Another thing to consider: What would people have fun describing failing at?

I would have a lot of fun with cat herding. Probably tug-of-war and battlefield conditions. Maybe medicine and possibly insults.

Let's go tug of war and everyone fails with nat 1s, then their strength would be so overwhelming that they'd throw us flying over their heads like a whip, and when we fall behind them, we take advantage of the momentum to pull them all back and make them fall! Thus winning the competition!

(or maybe actually fail, i dunno)

But for real, all of them could be made into a fun roleplaying fail.
Perhaps the most detrimental would be not hugging the cat and letting the mock patient die.

The board eats posts from time to time...

I reissued chronicles for 02-11 and corrected the submission to Paizo. I forgot to correct the date on rpgchronicles. Basically, to move to the 2nd page you need everything filled out on the 1st page, including the date. I had the Game date set to 30 June 2023. When I reported, it used that date. Since Paizo apparently doesn't have a time machine, it appears to have allowed the date to stand...

Oh and here are the rules on Familiar Skill Abilities:

Familiar Skill Abilities:
Source Core Rulebook pg. 217 4.0 wrote:
Your familiar's save modifiers and AC are equal to yours before applying circumstance or status bonuses or penalties. Its Perception, Acrobatics, and Stealth modifiers are equal to your level plus your spellcasting ability modifier (Charisma if you don't have one, unless otherwise specified). It can't make Strikes, but it can use trained skill actions for skills for which it adds your spellcasting ability modifier. If it attempts an attack roll or other skill check, it uses your level as its modifier. It doesn't have or use its own ability modifiers and can never benefit from item bonuses.

You start with three from being a Witch familiar. Then get more as the Witch levels up.

Quote:
Your patron has sent you a familiar, a mystical creature that teaches you and facilitates your spells. This familiar follows the rules here, though as it's a direct conduit between you and your patron, it's more powerful than other familiars. Your familiar gains an extra familiar ability, and gains another extra ability at 6th, 12th, and 18th levels.

And you can switch out which abilities you get each morning. You don't have to pick a set and stick with it permanently.

Though I will also mention that Skilled ability only gives one skill each time you take it. So Skilled(Crafting, Medicine) is two abilities.

If my assumptions and calculations are correct.

4x 1 point quests: Somewhere below, Boom town betrayal, Port Peril pub crawl, and Cat's Cradle.
Then Pathfinder Trials for 4 points.
And now Swordlord's Challenge for 4 points.

Level 1 is the new level 2. In D&D3.5/PF1 days I would always want to start at level 2 because the difference between level 1 and 2 was such a big jump.
