We hope you’ve had a chance to look at the 2024 Programming Schedule, because game signups are officially open!

If you haven’t already purchased your tickets, check out this step by step breakdown for getting badges via Tabletop.Events this year.

Game Signups

And here’s a step-by-step breakdown for this year’s game signups!

1. Find the game you would like to sign up for on the Schedule of Events. This schedule can be filtered by many different criteria including name, event type, date, and time. Click on the event entry (either the name or the number to the left).
2. On the right side of the screen, click the large green button that says “Get Ticket for YOUR NAME.” This will add the event ticket to your cart, but you’re not done yet!


3. You can go and add more tickets to your cart if you like, as your tickets are saved for two hours. Once you’re all done, click “Checkout” in the cart to the right of the screen.


4. Click “Check out for Free.” You’re all set! You can view your schedule on the “My Schedule” page at any time.

Please note that there is a limit on our new content this year. To ensure everyone gets a chance to play the new scenarios, you may not sign up for more than one session of a new release. These new releases are:

• SFS1 Intro: Year of Era's End
• SFS1 7-02: Zo! vs. Zo
• PFS2 5-16: A Lie Told to Strangers
• PFS2 5-17: Stranded on Yesterday's Tide

Submitting Community Events

While the main schedule has been released, community gaming event submissions are still open! These can be RPG events featuring Pathfinder or Starfinder, as well as other systems or even other types of games entirely! Want to introduce people to your favorite indie RPG? Looking for players for the new board game you just bought? Finally want to settle who the best Mario Karter in the community is? You can host all these events and more!

1. From the PaizoCon convention page, go to “Host” in the top bar, then click “Submissions.”
2. Click “New Submission” and choose an event type. For this explainer we’ll be using an RPG event, but most events will ask for the same or similar information.
3. Fill in the requested information! Let the staff and prospective attendees know as much as you can about the event you’re submitting. Once you’ve filled in the information, click Create!
4. After submission, staff will review events and either approve them (adding them to the schedule), contact you for more information, or reject them. We reserve the right to reject events for any reason.

You can submit events at any time before May 24, 2024.

Portfolio Review Sign Ups

Portfolio reviews are now open to general attendees! Anyone is welcome to fill out the form, book a slot for portfolio review, and join us on the Paizo Events Discord server! Get thoughtful and detailed feedback on your illustrations from Paizo’s art directors and narrative team. Learn what we look for and how to get there. We are here to help! Sign up to have our team review your portfolio, and we’ll give you a constructive critique on your work.

The art and writing reviews are separate, so you are welcome to sign up for both, but please only sign up for one review per subject.

Review Guidelines

• Reviews will be done over Discord; please remember what time you signed up and join the Discord chat at your time as to not intrude on someone else’s review.
• Please only choose one slot per review subject; we have a limited number of times and want to give as many people a chance as possible.
• Please link to your portfolio so we have a chance to review your work beforehand.
• No AI generated work.

Appointment reminder emails will be sent out the week before PaizoCon, and again the day before a scheduled review. We can’t wait to see your work!

In the mid 1920s, the passengers of the SS Essex County must investigate an unlit lighthouse off the coast of Rockport, Massachusetts. Was the lighthouse's lantern extinguished by inclement weather, or is something more sinister afoot?

This session will use Foundry VTT and be run by Paizo's Software Architect, Brian Bauman. Players will be provided with pregenerated characters.

Pathfinder Battles and Beyond: 2025 releases from WizKids (Twitch)
Join Magellan Mulligan, RPG Project Production Manager/Producer at WizKids, for a look at some exciting new releases coming this year and next for Pathfinder Battles and more!

Jackbox: Get Pathlashed! (Discord Stages)
Join the community in an evening of Jackbox nonsense to kick off PaizoCon Online 2024! There will be adult language/themes in this event.

Round 2: Pathlash! It's Quiplash, but with a Pathfinder and Starfinder twist!

Are you ready for the return of PaizoCon Online 2024? Join us Memorial Day weekend, May 24th–27th, as we once again bring events to your screen with an amazing long weekend of panels, giveaways, and, of course, gaming!

If you’re new to Pathfinder or Starfinder, PaizoCon is an annual weekend-long event where we celebrate our team, our community, gaming, and all things Paizo!

Like last year, parts of the show you know and love will remain free, but we’re continuing to have a ticketed event with community-run games and activities at the same time!

What to look forward to this year!

Some of you may have attended conventions hosted on Tabletop Events before, but many of us have not! If you haven’t, here’s how to get your badge for the show.

1. Visit the convention page at https://tabletop.events/conventions/paizocon-online-2024 (also linked at paizocon.com).
2. Click “Get/View Your Badge” under Attend in the top menu bar OR click “Buy Badges” on the right side of the screen.




3. There should be one badge type listed: the Attendee badge. Click the green “Buy” button.
4. Enter your first and last name, as well as your Discord username. Your Discord username will never be shared publicly, and is just so we can assign you special roles on the Paizo Events Discord server.
• On this screen, you can also purchase a badge for a friend! Information on adding and purchasing badges for friends can be found on this page.




5. Click “Add to Cart” when you’ve finished entering your information. Once you have all your badges in the cart, click Checkout.
6. Follow the instructions to enter your credit card information, and you’ll be all set! Welcome to PaizoCon Online 2024!

Portfolio Reviews

After the success of last year’s Friday portfolio reviews, the Art team has added an extra day onto their review schedule! Portfolio reviews will remain free on a first-come, first-served sign up basis, but this year we’re giving ticket purchasers the chance to sign up early.

If you’re interested in having your writing samples reviewed, we’re also offering writing reviews on Friday and Saturday this year as well!

Hail and well met, Pathfinders and Starfinders! We’re excited to bring you some news about next year’s PaizoCon Online.

PaizoCon Online 2024 will take place May 24–27th.

Our theme for this year’s PaizoCon Online is “Educate, Entertain, Inspire!”—and we’ll be theming our content to match. Learn the basics of Pathfinder and Starfinder, enjoy broadcasted actual plays, and find out what the future holds here at Paizo!

This year we will be expanding the selection of panels and events being held in our Paizo Events Discord server. On top of public panels on our Twitch channel and the free, no ticket required hangout spaces and staff AMAs, we will be hosting ticketholder-exclusive games, panels, and social events via the Discord! Purchasing a ticket to PaizoCon Online allows you to participate in these events, as well as Organized Play and Community Play games throughout the weekend.

Introducing “PaizoCon @”

We tested the waters of a concurrent in-person event last year, partnering with KublaCon in California. This year, we’re excited to announce “PaizoCon @”, a program that brings PaizoCon Online gaming to a selection of in-person events!

We will once again be partnering with KublaCon in 2024—not only offering in-person Organized Play gaming, but also a physical space within the con to watch our livestreamed PaizoCon Online panels!

We are also very excited to be partnering with a selection of local game stores throughout the United States and beyond! Be on the lookout for an upcoming list of participating friendly local game stores!

As PaizoCon Online gets closer, we’ll have more news about the panels, events, and more! We’re looking forward to seeing you at our annual celebration of all things Paizo!

From the Pathfinder Remaster Project to Starfinder Enhanced, the team at Paizo has a plethora of new content coming down the pipeline. This year’s PaizoCon Online featured speakers across Paizo’s creative team who teased at new products and projects.

Pathfinder Remaster

Lead Designer Logan Bonner revealed the final, painted covers for the Player Core and GM Core books during the presentation. These fully painted covers by Wayne Reynolds feature Pathfinder iconic heroes doing battle against and standing alongside new diabolic and mirage dragons, both of which will debut in Monster Core. These full-color covers will be available online and at retailers, while the Hobby Retailer Exclusive Sketch Covers, previously revealed on the Paizo Blog, will only be available through your FLGS.

Hardcover Rulebooks

Pathfinder has a variety of new rulebooks—some freshly released and some on their way. James Case, Senior Designer on Pathfinder, showcased some of the upcoming content.

Rage of Elements, Pathfinder’s latest rulebook, will be available in early August at Gen Con 2023, as well as online and at local retailers. This book adds wood and metal elemental planes to Golarion, taking players on a tour of the planes and introducing their elemental lords. Also included in Rage of Elements is a much-anticipated new class: the kineticist, an elemental adept martial class. Rage of Elements is the first Remaster compatible rulebook, giving a preview of the rule changes to come.

Coming in 2024 is the recently announced Howl of the Wild, a creature-filled book featuring an iruxi naturalist and his eccentric crew as they navigate the wilds on their airship, the Zoetrope. This book introduces six new wild-side ancestries, new creatures, regional variants of existing creatures, spells, archetypes, and more.

Lost Omens

Luis Loza, Creative Director of Pathfinder, gave a preview of Lost Omens Highhelm, an upcoming book that’s part gazetteer and part exploration of dwarven culture. This new Lost Omens entry releases in June and includes new skills, feats, ancestries, backgrounds, and mechanics to immerse yourself in dwarven culture and the city of Highhelm. Players can also expect to learn more about the dwarven pantheon, particularly eight gods not yet expanded on in Golarion.

Pathfinder Adventures

Syncing wonderfully with the release of Lost Omens Highhelm, Pathfinder’s next Adventure Path, Sky King’s Tomb, takes player characters on a quest for a major piece of dwarven history. The Adventure Path starts in August, and the three volumes will take players from levels 1–10.

Following that, our Adventure Paths take us to Tian Xia for Season of Ghosts. This ghostly, horror-flavored four-part Adventure Path for levels 1–12 takes place over a full calendar year in game—with each installment covering the length of one season in a cursed town in haunted Shenmen.

Standalone adventures return with Pathfinder Adventure: Rusthenge, a softcover book that places low-level characters in the world of runelords and their conflicts. Rusthenge will release late this year, bringing the western reaches to your table.

Partner Projects

Many of Paizo’s licensed partners are currently running crowdfunding drives or releasing new projects, such as the Dynamite Comics Kickstarter, BKOM Studios Abomination Vaults ARPG Kickstarter, Demiplane’s Pathfinder NEXUS, and more.

Breaking news! Steve Jackson Games announced that Pathfinder: Revolution, the Pathfinder expansion for hit board game Revolution, will release late this year. Pathfinder: Revolution puts players in the rebellion of Korvosa, facing off against tyrannical Queen Ileosa to save the city from her bloody path to immortality.

