When would you suggest ordering to receive in time for Christmas gifts? I know it depends on shipping options, but I don't know how quickly i should order for people.
The sooner the better.
As we get closer and closer to the holiday, the shipping time will undoubtedly start creeping towards the latter end of all estimates.
The estimates to which you will definitely want to pay attention are the "Usually ships from our warehouse" estimates that appear on the product descriptions themselves.
A majority of the items will say either "Usually ships from our warehouse in 3 to 6 business days" or "Usually ships from our warehouse in 5 to 11 business days". These times are very important to note because this is in addition to the estimated shipping time for the various shipping options.
For example:
If you get your Mom a copy of No Cure for the Paladin Blues today and chose to ship it via UPS Ground, it would probably ship from our warehouse in 3 to 6 business days then take 3 to 5 business days to reach you. This means that you would order it today and it could show up at any time from November 30 (six business days from today) to December 7 (eleven business days from today). While not a guarantee, it is most likely Mom would have the book under the tree for Christmas.
However, Mom may be a big fan of Mankind and all she wants for Christmas is WWE Know Your Role RPG (OGL), the WWE professional wrestling role-playing game (I make no judgments). If you ordered that for her today and (to save some money) you choose to ship it via USPS Package Service, then it would probably ship from our warehouse in 5 to 11 business days and would take 3 to 10 additional business days to reach you. That means that the book would most likely arrive sometime between December 4 (eight business days) and December 26th (21 business days). In this case you would definitely want to ship via UPS Ground, at least, because it is possible that Mom may be disappointed on Christmas morning (nobody likes opening a box to find a receipt). This would put the probable arrival time between December 4 and December 17. Your best bet in this case is to ship via UPS Second Day Air or even Next day. But these can get pretty pricey.
Furthermore, the "Usually ships by" estimate for any order will be that of the (non-preorder, non-backorder) item that has the longest date, as we will hold the order until all of these items are in and ready to go.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks,
