Hopefully everyone had a great time this past weekend. I think we need to share fun stories from the weekend, whether you traveled to GenCon, played online with GenCon Online or played somewhere else, ("GenCan't"). Share something fun from this past weekend.

I GM'd three sessions of PF2 and played in the Starfinder Interactive as part of GenCon Online. I had a great time playing with players from across the US, from UK and from Canada. As a GM:
- I saw a Barbarian swallowed by a giant plant and escape in the nick of time.
- I saw another Barbarian (Gnome) absolutely wreck his fellow party member on the first round of the first fight (thanks Confusion). Every initiative after that people were giving the poor guy grief (in a fun way).
- And my low level players in the interactive came together quickly and were a wrecking crew in most encounters.

As a player, I got to play one of my favorite characters (Pinky, a Contemplative Biohacker). My dice rolls were the best I've seen in a long time as Pinky became the hero of the Battle for the Bullwark. Maybe he's the only one calling himself that, but that counts, right?

What memories did you make last weekend?

Is that Narsen? I had no idea he was a cool Razmiran fighting monk. I love the image. All these scenarios look pretty cool.

Let me say up front, I was thrilled to see the Bhopan section in the new book Impossible Lands. I'm always thrilled to see little nuggets of Society play appear in published game content.

That said, I have one request for an update to the sanctioning with respect to the feats in the section.

When LO: Pathfinder Society Guide was published, we saw Rein of Embers published, along with two additional feats that required it as a pre-requisite. Rein of Embers is a rare class feat for which access is available if you play the right scenario. Since the two subsequent feats are common, only access to Rein of Embers is required.

With Impossible Lands, they published another feat that debuted in a scenario - Fey Influence. In this book all the feats that use this as a pre-requisite are also rare. So even though I have the pre-requisite, it appears "standard availability" means I still need access.

Can we get a clarification on access here? Is having the pre-requisite enough? Or does a character need both the pre-requisite and "access" to the other feats?

Getting ready to run this one. I like the story, but it took a few reads to get every the details down. Has anyone who has run this got some tips for Encounter A? The baseline at high sub-tier is a large and two huge creatures in a room that's 3 x 4. Best I can think of is the huge creatures drop from the ceiling in the larger grand hall - after the PCs trigger by opening the door.

I feel like I need a new forum topic with no drama or angst. Just a fun celebration of the hobby we love and share.

So let's share some of the common story. Over the many years of scenarios, who is your favorite NPC. The one you just can't forget. Maybe he or she was an adversary, a friend, or just someone you met along the way.

I'll go first. My favorite NPC appeared once, in PFS1 6-15, The Overflow Archives, by Scott Sharplin. Alas, poor Virmil. A Pathfinder wannabe, he could have been any of us. Sneaks into an archive to do a little after hours exploration -- tricked by a fey, tortured by tooth fairies and ends the scenario on Kreighton Shane's naughty list. In the end, he's a bit player in his own adventure as the PCs save the day. Poor fellow. Somehow, though, he stuck in my mind.

When second edition hit, he was one of the first three characters I built. Long term exposure to the First World affected my Virmil and he's now a Fey Sorcerer. I've had great fun giving this poor overlooked NPC a slightly more heroic history.

So who's that NPC that stuck with you, and why?

Scarab Sages 3/5 **** Venture-Lieutenant, Nebraska—Bellevue

Simple question. I'm preparing this to run later in the week. Is there any reason the Recall Knowledge check at the beginning is secret? There is no failure or critical failure result and all the results don't indicate knowing some obscure knowledge, but instead describe success at the action of navigating the boat.

Any reason not to make that a public player rolled check?

Scarab Sages 3/5 **** Venture-Lieutenant, Nebraska—Bellevue

Thought I'd point out what I think is a glitch in the online guide that could short some 1st level PCs the results of a critical success on an Earn Income check.