Starfinder

Looming big and bright on Starfinder’s horizon is Starfinder Enhanced, a book full of player options, items, spells, and rules for scaling up equipment. This book rolls out enhanced versions of four classes—the envoy, solarian, technomancer, and witchwarper—and presents new rules and changes that reflect feedback from the experiences of developers and community members alike.

Starfinder and mech fans alike can look forward to Mechageddon!, a high-level hardcover Adventure Path coming in 2024! Newly announced at PaizoCon 2023, this adventure starts on Daimalko—the planet of kaiju—and takes players through levels 3–18, letting their mechs level up with them through tier 17.

Organized Play

Pathfinder Society and Starfinder Society have plenty in store for this summer’s convention season! Debuted at PaizoCon Online 2023, Pathfinder Society Scenario #4-13: Within the Prairies and Pathfinder Society Scenario #4-14: Shattering Golden Chains continued this season’s path towards conflict with the night hag, Aslynn. Starfinder Society introduced its new season with Starfinder Society Scenario #6-01: Year of Fortune’sFall and Starfinder Society Scenario #6-02: Drift Scars. Starfinder Society players also participated in the group interactive special #5-99, Battle for Bulwark!

Look forward to election day in Starfinder Society! The First Seeker has stepped down, and four new candidates have been chosen from player-submitted characters to run for their place. In Starfinder Society Scenario #6-06, going live at GenCon 2023, Society players will get to meet the candidates and vote on who will step up as the next First Seeker.

Pathfinder Adventure Path #200

Pathfinder Adventure Path #200 is coming next year, and it’s a special double-sized standalone adventure available in hardcover and softcover. Seven Dooms for Sandpoint brings Pathfinder Adventure Path #1 author James Jacobs back to that adventure’s setting, the town of Sandpoint, for a level 4–12 adventure that adapts Pathfinder’s designer playtest campaign for the first time.

PaizoCon South Pacific is happening again at the historic Quarantine Station in Sydney, Australia this June/July!

This year, we’re doing things a little differently and have embraced a spooky theme to celebrate the shortest days of the year here in the Southern Hemisphere. A boatload of Pathfinder and Starfinder Society content will be on offer over the weekend, alongside ghost tours and other activities that will let you catch up with other players from around the region. Activities will include:

Joshua will introduce Fantasy Grounds Unity and how it can work with Paizo's Flip-Tiles, Flip-Mats, and map packs to enable online or local virtual tabletop play for Pathfinder and Starfinder. He'll cover using dynamic line of sight, snapping tiles into place, manipulating tiles, adding or modifying lights, adding FX, and using image brushes for advanced effects. Using this in-game allows for preplacement of encounters, linking story entries, hiding and revealing enemies automatically, opening and closing doors and windows, and approval of player movement.

Are you ready for the return of PaizoCon Online 2023? Join us Memorial Day weekend, May 26th–29th, as we once again bring events to your screen with an amazing long weekend of panels, giveaways, and, of course, gaming!

If you’re new to Pathfinder or Starfinder, PaizoCon is an annual weekend-long event where we celebrate our team, our community, gaming, and all things Paizo!

The entirety of this year’s convention is online. This year things will be slightly different: parts of the show you know and love will remain free, but we’ll also be having a ticketed event with community-run games and activities at the same time!

How it works: After purchasing your ticket, please navigate to your E-tickets page to add your Discord (name#numbers) and Warhorn email, so we can add the “Ticket Purchaser” role in our Paizo Events Server and Warhorn, which will give you access to sign up for games on Warhorn.

Game sign-ups: Both Organized Play and Open Play games will be available on April 17 through Warhorn. Stay tuned!

PaizoCon livestreams: We’ll be providing the full schedule of online Twitch and Discord panels soon, including Erik Mona’s annual opening keynote.

Hello again, PaizoCon lovers! As registration for the convention draws near, we're excited to announce that this year we're bringing community games and other events back to PaizoCon! Prior to 2020, a huge part of our programming consisted of a wide variety of games and other events led by Paizo staff or your fellow con attendees. The reinstatement of our community events schedule is a return to form for Paizo, and we hope you'll join us for all the excitement and fun!

PaizoCon's community events make it possible for Paizo staff, freelance authors, third-party publishers, and talented GMs of any background to host an assortment of unique experiences for appreciative players from all over the world.

PaizoCon Attendee Information

Here are just a few delightful things players might experience:

• Many different RPG systems, including (but by no means limited to) Paizo's own Pathfinder and Starfinder.
• A vast assortment of published adventures and homebrewed content.
• All manner of genres, degrees of seriousness, and maturity levels.
• Shorter or longer games or games that start at times that are more convenient to you.
• Playtests or premieres of upcoming third-party adventures by the next big author or company, or by some of your familiar favorites!
• Trying to survive Cosmo's terrifying gauntlet of Killer Clowns!¹

We're thrilled to offer such experiences once again!

Event Host Information

But of course, these wonderful events require people to envision, plan, and run them. That's where you come in. Now is your chance to run the game you've been planning for years, and to give your players an experience they'll be talking about until next PaizoCon!

This year's event application process is designed to make it easy for you to describe what you want to host, so that we can help attendees find exactly what they're looking for. PaizoCon attendees who wish to run one or more events for PaizoCon 2023 should review the following information, then fill out the application linked below.

Rules

• PaizoCon attendees may apply to run one or more events.
• Applications will be accepted for about 3 weeks and will be processed on an ongoing basis.
• Events need not be tabletop RPGs—if you want to run your own panels, workshops, mini-painting corners, board games, party games, or something completely different, let us know and we’ll see what we can do for you!
• Filling out the application does not guarantee that your event will be accepted. Paizo staff will review all applications and approve them based on variety, application quality, and scheduling needs.
• Accepted events will be scheduled a timeslot and will be listed on net alongside other scheduled PaizoCon events. A voice and text channel on the PaizoCon Discord server will be made available during the scheduled timeslot. Any other necessary arrangements—virtual tabletops, alternate voice chat applications, etc.—must be made by the applicant and included in the application.
• By default, the content for all events is expected to adhere to the Pathfinder Baseline. Deviations from the Baseline are to be disclosed in the application, and such deviations will be published in the schedule so attendees are aware of what to expect. All events must adhere to the PaizoCon Code of Conduct—no exceptions.
• Applicants who are approved to run events for 12 hours or more will receive a free attendance badge for PaizoCon 2023, and our gratitude. Applicants who do not qualify for a free badge will still need to purchase one.

Greetings, players! Somehow, it’s once again time to start recruiting volunteers for our major conventions! At this time, we’re opening applications for PaizoCon Online 2023. Information on Gen Con Indy, Gen Con Online, as well as other PaizoCon events, will happen at a future date. Please read all the information in the convention’s section before filling out the application form, and let the team know if you have any questions!

PaizoCon Online 2023

PaizoCon Online 2023 will take place online from May 26-30, 2023. We are not planning a physical component to the show at this time. New content at this show will include the launch of Starfinder Society Year 6, the new Starfinder Society interactive special, and new Pathfinder Society scenarios.

We’re currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:

• Game Master: Run tables of Organized Play Scenarios, Bounties and Quests
• Headquarters (HQ): Answer player and GM questions, seat players, handle conflicts and disputes, and report games after completion

Please read this important information before applying:

• Volunteer applications will be reviewed and accepted or rejected by the PaizoCon Organizing Committee. Filling this form out does not guarantee acceptance; you will receive an email with further information from the PaizoCon committee.
• Unlike previous PaizoCon Onlines, we will be assigning GMs to games based on their indicated preferences in the application form. There will not be a later signup date for GMs to select their games.
• Reward information is listed in the table below. GMs who do not qualify for a badge will still need to purchase one.
• Applications will be processed on a rolling basis, beginning no later than March 1. The earlier you get your application in, the more likely it is you’ll get the scenarios you want. Please be patient as we put the final details on the convention internally before we send out GM emails!
• Adventure authors interested in running tables of scenarios they have written should fill out this form and then follow up by emailing paizoorgplayhq@gmail.com. Anybody interested in running games outside of the Organized Play offerings (such as Infinite content, homebrew content, or games from other publishers) should email paizocon@paizo.com for more information about scheduling your offerings.

We’re excited to once again bring events to your screen with an amazing long weekend of Starfinder and Pathfinder online gaming, the launch of Year 6 of Starfinder Society, product previews, new product announcements, content creator AMAs, seminars, giveaways, an extra day of play on May 29th, and more. Last year, after several years of online-only PaizoCons, we produced a hybrid convention with both in-person and online events. We learned a lot, and we’ve decided the time isn’t right to produce a physical show. Why? We’ve learned the best way to make the PaizoCon experience accessible and affordable for the most people is to keep it virtual. And yes, COVID and its variants continue, which makes in-person commitments unpredictable for us all. So, we’re planning now to help PaizoCon 2023 level-up!

Please tell us the pros and cons of the PaizoCons of the past—indeed, of all the online cons you’ve attended. Organized Play regularly plans games both online and at local retailers. Would you like to see Pop-up PaizoCon events at stores alongside PaizoCon Online? Dear PaizoCon attendees,

Thank you for attending PaizoCon 2022! We hope you had as wonderful a time playing games and participating in events as we did putting on the show. It was a much-needed return to PaizoCons of yore, and we can’t wait to continue offering in-person convention experiences in the years to come.

This year’s in-person PaizoCon wasn’t without its challenges, however, including several reports of COVID-19 infections among attendees. Paizo considers the health and well-being of all community members a priority, and we want to take this opportunity to inform you that individuals you may have had close contact with at PaizoCon 2022 have tested positive for, and/or shown symptoms consistent with, COVID-19. Close contact is defined as having shared a game table, panel space, or similar, to the best of our knowledge.

The following are all reported cases we’re aware of at the time of this post. For more up-to-date contact tracing information, please see the #contact-tracing channel of the PaizoCon Discord server located at https://paizo.events.

Report 1: An attendee started experiencing cold-like symptoms Monday, May 30, while traveling and tested positive later that evening. Their last negative test prior to the convention was before their flight to Seattle on Thursday, May 26.

Report 2: A Paizo staff member reported a positive test on Monday, May 30, after taking the test the previous evening. They had tested negative the previous Friday morning and had arrived at the show on Saturday. They were masked while wandering the show (they had no assigned tasks that day) and ate dinner at a nearby restaurant alone. On Sunday morning, they felt ill so went home without visiting the show. They tested positive later that evening.

Report 3: Two attendees who traveled to the show together and were in each other’s company the entire convention reported positive tests on Tuesday afternoon, May 31. They were masked most of the time, but not while outdoors or at meals. They were at the hotel bar hangout mostly maskless on Saturday night. Both began experiencing symptoms Monday afternoon/evening.

