Sure... so we're looking at Cath, then Ashun, then Loompecker to GM next? :)
Aww yiss
dis gon b gudEven though I've been GMing 5e since 2015 and have dabbled in Savage Worlds and Storyteller, it's always kinda scary to try GMing different systems. But experience never comes if you never try new stuff out
I guess I should make my GM alias soon then

I will need some help for the technical elements, for the maps for example.
What do you need?
GM Tiger |
The set up of the maps. The teaching how to do it. This kind of things
That's easy - do you have a google account?
Corabee Cori |
And a pdf image extractor to get the maps. I use Linux and I don't think the extractor software I use is available elsewhere. So unless you are also using Linux...
But once the map is extracted from the pdf, make a slideshow in google documents and set the map as the background of one of the slides.
GM Tiger |
ilovepdf.com is what I use to extract the images.
Bee - what distro you using?
Corabee Cori |
I use Arch Linux. I'm a hands-on kind of user. I used Gentoo for several years, but switched away from that because I am not that much of a glutton for punishment.
Corabee Cori |
I wish it was more mainstream here. I don't know why people still pay for MS Windows any more. And it would be really nice if it was possible to buy a new pre-built computer hardware without it preinstalled (and therefore with price included).
I'm running Ubuntu at work too.
GM Tiger |
Oh sorry. I meant that I'm pretty much using mainstream distros. My setup at work uses Linux as the underlying OS running VMWare. But we're a Windows house -- mainly because our enterprise software is Windows based and it would be excruciating to switch over... Clients are Windows PCs but my file servers are all running Ubuntu server... :)
(watches everyone else's eyes glaze over while Tiger and Bee talk shop) :)
Ashun |
Although I love Linux, having used Unix and Ubuntu in the past, I like playing games without checking if they are compatible and avoiding jumping through hoops if they are not :p

Did I misread and had to do diplomacy before sense motive and then try to do something else? D:
I thought it was sense motive and then try fun stuff instead of diplomacy

That is how I read it too. Sense Motive is also somewhat optional - it is for gaining access to the information in the spoiler. Though without that, it would only be obvious that Diplomacy would be helpful for the challenge. Though after some of us succeeded at it and practically announced in-game a particular other option, there is certainly a case to be made for allowing a better skill attempt.

I'll get a post in a few hours. Currently in training for work.

Basically the king wants you to play along (which is what you would have learned had the roll been a crit).

I just got done turning in a complicated outline. And now I am poking my head out and trying to catch up with all my PBPs!

Hands Bamidele a stick.
Go on a poking spree, you deserve it!

Is this the new "Mumble Mumble NDA??"
GM Tiger |
I'll move you along later today. I thought Egg and Bitty were going to put in an appearance... :)
GM Tiger |
Don't you have Wayfinders? You automatically get one after playing 2 adventures (well, it's an AcP boon, but it costs 0 AcP to get).
Wayfinders come with a "built-in" light spell.
Corabee Cori |

?? Wayfinder
The Archaic Wayfinder can have a cantrip cast into it by a spellcaster. Which becomes a single-use activation to re-cast the cantrip.
Lanni Talimbi |
Maybe you are thinking of the PF1 Wayfinder?
Corabee Cori |
OK. I figured it out. Trying to match up what people are saying with what I am reading. A Wayfinder has a Command activation line down there at the bottom of its description.
And I vaguely remember someone mentioning getting a Wayfinder at some point early in this bounty/quest run, but I can't find the post now. It took quite a bit of searching in order to find the boon mentioned in the list of boons though.
I'm assuming that people have already complained that the interface for the boon system is rather opaque.

I thought it was something to buy! I was saving up for one after getting the armor I was looking at. Well then, is it alright if I add that as well to my gear now, or shall I wait for after the current adventure?

Wait for after... like all equipment you wish you had when you needed it! :)
GM Tiger |
I think you can simply « remember » you have one with you.
Cath Gerbaine |
Power has been out for 12ish hours at the house. I'll be finding a place in a few more hours to escape the heat.
GM Tiger |
Ugh! Take care of yourself first! You're not helping anyone if you get heatstroke...

Nope, I'm keeping cool at various places while the issue gets fixed.

Gosh, I would love to do so. I know that Shifty keeps wishing that I would visit.

update tomorrow. Sorry - just got through 3 hours of training and I'm beat... Basically preparing for another martial arts promotion exam in December... Monk Lvl 3... :)
Ashun |
I bet Tiger is too badass and already way past level 20, but he has to sync down his skills to the level of the others <3 ;p
In all honesty though, it is very impressive! Rest well, take care
Corabee Cori |
The only classes that get wild empathy by level 2 are Druids that get it automatically at level 1, and Rangers that can get it with their level 2 class feat. Everyone else has to wait until level 4 and can get it from a couple of archetypes.
So I think the old fashioned way is the only option we have.

I find that it works better to use the zoom menu from the toolbar at the top. Undo, Redo, Print, Paint format, Zoom, Zoom menu pulldown arrow
From that, I pick 100% and then use the zoom in / zoom out as needed.
But that is what works for me. Perhaps there are other settings on either your computer, or your google slides settings that are making it behave differently.

Still without power at home, so I am utilizing work resources to their fullest!

Hey all --
I am going roll back a statement that I made about Esoteric Lore not being suitable for day job checks. There are subtle differences between it and bardic lore, and the question, 'Can Esoteric Lore be used for earned income?' is a grey area that is currently the realm of GM call. I tend to hang out with VOs, who tend to treat any grey area with the narrowest and least-player friendly interpretation of rules, and so I absorbed the idea that Esoteric Lore was not suitable for day job checks from that crowd.
There is at least one other class (the inventor) who has an auto-scaling earn income roll with their best stat, so it's not even out of line for what other classes get.
The real answer is that no one knows for certain, and that if a GM rules that they are suitable for earned income, they are. And if a GM rules that they are not suitable for earned income, they are not. If you are okay with table variation, check with your GM for their ruling on this matter.
Hmm