Per the guide:

PFS Guide wrote:
Make one check using either the Crafting, Lore, or Performance Skill for each Earn Income Downtime Unit (including units where you complete multiple activities, such as spending 7 days retraining and then 1 day Earning Income). Task Levels for Earn Income checks equal character level – 2 (minimum 0) though some boons allow checks against higher-level tasks. Compare check result to task level on Table 4-2: Income Earned (Core Rulebook 236) for the daily earning rate, then multiply that rate by the number of Downtime days used for Earn Income in the Downtime Unit.

So first and second level characters are attempting Task Level 0 checks for earn income. A critical success will bump them to the next higher Task Level (CRB, pg 237)

The simple table in the online guide mentions this critical success result, but by combining 1st and 2nd level characters on the same line and only mentioning level (not differentiating task level from character level), some GMs might be awarding based on character level. Meaning some 1st level characters may only get 4sp - success as a 2nd level character rather than 1.6gp - success at Task level 1.

Might not seem like much after a few levels, but it might be worth clarifying in the table.

LO Mwangi Expanse is new. So maybe I'm missing something. But it looks like sanctioning needs one minor add.

Some of the rare ancestries now sanctioned have a potentially frustrating gap in starting languages. The Conrasu, for example says the following: you get the following starting languages - Mwangi, Rasu

You get Additional languages equal to your Intelligence modifier (if it is positive). Choose from Celestial, Elven, Iruxi, Sylvan, Terran, Utopian, and any other languages to which you have access (such as the languages prevalent to your region).

Now there's a sidebar that talks about Mwangi being the common tongue in the Mwangi Expanse. (Rather than Taldane, the language we all know as "common"). So the "languages prevalent to your region" probably doesn't include Common/Taldane.

So it seems like there is no means for someone to build a character of these ancestries with Common/Taldane. Which means there is a distinct possibility of sitting down at a table with someone whose character can't speak to any of the other characters at the table. That's not useful in Organized Play where we can't predict our table-mates.

Given that these ancestries require a significant ACP expenditure to qualify as an agent of the Pathfinder Society, it should include free training in Common/Taldane. Story-wise, we all train at the Grand Lodge in Absalom. Surely there's opportunity. I'd suggest a small update to sanctioning to clarify that. Unless someone else can point out where that happens in the rules somewhere else.

Just ran the Beginner Box for PFS credit. Noticed a couple of things that might help GM prep.

Room 8 - The adventure text and inset map in the GM Guide describe and show two doors. One on each end of the short hallway. The flip map and the PDF of the flip map are missing the second door. That second door is part of the trap trigger. GMs should add it back in.

Room 11 - Room description and map inset show 2 kobold warriors. Stat block on the page indicates 3. I ran with two, but I suspect my group could have handled the third kobold warrior.

I ran for a group of experienced players. So we didn't have to explain much along the way. We finished early as a result. So it felt like if I'd had beginning players, we'd have had plenty of time to explain things as we went. The encounters each progressively added something new. Seems like this would be a good scenario to use as an intro game for a Convention or game store event.

Not much has been published on the new Summoner Iconic - and maybe I'm posting this too late to influence anything. I have no idea when the new book goes to print. This new Summoner iconic appears to be a young girl with a pet dragon.

I'd like to ask that we not see child iconics. Pathfinder as a game involves combat against a variety of beasts and monsters. Art and fiction depicting a child iconic as either the target of violence or the instigator seems inappropriate.

Indeed, PFS has a ground rule that your character must be at least a young adult. Probably because they want to avoid just that situation at the table.

Maybe I'm mistaken, and this is an adult Halfling or Gnome. But the initial art did not seem to reflect that.

I recognize that there are plenty of ways to run home games and that we have child players playing Pathfinder. I'm sure all those GMs can handle that situation in a appropriate manner. I'm mainly concerned with the public image that iconic could present.

Just my thoughts. Open minded to other thoughts.

Open letter to the Organized Play staff.

I am in the process of closing the books on Nuke-Con 2020. I know you're seeing a lot of "feedback" on some of the other posts. I just wanted to say thank you:

- To OP staff and program in general. As always, your convention support is appreciated. The Paizo vouchers are always a big hit. This year you got the scenarios to our GMs faster than I've seen for any of our local conventions in the past.

- To Alex. For quickly responding to and answering my questions.

