Is there any way to pre-order a PDF? I'll order the hardcover if it will get me the PDF!

Hey, just wanted to pop in and say how happy I am to see all the excitement over the announcement, and to have Thursty officially on board to help steer this crazy ship!

With the people maybe reaching a maximum of maybe level 7 after the first season higher level content is more of a theoretical possibility anyway.I am a big fan of the tighter tiers but a bit sad that 12 is the maximum level (i was hoping for a higher maximum).I suspect that if SFS is a success, then higher tiers can be added.
With 3 scenarios at GenCon then one a month you're looking at 15 in the first season. That's just level 6 if they play all 15. So level 11 at the end of season 2. If they add in AP content, that changes the formula but APs probably have their own PCs.

A *killer* incentive programme would be to give GMs who are running this at GenCon a pre-release copy say, a month before GenCon, if possible
When PF launched, I believe the GM Org Play volunteers got PDF copies of the core book about two or three weeks before GenCon, to allow us to prep to run right out of the gate.

Will the info for altering the volunteering for GenCon slots be posted here, in the Gen Con Volunteers thread, or both?
It will post in the Gen Con call to volunteers thread, this thread, and emailed to all volunteers currently on the GenCon roster.

Does Paizo have plans to have Starfinder Battles miniatures for characters, monsters, as well as spacecraft? How about flip maps for some space ships and space stations?

So that would be a "no" on miniatures? Some of us just don't like the cardboard pawns.
Given the major cost and effort of miniatures production, it's definitely not going to be their first priority - especially when they don't even know how successful the brand will be. Give it time. ^_^

It's more like "There are not currently any announcements on the miniatures front." Should that change, have no doubt that Erik and others will be proclaiming it from atop the grandest starships.

Besides, if you really, really need scifi minis, I'm certain that the vast armies of 40K minis will do the job this time.

I also like how this announcement came so close to the release of new Mass Effect game. Space Operas for all!
If the blog post announcing the release of the Starfinder Core Rulebook isn't titled "I'm Commander Shepherd and this is my favorite Book on the station." then John Compton wasted everyone's time.

I'm getting more pumped about Starfinder the more I think about it. It'll be super fun to play at Gencon and I can't wait to see what kind of new alien species we'll get to play!
Has anyone on the Starfinder team ever seen Legend of the Galactic Heroes?I have!
This makes me ridiculously happy and hopeful. While my gut was telling me Starfinder was going to feel more like Firefly or Outlaw Star, my heart was hoping for some of the political and/or economic intrigues that have made LoGH such a shining beacon. I expect nothing less of the people who brought us the many intrigue driven adventures I've come to love in Pathfinder Society.
August 2017 is going to have Starfinder, Legend of the Five Rings and a new Legend of the Galactic Heroes reboot? I can't wait.
I just want a PigYou can have all the pigs you want. You'll find them in the Starfinder Core Rulebook, listed as "space rations".
Take it from Ezren, they're a better choice than pickles.
My one hope for Starfinder Society is that Drendle Dreng is still around handing out missions with no explanation given.
That would definitely be a weird feeling for us who have Seeker characters.

Perhaps that's because he's a deity and he's forgotten he is one? And has so MUCH information crammed inside his head he's also forgotten everything pre-Gap?

I would certainly play a cleric of Drendle Drang.

You're thinking of a different Venture-Captain. Dreng disappeared for a little bit, but he's back now!

The obedience to Dreng is to wake up 6 strangers in the middle of the night for no discernible reason.
