Added another Campaign trait: "Orchestra"
Ardax White Hair has beaten Tar-Baphon, he will clobber Baphomet next!
Did you know that the syllable "Baph" means Noodle Arm in Orcish?
Also, kicking the Demons arse, thus attaining legitimacy as a great power, gaining the Kellids as vasalls and grabbing a possible trade route to filthy rich Alyushinyrra are pretty good political power moves.
Kul'Theraka
|
Kul's background could be adapted to fit the homebrew traits as well, particularly the first.
The Tetori monk gets unarmed strike and as a bonus feat improved grapple. Both are covered by the unarmed combatant in EITR. Is it a wash or do I get another feat? I assumed it would be a bonus feat from the Monk list to replace improved grapple.
Hit points: 2d8 ⇒ (8, 1) = 9 I believe that is 8 and 4.
Mercedes Acidinus
I'd like to present Mercedes Acidinus, Oracle of the Godclaw and Hellknight Signifer in-training.
I'm not great at handling the aliases yet, but the MythWeavers sheet should be complete. Is her background, found there, detailed enough?
TLDR - Mercedes is a stone-cold b****, Lawful Evil, worships Asmodeus (and reveres the Godclaw), intends to be in the middle of melee dishing out punishment to anything [Chaotic], and admires the cruelty and focus of Erinyes Devils. She's not nice, but she is trustworthy...enough.
@LiliyashaninaIf you agree that the Hellknight Signifer is a somewhat lackluster PrC, I'd like to discuss some improvements to the class, especially as it's somewhat schizophrenic and trying to be two classes in one (arcane and divine). If we could discuss how to make some class features work (for example, Mercedes will get Alignment Channel at level 1, in spite of not having Channel Energy...) and give the class something fun at the levels that are all about arcane spellcasters I would be very happy!
I hope everyone likes/enjoys-hating Mercedes!

Sounds great! I'm definitely in business. Whatever class my character takes, by nature it will be a cultist of Nocticula, worshipping her in her future Redeemed form. I think that he/she arrived as a preacher in these lands, but was not understood by the Crusaders. Well... This is not a reason to leave and retreat.
Wyniess Morgethai
@Liliyashanina: A question about qualifying for the Plausibly Deniable and First World, Last Word traits. How close to the traits' fluff does a character need to be to qualify?
For example, Wyniess is a member of an outside organization, she's a Kyonin Ranger. Close enough for Plausibly Deniable? She has an employer involved in military pursuits, but it is not a mercenary company.
First World, Last Word requires "Have a degree of Fae influences". Does this mean a class ability, trait, or feat that involves Fey in some way? Background involving Fey?
Liliyashanina
@Everyone:
Concernign the background traits:
Background will typically suffice. The traits are meant to represent "ins" for factions normally not particularly likely to assist a crusade, while also being genuinely good picks.
Hell being obviously the possible patron for "hells rejects", the Fae being the patron for "First World Last word", Hold of Belkzen and more enthusiastic Kellids being Patrons, so to speak, for "Orchestra".
Entities with a focus on assassination (hi Ekatn) for "Stabbing contest"
Things like Technik leauge, Aspsis consortium etc. being the support behind "plausibly deniable".
As you accumulate well, clout by your deeds, escalating levels of support can become available. I would like the storytelling to be cooperative, for example, for first world last word, write down some details of the Fae (probably at least a Leanansidhe powerwise) you have an agreement with.
Wyniess Morgethai
Um, so is that a "yes" or a "no" regarding Wyniess and Plausibly Deniable?
I'd characterize Kyonin as considering the Mendevian Crusade to be an allied effort, and Kyonin is running it's own insular little anti-demon crusade in the Tanglebriar. But Kyonin is also not inclined to materially support the Mendevian Crusade since it is otherwise occupied.
I will assume "yes" until told "no".
Wyniess Morgethai
Cool cool. I could also see the desire for deniability being reversed, with Kyonin wanting it the most. If Kyonin is discovered to be meddling in the Worldwound, it may piss off the demon lords there enough for them to decide to return the favor in the Tanglebriar.
Demons aren't known for mutual goodwill and cooperation so it might not be a likely response. Treerazor is not in good standing in the Abyss. But Kyonin is a paranoid kind of place in some ways. It could easily conclude any risk at all is too much risk.
EDIT: Also the deeper reason her backstory imples for why Wyniess is in Mendev is to get rid of her for a while. The Rangers don't want to boot her out, and they don't want her in the Tanglebriar for a good long time. Kyonin's leadership might see some value in the exchange, but mostly it's about getting Wyniess out of sight and out of mind.