- To the authors. The scenarios we've played over the last year are engaging and interesting. I look forward to experiencing the new story lines.

To sum up what I wanted to say. While we may discuss, debate and deliberate on mechanics, rules and implementation .... The Paizo family of organized play games are great fun and are very appreciated.

Scarab Sages 3/5 **** Venture-Lieutenant, Nebraska—Bellevue

OK, this is more a question on bounty structure.

As GM for a group playing for PFS credit ....

When I give out 1 hero point to each player,
Do I let them pick up the free school items?
Do they slot or use boons?
Do they get to apply the bonus hero points for GMs with Glyphs.

Are these closer to campaign mode of an AP, where as a GM I have more leeway AND players happen to assign credit to a PFS character?

OR

Is this still a Society game (albeit introductory/streamlined, 1st level) with all the corresponding rules from the guide?

Perhaps this question will be addressed in the Guide next week, but would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks.

Hey folks. Just want to get the word out about Nuke-Con 2020 from Oct 2-4. Event registration is online at the convention web-page at Nuke Con 2020

Wanted to get the word out as we will host a small 5-table session of the new PFS2 interactive.

We will also have the latest in Starfinder, Pathfinder 2nd ed, and Adventure Card Society scenarios as well as some Pathfinder 1st edition "golden oldies".

We look forward to you joining online in "virtual Omaha"

One year after release, I think PF2 gives us a lot of character development options and I thought of this little challenge - Develop a character concept and story that uses as many of the published books as possible.

The concept should be PFS legal - and I'm not worried about if it's a mechanically superior character. Just that it's a cohesive story.

My example.

Nindr is an Ekujae Elf (AoA2) who has lived a very long time (Ancient Elf, LOCG) in the depths of the Mwangi jungle. He is haunted by the spirits of his ancestors going back to their return from Earthfall (Oracle, Ancestors curse, APG). He had tried to reconcile the myriad memories of his ancestors through study at Magaambya (Magaambya Academic background, LOWG). The long years of study have not been able to remove the curse, but left him with a stronger connection to Yuelral (elven god of knowledge, LOGM) (Ancient Elf grants multi-class dedication of Cleric, CRB).

Recent Pathfinder Society in the Mwangi has drawn his attention away from his secluded studies. Perhaps they might have the secret to a cure buried in their archives.

So simple example. I'm curious what you guys may come up with.

Had a lot of fun running this one last night, but discovered something interesting about the fight.

I can't find anything that makes an otyugh immune to the sewer ooze's filth wave.

No acid immunity. My otyughs actually made every Reflex save, so they weren't affected. But not because they have any immunity.

And I can't find anything that makes a sewer ooze immune to the otyugh's aura.

Logic tells me they should be, but two of the sewer oozes started off sickened because of the otyugh's stench aura. They don't appear to be immune to sickened.

Interesting interactions, but definitely a fun scenario.

So, I've been doing a deeper dive into the Organized Play Guide, because I don't feel I've been getting the most out of the faction boons. Some are really good.

But I ran into one that's making me go back and question the All Factions - Resurrection Boon.

For 25 Fame, a player can purchase a Raise Dead spell; for 50 fame I can purchase a Resurrection ritual. It doesn't mention the material cost of the ritual and I've always assumed that any gold cost is wrapped up in the Fame cost.

The Envoy's Alliance has a boon, Bring Them Back Alive, at Tier 3. It's a social boon, so it takes a slot. It lets you and your allies treat your level as one lower for the Raise Dead spell or the Resurrection ritual.

What does that do if we pay for all expenses with the Fame expenditure? Seems useless unless we're supposed to be paying the material cost of the spell or ritual.

That seems prohibitively expensive if that's the case, though. Let's say you've squeaked by the threshold for 3rd level (24 XP) and saved your XP. The worst happens, but you've saved all of the 25 fame for a Raise Dead. Are you expected to pay the 600gp material cost too? At 3.8gp per bundle or 38 gp per scenario, you'd be pretty wiped out cash-wise. Which makes me feel like the fame is inclusive of the material cost.

