PaizoCon Online Special Events and Player Instructions

Wednesday, May 13, 2020

Greetings all!
The finalized schedule includes over 1150 Paizo Organized Play (POP) games, as well as author-run events, non-organized play games, panels on both Discord and Twitch, and a full slate of Twitch-streamed games. For the full schedule, check out the PaizoCon Online Warhorn page. Reminder, all times are listed in PDT.

In preparation for event registration, we suggest you visit the following sites and register accounts. You may use existing accounts on all the sites listed, so no need to create a new one just for PaizoCon Online.

  • Register for an account and an organized play number at Paizo.com (if playing POP games)
  • Join the PaizoCon Online Discord Server. Here is an invite code.
  • Follow the Paizo Twitch channel.

Player signups go live Saturday, May 16th, at 1 pm PDT on the PaizoCon Online Warhorn page. Once you are registered for a game, please download the associated VTT platforms and input your character(s). All VTT information is listed in the Notes section of the Warhorn page. There is no need to register for panels or streams, they are included on the schedule to help in planning.

The Discord page is open and there are channels to chat before the event and ask questions if needed. You may also email paizocononline@paizo.com if you need assistance.

So without further ado, here are the descriptions for the special events we are pleased to offer at PaizoCon Online 2020. We will release the Twitch panel schedule on Thursday afternoon.

Guaril has been charging refugees to sneak them out of Xin Edasseril, a city ruled by the Runelord of Envy, and now it looks like Guaril won't be able to fulfill his contracts. The family's patriarch, the warrior Hlavard Grenskuldr, appears to have perished in a shipwreck while wearing the family's heirloom, the gorget of the Linnorm King Grehunde the Sunchaser. For one hundred generations the family has passed this heirloom down from parent to child, until Hlavard sought to wear it on a journey to Valenhall as Grehunde herself had intended to do before perishing with the task unfinished. Unwilling to leave the relic to rust away in a watery grave, Hlavard's family has requested the Pathfinder Society's assistance in locating the shipwreck and retrieving the family treasure.

Woohoo!

Unless something wonky is going on, Kate Baker's Forbidden Tides is a 7-10 scenario.

Aww man, rather unfortunate I can’t catch any of Lysle’s 1-12 games, I’d burn glyphs to rerun if I could such a good one!

Apologies, that's correct!

One other error which I will own: Legend of the Burning Star is being run by Steve Helt of Legendary Games, not Jessica Peters of Find the Path Ventures. All other details are the same.

So happy that this is being done. Can't wait for the panels :D

Question: Will any of the panels be recorded? I'd love to attend a few but am GMing in that slot.

I wonder... Can a non-native English speaker participate in the games ?
The panels seem pretty interesting :)

PaizoCon is listed as May 26-31, but I find on Warhorn that games stop at 8am on May 30.

Am I doing it right?

Thanks!

Additionally, the GM decides what language the game will be run in. Be sure to check the Language entry when you look at a game session, they will not all be English.

It's a quirk of Warhorn not really being designed for an event of this size. If you click on Saturday as an individal day, you'll see there are games all day.

Here are the Sunday games

Shadow Lodge

The author-run games are flagged as only available to certain attendees? How do I become such an attendee? Specifically Joseph Blomquist's Saturday 6pm game, and Dennis Muldoon's Sunday 9am game.

Grand Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure, Rulebook Subscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber

"Certain attendees" refers to staff and GMs, the only ones that can currently sign up. The Warhorn system does not have an option that applied to just 'early GM signups' so the general option had to be used. Once player signups go live tomorrow that notification should disappear.

Edit: Quick correction. According to an update in the Discord channel, it's actually the only option they have to limit those tables from behind registered for. So to allow early GM signup without having those tables compromised, they have to use that option. No one is able to signup for author tables until open signup tomorrow.

Dark Archive

That said I don't think all author tables are even up

Like I tried to look for burden of envy and illegal shipment author tables on saturday mentioned on blog and they don't seem to exist

Edit: Ah. I figured it out. Time zones means those "saturday games" are on sunday 4 am to me...

Grand Lodge

Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber; Pathfinder Maps Subscriber; Starfinder Charter Superscriber

I ended up grabbing a few more slots of Quest 7, so you can also play with me Friday 9am and Sunday 9am!

And... Warhorn has crashed

And the site has crashed already. :(

You have to register for the con, then signup for individual tables. The site is under heavy load, so you'll want to check your dashboard when saving your table signup to confirm it went through.

Scarab Sages

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Maps, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path Subscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber

I feel like a number of the sessions are misconfigured. I'm seeing a disproportionate number of tables that are only open for players who have the GM role.

Scarab Sages

Never mind, I'm finding more. Our regular Warhorn board doesn't have the GM signup restricted and that message was throwing me off.

Welp during time I was sleeping author table got filled completely :( Kinda gave up on trying to sign up before sleeping since it was crashing constantly...

I got into something in most time slots I wanted. I'm really looking forward to this.

I still need something Tuesday at noon, but the only PFS2 scenario left is the second half of The Perennial Crown. There is no one signed up, probably because it's Part 2 in the first slot of the con; there seem to be more Part 2 slots than Part 1.

Dennis Muldoon's author-run table: PFS2 Quest 7: A Curious Claim (level 3-6), Saturday noon, still only has two players at the moment.