Report 4: An attendee reported testing positive on Tuesday, May 31. They flew into the convention the previous Thursday, ate at the hotel bar Thursday night and Friday afternoon, attended panels in the streaming room Friday through Sunday, and attended the Find the Path and Hideous Laughter podcast meetups. They flew back Monday morning and were wearing a mask consistently when not eating or drinking.

Report 5: An attendee reported a positive test on Thursday, June 2. They were in the Organized Play room all weekend and were masked consistently all weekend except when they ate alone at the hotel bar on Friday, and around the lobby cafe at other times.

Report 6: A Paizo staff member reported a positive test on Friday, June 3, after a few days of feeling bad. They spent most of their time in the Organized Play ballroom. They ate lunch in the hotel restaurant on Friday and Sunday but otherwise engaged in no other maskless activities at the convention.

Report 7: A Paizo staff member started experiencing symptoms Friday, June 3 and reported a positive test later that morning. The staff member spent most of their time at or near registration, did not participate in any panels or gaming events, and shared meals mostly with other Paizo staff members.

Report 8: An attendee working the Syrinscape booth in the lobby reported a positive test on Friday, June 3.

Paizo has reported these cases to the convention venue and King County Public Health, and will continue to work in concert with them as we monitor the situation.

We encourage all PaizoCon attendees to test for COVID-19 as soon as possible. Washington state residents can get free kits by mail at this site, all US residents can get tests at this site, and further guidance is available at the CDC’s website.

Safety Precautions: Covid-19 remains an ongoing consideration, and Paizo is committed to the safety of the Paizo staff and attendees. We intend to take the following precautions to better protect attendees.

• In-person attendees must show proof of vaccination (including booster shots, if eligible) and wear masks in all Paizo-controlled spaces such as ballrooms, seminar rooms, gaming spaces, and the PaizoCon store.
• Our annual banquet has been cancelled.
• Hand sanitizer will be available in public spaces.
• We have reduced the number of in-person tickets and have capped physical attendance to the show at 500 attendees.
• We have allocated more open space in common areas to allow for better separation between attendees in the seminar rooms, OP hall (between players and between tables), and in the PaizoCon store.

Guest of Honor

We are very pleased to announce longtime Paizo freelancer Vanessa Hoskins as our Guest of Honor for this PaizoCon. She will be appearing on several livestreams and events. Keep an eye on our schedule for more information. If you haven’t gotten a chance to meet Vanessa, here’s a bit about her:

Vanessa Hoskins got her start in the RPG industry in 2013 by writing monster blogs and other 3rd party work for 2 years. Her first Paizo release was 2015's "From Under Ice," a Pathfinder Society scenario. Since then, she’s written several small-form adventures for Pathfinder and Starfinder Society, including the groundbreaking evergreen adventure "From the Tome of Righteous Repose." She's authored numerous adventure paths including Starfinder's The Cradle Infestation (#29), Pathfinder's Hand of the Devil (#164), and Outlaws of Alkenstar (#178). Vanessa has contributed to numerous rules systems, player options, and other game mechanics for Paizo across the Pathfinder and Starfinder systems. In addition to serving on the board of directors at the Know Direction Network, she is a host of the Know Direction podcast and stars in their Adventurous! actual play. She is a cast member for the Fall of Plaguestone and Three Ring Adventure actual plays on Roll for Combat. Vanessa co-authors Vellum & Lace, the first piece of serialized Pathfinder fiction on Pathfinder Infinite, with Helen Savore. Finally, she's recently started Ninja Cat Games, an indie video game studio. She does all of this while living in upstate New York with her brilliant wife and their adorable cat.

When we decided to do a physical PaizoCon, we knew it needed to be a smaller show than in prior years. We set the number of attendees at 500, not including staff, organized play GMs, and partner guests. We hoped this would balance safety concerns with our ability to deliver a great show. Unfortunately, with our reduced cap for the physical show, we have no tickets available at this time. We continue to reach out to ticketholders and process refunds and will update if we do get inventory to sell, but at this time it looks unlikely.

The good news is that there are plenty of tickets for PaizoCon Online and they are available now! You can purchase them by clicking here and add them to your cart.

Schedule

We’re currently putting the final touches on our streaming schedule and will be posting it to the PaizoCon Warhorn event listing as well as putting an image up on the PaizoCon website once available. With the streaming schedule finalized, we will shift our focus onto polishing up the physical show schedule so it can be uploaded as well. It is our goal to have all these schedules put in-place well before event registration occurs.

• Adventure authors interested in running tables of scenarios they have written should fill out this form and then follow up by emailing paizoorgplayhq@gmail.com. Anybody interested in running games outside of the Organized Play offerings (such as Infinite content, homebrew content, or games from other publishers) should email paizocon@paizo.com for more information about scheduling your offerings.
• In-person attendees and guests will be required to show proof of vaccination (including booster shots) and wear masks. The hotel may have less stringent requirements in common areas. Therefore, we will enforce our requirements in Paizo-controlled spaces such as the ballrooms, seminar rooms, gaming rooms, and the Paizo store. Failure to comply may result in your expulsion and a potential ban from future major conventions.

For purchasers of PaizoCon 2020 tickets who rolled them over to our next physical show, we will be updating your tickets to ones for PaizoCon 2022. Anyone who wishes for a refund can do so by contacting customer.service@paizo.com. Please use the subject line “PaizoCon 2020 Refund” to expedite your request. The deadline for refund requests will be March 11, 2022, after which we will open up PaizoCon 2022 tickets for general purchase and put PaizoCon Online tickets on sale.

One change from prior in-person PaizoCons is that we are using Warhorn for all our event scheduling. We will have an initial schedule posted by March 21st and will update it as we add more events. If you are an author, third-party publisher, or Pathfinder Infinite content producer interested in running events, please stay tuned to the Paizo blog for more information about how to add your events to our online or physical schedule!

Covid-19 remains an ongoing consideration, and Paizo is committed to the safety of the Paizo staff and attendees. The precautions we are taking include:

• In-person attendees are required to show proof of vaccination (including booster shots) and wear masks in all Paizo-controlled spaces such as ballrooms, seminar rooms, gaming spaces, and the Paizo store.
• No banquet event
• Hand sanitizer available in public spaces
• Reduced number of physical show tickets with a capped attendance of 500.
• More space between attendees in the seminar rooms, OP hall (between players and between tables), and in the Paizo store
• Paizo will pivot to an online-only event should conditions take a turn for the worse.

Digital Adventure Stream 2 Perception with GM Squiiddish (2–6 pm)

On the Art of Paizo panel at PaizoCon (12 Noon Pacific on Sunday, May 30), artist Kent Hamilton will design a new creature created by you! But before he puts digital ink to paper, he needs to know what kind of monster he’s creating. To help him with that, we’ve created a quick survey that will let you give him some creative direction.

Last March, when we shifted physical gaming to digital spaces, the Online Region Venture-Officers wrote two guest blogs focused on their experiences using digital mediums such as Virtual Table Tops (VTTs) and Play-by-Post to keep our gaming communities connected. Their advice is as relevant today as it was last spring, so we’ve linked them here for reference.

Reading over those blogs will give a good overview of playing digital games, but there are a few other considerations to be aware of when signing up for games at PaizoCon.

• Game listings in Warhorn include the platform the game will run on. Be sure to check this information when choosing games, as we have a variety of platforms being used. They include:
• Roll20
• Fantasy Grounds
• Foundry
• Play-by-Post
• Google Slides
• Discord
• Download and install any platform files and create logins before the event. This will help discover and resolve any tech issues, so you don’t miss your game.
• Double check the character sheet your GM is using if your VTT supports multiple sheets.
• Build VTT copies of characters ahead of time so they’re ready for play. Ensure paper character sheets are up to date for PbP, Google Slides, and Discord games.
• Connect to the Paizo Events Discord Server and accept the server rules in the #community_guidelines channel to make sure you’re ready to go. Bonus, you can join in some pre-convention chatter with other attendees, get personalized help with VTTs, and scope out channels to keep an eye on during the event.

At PaizoCon, there are a few other best practices that will help improve your event experience:

• Fill out your GM’s sign-in sheet, and be sure to log into your gamespace 10 minutes before your game starts to check in.
• On Discord, we’ve used adventure titles as game channel names. We recommend logging in 10 minutes before and confirming the GM is the one listed for your game. If you can’t find your game, visit the #help channel and an HQ volunteer will assist.
• If you couldn’t pre-register for a game, visit the #looking-for-group channels for the RPG you want to play. HQ volunteers will start seating walkups 20 minutes before each session.
• Provide a contact method to your GM so they can follow up if there are issues with chronicles or reporting.
• After your game is over, advise your GM if you will need them to export a copy of your character sheet to use for your next event.

The Pathfinder Adventure Card Society is capping off its time in the sun with PACS 7-99: Ripples of Turmoil. This interactive special by Ron Lundeen premieres at PaizoCon Online and will allow players to see the adventures of the past several years from a brand-new angle. It promises to be something you’ve never seen before in the Adventure Card Society!

Pathfinder Society (second edition) players will get to experience the new releases for May for the first time. In PFS 2-19: Enter the Pallid Peak, agents will explore a newly-uncovered dwarven complex near a volcano. PFS 2-20: Breaking the Storm: Bastion in Embers begins to close the Year of Corruption’s Reach storyline, as the Society gathers its allies to defeat an ancient evil that’s struck close to home. Finally, Pathfinder Bounty 10: Hillcross Roundup will ask the PCs to locate a missing dinosaur and return them safely home.

Pathfinder Society (first edition) players have plenty of scenarios on offer as well, featuring repeatable favorites, stories that tie into the current arcs for Second Edition play, and multi-part arcs that you can fully experience in just one weekend!

Paizo is pleased to announce that Pathfinder One-Shot: Dinner at Lionlodge, a new liveplay adventure, will air at PaizoCon 2021 on Saturday, May 29 at 6 p.m. Pacific at twitch.tv/officialpaizo. It will feature the talents Glass Cannon Network!

Invited to a hunting lodge to attend a grand dinner, the PCs are in for a treat. Initially called forth to go on an exciting hunt the following day, an uncomfortable meal causes some trepidation. The eccentric hunter who inhabits the lodge has other plans for his guests. Can the group figure out what’s going on before their dinner is ruined?