But if that's the case, what does that Envoy's Alliance boon do? Any ideas?

Scarab Sages 3/5 **** Venture-Lieutenant, Nebraska—Bellevue

Hey folks, need to crowd-source this a little.

I have a PFS2 Bard (Pathfinder Dedication) who is Grand Archive and is now investing in some Off-Hours Study (tier 1 GA boon) to pick up a new Lore skill.

His story started with the Free RPG Day, We Be Heroes boon. He knows the knights story from that narrow escape.

Subsequently many of the scenarios I've played him in have involved undead. So my initial thought was he's using Off-hours Study to do his homework on the threat of the Whispering Tyrant and his undead hordes.

But after rereading the Common Lore Subcategories sidebar on page 248 of the CRB, I'm concerned that "Undead Lore" may be too broad for a Lore skill. The sidebar suggests that Lore is limited to a narrow category of creatures.

So I'm looking for suggestions of an appropriate Lore subcategory that would represent that kind of interest.

Any thoughts?

I hear there are some folks in the fields not far from Absalom that would make great members of the Society. They are extremely loyal and already know how to dig up old bones. Get to know them and they easily could become a fella's best friend. Envoy's Alliance, we really need to start recruiting some of these Shoony into the Society.

In all honesty, I feel in love with this ancestry when I read the feat, Dig Quickly. I hope we can see a path to get them PFS sanctioned real soon.

As a frequent GM for PFS, I enthusiastically pick up Flip Maps for scenarios I run. I love the time-saving factor of not having to draw a map ahead of time. But I've been hesitant to jump on board with the map-tiles. They seem to produce relatively simple maps I can duplicate easily.

All that said, I had a chance to sit in as a player in PFS2 1-06, Lost on the Spirit Road last weekend. Here we ran into a new complaint with the map tiles. Dead time. The GM ran the scenario through the first encounter (flip map) and then we got to the next map. We had to stop everything for 10-15 min, while the GM sorted through his box of tiles and laid out the 20 tile required for a simple forest trail setup. During that dead time, players wandered off, spent time on their cell phones and generally disconnected.

Then, after what turned out to be a quick encounter, The GM had to stop the game again for 10-15 minutes to set up the next encounter. Now he had to sort through the tiles on the table, the tiles in the box and set up a new 20 tile map. Again, more dead time for the players to disconnect from the game.

In both cases, I stayed and helped the GM sort through the tiles. But we lost the attention of the players twice in the scenario. Is this the experience other players and GMs are having? As a GM, I'm planning not to get the tiles at this point and pre-draw those maps.

For organized play authors (and team members who may select maps), please consider how much dead time is required for the large tile maps.

I've really been enjoying the quest line and this one looks like another good one. I especially like the hints and connections between these and the full length scenarios. The quests have had two of the more creative boons in second edition too.

Best part, the roughly 1 hour format has opened up local options for weeknight gaming.

I'm prepping this to GM soon and I'm confused by two points.

page 6 - scaling encounter A2
There is only one adjustment, "for every 2 challenge points beyond 8, increase the hit points by 5 each, and the waterspout ability deals 1d4 additional damage." OK, worst case in a tier 1-4 is 42 challenge points (per the guide). That'd be 7 - 4th level PCs. That's 42-8 / 2 = 17 increments. Or 85 extra hit points and a waterspout that does 17d4 damage on the tier 3-4 serpent? Seems high since the Beastiary sea serpent caps out at 2d6+12 damage on the waterspout.

It seems like the scaling should have a separate adjustment for the high subtier.

page 7 - the Sea Serpents
The waterspout has the brutal trait. I'm not finding that in the CRB. Am I missing it somewhere?

I'm headed to BGG Con in Dallas this coming weekend. I was wondering if any other Society players are headed out there who might want to find time to squeeze in a 2e game.

If there is any interest, we might need to swap contact information (via direct message) so we can coordinate on the fly. My limited experience is they don't often schedule events ahead of time, so we might need to be a little flexible.

I know organizers are swamped and that this should be answered soon. But locally, we are planning PF2 Society events for September. The question is, Should we expect PF2 1-04 and 1-05 to release at the end of August (for September use) or at the end of September (for October use)?

