Guys. We should use or boost the aid token ASAP

![]() |

I was going to add it to my damage, but forgot.
I'll do it next round, or if the GM wants...
bonus damage: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 1) = 8

Bret, I just created an alias for my summoned creatures named "SFS Summons". The three options I chose are listed under the spoiler tag I have on that profile. If you happen to look it over, please let me know if you identify any errors. I'm new to summoning! :)

![]() |

@Desha, you can choose 4 creatures and pick 1, but if they are Tiny (1st Level) you summon 3 instead of 1.
Hope that helps!
But your 3 options check out as correct

GM Bret |

Thank you for doing that. It will help me keep straight what is happening.
Since she has it at 2nd level, she gets 4 second level and 4 1st creatures to choose from, and they don’t have to be the same. The stat blocks she has there appear correct for a Summon Monster II. The option to take multiple of the lesser creature is available, but I doubt multiple 1st level summons are worth it.
Since she has the spell at 2nd level, she can downcast it as a first level spell if she ever chooses to. The 1st level creatures are tiny. At this point, I doubt she will find much use for them.
I’ve been running a Technomancer with summons, Neon Ten. With him, I found the easiest way to handle it was to create a separate document with all the critters in it. I would then cut and paste the proper critter into the alias while summoning.
I had originally done as Desha did, but with spoilers on each section so only the current summon was visible. After doing it a couple of times, I decided it was easier for me to keep them as a separate document and cut and paste.
DD doesn’t have to do it that way, just mentioning it as an option to consider.
If you need a suggestion on a 4th creature, take a Water Elemental and learn Aquan. The Quench ability makes them useful when things catch fire, but you need to be able to talk to them for that.

A shirren by the name of Klysk, a slightly more senior Starfinder, drops by to provide assistance with an engineering problem, if needed.
Have an Aid Token boosted - Provide Knowledge (Engineering - hard).
Can we use the aid token on the skill check to destroy a critter?

Yes.

Okay, we're getting a bit into the weeds here, folks. Desha is not primarily a healer, but we're taking a lot of hits. I think as soon as we get the red beastie up onto that platform, we need to use the Aid Token and use the Level 3 ability from VC Arvin to use two Aid Token benefits. We can use one to take care of the Engineering check to destroy red, then use the First Aid ability to heal everybody up 3d6. Sound like a plan?

GM Hmm |

You can do it!

Thanks for the encouragement! This encounter just has a lot of complicating elements, what with us having to knock out the enemies that don't stay down, then drag/lure them up onto the towers that only a few of us can actually climb, then make a check once we get them by the devices.
All to say, Desha is not my best PC for this encounter. :(
But hey, that's why teamwork is a thing, right folks?

![]() |

Desha was born as a 2nd level PC due to that boon if that counts. In case it does, she started this scenario at 13xp.
Also, dang! We were just a bit slow on getting those godblood's down! Oh well. Hopefully our earlier successes contributed meaningfully to the "room's" overall success!
In any case, boon roll time!
Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Huzzah!
Which boon?: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Yes, that is exactly what I meant. Congratulations, you gain more XP than expected.
This chronicle will bring you to 17 xp.
Congrats on the boon as well. I will let you know what it was after I report the game.

![]() |

Whoa, that's quite a jump! Wasn't expecting to hit level 6 already, and nearly to level 7, but I'll definitely take it!

![]() |

Did any of your characters advance to 2nd level as a result of the Scoured Stars Veteran boon?
If you did, I need to know your starting XP on this adventure.
Yes, I did. I'm at 15XP.
boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Yeah, so close, we'd just gotten the hang of it :/

Thanks very much for the game. Gunnz certainly enjoyed the space-fights, even if you did make her take the pickup-truck to the race.

![]() |

Nope. Gunnz has worked her way up the hard way. Dancing.

![]() |

Good point, could Princess Dh’Qa and Teddington either post or PM me their e-mail for boons?
I forgot to ask for that.
Also, I am going to assume Gunnz wasn’t started at 2nd level thanks to the Scoured Stars Veteran boon.
Of course.

And thank you for GMing! It was a hectic pace but very much appreciated :D!

GM Bret |

Boons won:
Gunnz
SFS Universal Explorer
Desha Doash
SFS Temporal Anomaly
Teddington
SFS Starfinder Season 1 Explorer
I have reported the game, but it may take a little bit of time before it shows up on the Paizo site.
Chronicles can be found here.
Please let me know if there are any questions. These chronicles are a little strange because of the Overcome the Past boon. I underlined which benefit you got for that boon.
Even if it is questions about the scenario and some of the background, feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer.
Hope to see you around another time!

![]() |

Thank you very much! It was a real pleasure :)
Where can we find out what the boons we won actually do?

![]() |

Already got it, so no dramas :D!

![]() |

I just want to make sure I'm understanding and applying this Overcome the Past boon correctly. So, standard procedure would be, character gains 1 XP, but gains 4 Fame (and presumably 4 Rep, or 5 with any faction related bonus) instead of 2 because "Hey special situation!"
On the other hand, if the PC leveled up to 2 because of the Scoured Stars Vet boon, though, they gain the normal 1 XP and 2 Fame/Rep (or 3 Rep from faction bonus), but then also gain an additional 3 XP and 5 Fame/Rep. This gives a total of 4 XP, 7 Fame, and 7-8 Rep. Is that right?
Also, since you offered, I'm curious: how come Jadnura is sticking around to commune with Kadrical? My impression was that Kadrical was kinda bad news, but now our former First Seeker is gonna go all kum-by-yah with him, and our Mystics can switch to worshiping him?
Also, what happened to Dhurus? Did Atraenus (or whatever his name was) take Dhurus out before we went down into the pit?
Thanks for running a great game! And thanks to the rest of the party for being amazing! Looking forward to gaming with all of you again sometime.