This short Pathfinder Second Edition adventure written by James Jacobs is intended to be completed in a single session and includes four 4th-level pregenerated characters, who make use of the new ancestries in Pathfinder Advanced Player’s Guide and Pathfinder Lost Omens Ancestry Guide, whose backstories and motivations tie closely into the plot of the adventure. This adventure can be easily incorporated into various virtual tabletops, run off of digital devices, or printed out and played at a table

About the Cast

Troy Lavallee

Troy Lavallee is the co-founder and CEO of The Glass Cannon Network. His adventures in role-playing began in the mid-90s with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition. After a 20 year hiatus from tabletop gaming, his love for the hobby was furiously rekindled when introduced to Pathfinder in 2011. After receiving an MFA in Acting from Columbia University in 2003, Troy spent the better part of two decades pounding the pavement as an actor, writer, producer and stand-up comedian in New York City. The Glass Cannon Network was born out of a love not only for gaming but for using the collaborative nature of RPGs to create epic serialized stories that have the potential to rival anything on Network television. Troy is the primary Gamemaster for the Network but also plays several characters on their Patreon exclusive shows considered both highly entertaining and GM nightmares that would never be allowed in home games. Noura Ibrahim

Noura is an actor and live streamer. She has played Jahan in the mobile app game Ingress by Niantic Labs (makers of Pokemon Go!) and has made worldwide in-character appearances at Anomaly events. As a live steamer, you can find her playing Nahara on the new official Dungeons and Dragons show Black Dice Society. Noura is best known for her role as Ib on the Vampire The Masquerade chronicle LA By Night, as well as Ezmerelda D’Avenir on Realmsmith’s Curse of Strahd campaign Into The Mist. She appears as Jasmine on the all Princess D&D show Damsels, Dice and Everything Nice on Pixel Circus, and as Nox Arya on Cyberpunk Red GM’ed by Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith. She can also occasionally be found streaming Call of Cthulhu, World of Darkness, and other ttrpg systems on QueueTimes, The Glass Cannon Network, and Stream of Blood. Noura earned her black belt in Kuk Sool Won while living in South Korea where she also studied horseback riding and became a member of The Korean Archers Association …because who doesn’t want to be a real life action hero?

Alica Marie

"TTRPG Addict" Alicia Marie is a costume artist and designer, author (The Booty Bible), accessibility awareness advocate and fitness pro who turned her love of super-physiques, comic books, video game and fantasy art into a creative career. Most known for her classic costume nods to Mortal Kombat, Star Trek and Marvel superheros, Alicia, who calls herself a “compulsive maker,” creates character looks for media companies like Warner Brothers, Netflix, Amazon Prime and for game developers like Netherrealm (Mortal Kombat) and Gearbox (Borderlands). She has also designed character looks for celebrity clients such as platinum recording artist Megan Thee Stallion and WWE superstar Ronda Rousey. Alicia is the physical inspiration for some of the fighting characters you see in popular video games. In May, she was introduced as a playable character in Sony Interactive/Illfonic’s new game PREDATOR: Hunting Grounds. Alicia, who likes to refer to herself as “walking technology” or a “cyborg” following cochlear implant surgery to restore her ability to hear speech and sound, is also a voice for accessibility for the deaf and hard-of hearing. Skid Maher

Skid has been nerding it up since 1982, when his uncle Sinclair gifted him the Basic D&D set (the Tom Moldvay edition) for his ninth birthday. It was all downhill from there, as he subsequently dabbled in such classic games as Champions, Gamma World, Judge Dredd RPG, Ghostbusters RPG, Robotech RPG, Top Secret, Tunnels and Trolls, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RPG (before it was a stupid cartoon), Middle Earth Role-Playing, Beyond the Supernatural, Twilight 2000, Price of Freedom, Mechwarrior, and Traveller. Nowadays he spends most of his time developing gaming and media projects with the Mozzlestead production company, and obsessively watching Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings. He also had a letter read on Late Night with David Letterman, and was briefly a very minor celebrity on Japanese TV. Oh, and once he saw a blimp.

Joe O’Brien is the Co-Founder and COO of the Glass Cannon Network. He began playing Pathfinder in 2011 and has a special place in his nerd heart for the systems and the adventures published by Paizo. On the Glass Cannon Network, Joe has been the GM for Pathfinder Society Scenarios, and a Pathfinder Second Edition conversion of The Emerald Spire Superdungeon. Currently, you can hear him as a player on The Glass Cannon Podcast, Raiders of the Lost Continent, and Legacy of the Ancients, all playing Pathfinder First Edition Adventure Paths. You can also catch him on Twitch or YouTube as a cast member on Androids & Aliens (an official Starfinder Actual Play), Glass Cannon Live!, New Game, Who Dis? (Cyberpunk Red, Alien RPG (Game Mother), Call of Cthulhu), and Blood & Blades: The Tin Whistles (a shared-universe tabletop experience playing Blades in the Dark produced by Stream of Blood). He is the Handler on Get in the Trunk, a Delta Green Actual Play Podcast Series produced by the Glass Cannon Network. He is excited to work directly with several members of the Paizo team on this project who, over the years, have consistently reinforced the respect and admiration he has for the love that goes into their work. He hopes to one day play in a Pathfinder game where, in a pivotal moment, with his companions relying on him, he can roll anything above a 5. He won’t hold his breath, though. For Highbury!

Greetings, all! With spring in the air and convention season on the horizon, we wanted to take a moment and provide some updates on our upcoming events.

PaizoCon Online 2021 (May 28-31)

Player signups are currently open for PaizoCon Online 2021! There are plenty of seats available for badge holders, and we’re excited for the event in just a few weeks. The stream schedule is also available at paizocon.com and on the Warhorn.

We want to highlight a few special events that might have flown under the radar so far. Check these out; some of these are only available at PaizoCon Online!

• The PACS Open, 7-95 The Last Night at Everstand, which will allow teams to compete against each other in tournament-style play of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game
• The brand-new PACS Interactive special, 7-99 Ripples of Turmoil, which will pay homage to the history of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Society
• GM Leum Dray’s marathon delve into The Emerald Spire, which is currently full but who knows, maybe one of the players will chicken out

PaizoCon Europe Online (August 19-22)

Our PaizoCon Europe organizers are hard at work putting together the schedule for the event! As a reminder, this convention will see the premiere of Pathfinder Society Year 3, so you’ll definitely want to check it out. Schedule, registration information, and a call for GMs will be available shortly, so keep an eye here for breaking news!

Gen Con / Gen Con Online (September 17-19)

While we wait for details from Gen Con on the full plan for this event, the organizing committee are busy making plans behind the scenes and the organized play developers are full steam ahead on shenanigans. Gen Con and Gen Con Online will see the premiere of our new interactive specials for the year, PFS2 3-99 and SFS 3-99, a set of interconnected specials where the actions taken in one affect the outcome of the other. More details on these specials will be released soon!

The Gen Con Organizing Committee has also put together a GM Interest form, found below. Please note that this form is NOT a GM signup form; filling it out does not guarantee you a spot to GM, nor does it commit you to anything yet. That form will come later, this is just to gauge GM interest in both the physical and online event. Take a few minutes to fill it out if you’re interested in running games in any form!

We are pleased to announce some upcoming plans for the PaizoCon convention series! Keep reading for some exciting developments!

First, PaizoCon Online 2021 registration is currently open and game sign ups for players opens April 1st. On Monday, we’re updating our PaizoCon website with this year’s information, including the Paizo Twitch streaming schedule. This year also sees the return of the PaizoCon Puzzle Hunt for the 5th consecutive year. Join us May 28th-31st for four days of gaming, chatting, and exploring everything Paizo!

Second, while we are working toward population vaccination, there is not enough certainty around the timeline to proceed with an in-person PaizoCon UK this year. We’d like to thank Dave Harrison, PaizoCon UK coordinator, and his event team for thinking of the safety of the community this convention season.

Fortunately, Dave is teaming up with Benoit Grȏs and the team that brought you PaizoCon Francia to offer PaizoCon Europe Online! Slated for August 19th-22nd, the game schedule will be centered around European time zones, but will also feature an overnight block of games aimed at America-based gamers. Need another reason to attend PaizoCon Europe Online? We are launching the new season and metaplot of the Pathfinder Society! We’ll have more information soon, including how to register as a player or GM.

Wrapping up our 2021 PaizoCon offerings is PaizoCon South-Pacific, coordinated by Daniel Flood and his team. The date and location are still TBD, though we expect it to be a weekend in November and somewhere in the Sydney/Brisbane/Canberra region. We will pass information on to the community as soon as decisions are made so keep an eye on our blog for updates.

As we continue winding down our Pathfinder Adventure Card Game program, we’ve decided to end it with a bang! At this year’s PaizoCon Online, we will be hosting a final Pathfinder Adventure Card Society Celebration Bonanza. The event is scheduled for 1pm PDT on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Come join us for some card flipping, location exploring action!

The bonanza will be the last published Society adventure for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. From May, the Pathfinder Adventure Card Society will join the Pathfinder Society (first edition) as a legacy program still available for convention support, but for which we will no longer produce new content. All scenarios will remain available for play and we will publish one last Guide to Organized Play: Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Game in early May which will include blog items such as adventure packs as well as a few rules revisions. Players may still report games on paizo.com and tables of Pathfinder Adventure Card Society will still count towards table limits for convention support.

In addition, the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Core Set and Curse of the Crimson Throne expansion remain available for purchase, as will most of the previous expansions, add-on decks, promo cards, and accessories.

Additionally, PaizoCon Online 2021 will feature the launch of Starfinder Society Year 4 and a multi-table celebration event for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Society!

Badges for PaizoCon Online 2021 cost $25 for the weekend and are available through our Warhorn PaizoCon page! Badges go on sale 22 Feb 2021 and player game selection opens 1 April 2021.

We’ve partnered with the Organized Play Foundation for GM recruitment. GMs who run four or more games during PaizoCon receive a complimentary badge. For a full list of GM benefits as well as how to register to GM, visit the Organized Play Foundation website. GM registration opens 16 Feb 2021.

We are working on the schedules and a PaizoCon Online 2021 homepage and will update our community with more details as they become available. Meanwhile, attendees can create a paizo.com account, get an organized play number, join the Paizo Events discord server which will act as the PaizoCon convention hub, and volunteer to GM through the Organized Play Foundation. On 22 Feb, attendees can purchase their weekend badge via Warhorn.