If the later, when can we expect sanctioning documents for Plaguestone and the first adventure path? The enthusiastic response to PF2 locally could leave us with a lot of repeat scenarios in September.

Thanks!

I don't think I saw this in the CoCT rules. But I have a question about the Harrow blessing cards.

At the beginning of the first adventure, you perform a harrowing with the Dex based Harrow cards. What do you do with the leftover cards? I put them with the other blessings in the box. So they can be encountered or pop up as the hour.
But it's not clear they should go in there.

The other suits (STR, INT, etc) all have Harrow cards too. I didn't put them in the blessings in the box. Mainly because when I hit the next chapter, I need to do a new harrowing with a new suit. It' be a pain to pull them from the other blessings (or worse - from someone's deck who'd acquired one) to perform the harrowing.

Is there something I missed providing guidance on this?

Thanks.

No this isn't about playtest points.

I'm fortunate enough to play in an area where we're fairly active. In the Omaha NE metro area, we run regular Friday (alternate SFS/PFS) and Saturday (PFS) scenarios. We can run through a lot of scenarios in that time.

We know there will be a new AP, new module and four new PFS 2e scenarios. Hopefully we'll see PFS boons on the AP and module quickly. I'd also expect to see about 2 scenarios per month in the future. We'll have to run 1e scenarios just to keep from overloading the PFS 2e scenarios.

I was thinking about how to work around this dilemma and thought about a way to quickly add to that number of options. Open question to PFS organizers: Have you given any thought to updating the Playtest scenarios to PFS 2e? I'd imagine it'd be a little work. Updating monsters, traps and skill DCs. Also developing a chronicle sheet for them.

But with adventures set for level 1, 5, 5 and 10; I'd imagine it'd be easier than writing a new scenario from scratch. Heck, if you converted 1 per month, you'd probably pace with typical character growth. Turning Playtest 1, Rose Street Revenge into a level 1-2 quest alone would add to the playable material. Turn the second and third into 3-6s or narrower range 5-6s.

Well, just a thought anyway.

Scarab Sages

Sounds like a silly question. But I'm prepping to run a SFS scenario (no spoilers here) and this is the first time I've had to prep potential vehicle rules.

So for a move action, I can drive an Exploration Buggy at a speed of 15 feet (3 squares). That's half the speed of a human per turn (6 squares). Seems really slow.

On page 244, it says I can use a standard action to perform a move action. So I could "double move" and get to move 30 feet (6 squares). A human can "double move" 60 feet (12 squares).

As a full action, I can race (pg 278). That gives the exploration buggy a move of 350 feet -- 70 squares.

Seems like a huge difference. Seems like a big gap between drive and race. Shouldn't there be something in between? There should be something between "stomp on the gas" and "granny speed". (No offense to gaming granny's everywhere. Gaming grannys rock. Starfinder gaming grannys are incredible!)

That's why I think it makes sense to let someone in a vehicle run. On page 248, you can run as a full action at four times your speed in a straight line. This is only 12 squares, what a normal human can do in one "double move".

Now it makes sense that the exploration buggy is slow, but the police cruiser is not much better, only a speed of 25 feet. Which makes the POLICE CRUISER slower than the average human. Letting it run would still be slower than the human running on foot. Sorry TJ Hooker, you aren't catching a bad guy on foot in one of those.

Am I missing something? Thanks.

In the playtest forum, there is a topic asking if 2E has affected your player participation. Goto Discussion

I've noticed a downward trend. But honestly, I think it predates 2E. And I don't want to sidetrack that discussion.

As a relatively new Venture Agent, I want to reach new players in our area.

Obviously, our local events are public and can be seen on Paizo.com

We post all our events on Warhorn

I also post games to Meetup.com and have created a Pathfinder guild on RPGGeek.com

I even have started posting events on a new phone app called GameFor.

I have had moderate success with Meetup, but I was wondering what else the rest of you do to find new PFS players?

Scarab Sages 3/5 **** Venture-Lieutenant, Nebraska—Bellevue

I was torn on where to post this, but the question is on the PFS scenario, so here goes.

