Oh Look, More Venture-Captains!

October 27, 2010

A few weeks ago we announced 13 Regional Coordinators that we're calling Venture-Captains. Since then, Mark and I have been going through the entire Pathfinder Society program and starting the process of making sure Season 2 ends with a bang you'll all remember, making plans for Season 3 (which will be awesome, trust me), and going through all of the rules for the Society program itself. In between all of that, I've reviewed a number of Venture-Captain applications and chosen a few new Coordinators. We're still not finished naming new Venture-Captains, but rather than sit on these names I thought it was more important to get them announced and out there building the Society in their area. And so, without further ado, here are your new Venture-Captains!

Oh, before you head over to the messageboards, you should scroll down a little to check out what my new desktop image is. Isn't it amazing? It's the cover to Matt Goodall's RPG Superstar adventure Cult of the Ebon Destroyers done by a good friend of mine, Kieran Yanner. And speaking of RPG Superstar, we're hard at work preparing for the 2011 round, so start getting ready for it. Who knows, this time next year I could be putting the cover to your adventure on my desktop.

Wonder if this means Asuras for the Bestiary? Really looking forward to Ebon Destroyers.

Is it just me or is she larger than the norm? It's been a while since I ran the previous example that has appeared so far.

Holy Piddlespot!!!

Congrats all.

What I really realize is how how many VCs we're going to have a NeonCon in Vegas next week...6 by my count.

I think Sin City is going to implode under the weight of the collective awesome coming.

Welcome on-board new Venture-Captains! I know folk in some of those regions have been crying loud for someone to represent them for a while now.

Does this mean Neil Shackleton has claimed my title of Regional Coordinator of the largest geographical area?

Congratulations also Matt, the cover to your Cult of the Ebon Destroyers looks awesome! Having playtested some of the adventure with you, I can't wait to hold the finished product in my hands to read in glorious colour.

Cheers,
DarkWhite

That is one awesome cover, and given the standard already set by Paizo, that is going some.

And Huzzah Neil!

Thanks All!

Not to worry, DarkWhite - I've got a mere million square km (just Ontario), so you are still well ahead with your 7 million.

My only geographical concern is the lack of a buffer zone with a certain 5-star GM [shudder][/shudder].

I even hear that he is planning to invade for HammerCon on November 6th! I will just have to retaliate by rocking U-Con on the 12th-14th.

Very nice cover for Cult of the Ebon Destroyers! And congrats to the new VCs...especially that "other Neil" guy... ;-)

Yah! The Canucks have a VC! (or at least Ontario)

"O' Captain my Captain!" or however that goes exactly.

Hi all -
There will be four Venture-Captains at NeonCon.
Rene and I are the Pathfinder Coordinators and newly named VC's, while Robyn Nixon from LA and Eric Brittan from San Diego is also expected to be there.
Additionaly, there will be Owen KC Stephens, Sean K Reynolds, STAN!, Jason Bulhman and so many other dignitaries that I can't even remember them all.
The Shadow Lodge Event will be happening Saturday night and Iron GM will be held during the afternoon Saturday.
So come on out to NeonCon Nov. 4-7 at the Tropicana Hotel and see some of the industry's greatest and an awesome concentration of Venture-Captains.

Be Well. Be Well Neon'd.

Way to go Neil, I can't think of a more deserving sucker...I mean, fellow!

Now, one of your first missions to make the PFS even better is to get that brother of yours to write another scenario!

Don't swell his head like that! That's the last thing we need.

Besides, he has that bracket of Toronto after his name - I say he has no dominion over us in Ottawa (but still plan on using and abusing him as though he does!)

Yes the Beatific One is normally medium in size, but perhaps this is a Great or Mahana (great in Hindi - thanks Google Translate) Beatific One. Also the Beatific One is waiting conversion in the D20PFSRD, I'm wondering if Paizo will change her/it at all; a large one would be sweet. Well that is for another post for now.

Congratulations to the new V.C. HIP! HIP!...

According to the NeonCon Warhorn, JP Chapleau (Denver) and Mike Azzolino (Bay Area) will be there as well.

I'm telling you, the fabric of time and space and Pathfindering may not be able to take the strain.

I'm looking forward to that weekend...all heck is going to break loose, I tells ya!

I suppose there's no way now to pre-empt the wide usage of "VC" for Venture-Captain? Here in Canada (and the rest of the British Empire) VC stands for "Victoria Cross", the highest decoration bestowed to military personnel - a bit like the U.S. Medal of Honor. Not saying the new Venture Captains aren't great people, but...

We could call them Venture Directors VD for short or VD's plural. Let's just Google that to make sure it's not taken... Hmmmm... Let see what images has... OH GOD! No that wont do... Venture Captains it is.

I suggest "Pathfinder Society Yeoman Co-ordinator and Head Organizer".

Sovereign Court 3/5

I've lost count of the number of VC's that will be at NeonCon with at least six of us...which means that if we as a group are one-third of the total, and it seems likely the first time a crowd of VC's will be gathered. As Theocrat I wholly support our position of complete dominance and putting down of the Heathens {non-TALDORANS}. But if there is a secret cabal......I recommend coming to NeonCon to "attempt" to stop us/them!

Considering "VC" in its common and regular usage in US and Canadian business stands for "Venture Capital", I'd say we're safe as to not insult the recipients of the Victoria Cross.

Like when somebody decided to name the new Project Management System PMS.

Taldans, don't confuse us with the Andorans...and you call yourself a Taldan.

Sovereign Court 3/5

Yes. I know proper Taldane is Taldan, however it started with Goldfrapp the Naked Taldoran Trebuchet and continues forward. At least I only have to yell TALDOR and not all the Taldane nuances! Be sure to enter the Shadow Lodge event at NeonCon, Goldfrapp will indeed be clothes free at some point in front of the entirecity of Absalom.

Congrats to all the Venture-Captains! I expect each and every one of you to be at our local game day next Saturday night in Columbia, MO. Since we are right in the middle of the country, we kinda fall under the domain of all of you. Be here at 6 p.m., ready to run. Thanks!
