Anthony charges forward and readies his shield, while Snag scrambles into the room and calls down an arc of lightning that forks, shooting at two goblins! Magenta: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 Red1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Magenta, not really paying attention to his kin coming up on them, gets hit in the chest and lies on the table, chest heaving and seems a bit stunned. -5 hp for Magenta

Red1, however, notices the casting and leaps aside, catching only his leg in the lightning stroke! -2 hp for Red1

Goblin White looks about and pulls his bow and fires off a couple of shots! Arrow at Anthony: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Arrow at Anthony, MAP: 1d20 + 7 - 5 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 5 = 16 Anthony, do you have Shield Block? If you do, I believe that your shield wouldn't take damage for the 1 hp. Otherwise you can save your Reaction for a later possible hit.

Slow to respond, Lucien slinks into the room, moving near Mangrove. He lines up a shot at Magenta with his shortbow. It looks like a good shot against a wounded foe and hopefully finishes off one more goblin. Lucien then pivots to fire again, trying to pick out another wounded goblin with his bow.

First shot at Magenta. If it finishes that one off, will pivot to R1, otherwise second shot also at Magenta.

Going to assume that you had your bow at the ready, but remember in the future, it is an action to draw. You were expecting trouble so it is not a stretch to say that you expected trouble... Lucien, drawing a bead on Magenta, feathers the goblin, hitting him in the chest. The little goblin, screams and falls off the table, dead!

Satisfied, the little halfling scampers to cover and aims at the other goblin (Red1) that was hit by Snag's lightning and looses a second arrow catching it in the throat! It gurgles and falls off of Mira!

Green goblin ◆ throw improvised, ◆ Interact to pick up another, ◆ throw improvised hurls bottles and shards of glass at Mira, while the Red Goblin ◆ Stride, ◆ Strike, ◆ Strike MAP charges at her with its dogslicer! Blue goblin ◆ Stride, ◆ Strike Improvised, ◆ Strike Improvised, MAP pulls his glowing hot tongs from the furnace and swings it at the prone town guard!

Because Mira is prone, the glass shatters across the floor and nearby table!

The first hit slams against Mira's shield and shatters! The goblin looks at it briefly, then slashes with what is left!

The first hit sparks off the floor as Mira rolls out of the way, but the second it much closer as the warrior gets her shield up, just in time!

Glass, doglicers and who knows what else rains down upon Mira as she is sprawled out on the floor. She does her best to deflect what she can with her shield, but knows this isn't sustainable and she needs to reclaim her feet.

She stands back up, steps her her right to get out of being surrounded and tries to attack the goblin in front of her.

With two down near her, she takes her feet and swings twice!

Dangit, I didn't even notice the edits... As for Lucien, both of his attacks hit and so the CA didn't affect things much. If he wasn't targeting the wounded goblins, the damage bonus would have mattered, but they were already wounded...

Oop, I also think I messed up and moved the wrong goblin forward instead of Yellow 2... Yellow2 moves (◆) up to Mira and swings its dogslicer at the guard twice (◆&◆)! Dogslicer: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

However, Blue leaps to the side and the bolt runs up his leg and it screams in pain! -3 hp to Blue!

Anthony swings hard at the cringing goblin crushing its chest in! End combat.

You take in the gruesome scene, moving toward the figure in the alcove to investigate. You all are met with a horrific scene, as you see Ameiko's father, Lonjiku, encased in cooling glass! It looks as if someone, maybe the goblins poured molten glass on him while he was still alive!

You barely have time to process the scene before the double doors to the South burst open and Kusano comes, you can barely hear him but he is shouting, Otou-san, why is the shop...

The boy stops mid-sentence as he sees you and the carnage and drops the sack of groceries that he carries...

Lucien puts his bow away as the last goblin falls. He hustles over to where the glass-covered body of the Ameiko's old father sits. He tries to determine if he still lives if its possible. If not, he begins to search around the area for any sign of the inn-keeper instead.

While the rest of the group handles scene cleanup and investigation, Mira reacts immediately to Kusano's sudden appearance, her instincts as a protector overriding everything else. "Kusano!" she calls out, as she crosses the room with urgency. She steps in front of him, blocking his view of the scene, and kneels to his level.

In a soft, but authoritative tone she says "Hey, hey." she says, placing a hand lightly on his shoulder. "It’s alright, Kusano. You shouldn’t be here. Come on, let’s step outside, for a moment, okay? You don’t need to see this."