I am looking at options for specials we can run in our local area and generating 5 tables can be a challenge. But this scenario has an interesting section up front. It references a synergistic Adventure Card Game special, "Assault on Absalom". I cannot find that ACG scenario anywhere.

The way I read that section, ACG tables participate and count as tables towards the 5 table minimum. This would be exciting because the table minimum is much lower for ACG tables (1 player!).

So two part question:
(1) Am I correct in that table math? Do the ACG tables count towards the table minimum?
(2) Where do I find the ACG special? I can't find it on the site.

I just tried to create my first Playtest event and noticed that under Pathfinder Playtest only the three PFS playtest scenarios are listed. Doomsday Dawn chapters are not listed.

Is there a distinction between the PF playtest and the PFS playtest? Is the module, Doomsday Dawn, not cleared for the PFS playtest?

Or is this just an oversight?

Need some help figuring out the benefit of Traders in Seasons 3 and 4 in organized play. I haven't played through the normal Mummy's Mask set, so it doesn't quite connect to me. Here's a notional comparison.

Suppose I'm playing Reta in the normal Mummy's Mask set. I like weapons and we get a trader who can let me trade for a new weapon from a small selection. In this set, After a scenario I trade two boons for a new weapon. Then before the next scenario, I must make my deck legal, and place a new basic card in place of one of the two I dropped.

Now, if I'm playing Reta in a ACG guild game, I have to do this before a scenario. When I trade two for one, I put one card in my deck box and bury the other. I then get the card for one scenario and have to return it.

So in ACG do I have to play the scenario down one card? Or can I pick a basic card from my box so my deck is legal?

If the card could be an upgrade, could I keep the upgrade? If we were playing normal, the new card is mine.

From the season 4 write up .. "At the end of the scenario, return the spell to the game box and put the first boon back in your deck." If I follow the sequence, the first card was the one I had to put in my deck box. Is this just a one scenario 'rented' card?

It seems to me there are very few cards that would make me want to play down one card. Especially if there is no long term gain. Seems like traders wouldn't get used much. Thoughts?

Scarab Sages 3/5 **** Venture-Lieutenant, Nebraska—Bellevue

I've run and reported a few Starfinder Society scenarios now. SFS 1-05 adds just a bit more complexity and I want to make sure I'm reporting correctly. I'll try to avoid any major spoilers.

Pg 17 of scenario -
Primary success: If players do "x", they get 1 Fame and 1 Reputation for their currently slotted faction.

Secondary success: If players do "y", they get 1 Fame and 1 Reputation from their currently slotted faction.

Faction notes: If players do "a", they get 1 Reputation from Acquisitives. If players do "b", they get 1 Reputation from Second Seekers.

So the faction notes don't say players have to have Acquisitives or Second Seekers slotted to get the bonus reputation. Which means the potential is a Datafiles player could still end up with Datafiles (2 Fame/2 Reputation); Aquisitives (1 Reputation) and Second Seekers (1 Reputation). SLOTTED FACTION BOON DOES NOT SEEM TO APPLY TO BONUS REPUTATION.

Since everyone gets the bonus reputation, is there any reason other than roleplaying for someone to play a acquisitives PC over a datafiles PC when playing the scenario? (A PC with both faction boons might pick differently, but probably mainly because of the fame - which he can spend on boons)

Finally, The GM reporting sheet (pg 21) has two boxes for us to fill out. Fame and Faction Bonus. I believe that the Datafiles player above would have 2 in the Fame box and 2 in the Faction Bonus box.

However, when I go the reporting screen for the event, it asks me to to enter the reputation gained. In this case, that happens to be the sum of the two boxes. Is there a reason the tracking sheet asks for them to be broken out, but that reporting doesn't? Just seemed odd to me. Could there ever be a situation where the sum of the two boxes isn't the total reputation gained?

I apologize if I missed another message chain. If I did, a link would be appreciated.

I organize a monthly Starfinder event at a game shop in Nebraska. Reporting online worked fine for our first two events. However, I have been trying to report for our 10 November game and the event reporting appears to be broken now.