Ticket holders for PaizoCon 2020 who rolled their tickets over to PaizoCon 2021 will have their tickets continue to roll over automatically. Attendees may request a refund by emailing customerservice@paizo.com.

As we approach the end of the first year of Pathfinder second edition, we are excited to showcase some of our upcoming Pathfinder rulebooks, adventure paths, and world guides, while also announcing where the game is headed in 2021.

The panel that just concluded offers a lot of great previews of the Pathfinder Advanced Player’s Guide, coming out at the end of July. If you missed it live, you can check it out as a video-on-demand on twitch.tv/officialpaizo and archived on our YouTube channel in the near future. We’ll also be presenting the usual series of preview blogs and media partner appearances in the coming months, but if you just can’t wait, here’s a glimpse at a few pieces of art from the book:

Completely compatible with the Pathfinder Core Rulebook, this all-in-one box pares down the options available to players to make their first steps into the exciting world of Pathfinder as straightforward as possible. With 4 pregenerated characters, a series of character and monster pawns, a 1st-level intro adventure, and more, this is the perfect starting point for new players of any age.

The Beginner Box’s adventure takes place in the sleepy town of Otari just a few days’ travel from Absalom, but your troubles in Otari are just beginning! Picking up at 2nd level—right where the Beginner Box’s adventure leaves off—and taking your player characters to 5th level, Pathfinder Adventure: Troubles in Otari is an anthology adventure designed to introduce new players to a variety of playstyles and ease their transition into the world of character options presented in the full Pathfinder game.

For groups looking for a longer campaign, we are proud to announce the first 3-part Pathfinder Adventure Path, The Abomination Vaults! This dungeon-based campaign, also set in Otari, takes a group of 1st-level adventurers to 10th level, and tells a parallel story to that in the Beginner Box and Troubles in Otari. The first chapter of Abomation Vaults, Ruins of Gauntlight by James Jacobs, will be available in January, 2021.

I can hear you now: “But, Paizo, you can’t do just one 3-part adventure path without throwing off your entire release schedule!” You’re right! That’s why we’re following Abomination Vaults up with a second 3-chapter adventure path: Fists of the Ruby Phoenix! This campaign starts at 10th level, allowing your Abomination Vault PCs to pick it up after that campaign concludes, or it can stand alone as its own story. We first saw the Ruby Phoenix Tournament—a worldwide test of martial arts and magic held every 10 years—in 2011, so it’s fitting that we’d check back in and see what’s happening with it on the next go-around. Look for more information on this adventure path later in the year.

A few months ago, we released the Pathfinder Gamemastery Guide, and just this week the Pathfinder Bestiary 2 hit shelves and online retailers worldwide. Now, we’re thrilled to announce the Pathfinder Bestiary 3 for a March, 2021 release to fill in the gaps of any iconic Pathfinder monsters that didn’t make the cut for the first two bestiaries. Let us know what you’d like to see included after checking out the newly released Bestiary 2.

Lastly, we take a look at the future of the Lost Omens line of world guides, detailing the tumultuous Age of Lost Omens in which the Pathfinder world finds itself now. Following the release of Pathfinder Lost Omens: Pathfinder Society Guide in September, we’ll next delve deep into the uncommon and rare ancestries of the setting with the Pathfinder Lost Omens Ancestry Guide. This indispensable sourcebook for players and GMs presents new character options for the many ancestries that have appeared in rulebooks other than the Pathfinder Core Rulebook, provides everything a player needs to play a member of such fan-favorite returning ancestries as android, geniekin, and kitsune, as well as a few ancestries that have never been available to player characters in the past!

Starfinder Society: Year of Exploration’s Edge

Starfinder Society’s Year of Exploration’s Edge kicks off in just three weeks at Origins Online (June 19–21)! The new season takes place in the first period of real stability that the Starfinder Society has enjoyed since the campaign began. Of course, that doesn’t mean things will be easy for Starfinders. Emphasizing shorter bouts of exploration instead of a single, overarching metaplot, the upcoming season offers exciting new ventures into unexplored locales in the Pact Worlds, Near Space, and even far into the Vast, taking us farther afield and exploring more of the setting than we’ve ever seen before!

Looking to explore the uncharted regions of the Vast with a fancy starship (maybe with some accompanying content from the Starfinder Starship Operations Manual)? How about seeing those places recently detailed in Starfinder Near Space up close with some new characters? Or perhaps you’d fancy a mind-altering visit to the one Pact World we’ve not yet seen in a Starfinder adventure? (Hint: it’s Aucturn—the planet that might be a Great Old One.)

Year of Exploration’s Edge is the perfect opportunity to start enjoying Starfinder Society, or even to pick up as bonus content for your already ongoing Starfinder campaigns when you need that fun “planet of the week” diversion. While we’re not as focused on a major overarching metaplot, there are three unique multi-part stories that PCs of all level ranges can still enjoy and should scratch that ongoing story arc itch.

All this content (and more!) is just around the corner, with the Year of Exploration’s Edge releasing two new scenarios every month starting in June. Finally, dedicated Starfinder Society fans across the world can look forward to the upcoming multi-table interactive, Starfinder Society #3-00: The Last Bite, arriving in the coming months. This big-ticket event is set to bring a climactic conclusion to last season’s Year of a Thousand Bites storyline and provide an unforgettable experience to gaming events across the world! Pathfinder Society: Year of Corruption’s Reach

We’ll be wrapping up the current season, Year of the Open Road, with an awesome special in the form of Pathfinder Society Special #2-00: The King in Thorns, by authors Kate Baker and Dennis Muldoon. An ancient fey monster, a long-sealed demiplane, and a hero from the past will all take the stage as the Pathfinders fight their way through a horde of deadly plants and First World assailants in the first interactive special of Pathfinder Second Edition!

Pathfinder Society’s first Second Edition season, the Year of the Open Road, focused on rebuilding and rediscovering the Pathfinder Society in the wake of the world-shattering events that heralded the end of the first edition storyline. Now, with the Society rebuilt and refocused on their principles of exploration and discovery, the Pathfinders are set to embark on a new mission: creating a new Pathfinder lodge in Iobaria and delving into the ancient secrets that have lain dormant on the Inner Sea’s northeastern border for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years.

Iobaria is home to ancient cyclopean ruins, deadly dragons, and mysterious monstrous denizens seldom recorded in the annals of the Inner Sea. As a centuries-old ritual unfolds, a looming presence stalks the abandoned cities and forlorn forests of the haunted northland, threating to ignite the wilderness into a conflagration of devastation and otherworldly evil. Agents of the Pathfinder Society are going to need to come prepared, as even the mightiest adventurers will find themselves pushed to the brink of certain doom on the desolate frontier.

This season we’ll also be rolling out some innovations to scenario format, taking the feedback we’ve received over the last year and assembling it into an improved template we think is the best yet for our program. We’ll also be swapping out our traditional Pathfinder Society Quest short scenario format for a new approach we’re calling Pathfinder Bounties. These 1-hour adventures answer the question “What does a Pathfinder do when the Society doesn’t have a job for them?” Unlike our quests and scenarios, bounties don’t assume that the players are members of the Pathfinder Society, and the adventures presented therein might be anything from a dragon hunt on the Crown of the World to saving a Druman farmer’s prized alpaca herds from predacious chupacabras. Bounties are designed to provide exciting entry points for any adventurer looking to start their career, and they’ll all be repeatable, making them a perfect option for game store owners and volunteer coordinators looking to introduce their community to Pathfinder Second Edition.

Pathfinder Adventure Card Society: Year of Reborn Strife

PaizoCon Online sees the launch of the first ever interactive developed specifically for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, adventure #6-99: Tyrant of the Harrow. An ill-fated fortune telling pulls the heroes into the Harrowed Realm, a mystical realm populated by a host of storybook characters. They must find a way back home before being sacrificed to fuel the plans of an evil mastermind!

Pathfinder Adventure Card Society’s new season, Year of Reborn Strife, starts in just a few months! The first half of the new season runs from August to December, with a new storybook releasing every month. The season’s early action takes the PCs to a swarming ancient metropolis filled with mysteries and intrigue. Kaer Maga, City of Strangers, is a haven for outcasts, misfits, rebels, and wayfarers from across the dangerous land of Varisia. Anyone is welcome on its shrouded streets, so long as they don’t ask too many questions or interfere with the freedom of their neighbors.

But a new threat rises to upset this delicate balance. Among the city’s more unusual denizens are zombie servants, kept in check by control amulets that prevent them from rampaging through the streets. A group of Pathfinder agents is on the scene when these amulets begin to fail, creating an undead menace. It falls to these Pathfinders to root out the source of the disruption. Along the way, they’ll meet several representatives of Kaer Maga’s iconic and eclectic factions, delve dangerous caverns, and uncover ancient secrets at nearly every turn!

Each day during PaizoCon Online, we’re taking a look at upcoming products, revealing new art and details, and diving deep into the day’s focus with a livestreamed Marquee Event panel and Q&A session. Today’s Marquee Event panel focused on the upcoming Starfinder Starship Operations Manual and other future Starfinder releases. This blog is a recap of some of the reveals covered in that session. Though convention season looks very different in 2020 than in years past, we’re still ecstatic to have the opportunity to spend PaizoCon Online with all of our fans, geeking out together (from a safe distance) over what lies in store for our favorite game of space fantasy.

Starship Operations Manual

This summer’s big Starfinder release is the Starship Operations Manual, a 160-page sourcebook for all things starship related, from custom upgrades and expansion modules, to advice on running starship-based campaigns, new starship monsters to challenge parties of all levels, to details on the galaxy’s most prominent manufacturers!

Alien Archive 4

Following in Starship Operation Manual’s engine wake comes the Starfinder Alien Archive 4. As with previous alien archives, this book presents scores of new friends, foes, and potential player character races with tons of lore and new rules options tied to each.

Devastation Ark Adventure Path

We don’t just publish rules supplements, though! Starfinder is all about galaxy-spanning adventure, which we provide in the pages of the monthly Starfinder Adventure Path. In August, we’ll launch the first sequel AP in the line with the 3-chapter high-level Devastation Arc Adventure Path. This campaign begins at 13th level, making it the perfect sequel to nearly all of our previous APs, and characters should reach 20th level by the story’s conclusion!