GM Bret |

I should have already applied Overcoming the Past on the chronicles.
Desha normally would have gotten 1 XP, 2 fame, 3 Rep w/Judnura. 1 Rep w/ Luwazi.
Overcoming for her gave an extra level, but kept her in the same tier.
Money is 4x Subtiers 5-6.
XP is 1+3=4
Rep Judnura is 3+5=8
Rep Luwazi is 1
Fame is 2+5=7.
That is how I got your chronicle numbers.
Princess Dh’Qa went to the next tier, so on her chronicle I gave the money calculations.
Gunnz got the other version, extra fame, on their chronicle.
Please let me know if I messed this up on anyone’s chronicle. I underlined which I applied in each case and did my best to check that I did it consistently.
——
I think it would be best if I answer your second question by saying play #1-31 Treading History’s Folly. That gives some very important background on Judnura’s motivations. I do not think I could explain this without it being a spoiler for that.
Dhurus is explained more in #1-34 Heart of the Foe. Once again, anything more I said would be spoilers for that.
If you want spoilers, PM me for them.
Something that would be clear to all of you is that Kadrical was betrayed by Dhurus. Given his mystic connections, I wouldn’t consider Kadrical the nicest of gods, but they aren’t evil either.
The whole Scoured Stars story is finding out about what happens when a divine herald attempts to take over and replace their god.
——
Dhurus got taken out (this time) by a team of level 9-10 Starfinder agents after he had defeated the divine herald Ailuros.
Charli Poshkettle, a gnome with her own tea franchise.
Id Sinitus, a shirren mystic dedicated to seeing the stars
Jerris “Maverick” Sakai, a human hot-shot pilot
Neon Ten, a vidcast pundit who has studied a lot of the sciences and magic
T’Kai, a gentler shirren mystic with the same focus on the stars
Tolar, a kasathan soldier that faced off Dhurus in direct melee
[Neon Ten is one of my characters.]
You were helping by taking out droplets of Dhurus’s blood that had become animate. Doing that and disabling the machines that were siphoning of Kadrical's divine energies into Dhurus help the high tier players, who were basically flying above you battling Dhurus.
Had you finished and gone for another round, a few of the drops of blood from that fight would have animated again resetting the machines.
Each of Tier 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12 saw only part of the final battle going on. The other tiers were doing their thing.

There are some wonderful Second Seekers adventures that go into more detail on Kadrical and Dhurus. You will have so much fun playing them!
From what has been already revealed during the course of this special, we can safely state that the god Kadrical has been sleeping, and that one of his four heralds, Dhurus, took advantage of the situation to try to seize control and impose his own evil vision. Another herald, Ailuros, has been hiding out as an ally of the society under the name Iteration-177.
So we've had a whole backstory of divine heralds fighting one another in the whole background of this jinsul storyline!
The fight against Dhurus was tough! Charli almost met Pharasma again! I took over 160 damage in two consecutive turns -- without 2 mystics and an aid token, I would have been dead!
You guys depowering the blood and the devices... you helped weaken the god so we could take him out. Thank you for doing your part!

![]() |

Coming over to join Charli, a ysoki says “Your connection to the First World helped, as did the information from the towers.”
He smiles, still floating just above the ground without use of a jet pack like the gnome has. If it weren’t for the armor and him flying like that, you would have thought him to be one of the support personnel.

![]() |

Hmm..I played both 1-31 and 1-34 and still came out confused. Must've missed something in there, or maybe my memory is suffering from all this quarantine madness. XD
Thanks for putting the fight into the wider context! Sounds like even our small contributions were making a difference, which is the great thing about these multi-table specials!
I'm also glad Charli made it through to the end! Those resurrections can be pricey!
Now I just have to decide if Desha is going to follow her beloved Jadnura in communing with Kadrical, or if she's going to stick with Hylax. After all, if I switch to Kadrical, I'll lose the benefits of my Divine Blessing feat, since there's not benefit listed for Kadrical!

GM Bret |

I love Hylax myself.
I know that locally one of our players was ecstatic to see the chance to switch like that. He had started with a mystic with the Healing connection and was dissatisfied with the connection. He jumped at the chance to change connections.
I would say if you are happy with your connection and god, stick with them.
As for the fighting, yes your contributions made a big difference. That is one of the great things about the multi-table specials is that it is the combined efforts.

![]() |

Desha, as a GM, I do my damnedest to get story bits out to players, but it can be tough sometimes. I was really impressed with the backstory in this season!
I agree. If you are happy with your connection and your god, stick with it!

![]() |

Yeah, I know it can be tough sometimes to make sure all the story bits and how they all connect are crystal clear, especially when it's sometimes months from one point of the meta-plot to another. I totally agree that the backstory this season was pretty amazing! Can't wait to dig more into the Year 2 plot!
I decided to stick with Hylax, both for the simplicity of not losing out on my divine blessing feat, and because I just don't think Kadrical's portfolio really fits Desha. She would--and has--follow Jadnura beyond the gates of hell, but she's gonna let him take this one.