I started trying to report on 12 Nov and have tried every couple of days since. I tried the report problems email, but haven't had a response yet. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have separate recurring events for both PFS and PF ACG. Neither has the same reporting issue. Only my SFS event.

Any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated.

I have scanned the message boards and haven't seen this asked, but I easily could have missed it.

I manage a decent sized PFS group at a local game shop. We average anywhere from 5-14 players twice a month. We regularly get new players dropping in. One of the things I really like to be able to do is hand the new player the "Welcome to PFS" cert. It's a nice survival tool for a player who may be new to the Pathfinder system.

Will Starfinder Society have an equivalent cert for new players and their "dash 1" first character?

Back in the day, in the original 1st edition DMG, Gary Gygax gave us a reading list to help new players get inspired. Seems like games no longer do this, which is a shame. There are some good reading suggestions in there.

That list was a good list, but it's very fantasy oriented. It was for a fantasy RPG after all. But with Starfinder coming out soon, we need a sci-fi list.

So here's what I'd like to do -- I want to create an Appendix N Reading List for Starfinder. I'd like you to comment on this discussion with those sci-fi books that inspire you for roleplaying.

I"ve posted the same question the RPGGeek webpage on my blog. I'll try to get this list built and put it somewhere to share.

Here's a few to get you started.

Isaac Asimov (2001 A Space Oddysey)
Ray Bradbury (Martian Chronicles)
Larry Niven (Man-Kzin Wars, Ringworld)
HG Wells (The War of the Worlds)
Douglas Adams (Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
Jules Verne (From the Earth to the Moon and Round the Moon)
Edgar Rice Burroughs (Mars Series, Venus Series)
Jack Campbell (the Lost Fleet series)
Jack McDevitt (Alex Benedict series)

I'm wondering if such a beast exists. Here's my thought:

I'd like to have a way to link otherwise one-shot scenarios into a sort of storyline or theme. For example, to run three or four scenarios in a row where Drendle Drang sends the PCs on a misssion.

Or to run 3-4 scenarios that all happen in Varisia.

Or simply to identify scenarios from different seasons that link together somehow.

I've been running Pathfinder Society scenarios for about 8 months now and could probably use the help selecting scenarios that are linked somehow to get away from the feeling that each session is an unrelated adventure from the ones before it.

So does such a database of scenarios exist? Or am I going to have to create one for myself?

Thanks.

Maybe I posted this in the wrong location under website feedback.

But right now I cannot access the Pathfinder Society Scenarios at all. Either by typing in the address or by following the links. It's been down since at least Sunday.

Would like to see this addressed before I run out of scenarios for my Pathfinder Society group.

Thanks.

I've been trying to get to the Pathfinder Society Scenarios and have been getting bounced back to the Paizo.com main screen. Doesn't matter if I type the address in or try the links - everything bounces back to the main screen. Have tried Chrome, Edge and my cell phone (Android).

While I'm mentioning web errors. I've also noticed for a long time that sometimes after the main page comes up, it immediately goes blank. Reloading seems to work, but sometimes it takes a few reloads.

I've played Pathfinder Society games off and on for a while, but am trying to start (and GM) a new local group. I have a question I don't quite see a good explanation for. The question is when to apply the "out of sub-tier" gold.

In the new Guild guide (v 8.0), on page 11, it tells me when scenarios started using this.

On page 16 it tells me that this rule applies to GM credit.

But the guide doesn't really give me a plain English explanation.

Here are a couple of assumptions, let me know if these are cases to apply the "out of sub-tier" gold.

A) Table of 6 players with an average PC level of 2. Plays sub-tier 1-2. Is the third level PC at the table "out of sub-tier"? Would he be out of sub-tier playing up in a sub-tier 4-5 game?

B) A table of 6 players with an average PC level of 3 - usually forced up to play 4-5. Are the 1st to 3rd level PCs now playing out of sub-tier?

C) If I GM a game that goes sub-tier 1-2 and then want to apply GM credit to my third level PC, am I out of sub-tier?

I appreciate the help.