Fly Free or Die Adventure Path

In November, we’ll mix things up and return to our normal 6-chapter campaign format with the Fly Free or Die Adventure Path. In this exciting story, the player characters aren’t necessarily heroes—at least not intentionally. A crew of scoundrels, rogues, and misfits, they find it hard to survive in a galaxy where everyone has a price. Targeted by a crime boss and his army of enforcers, preyed upon by faceless mega-corporations, and hounded by rivals, the crew of the Free Trader Oliphaunt line up the big score that will at last make them rich beyond their wildest dreams. But when their many enemies join forces and the crew loses it all, they find out there are two things in the galaxy that can't be bought: freedom... and revenge.

Galaxy Exploration Manual

Fans wondering what our next hardcover rules supplement will be need look no further, because we’re happy to announce the Starfinder Galaxy Exploration Manual for release in April of next year. This book will provide players and GMs alike with rules for hailing from or exploring the myriad worlds found in the Starfinder galaxy, covering a variety of biomes and planetary concepts, allowing for nearly endless possibility every time a starship drops out of the Drift into uncharted space. It’s still nearly a year out, so we don’t have a lot to show you now, but we’ll have a lot more on this book as its release approaches.

Last year, we ran a crowdfunding campaign for a second edition version of one of our most popular Pathfinder Adventure Paths: Kingmaker. For several months, the task of gathering the text, generating new text, and tackling the initial conversions from first to second edition Pathfinder (and fifth edition!) were in the hands of our partners over at Legendary Games, but now the entire project is in our hands and we’re finalizing the updates, developing and editing the text, and building up what’s going to be one of the largest projects we’ve ever attempted at Paizo. The adventure path compilation itself is the size of the second edition Core Rulebook`, and it’s only one of the books and support products we’ll be creating in the months to come!

Currently, we’re finalizing the map turnovers we’ll be sending to the cartographer for the campaign’s various Flip-Mat Multi-Packs, fine-tuning the updated and expanded kingdom building and mass combat rules, and ordering new art for characters, creatures, and scenes both new and old. Because the book and accessories are still very much in process, we don’t have a lot to show you now, but we’ll keep the community updated as we reach more and more production milestones over the next few months.

Stay tuned for more news as it develops, but in the meantime, feast your eyes on the brand-new cover for the Kingmaker Adventure Path, created by the one and only Wayne Reynolds and featuring four of the campaign’s most memorable antagonists!

PS—Fans of the Pathfinder: Kingmaker CRPG adaptation from our friends at Owlcat Games should make sure to follow the game’s publisher, Deep Silver, on social media for some exciting upcoming announcements about the future of the game, especially around IGN’s Summer of Gaming show in early June. OPM Musings

May turned out to be a very topsy-turvy month and the blogs reflect that craziness. Turns out we’ve been working from home for ten or so weeks and somewhere at the end of April, I decided to skip a week. That led to a really cool blog from James Case, but also meant we missed our regular update. I’m catching us up now and plan to be back on a regular schedule in June.

Onto the news…

We made lots of announcements the past month regarding the upcoming PaizoCon Online. For more information on events, check out the blogs we posted on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Though we still have a few weeks to go before PaizoCon and are putting final touches on that event, we are also looking beyond to Origins Online. If you are interested in GMing at Origins Online, email organizedplay@paizo.com for more information.

We also have seen movement on the Achievement Point program and many players and GMs note their totals are closer to expected totals. We are actively working on resolving the issues and we hope to have more to announce soon.

Our friends at Know Direction advised they received 84 entries in the Battle of the Pantheon contest. They are reviewing the entries and will pass on their top choices to our team for us to pick our top selections. From there, we will preview all of them in a blog on June 4th, 2020 and open voting shortly after.

Sanctioning

The team’s worked hard this month on getting caught up and we hope to finalize sanctioning on the Age of Ashes Adventure Path before the end of May. Stay tuned for more information.

Campaign Coins

With the lack of travel due to Covid-19, we awarded no coins during the past month.

Stars

We don’t have any new 5 stars this month. For those waiting on displays of 5 stars behind your name, we hope to have them appear soon as part of the Achievement Point resolution.

Novas & Glyphs

The online nova evaluation tool is still undergoing work, but you can submit any evaluations via an online form. Venture-Captains, please use this form to submit evaluations.

As part of the Achievement Point fixes, we are also resolving the issues with GM rankings and table counts displaying properly. You should see Starfinder Society table counts show something other than 0 and a space to count Glyphs appearing soon.

All good things must come to an end, and so must we close the curtains on PaizoCon Online 2020. Join Paizo and Know Direction staffers as we look back at the event and give thanks to all of the amazing contributors, volunteers, partners, and you for making PaizoCon Online an event to remember.

Live Play: QueueTimes - Shadow of Norgober (PF2E; 4:30-7:30)

A string of gruesome murders, five mysterious notes, and one long forgotten friend inspires five retired adventurers to band together one last time. As they look for the one responsible behind the killings, they’re each forced to confront their past actions, before their days of fame and glory, in order to save the kingdom.

In preparation for event registration, we suggest you visit the following sites and register accounts. You may use existing accounts on all the sites listed, so no need to create a new one just for PaizoCon Online.

• Follow the Paizo Twitch channel.

Player signups go live Saturday, May 16th, at 1 pm PDT on the PaizoCon Online Warhorn page. Once you are registered for a game, please download the associated VTT platforms and input your character(s). All VTT information is listed in the Notes section of the Warhorn page. There is no need to register for panels or streams, they are included on the schedule to help in planning.

The Discord page is open and there are channels to chat before the event and ask questions if needed. You may also email paizocononline@paizo.com if you need assistance.

Author-Run Organized Play Tables

PFS2 1-12: The Burden of Envy (level 1-4)

Swindler, rogue, and occasional Pathfinder ally Guaril Karela has approached the Society with an opportunity that Valais Durant, the leader of the Society's Radiant Oath faction, can't refuse. Guaril has been charging refugees to sneak them out of Xin Edasseril, a city ruled by the Runelord of Envy, and now it looks like Guaril won't be able to fulfill his contracts. Society agents are charged with sneaking into the dangerous city and sneaking out with a handful of its citizens before their absence is noticed so that the Radiant Oath can help them find new lives beyond their current ruler's tyrannical reach.

PFS2 Quest 3: Grehunde’s Gorget (level 1-4)

Venture-Captain Bjersig Torrsen calls the PCs north to the town of Iceferry in the frigid Land of the Linnorm Kings. There, Bjersig informs the Pathfinders that he has a request from the family of a storied and long-dead Linnorm King. The family's patriarch, the warrior Hlavard Grenskuldr, appears to have perished in a shipwreck while wearing the family's heirloom, the gorget of the Linnorm King Grehunde the Sunchaser. For one hundred generations the family has passed this heirloom down from parent to child, until Hlavard sought to wear it on a journey to Valenhall as Grehunde herself had intended to do before perishing with the task unfinished. Unwilling to leave the relic to rust away in a watery grave, Hlavard's family has requested the Pathfinder Society's assistance in locating the shipwreck and retrieving the family treasure.

PFS2 Quest 7: A Curious Claim (level 3-6)

Money is power in the land of Druma and those who know how best to manipulate the economics of the land have the most of both. The PCs are sent to Druma to investigate a missing ship and the particulars of an insurance claim related to its disappearance, though both ravenous undead and agents of one of the Pathfinder Society's fiercest rival organizations seek to keep them from the truth behind the ship's sad end.

PFS2 Quest 9: Wayfinder Origins (level 3-6)

The Pathfinder Society has sent an expedition to a previously uncharted island! The island contains a door sealed with a type of magical technology thought lost with the ancient Azlanti empire. What secrets lie behind the door, and what dangers may lurk beneath the island's surface? To find out, the PCs will first have to solve the magical "puzzle" sealing the door and preventing contact with whatever lies beyond.

SFS 1-16: Dreaming of the Future

The Starfinder Society pursues the dream visions of a Liavaran dreamer, seeking information lost in a time before the Gap. Three broken fragments form the key to a forgotten repository of knowledge hidden within the Pact Worlds. The PCs travel to Arniselle to follow-up on this group's activities and link it back to the mysterious ysoki known as Datch. The truth behind these morlamaws is beyond comprehension, and threatens all life on Arniselle and beyond!

Her ship, The Wandering Waterbear, is a submersible that travels between settlements on the River Between; it's also the smelly and nigh-indestructible shrunken corpse of a Giant Tardegrade. Captain Cora likes to pilot her ship down the river and ram wyrms. The party's job is simple; get on Cora's crew, find the scientist and save Vaando dome. This adventure appears in Wayfinder 20.

Which scenarios will be run during a given slot will be coordinated through the convention's Discord server. Paizo is excited to announce that PaizoCon 2020 will be online! The annual game convention of all-things-Paizo, originally scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend in Seattle, will fall-back, regroup, and expand to six days of gaming at a safe social distance online May 26-31.

The event will include seminars and live-plays on Twitch, games scheduled via Warhorn and run on a variety of VTT platforms such as Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, Astral, and D20Pro, an official PaizoCon Online Discord server as a general hangout for con-goers, plus blogs on paizo.com, and more!

A PaizoCon Online 2020 homepage with schedules, game registration, and more details is scheduled to go live on May 1. Players can create a paizo.com account and get an organized play number in preparation today. GMs can sign up at Warhorn. For more information, email paizocononline@paizo.com.

Adventures Ahead!

Janira rushs into Ambrus’ office, excitedly waving a parchment in the air. Her hurried entrance caused enough of a disturbance to rustle the papers lying on his desk. He glances up from the paper in hand, a look of irritation briefly passing over his features.

Laying the parchment onto the stack before him, Ambrus took a deep breath. “What is it this time, Janira?” he asks, trying to keep the exasperation from his voice.

“Great news from Pathfinders to the east! They’re holding a version of our Convocation in their area. With a pool! And beer! And people! Now I just need to convince the Decemvirate that I should attend.” She bounces on the balls of her feet, her uncontainable enthusiasm preventing her from standing still.

“I’m sure they will say yes. Just complete the necessary request paperwork.” He reaches into his right desk drawer and draws out a roll of parchment, looks up at the lively halfling, then sighs and dips his quill into the inkpot on his desk. “How about I help, since you don’t look like settling down to write anytime soon. What are the particulars?”

Together, they completed the paperwork. “Thanks for helping!” Janira leans over and gives Ambrus a quick hug, then hurries to the door. “You’ll file that today, yes? I don’t want to wait too long for an answer!” Before he can reply, she opens the door, finding a large group of Pathfinders waiting outside. The group parts, allowing her to move into the corridor. Ambrus’ chuckles briefly and motions the Pathfinders to enter. A faint “goodbye” drifts back into the room, caught on the breeze, as Janira runns to her next encounter.

