Charva will pull out her gun (if she hadn't done so already) and will cast Fear on the two Grioths

Are they CR4 or lower?

DC19 Will Save please, succeed and take 6 non-lethal.
2nd: When you cast fear as a 2nd-level spell, it affects one living creature of CR 4 or lower per 3 caster levels at medium range (100 feet + 10 feet/level), no two of which can be more than 30 feet apart. Each target must succeed at a Will saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute.

Firstly, thanks for the work you do Shifty, moved away from Sydney 3 years back, so can understand all the bushfires etc keeping ya busy.

Secondly, I wanted to mention that Paizo's rule this year has been "if you were running a game in meatspace, that went online, then it's still meatspace technically."

We run our games online in the Netherlands, and still use RSP as they were from a physical location forced online, so even though we get internationals, they get access to our RSP too.

I did 2 Evaluations at GenCon because it would have been meatspace, and had 2 non-Online VCs do my evals.

We have a Convention coming up in October (humble advertising) and thinking of doing my 3rd eval somewhere near there.

I was also hit by the nerf to Free RPG day games too so I feel that, but there are still options! Australia will be back to normal before the rest of us so once you're back from Domestic duties, hop online and find some non-online VCs to do your evals. Easy done mate :)

Hope that helps explain stuff too :)

Before you stands a Large Uplifted Bear, in Heavy Armour with an intimidating looking Red Star Plasma Doshko. He smiles as he looks around at the agents assembled here.

"Sorry, where are my manners, my name is Teddington, I'm a Guard Soldier, and the one designated to keep you lot alive and bring you back safely." He looks slightly embarrassed about having yelled so loud.

"I understand it's not your first rodeo, but I've not lost a Starfinder who I've worked with, and I don't want to start now!"

In Normal Combat, I am the frontliner, I will run in there and soak up the damage, in Starship Combat I have +9 Engineering, or can be a Chief Mate with +14 in Athletics

Any chance we can have Kate Baker speak at next's year PaizoCon if she's available? Was absolutely looking forward to that, and the main reason I bought the banquet ticket!

For these checks, I think it’s kinda assumed that most parties will have Luku with them (lowering the DC by 5). Three attempts at DC 32 is far more likely to have one success. My big gripe is that there’s no benefit for success (or penalty for failure). I like it when succeeding at really hard checks gives you a +1 or +2 on something later in the scenario.

But this is the issue, I ran it for Kwinten, and they all tried this check, and not enough of them made it to get Luku with them. So having it "kinda assumed" is rubbish, as in reality there is a big chance they just roll badly and don't make it, then they are stuck with DC37s.

Ok, so there is a major typo and I want clarification on what it should read.

Page 20 for 4 player adjustment: "Both Subtiers: Reduce the Perception DC, Disable DC, and attack bonus of the laser blast trap by 21"

I assume this means reduce it by 2 right? Because 21 is ridiculous.

Also, if B6 and B7 are the same, do the comm units say exactly the same thing as well?

I'll be running this in February with my local gaming group. One of them has run this before. Question is, do I warn them or not? I feel I should, but would hate to ruin the surprise

The way I did this, was by when the monster appeared and swung at them, I just asked if a 38 or so vs their AC was a hit.

They got the hint pretty quick. No warning was required after that.

However, if they read the scenario blurb, it does make it sound like they wake the Balrog:

"However, they're not alone. The PCs soon discover not only that something is waking up, but also that there are some secrets best left undisturbed."

Having said all this, Paizo should just chuck the Horror tag on this.

So it's totally up to you, you can just mention it's a horror scenario without going into specifics right?

I have Teddington, Uplifted Bear Guard Soldier - styled like an American Drill Sarge, "If any of you Starfinders die on this mission, I will personally kill you"

Much fun and hilarity, and un-bear-able puns of course. People want me to paws them when we play, but I have a "all pun, all the time" claws in my Starfinder Contract.

To be honest, as someone who ran away from a lot of problems in my early 20's, before I learned to deal with them, this guy is actually the most super relatable one! I feel he'll be relatable for quite a few people too.

I totally dig it, and will look for ways to atone slightly when/if I play with him!

Hirelings disrupted that game balance.

Did they? Honestly?

When I sit down with my Cha 08 Android, I'm not going to slot his Bluff/Diplomacy/Intimidate Hireling if there's a dedicated Envoy at the table.

When I sit down with my Int 10 Halfling, I'm not going to slot her Computers/Engineering Hireling if there's a dedicated Tech character at the table.

Why? Because a dedicated character will have a much higher skill bonus.

Hirelings only help shore up a party that is lacking in any one area.

Like that one time we had 6 players and no-one had Computers...that Hireling was insanely useful.

One of my favourite things I did running that scenario...give them a French accent...one of our players now has a French Morlamaw making his way around tables :D
