its a tough one, the adventure lists the skeletons armor as just regular half plate, but then the picture they give clearly shows that its Hellknight ish half plate.
However they hadn't made Hellknight Half Plate as an item when they made this AP so I understand that they wouldn't be able to include it at the time.
Tough call in my mind. hellknight half plate This item exists, fundamentally its the same as regular Half Plate, just usually only obtainable by members of the Hellknight Order, it seems like the intent behind the item is to be hellknight half plate.
Alak is still just essentially a squire, nor is he dumb enough to waste his life trying to stop yall from wearing it, but there is definitely implications down the road if one of you does wear it, and encounter a full hellknight, ya know?
Or y'all sell it, and buy regular half plate.
I know the picture of Alak shows him wearing Hellknight plate already. James Jacobs said that was a mistake with the artist but they didn't have time to fix it, so they sent it. Alak is supposed to be wearing regular black full plate, and wielding a greatsword.

Is any of the party proficient with heavy armor? I was originally going to have Stom be an armored juggernaut type of barbarian, but the remaster nixed that.
@Lyra: are you considering heavy armor prof?

Lyra Flamecrest |

yeah im planning on taking heavy armor proficiency at level 3

Violant Turra |

I thought damage wasn't increased with +1-+4 runes in 2e? Violant the character may say otherwise, but she's a wholesale 1e transplant.

GM Cody |

You are correct it’s just a +1 to attack. I think my fingers/brain auto piloted to add the damage part lol too many years of DnD and PF1

Stom Flintheart |

Now that the immediate danger is over, if you guys do rest, you'll level up to 3. I don't remember if you have to rest to level up, I'm not super against it either way though.
I usually prefer to do the level up immediately without the need for resting, but I'm fine either way.
Maybe the happy medium is:
* immediately level to 3 w/ feats, spells, etc
* HP, spell slots, etc do not regen

Violant Turra |

I am still relatively new to 2e, so would it be more beneficial to upgrade Crafting or Arcana? I know getting Crafting to expert will finally allow me to transfer those runes next level though.
General Feat: Fleet (back to the 1e movespeed)
Spells: Blazing Bolt (Scorching Ray), Noise Blast (Sound Burst)
Spells Prepared: Acid Arrow (pre-master from scroll), Noise Blast

Lyra Flamecrest |

So I was thinking I’ll take expert in crafting so if you want to do arcana that might work?
I’m gonna take Armour proficiency as my general feat
And I’m gonna take spiritual armament and inner radiance torrent as my spells

Lyra Flamecrest |

Ahh no that’s a good point I was just thinking to make myself more self sufficient for fixing my shield. Probably won’t be going down the magical crafting route. If that’s what you are planning go for it!

Stom Flintheart |

Stom will likely be grabbing Assurance in Medicine. That way, he can safely use Battle Medicine if necessary. Is anyone else besides Lyra capable of healing in- and/or out-of combat?
@GM Cody, ruling question. Can Stom use Battle Medicine while raging?? The Battle Medicine action doesn't have the Concentrate trait, so I think so. Want to check though.

GM Cody |

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use battle medicine while raging. Take some guaze, pack a wound and keep going.

Oppa Silk |

Oppa at Level 3
* Nature (Expert)
* Perception (Expert)
* First World Magic (Electric Arc)
* Shield Block
* Unlimited Signature Spells
* (Spell) 2nd See the Unseen
* (Cantrip) Electric Arc
Doxie at Level 3
* Nature (Expert)
* Perception (Expert)
* Breath Weapon now 2d6 Cold.

GM Cody |

looks like its three votes to go back and two votes to stay.
Which is funny, the spellcasters are wanting to go back versus the martials wanting to stay lol

GM Cody |

I think things are a little tighter than normal, one of the complaints about age of ashes is it doesn’t award enough treasure to match what the rules say for average wealth by level. I’ve been trying to bump up the static gold coins that were found but I think we are still a little short.
Between level 2 and 3 yall should have received 500 gp worth of treasure with at least 120 gp of that being loose coinage and I am pretty sure yall didn’t get quite that much.
I’ll really have to bump things up to get yall caught up. If you want to hold onto the holy symbol, since it is a silver holy symbol of your venerated deity you can, I’ll be adding a lot more wealth rounding out this last chapter in the book.

Stom Flintheart |

To help move the selling of loot along, I grabbed a few items from the party inventory sheet. Definitely not going to be upset if someone else wants something on this list.
Predator's Claw talisman
Potency Crystal talisman
Bracers of Missile Deflection
+1 Greatsword - transfer rune to Stom's Greataxe
I also marked things as something to sell. Y'all should definitely feel free to change that decision.
Low grade silver longsword
low grade cold iron shortsword
Assuming that we sell everything that's currently marked as Sale, we'd get back 78.575 gp as a party. Subtract some gold for rune transfers at 3gp per transfer.