We are pleased to announce the launch of PaizoCon Francia under the direction of Regional Venture-Coordinator Benoît Gros. In his words, “After 6 consecutive years, GardenCon evolves into PaizoCon Francia. Come enjoy the only open-air PaizoCon in the beautiful Geneva countryside. Not convinced yet? How about a laidback schedule, local craft beer, and tables played in English or French to fulfill your mid-August gamers needs! Still not convinced? Did we mention there's also a pool?”

PaizoCon Francia will be held at the Route de la Craz, Thônex, Geneva, from August 13th to 16th, 2020. More details will appear as the organizing team passes them to us, including registration information.

Before you go…We have a procedural announcement that we will include in our next monthly update, but that we wanted to announce to our society GMs and organizers before the first week of May.

Feedback from our communities regarding tables for Pathfinder Society (second edition) indicates that 7-player tables aren’t working. So, we are phasing them out. Starting as soon as possible, we ask GMs to move to 6-player tables. We are giving a transition period so that we don’t cause issues for conventions and events already planned. As of June 1st, seven players will not be legal tables. In cases of 7 players, the tables should be split into two. This will make a more balanced experience and works better within the scaling mechanisms of the program.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Paizo has made the decision to cancel PaizoCon 2020. We look forward to this celebration with our gaming community every year, and while it’s hard to cancel an event like this, we feel this is the best course of action given the global situation.

The Seattle Airport Doubletree by Hilton will cancel all PaizoCon 2020 room reservations en masse. If you have follow up questions regarding your hotel reservation, please contact the hotel.

We’re looking into some options for things we might be able to do digitally over Memorial Day weekend that would still allow us to connect with our fans. With the rapid changes occurring both locally and globally, we have not yet come to any conclusions on the feasibility of providing digital content. Once we make a determination, we will let you know.

There’s also likely to be some questions about what this means for 2021. We’re doing our best to adapt to these challenging times, and we’ll update folks when we have more details for next year’s PaizoCon, May 28th-31st, 2021. For fans who plan to attend next year’s convention and choose to push their 2020 4-day Badge forward to 2021, we’ll have an enhanced swag bag at the show to express our appreciation. We know that many in our community are facing uncertainties with their future plans and may not yet know if they will be able to attend next year’s PaizoCon. There’s no pressure to make a decision about what to do with your Badge: all 2020 PaizoCon Badges and preview Banquet Tickets that have been issued will automatically work for PaizoCon 2021. If you determine that you need to return a Badge or a Banquet Ticket, just follow the instructions below for requesting a refund.

I just wanted to update you with new information about how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting Paizo and what it means for you. As you know, the situation is changing rapidly and the team here at Paizo is having to take in new government rules, regulations, and health department guidance on almost a daily basis.

On Monday, March 23rd, Washington State Governor Jay Inslee issued a stay-at-home order for non-essential businesses. Most of Paizo has been working from home for a while now, but our warehouse team had been continuing to ship orders to distributors and paizo.com customers. Paizo will now be closing our warehouse for two weeks starting on the evening of Wednesday, March 25 and put those workers on a paid furlough during that time. The team is working hard to finish March subscription shipments before this shutdown. After two weeks, we plan to resume warehouse shipments unless the situation dictates that we do otherwise. Our customer service team will continue to work from home answering your questions. They have a thread on our forums to keep customers updated with their progress on customer requests: Paizo Customer Service Status Updates & What to Do.

We can still fulfill PDF sales, and we will be launching a PDF sale later this week. Buying PDFs is a great way to help Paizo get through these troubling times as well as getting great gaming products at great prices! Watch for an email announcing the sale in your inbox later this week.

I must also announce that we have made the decision to cancel PaizoCon 2020. Though we and our partners at the DoubleTree Hotel believe this is the best course of action for the safety of our staff and attendees, this is particularly sad for us because we at Paizo really enjoy having the chance to hang out with all of you and play games for a weekend. There will be a number of options for dealing with your badge and banquet ticket purchases, including rolling it forward to next year with a nice gift waiting for you at PaizoCon 2021 to thank you for sticking with us through these times. If you have purchased a badge, look for an email explaining your options soon. Our customer service team would greatly appreciate if you could wait to contact them about PaizoCon badge options until after we have sent out the email to badge holders.

The staff has been hard at work from home. The Pathfinder Advanced Player’s Guide and the Starfinder Starship Operations Manual have both been sent to the printer to be delivered in time for Gen Con, and other products are going to the printer each week. There is a light at the end of this tunnel, and we want to make sure that there are new roleplaying game products there for you to enjoy when we get through it.

Apologies in advance for adding yet another COVID-19 email into your inbox, but it’s important that I let you know how the coronavirus pandemic is affecting Paizo and what we are doing about it.

As you know, social distancing is the most important way that we, as a society, have to fight this new viral threat. Three weeks ago, I started the process of shifting almost all Paizo employees from working in our Redmond offices to working from home; they will continue to do so until we believe it is safe to congregate in our office again. For now, our small-but-valiant warehouse team remains in place, shipping orders to both customers and distributors. Even in the warehouse, we practice social distancing, staggering work schedules and limiting the number of people in each area of the warehouse; if we are given cause to believe that their safety is compromised, we will cease warehouse operations until the crisis passes.

As for the products and packages our warehouse team is handling (including products made in China and other countries), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that “In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures... Currently there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with imported goods and there have not been any cases of COVID-19 in the United States associated with imported goods.” (See https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html for more information.)

Working from home does require Paizo to sacrifice some of our normal procedures. Our customer service team can’t answer the phones from home, so until we are able to move back to the office, customer service is available only by email (customer.service@paizo.com) and via the Customer Service forum on paizo.com. We have also unfortunately had to cancel all of our visits to gaming conventions and trade shows for the foreseeable future.

Which brings us to PaizoCon. The safety of our attendees and staff is of paramount importance, and we are working closely with our host hotel and monitoring local, state, and federal government guidelines on a daily basis. The Washington State government is currently prohibiting gatherings of 50 or more people, though the timeframe does not yet approach the announced dates for PaizoCon (May 22–25). If the gathering ban or other concerns suggest that we should cancel or postpone PaizoCon, we will inform the community as soon as we can.

While Paizo is currently able to carry on with relatively few issues, many game stores are unfortunately at risk of going out of business if the pandemic goes on for an extended period of time. If your local store is still open, please help them out by buying from them when you can.

Please also keep in mind that social distancing doesn’t have to mean the end of social gaming. Our partners at Fantasy Grounds, Roll20, and D20PRO provide great tools for playing roleplaying games online. Paizo also hosts some great play-by-post campaigns, so you can practice social distancing and still have a great time gaming with your friends.

We are at the start of one of the more difficult moments in the history of the world. We are going to have to help our neighbors, our local businesses, and each other get through this. It won’t be easy, but Paizo will be here fighting to keep great RPG products coming into your homes.

A quick update on our tech backlog. I’ve been poking around the system (you may have seen some of my efforts) and have pieces in place as soon as we can get the user-interface complete and through quality assurance. This includes updates to 0 table Starfinder GMs and erroneous AcP numbers. Will update again when we have a firmer rollout date.

Hi nufriends! I’m Alex Speidel, the new Organized Play Associate (read: Tonya’s minion). Our Venture Officers are already well-acquainted with me, as I’ve been sending them everything they’ve asked for over the past few weeks.

I’ve been playing Starfinder since its release in 2017; I’m here for the “roleplaying” part of the roleplaying game, and I think it’s a great universe to explore. When I’m not in the Pact Worlds, I’m watching reality TV at home, reading sci-fi and fantasy, or getting ice cream with my future husband. Moving to Seattle is a great chance for us to get out and explore the beauty out here, and I’m excited to come out to conventions and meet you all! Sanctioning

Developer James Case led the charge on getting the next bit of sanctioning through the door for Pathfinder Society (second edition). We updated the original Character Options blog with information from the Pathfinder Gamemastery Guide and a few other clarification bits.

We still have Pathfinder (first edition) sanctioning in the hopper but had a few setbacks that mean a bit longer delay, as we ensure scenarios move through the production line and look to our convention season deadlines. Thank you for your patience.

Stars, Novas & Glyphs

One GM reached their 5th star in December. We still have a few weeks in 2019 for those trying to earn their 5th star before the year’s end. Doing so indicates a commitment to organized play, as to achieve this milestone, GMs must run 150 games, of which at least 50 must be unique scenarios and 10 special scenarios, as well as run a game for a venture-captain. A conservative estimate of time needed to reach 5-stars is 650 hours!

We had no GMs reach their 5th Nova this month.

Glyphs exist in our system and they just need a bit of webcoding to get them to show up!

OPM Musings

Our last blog looked at 2019 and some of the team’s best memories of our year. Between then and now, I took a few weeks off over the holidays to visit family and recharge my batteries. I arrived back in the office on Monday, ready to tackle our outstanding tasks and get things completed.

While out of the office, I remained in contact with our tech team as we worked to resolve the outstanding issues with the Achievement Point program. The good news is we have a pile of fixes ready for quality assurance testing and we hope to have them rolled out over the next few weeks. Some of the pending items include downloadable paper copies of Playtest Point/Achievement Point boons, Achievement Point scaling for Premium/Premium Plus events, and correct values for Pathfinder Society (second edition) Quests. I’m optimistic we have the light at the end of the tunnel on this issue.

Better news than the Achievement Points is our movement on sanctioning. The organized play developers finished their pass on several of the books and now we are working on getting them formatted for publication. This is another task I hope to have completed by the end of the month.

Hard to believe, but there is one more piece of news even better than Achievement Points and sanctioning updates. I’m pleased to announce the organized play team is growing by one – we are adding an operational administrative assistant working directly with me to support our programs. The job posting should go up shortly and I encourage our community members to appy!

Novas & Glyphs

In taking care of backlog items, we got the nova icon updated on the website and are working to get the glyph icon added. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as easy as me just putting the image somewhere and needed some behind the scenes tech assistance. We anticipate having the Glyphs up and running in the next few weeks. For those running Pathfinder Society (second edition) games, thank you and we will get your recognition out asap!

I’d like to list the first 5-nova GMs in the February Spotlight blog! While we wait for the online nova evaluation tool, which is part of a greater tools overhaul, we’ve made an online form for logging evaluation games. Venture-Captains, please use this form to submit evaluations.

