.
You can take photos and convert them to PDFs and upload them to OneDrive on your phone. Or if you're offline? Perfect, save it to your gallery, then upload it later. Or send it to people who don't have phones?
Not sure if this would help people at all? Seems useful but no idea about viability for big cons?
Very happy with everything listed aside from adopting Infamy from Starfinder. I find it hasn't been used often enough as an explicit callout to warrant it.
Shouldn't this be a good thing haha? Means you don't have a murder hobo type group. Trust me, a lot of scenarios have Infamy written in (even seen 1 that has it like 3 times) but I know a lot of my guys don't think in a way to do that.
Having said that, 1 of my players has got Infamy, they thought it was a cool add on to their character until they released the drawbacks they had.
"Most PCs are unlikely to earn this." on purpose.
Yeah, you get a warning before doing something infamous (as in Starfinder the scenario points this out specifically) like: Physically assaulting this NPC will give each PC who engaged with the assault 1 Infamy.
And the GM must warn you. Like: You think that punching this NPC will make you pretty infamous with the rest of the station
So yeah, it's impossible to earn by accident basically.
To be perfectly honest...when I ran tables at Con of the North for the 7-10 scenario. There were 6 slots booked and I was to GM 4 of them.
2 tables fell through
So out of 3 actual tables, there were about 6 or 7 actual characters.
I'm sorry but in my eyes, that means we need more 3-6 and 5-8's first.
If this season had 1 7-10 and 1 9-12, I would be perfectly fine with that. I can barely even run a 7-10 in the Netherlands as I think I have 5 players with a level 7 or above, of which 3 of us have played the scenario in Minnesota. And 3 of those are due to AP credit (not mine incidentally, mine is pure masochism from playing too much :P)
I know this isn't the case in a lot of places, but at the moment that 7-10 is one I'm saving and is going to be a special scenario to run here as it's so exclusive and difficult to get to.
TLDR: Bring on more 1-4, 3-6, 5-8's and let's have 7-10, 9-12 be exclusive and rare for this season at least!
But of course, that's just my humble opinion!

My first GM experience for PFS had the local VC at my table and I have GM'd for more than one VC in more than one system since. On the other hand, were my family to move to Perth, Western Australia then I would be unlikely to see a VC in person except when travelling. I am sure Tonya and crew are quite aware of the variety of situations and trying to find the best balance possible.
As someone who lived in Perth, Western Australia for 13 years...I can second this. When it is cheaper to fly to Bali that it is to fly within your own state/country, it becomes a very expensive exercise to go and see VCs (or anyone for that matter) in different states to get your evaluation if you need multiple evaluations.
I agree, I'm sure Tonya and the crew will try and get the best balance possible!

So while I agree that there should be some kind of vetting system, I have a real problem when it comes to 1 or 3 here (as I've quoted)
I live in the Netherlands, we have 1 VC, who I GM for on a semi-regular basis, and who is approaching/got her first Nova already, however, we only run 2 conventions a year, which she runs, so having her watch one of my games during a convention is out the question realistically. So now I have to find an independent reviewer. The closest VC's to me are in Germany...I know and have played/run with most of those guys already, so I'm stuck there too. I was recently in Minnesota to play at Con of the North, low and behold, I GM'd and played with a few more there, including Hilary, so now my online experience is starting to not qualify (I know, I know, there are multiple VC's online, but you can see what I'm getting at?) Where does leave me? Do I need to stop going to conventions until I'm close, and then hunt random VC's at conventions I do go to (which counts out Netherlands and Germany, so now I need to invest in serious overseas flights to get my games in...or ship VC's in...and they need an incentive to do that (apart from Stroopwafels)).
Honestly, that's a pain in the ass.
And they also need to fulfil number 3 as well? I think there is 1 VC GM between Germany and the Netherlands that has 2 Novas, and I know him well, even if we haven't played together a lot.
How am I supposed to deal with this? Are there special rules? Or do we just make it guidelines we can deal with.
This is not me smashing your idea (totally haha), I like the idea that we set up some kind of system, but I felt I should give input here!
Yep! I ran the first one a couple of times and played it at Con of the North, definitely worth having that boon!
Also, my Pahtra Operative is already getting play! I went for the Spanish accent for Vesk 6...otherwise the name Purrnelope just doesn't have the same ring to it!
@Thursty, I totally understand the reverse canon trap, definitely something to avoid, however I look forward to whatever you can bring, having the Captain reappear in was really great for the players that had played the scenario too!
I would just change "gentlemen explorer archeologists" to be a bit more inclusive of everyone, gentlemen explorer or not that's all!
Apart from that, super easy to read and gives a nice background plus the colours, humourous tone is fantastic!
Yes it is.
According to the Alien Archive 1, page 156 "Stellar Alignment"
The creature is aligned to the cycles of solar systems. Creatures
If a creature has stellar alignment (graviton) or stellar
Format: Other Abilities stellar alignment (graviton).
So the reason that you can't tell is because it is always included, and never turned off. So using the Supernova doesn't end attunement, just stops it being full, then roll 1d3 to see how it takes to recharge!
Okay a single use Promotional Boon I could get behind.
I'm adding my +1 to this as well.
Btw my preferred option is not to have it by the way...I think it adds far too much randomness to society play and I wouldn't be in favour.
If it has to be done then I +1 that option for implementation.

Hopefully AA2 will become legal soon...then she can have a Squox! :D
stares wistfully into the distance hoping to see a Squox act like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible...dangling from cable over an enemy..doing crazy stunts
Awesome!! Time for my Skittermander to meet this Skittermander, and Second Seekers Jadnura to boot! Match made in heaven! (Jadnura has more arms...therefore Jadnura is more equal than Luwazi...who is of course still equal...just less equal..)
Also got the GM Sense switched into overdrive with the mention of a 7-10!!!!
Yeah I'm with you on this, as part of the Netherlands (with Lau), to make a convention work we have to get the whole country involved...people from all over need to come for us to get enough tables/slots/GMs/etc.
We are also fully open to have other countries come over and it has worked well so far, but to see Tonya say they aren't withdrawing support for PF1 is great, but I also agree we need some replay option, not everyone wants to go to PF2, and from the players, I've noticed some 3 or 4 star GMs who don't want anything to do with it (yet). This means we need an option for replays in case they don't want to move (GM headcount is critical for us, no matter what system).
On a personal level, I don't really have a view on how much the replay count should be, as I only GM Starfinder but I agree there should be a structure in place otherwise we risk alienating a lot of our players. (Only need a few to make quite a % difference)
Just ran it today!
It went fairly well and my 4 player party loved the setting. The Driftdead was easy for them as the Technomancer blew 5 full round magic missiles on it and I hit twice in 6 rounds of full attacks and everyone saved for confusion (Tier 3/4).
The starship combat was horrendous...90mins in and I'd dealt them 1HP damage and they had dealt me 3HP damage total. This lead me to call it with the reasoning being if you had survived so long against a Vesk, you were worthy and honourable.
One hilarious moment was them offering up the rule noone could shoot the asteroid to the Vesk which he gladly accepted!
All in all a fantastic scenario and that Xill is nasty and implanted someone leading to an exact replica of the scene from Alien but this time it was the Android that was on the table getting cut open to get the larvae out!

Will there be a disadvantage to playing this before 1-17? I am frustrated that I do not think I will have time to play it before my Gameday.
I played the special at Paizocon UK, and then 1-17 the next day, no real disadvantage honestly! :)
