Mira, sprinting forward tells me that you are not being careful about the wooden pallets over the pits. Is this accurate?

![]() |

Snag replies ** spoiler omitted **
Snag then points at the goblin and a black bolt streaks out at it. He then casts another spell and his shield appears in front of him.
I cannot see the map at the moment. If I have to move to see then I do instead of casting my Shield. I do cast Electric Arc.

Mira Damaris |

Mira, sprinting forward tells me that you are not being careful about the wooden pallets over the pits. Is this accurate?
Partially. She is rushing forward with haste, but, she should have enough movement to get to the outside of the room and run along the edge away from the palletes and avoid them, coming in between them in the end. That said, if there are traps or affects adjacent to the pallets, then yes, she is not being overly cautious now that the enemy is in sight.

Ziel Dosomal |

Realizing the situation is getting ugly, Ziel unsheathes his weapon and slinks to the edge of the room, avoiding the pits.
I believe the best course of action is for Ziel to draw his weapon, and move 30 feet up to the edge to try and get behind the goblin

![]() |

Okay, no problem if you are skirting the perimeter. Just wanted to know your path, in case you passed over any of the wooden pallets.
Ziel, gotcha, so Interact (Draw), Stride, Attack for your 3 actions? Or do you have another third action in mind?
EDIT: Ziel, it would take you two actions to move into a flank with Mira, if that is what you'd like to try.

![]() |

You would be setting up the flank for Mira, but you would be sacrificing your attack for Round 1. If you have a ranged option, you could attack after your first Stride. Providing the flank would help Mira (who is the Fighter of the group) improve her chances of hitting, or better yet, critting. Ultimately, it is your choice.

Mangrove moves into the room, begins singing a song of bravery and heroes, then raises his shield, just in case... Meanwhile, Ziel draws his blade, then skirts the edge of the room, opposite Mira and moves into a flank to give the young town guard an opening!
Mira moves into position and swings hard! 8 damage to the deformed goblin! (+1 for courageous anthem)
The big goblin growls, and retorts with a flurry! Two of its weapons swinging at Mira and the third at Ziel!

Mira was completely unprepared for the goblin to drop Ziel with a single blow. She was injured too, but it was the fact that the newcomer as laying in a bloody pile that affects her so much, that her next two swings are completely off target!
She tries to shake her head and get with it, raising her shield in defense.

If I'm up that assumes I can attack, if not ignore this

1d20 ⇒ 16 Eep, critical success again! Barely, but still...
A dark void forms near the deformed goblin, as it tears at him, the goblin screams, runes etched into his skin flash momentarily and he emerges unscathed!
Snag hurls another arc of lightning at the goblin! 1d20 ⇒ 18 What the heck? Another crit...
The goblin hops aside and laughs, babbling in his archaic goblin tongue!
Ziel stands up (1 action), snatching up his rapier from the ground (one action), and thrusts up at the deformed menace before him! Hit! Adding one more damage because of courageous anthem! 9 damage!
Mira, do you want to burn a hero point on either of those attacks?

Sorry. Saw Korovus name and thought you healed him. I'll change the healing to Mira.

Mira, remember that CA also adds to damage!
1d20 ⇒ 18 Jeez, you casters cannot get a break!
The goblin cackles with glee as he evades yet another spell! His smug demeanor disappears quickly as the head of Mira's hammer snaps his neck! The deformed goblin teeters for a moment before falling onto one of the wooden pallets and crashes through into a dark pit below... There is a sickening thud, followed by the sounds of something feeding, a ravenous hunger below...
Combat over!
EDIT: Will give a moment of conversation, and tending of wounds possibly, before I continue the exploration...

![]() |

The zombie is in a pit and no threat to you all, but it becomes clear that each pit, covered with a rickety wooden pallet, contains a zombie... Almost as if this goblin was like a caretaker to these undead 'pets'...

Snag the Shadowcaster |

"Snag not like undead. Should Snag re-kill them all with black lightning?" Snag asks his allies.

Anthony Slater, Human Warpriest |

Treat Wounds on Ziel: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24for: 2d8 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
Treat Wounds on Mira ten minutes later: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24for: 2d8 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
"Yes, destroy the undead. Then, maybe we can rest. My only healing is via this kit of healing tools. I could really use a long rest to get Milani's blessings again."

Mira Damaris |

"Thanks, Anthony."
Mira observes the creature and weighs options. "If it's trapped and unable to get out, is there a way we can handle this without sustaining further injury or risk to us?"
When Snag mentions a way to accomplish this, she nods in agreement.

![]() |

Tossing the pallets aside, opening the pits up to Snag, you set to work. Snag summons the elemental forces of nature and hurls lightning into the pits, one by one, only stopping once the undead abominations are blackened, stinking masses of charred, rotted flesh. By the time the little goblin is done with his handiwork, the room is filled with smoke and the sickening smell of burnt flesh and hair...
Ziel and Mira feel much better after Anthony's practiced hands clean and bind their wounds, and the smell is enough to urge you on from this room.
Return to town, or finish exploring this wing?

Snag the Shadowcaster |

"Snag ready to move on. Sandpoint not out of pot yet." Snag says.

![]() |

Sorry, gearing up for the start of school! I will try to have a post up by this evening!

![]() |

Checking down the corridor to the South, you find a twisting flight of spiral stairs the descends into the depths. However, before you can get very far down, you find that there was a collapse that filled it in and blocks up the stairway.
Continuing, you find a door with the seven-pointed star emblazoned on the old oaken door. There is a keyhole indicating an old lock, and a black iron ring for a doorknob.
Ziel listens at the door, but hears nothing to indicate that it is inhabited, nor finds anything threatening on the door. Testing it, the young elf finds it unlocked and is able to open it with little trouble.
The strange room beyond is a fifteen-foot-diameter sphere. Several objects float in the room, spinning lazily in space—a ragged book, a scroll, a bottle of wine, a dead raven surrounded by a halo of floating and writhing maggots, and a twisted iron wand with a forked tip. Yet perhaps the most unnerving aspect of the room is the walls, for they are plated in sheets of strange red metal that ripple every once in a while with silent black electricity that seems to coalesce into strange runes or even words far too often for the effect to be chance.

Snag the Shadowcaster |

"Snag not think this is normal building material for Sandpoint." Snag says as he looks over the weird walls.
