Starfinder Society Question

Starfinder Society

Scarab Sages 3/5 **** Venture-Lieutenant, Nebraska—Bellevue

I have scanned the message boards and haven't seen this asked, but I easily could have missed it.

I manage a decent sized PFS group at a local game shop. We average anywhere from 5-14 players twice a month. We regularly get new players dropping in. One of the things I really like to be able to do is hand the new player the "Welcome to PFS" cert. It's a nice survival tool for a player who may be new to the Pathfinder system.

Will Starfinder Society have an equivalent cert for new players and their "dash 1" first character?

If it does, it's going to be for everybody :)

It's something I'm working on (right now in fact). Sorry for the delayed response on this, the "Welcome to Starfinder Society" boon is one of those odd items that kind of ended up at the end of my pre-Gen Con workload!

Do we also have any idea when the Starfinder Guild Guide and the pregens are going to go up for download....I would love to do my reading/printing/info dumping in batches, not try to download for printing when everyone is trying to download the Rulebook.

I second that query. I'm targeting August 20th for our SFS kickoff an would like to get those printed early.

The guild will have to be out before the con. I am expect it (and the update to PFS guide) on the 15th or 16th.

I'm a feeling a bit stressed about having scheduled to GM a game on August 19th. I do have the Core Rulebook already, but it's a lot to go through! I'm particularly nervous about trying to figure out vehicle and starship rules. But, I guess like any new game we just have to muddle through the first several sessions until more and more of it starts to sink in and seems intuitive...

The good news is that the scenarios don't use all the rule at once.

The Starfinder Society adventures have introduced a series of tags on just under the table of contents. These are defined in the upcoming Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide, and I'll summarize them here.

Exclusive: This adventure can only be run under special circumstancs, such as at certain events or by certain GMs.
Faction: This adventure has a special faction tie-in.
Quest: This adventure is a series of short quests.
Replayable: This adventure can be replayed for credit.
Starship: This adventure involves starship combat.

So when you get your scenario(s), you can take a look for the starship tag. If it has that, prep the starship combat rules. Otherwise? You can focus on other parts of the book.

Debut adventures with the starship tag:

The new quests
#1–00
#1–03

We've built in the exclusive tag into the campaign, but we have yet to place it in an adventure; #1–00 will be available for purchase and to GM by all.

Future specials might use the exclusive tag. For now, though, let's just enjoy these five very fine adventures debutting at Gen Con 2017.

Looks like I need to dig through my collection of minis. I'm running both scenarios at SkalCon.

Im sorry if I am asking in the wrong place but how do I go about registering to run Starfinder Society (officially) on Roll20? Thanks!

Verte, all you need is the Starfinder Core Rulebook, the guide to SFS play, and an Organized Play number. That said, we'll be happy to answer all your questions on the official SFS discord channel:

SFSchat.com

You can talk with a bunch of GMs there who run online, as well as Jesse Davis (Ironhelixx) the Venture Captain of Online Play. They'll get you oriented, and help you find players if you don't have some in mind already!