Oppa Silk |

Oppa would like to take the Lesser comprehension and invisibility.
On second thought I see no reason to have a weapon potency rune, as I can't imagine when Oppa would use such instead of Doxie or spells.
It might pay for someone to keep the silver or cold iron weapon as a back-up weapon. Sometimes creatures have weakness to this type of weapon and the damage bonus can be quite nice.

Lyra Flamecrest |

I have the silver morning star and the +1 morning star but I think I’ll move the potency rune to the silver so I have a +1 silver morning star instead of carrying around 2

GM Cody |

For clarification, there's only one worker at Quarter and Bits that can move potency runes, y'all will have to decide which one goes first for transferring potency runes, he can only do 1 weapon a day.
We also don't have a ton of book left actually, there's the chance y'all could finish up the rest of that basement and move into exploring that tunnel starting chapter 4 and finish the book without another 8 hour rest depending on how hard y'all push.

Violant Turra |

We probably should only pay for it one at a time though. Violant will eventually be able to move potency runes. Violant is taking all the scrolls except Heal, and is going to scribe the ones she doesn't have overnight. Still unsure if I will sell the extra holy symbol though.

Stom Flintheart |

A lot of folks have a silver weapon already. The cold iron shortsword is the only cold iron weapon we've found so far. I agree with Oppa. Let's keep it.
Any opinions on who should go first on the rune transfer assembly line? If Lyra or Samael want to go first, Stom would probably just use the Greatsword for the time being.

Lyra Flamecrest |

Samael can go first and I can just use the +1 Morningstar for now

Stom Flintheart |

Stom's level 3
Skill Increase: Athletics
General Feat: Assurance in Medicine (basically just to ensure Battle Medicine succeeds if we are in a pinch)
Furious Footfalls - 25ft speed; 30ft speed when raging

Stom Flintheart |

@Samael: Do the Doubling Rings help your build?
Hmm, something is wrong with the inventory sheet. The sum of the items marked as Sale is giving 157.15. But when I manually added them all, I got 245.15.
Assuming 245gp, 1sp, and 5cp is correct, that's 122gp, 5sp, and 7.5cp. Split evenly among the party, that's 24gp, 5sp, and 1.5 cp.
@Lyra: I know you were thinking about heavy armor. Do you have enough gold to afford full plate? I'd chip in for that if you need it.

Violant Turra |

Oh yeah trapfinding is a feat in PF2e isn't it. Currently playing a PF1e rogue without one and I kind of forgot it even existed up until now.

Lyra Flamecrest |

Yeah I was thinking about heavy armor but my strength isn’t high enough. I didn’t plan that out too well so i probably won’t take it till 5th. I’m still looking at my options

GM Cody |

Were you guys wanting to try and role play out selling the emperor birds? Admittedly, I can't find any references on the baords of other groups trying to sell them lol but I'm not one to say no, so if y'all want to try and role play out haggling for a price or something we can.
Additionally, this town y'all are in is a level 4 town, so you can purchase common goods up to level 4, all level 3 common consumables, and some magic items if you are looking for them.

Samael Doulen |

I think the rune transfer was the main thing I want to do. Probably save most of my share of the sold loot to make sure I can afford a striking rune ASAP.
Same here.

Stom Flintheart |

Anyone still pondering changes to the party inventory before we go sell everything marked for sale?
Also, how have you handled cleaning up that sheet after liquidating? Just delete the rows?

GM Cody |

lol sorry mb, this intricately carved silver holy symbol has been made with such fine craftmanship, and remarkably pure silver, it is actually worth 8 gp.

Stom Flintheart |

I created a separate tab in the party inventory that is filtered down to just the loot to sell and the cash/gems.
Selling all of that results in each party member receiving 40gp, 8sp, 3cp (rounding up slightly).
Plus, the 25gp from the birds.
@GM Cody, feel free to check my math, etc.

Violant Turra |

And if you need a reduced-cost way to craft Alchemist Fire's, Violant would be happy to assist. She'll probably take up the role of party crafter admittedly.

GM Cody |

sounds good to me, gives each person 65 gp, 8 sp and 3 cp?
Thrower's Bandolier seems like a good item, for a guy that throws things. Nifty it can impart the runes onto any thrown weapons, that way you aren't totally show horned into just daggers/handaxes/darts etc.
Are you guys holding onto the +1 Kukri and +1 Scorpion Whip to transfer the runes at a later day? I noticed on the inventory sheet they are still listed as available.