Lucien investigates the elder Kaijutsu, and comes to the conclusion that the man died in a most painful manner... Either these goblins were excessively cruel or whoever did this had made this personal...

Kusano's trembling voice breaks her heart. She feels a pang of guilt, knowing she can’t give him the answers he needs—at least, not right now.
Her grip on his shoulder stays firm, steady, and reassuring. "I don’t know yet, Kusano. But we’re going to find out, I promise you that. Right now, I need you to be strong for me, alright?"

"Someone was out to get the old man, and did a fine job of it." Lucien shares with the others when Kusano is safely out of earshot. "He likely was alive when they covered him with molten glass. Not fun at all. I expect it's this brother, wherever he is. I wonder if he pals around with these goblins too, or maybe had something to do with the original assault. Doesn't seem to be any sign of him or Ameiko here. Likely have to keep checking. I am especially curious how the goblins got here, in the middle of town, without being seen."

He noses around in the furnace room for any others signs, but is clearly ready to look around more.

Mira nods to Kusano. "It's not safe here. I want you to go find Sherriff Hemlock and wake him up. Tell him that there is trouble at the Glassworks with more goblins. Ameiko is missing. He should round up the militia and get over here."

She reaches out and gives him a crushing hug, squeezing him so hard he coughs. "Stay safe. We'll be fine. Anthony and Manny are keeping us on our feet."

Mira departs, dashing back into the glassworks and regrouping with her allies. "Okay. What do we know? Any sign of Ameiko? How did we miss all these goblins? Were they hiding here the whole time? Wouldn't have people noticed that?"

The boy hiccups and sniffles before giving a slight bow, as is the way of his people, drilled into him by his father, and runs off!

I tihnk we have explored all the main floor of the Glassworks. We may have to look in the basement(?). At least I assume those stairs next to A116 go down, since there are skylights in the furnace room.

"Mira, no signs of Ameiko or the brother. No idea how the goblins got in here without being seen, so far. We need to case the rest of the place, it looks like downstairs is the only place we haven't been."

Lucien pushes open the door to the basement stairs, looking to see if any light is visible down below. If not, he will allow one of the casters to illuminate the steps before descending, choosing to give up surprise for visibility.

"I don't what's down there, but not many other places the brother can be hiding. Likely more goblins around, so keep you eyes peeled."

He will slowly descend until he can see what's below.

This area seems to be an underground storage. You see immediately as you descend the stair, rubble from a brick wall that seems to have been broken apart. Around the corner seems to be a pair of wheelbarrows and more sand and raw materials that seem to be for the making of glass...

These bricks are far newer than the rest of the walls. This brick wall that was torn down was put up well after the initial construction of this building.

Lucien goes to examine the rubble from the wall. Does it appear to be broken inward, like someone was taking down the wall from outside of it, or broken outward, like something (maybe goblins?) escaped from inside?

It is difficult to tell, but you think that because most of the bricks are collected in the hallway before you, it may have been broken in from the other side... Architecture Lore or Craft would have been a little more conclusive, but this is only your best guess.

"Hard to say for sure," Lucien says after examining the broken masonry, "But it looks like something broke this wall inwards, as in, coming into the rest of the Glassworks. I think we should look back here first."

He steps carefully over the remains of the wall, peering at what might lie behind. If there is nothing immediately threatening behind, he will listen and eventually open the first door.

"Fair point, Snag." says Lucien stopping mid-stride. He will still proceed but will look around cautiously for traps or other clever goblin devices before proceeding to the door. He will also check the door rather carefully just in case.

Lucien passes through the rubble, careful not to set off any traps, but finds none. Instead he finds that just a pair of doors before he finds a second pile of rubble indicating that these two were walled off previously. See A22 and A23.

When Mira gets the signal there are no traps, she pushes up in front of Lucien and takes the lead in opening the doors, one at a time. 23 first, then 22.

Opening A23 Behind this door is a long tunnel that curves and seems to go quite a ways. It would bear some more involved investigation.

Assuming, you set that aside and check A22 before heading down the tunnel... Mira opens the next door and is surprised to see someone, leaned up against the wall, an empty bottle on the floor near his hand. When the door opens, he sits bolt up right, I'll take you both apart! I'll take you both together!

The drunken man (Auvarien, perhaps?) pops to his feat with an agility that belies an adventurer's training...
