Ketsu-kiba |

Was such an appropriate idea, didn't want to step on toes.
Ketsu-kiba responds "We accept your surrender, now that your life is in our hands, you may earn it and your freedom back, with one simple answer. Where is the Bladecaller?"

GM Farol |

"Bladecaller? At this time he is still sleeping upstairs, he should be up within 30 mins or so." She says and you can see her changing her shape into a small spider and she darts towards the kitchen doors, like she was not trusting your word.
The assassins jumps after and cuts her to pieces as well as ending the misery of slowed spearman.
You know that the fight caused some noise and you are afraid if anyone would storm in right after you finished it. We are out of fight, it took 4 rounds -> 4 awarness points to you.
You hear steps of a patrol going your way.
UNEXPECTED PATROL COMPLICATION
The patrol is going your way and soon will enter the room filled with bodies. You can try to distract them to send them some other way, Deception DC33 or hide, along with the bodies stealth DC31

I just realized that we never discussed Hero Points. I assumed we all started with at least one, but I just went back through Discussion and didn't see anything. Does Sien have a Hero Point to spend?

Ann Hilate |

Ann silently stuffs the giant's body under the table, shoves the chairs in to hide it as much as possible, and leaps up to a hiding place up by the ceiling. She presses her arms and legs between two ceiling beams and holds there, motionless.
Very rarely do people think to look up.

Voting north, but we may want to leave the guards at the exterior to arouse less suspicion, find the staircases up, and try to surgically remove Bladefoot rather than be completionist.

Moonlight hides the bodies - then points "up" - through to there he imagines the master bedroom will be.
He nods ominously to Sien.

Ann Hilate |

Ann tries to hide an amused half-smile, then nods to Sien in a moderately passable imitation of Moonlight's ominous nod. She pads silently to the north door and listens for sounds on the other side. If it's silent, she stealthily tries to open it so she can peek in, then silently close it to communicate what she sees.
Stealth +24

GM Farol |

You head north to find stairs up, you crack the door open ...
This large hall contains two long wooden tables with long benches. Each table is covered with partially finished meals, dirty utensils, and mostly emptied goblets. Greatswords and other assorted weapons hang on the walls. The western wall has two arrow slits that let cold air and the howl of the wind from the mountains beyond. Double stone doors exit to the south. Three doors in the east wall lead to small chambers, and a small hallway ends in a fourth door leading further into the fortress. A stairway in the northwest corner ascends higher into the fortress and one to the east leads down.
You can see three soldiers finishing their breakfast ...
Do you try to bullshit your way next to them? GO into the fight? Or wait for soldiers to finish? Or try and look for another stairs?

Ann Hilate |

Ann narrows her eyes. These guys look easier to beat than the crew they just took down, but more likely to shout for backup. That would be irritating. She raises an eybrow at Ketsu-kiba and cocks her head toward the mess hall, whispering so only her team can hear: "Wanna try fooling them until we get into position to take them down quietly?"

![]() |

Moonlight nods.
Not carrying a greatsword himself, he hides near the back as the others approach.

Chi Sien |

Sien doesn't have the skills to fool anyone, but is fine to play along or stay out of the way.

Ketsu-kiba sheathes the saber behind her back and moves the greatsword to a more visible position.
"Honest opinion, without looking up too hard from your breakfast, do they look like our soldiers or not? I'm not convinced by the new tailor."
Barely waiting for their answer and looking back to her troops "Well hurry upstairs, if this goes on any longer we aren't going to get any breakfast at all."

One of the soldiers looks at you heading towards the stairs
"Hmm, not enough steel, to soft, My 3 year old daughter could sleep in that" says one giggling as he eats a piece of meat with his hands.
You are able to get to the stairs and ascend without any issues, On the top floor you are in a narrow corridor taking you to the door. You crack them open and take a peek in:
An immense perch created from two-foot-thick logs sits in the middle of this open chamber. To the south, the wall opens out onto the fortress’s uppermost balcony, giving an expansive view of the tundra and skies. A prodigious pile of bird droppings lies on the ground below the perch, in which the bones of woolly rhinos, elk, and a few humans protrude. An alarm bell hangs from the wall to the southwest near the opening onto the balcony.
You can see two birds keeping a close eye on what is happening.

Ann Hilate |

@GM Farol: I put an orange circle on the map where it seems like the alarm bell would be. Is that the right spot? Ann might want to disable it.
Hmmmm. Those birds could cause a rukus, and if they're seen flying off at the wrong time... Plus any noise up here will alert the guards downstairs. She looks to the group for their input on how best to handle this situation.