As the year draws to a close, I’m at one final convention – PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia. If you're attending, be sure to stop by the Paizo Booth (#2646) or the Organzied Play Room (#120-B) and say hi!

After this, a few weeks of rest...well, at least a few weeks of no travel. We’ve got plenty of plans to implement and tasks to complete during December. To give our team some time to relax over the holidays, and to ensure our players have games to play, we are releasing our December scenarios on the 18th of the month. The blog previews are scheduled for December 11th, so join us next week to take a peek at what is coming up!.

Some of you may have seen some updates regarding pregenerated characters for Pathfinder Society (2nd edition) and Starfinder Society For Pathfinder, we’ve corrected some errors, changed weight/carrying capacity, and added third level versions of a limited number of pregens, so that new players can participate in the first Level 3-6 scenario that released the end of November. Starfinder Society has three new pregens for the new classes in the Character Operations Manual. All of these are Society legal for play. We hope you enjoy!

In last Tuesday’s blog, we announced PaizoCon 2020 Guests of Honor (yay Kate and Damien!) and opened ticket sales. In related news, the Organized Play Foundation’s general call for volunteers to GM or help with HQ opens on Thursday, December 5th at 0800 am. More information is available on the OPF website.

We’ve received a few evaluations, so hopefully we will see a few 5-nova GMs soon! While we wait for the online nova evaluation tool, which is part of a greater tools overhaul, we’ve made an online form for logging evaluation games. Venture-Captains, please use this form to submit evaluations.

Quite a few of our community earned their first glyph this month! Congrats to everyone running events and qualifying for their glyphs. Huzzah and thank you.

Join us for our annual celebration of all things Paizo! Badges are on sale now.

From May 22-25th, 2020, at the SeaTac Doubletree by Hilton, Paizo will host hundreds of panels, workshops, and of course, games for our Paizo community. Our goal for PaizoCon is to provide a laid-back and relaxed convention experience where fans can meet up and enjoy a weekend of gaming and related activities with each other as well as our employees. A number of our business partners, Pathfinder or Starfinder compatible publishers, artists, authors, and other folks from our gaming community also attend, providing a unique opportunity to meet the minds that make and support the games we publish.

Saturday May 23rd, 2020, we will have our PaizoCon Preview Banquet where we will show off the exciting, and sometimes unannounced, new books and content we’re cooking up!

For PaizoCon 2020, we are thrilled to be joined by Guests of Honor Kate Baker and Damien Mammoliti!

Kate Baker has written dozens of projects for Paizo, working on both Pathfinder and Starfinder products, but is most notorious for writing Starfinder Society Scenario #1-08: Sanctuary of Drowned Delight, featuring the colorful space walruses, the morlamaws. She first began writing for tabletop RPGs four years ago and is an active member and administrator at Freelance Forge, a community for RPG freelancers, where she loves answering questions from new writers. She is particularly excited about her two adventure path volumes: Starfinder Adventure Path #22: The Forever Reliquary and Pathfinder Adventure Path #154: Siege of the Dinosaurs. Kate is an avid Organized Play participant and she serves as a Venture-Agent.

Damien Mammoliti is a freelance artist working on tabletop RPG and Paizo products since 2009. He's appeared in many games, books, and board games since then, earning him a Silver ENnie for his cartography work in Starfinder Pact Worlds. He serves as the principal cartographer for Starfinder, creating battle, world, and terrain maps, as well as an illustrator for Pathfinder's world maps, monsters, and characters. With over a decade of experience in the TTRPG field, and even more playing in it, Damien strives for lively, realistic worlds and terrains that spark imaginations for players across the world.

Puzzles good and puzzles fun,
Puzzles here for everyone!

Hello, longshanks!

We be the goblins of the Mindsharp tribe! We be a very smarty and friendly group. Months ago, goblin-friends Jason Keeley and Joe Pasini friends ask us to help make puzzles for annual Pie-zoh-kahn Puzzle Hunt! We be happy to lend our brains to help, though some Mindsharps still not sure about written word. They gave us instructions for each puzzle to make, and we think we followed most of them!

Now it your turn to test your smartyness against Mindsharps! Read magic blue words below for puzzle hunt! No prize for solving, but if you come to our village, we can teach you new game as reward! It involve square wood board, rock playing pieces, pickles (for snacking), and barrel of flammable tar. We still need to figure out best way to bury goblin who win, but it still very fun game!

What is a puzzle hunt?
A puzzle hunt is a series of linked puzzles, with the answer to each being a word or phrase. Those words and phrases are used in a larger puzzle to generate the hunt's final solution. Figuring out how that puzzle works is part of the challenge!

Who made this, anyway?
Mostly a bunch of goblins, but Jason Keeley and Joe Pasini helped. However, none of them could have done it without the aid of Art Director Sonja Morris, who created all of the puzzle hunt's outstanding graphics!

What do I do if get stuck?
First, put the puzzle down and come back at it in an hour or so with a fresh mind. Perhaps you'll spot something you hadn't seen before. Be sure to reread the instructions at the top of the page; sometimes clues are hidden in there! If all that fails, feel free to ask for a hint on the Paizo.com forums. There's no shame in getting a nudge from a fellow solver, and perhaps you can help her in return with a different puzzle!

PaizoCon 2019 is quickly approaching—join us in Seattle, WA over the four-day Memorial Day weekend and play games, attend seminars, roll dice, shop—and celebrate all things Paizo!

The Roll For Combat Starfinder actual play podcast sent multiple people to PaizoCon 2018 for free, and this year they’re at it again. They’re also expanding their contest and making anyone in the world eligible to win a trip to PaizoCon 2019 in Seattle!

For those unfamiliar with Roll For Combat, the podcasters are playing their way through the Dead Suns Adventure Path, as well as the occasional Starfinder Society adventure. They also regularly host Paizo guests on their show—both as interviewees and as guest players. Over the years the show has hosted Erik Mona, The Order of the Amber Die, Thurston Hillman, John Compton, Stephen Radney-MacFarland, Jason Keeley, Amanda Hamon, James Jacobs, and more. Some of them even developed new Starfinder gear just for the show (which you can download for free from the Roll For Combat Discord channel).

So how does the contest work and what can you win? First, the prizes: the winner will receive a trip to PaizoCon 2019 including airfare (or a portion thereof for some international locations), a hotel room at the DoubleTree, a 4-day pass to PaizoCon, and a ticket to the PaizoCon banquet.

How to Enter: Listen to the show starting with Roll for Combat Episode 70: "Never Give Up, Maybe Surrender?" and continuing until Roll for Combat Episode 76: “The Slug Defense”. Although episode 70 starts at the beginning of Dead Suns Book 4, The Ruined Clouds, GM Stephen provides a full recap of the adventure-to-date before starting a new book. It’s easy to jump right into the show without missing a beat!

During each episode, you will be posed a simple question, such as “how many crits occurred during this week’s combat?” Take notes on these answers as they’ll be required for entry.

Once you have all your answers, just head over to the Roll For Combat Contest Entry Form, fill out all the fields, answer one question from each episode, and you’ll be all set!

The winner(s) will be randomly selected from all correct entries and be announced on April 23, 2019 on Episode 81 of the podcast. Wait, did we say winner(s)? Well, last year Roll For Combat initially was going to only send a single person to PaizoCon, but decided to extend the contest two additional weeks and ended up sending a total of three people to PaizoCon. Will they do this again this year? Who knows, but if history is any indication there is a good chance they will!

What if I don’t win? Have no fear, explorer! Paizo will be livestreaming many of the seminars on the our Twitch Channel.

Badge and ticket sales now open for PaizoCon 2019!

PaizoCon is an annual convention run by Paizo Inc., where the Paizo community comes to play, learn, and connect with each other. The Paizo community includes fans and players, Paizo employees, authors, artists, RPG media (podcasts and reviewers, etc), RPG industry publishers, and business partners. PaizoCon occurs over Memorial Day weekend (May 24-27) and is held in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels near the SeaTac airport. Liane Merciel is the author of critically acclaimed novels including The River Kings' Road, Dragon Age: Last Flight, and Pathfinder Tales: Hellknight. She has also contributed to game materials such as Paizo's Nidal: Land of Shadows, Faiths of Golarion, and other forthcoming releases.

Wayne Reynolds's work has appeared in roleplaying games, collectable card games, board games, and miniature designs. He has contributed cover art and internal illustrations for comics, novels, and historical reference books. His work has graced the covers of the Pathfinder Playtest Rulebook and numerous volumes of Pathfinder Adventure Path, as well as the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook and every Pathfinder hardcover Paizo has produced since. Wayne continues to work with Paizo's designers to reveal never-before-seen corners of Golarion, while his own in-depth knowledge of historic weapons, armor, and fighting styles brings the most exciting elements of the Pathfinder RPG to life.

And returning for PaizoCon are our special guests from the Glass Cannon! Last year's smash-hit Guests of Honor included the Glass Canon Network crew and they'll be back again as Special Guests for 2019. They'll be hosting several live play games and other podcasting events throughout the four days so be sure to save some time in your gaming schedule to check them out.

In addition to our Guests of Honor and Special Guests, PaizoCon gives fans, friends, and freelancers an opportunity to meet, game, and network with the entire Paizo staff as well as other RPG industry folks. With the exception of the Preview Banquet held on Saturday evening, the Grand Ballroom will be filled with Pathfinder and Starfinder Society games and Pathfinder Adventure Card Game events run by the Organized Play Foundation (OPF). We'll have numerous games run by Paizo staff, RPG industry luminaries (including games run by the authors that wrote them), and by members of our amazing community. We also host seminars and workshops that range from deep dives into specific books we've published to world building, alien creation, and other topics for game developers, fiction writers, and RPG and sci-fi/fantasy fans alike.

On a personal note, I've been attending PaizoCon since 2009 and every year I look forward to the enthusiasm and excitement the community brings. I love seeing familiar faces, meeting new friends, and getting to see the people behind the forum avatars. After 12 years of PaizoCon and 11 years of running the show, Paizo is still finding lots of opportunity to improve the convention and the attendee experience. I'm happy to report, based on feedback from the community, in addition to the regular 8:00 AM-1:00 PM games the OPF will be running at least 10 tables of Society games during the 1:00 PM-6:00 PM time slots on Friday, Saturday (1:00 PM-5:00 PM), and Sunday afternoons. I will also be working with the OPF to leave a number of seats at Society games open folks who are unable to pre-register for events. I'm confident that these and other scheduling improvements will make 2019 one of our best PaizoCons so far!