Nikolaus de'Shade
I might just throw in the genuinely LG paladin then... possibly a very long suffering crusader who still believes in the true good, but understands that sometimes they have to not ask too many questions in pursuit of said good.
Basically Superman leading the Suicide Squad right?
If I were to play a Temple Champion could I take the Redemption Inquisition rather than the domain/blessings? If I got the first ability at 4, the second at 5 and the third at 11 as in the blessings feature, would that be reasonable?
If not I can figure out something else. :)
Karga Blackhook
@Lilyashanina How would an Inquisitor of Calistira fair? Karga is an enforcer of the church, and after one rather violent affair dispatching those that threatened a temple, she has been set away in a form repentance to fight the demons that pour out of world wound, to avenge those that perished from such tragedy.
Aurical
I'm thinking Aurical was taken as a slave when his tribe got raided, and then was bought in Mendev by a cleric of Abadar. Worked off his purchase price, and being as OCD as most kobolds are he took up the religion. Plus, it pays well.
Good guy kobold after an enlistment bonus who has to deal with the suicide squad. Trying to reign them in with a negative CMB. ^_^
Liliyashanina
Iiiinteresting, so this is a homebrew campaign taking place concurrently with events in Wrath of the Righteous? Really cool campaign idea.
I'll mull some stuff over.
It is wrath of the righteous, I intend for the "actual mythically righteous" party to partly be foils (although some of them will be more sympathethic then others). I need to change surprisingly little in the first 2 acts for this to work. It arguably even makes more sense then as written, because Galfrey is throwing her "plausibly deniables" and not her "main heroic assets" at normally suicidal quests (which are normally done by the main party).
@Karga Callistria would do fine. I think I even have a Callistrian fixer NPC you may enjoy interfacing with.
Liliyashanina
Nope, go nuts.
It will probably not be as light hearted as my Kobold Paladin of Apsus antics.
Sahala Love
STORY
"It seems that the sermon failed," Sahala mused in the cold casemate belonging to the Inquisition of Iomedae, chained hand and foot. Tomorrow she will be burned at the pyre. "The guys will have to tinker a little, I'm not burning as well as they would like." She smiled, but then sighed sadly. Surely she's not the first tiefling they've burned alive. They'll figure it out.
Sahala was remembering what had brought her here. Her dreams, where the magnificent and formidable Goddess of Midnight rises above the palaces and minarets of a violet-purple metropolis, spread out on an island in the middle of the black sea under a huge full moon. This Goddess rises up, through the moonlight, somewhere to purity and tranquility and calls her, Sahala, the rejected tiefling, with her.
Sahala recalled how her scorpio first appeared - right after she decided that her dreams were not just dreams, and she should tell the world about the new Goddess, and even better, help this Goddess ascend. Scorpio came to her by himself. She woke up and he was just on the pillow next to her head, but she wasn't scared. She gave him the name Kesha. For some reason, Sahala was sure that this creature was a messenger. And she wasn't wrong.
She couldn't talk to him, but she could feel his emotions and especially his approval. She felt it when she first started looking for forbidden folios about Nocticula. When she first carved the sacred symbol of Our Lady in the Shadows herself. When she decided to go to Mendev and call on the crusaders to know this new Goddess.
Sahala still didn't think it was a mistake, even if the Crusaders didn't understand it. Yes, she is in chains, yes she will be burned as a demon worshipper and half a demon… But still, there was no sense of error.
And then... the door opened, and someone new entered the cell. The Queen has an offer for you, witch. You can save your life and serve the Crusade.
MECHANICS
Sahala Love - Witch with a Seducer archetype. She specializes in enchantments, and her main stat is not intelligence but charisma. Her familiar has an Emissary archetype, which literally says that it is the messenger of a certain deity (Nocticula). Sahala is also a tiefling and has of course demonic (succubus) roots.
We can play a little with who exactly her patron turns out to be. Perhaps it's even the ancestor from whom she inherited her abyssal blood. I'd leave it up to the GM - it might turn out to be an interesting plot move.
I also took her a class option Unique Patron (Infernal Contract), which says that she literally made a deal with someone from the Abyss, kindly giving her soul. So every morning she starts by sacrificing some of her own blood to the Nocticula right above her unholy symbol. Again, I don't think she should necessarily understand who it is - just some force from the Midnight Islands, which is loyal to Nocticula so much that it participates in the plan for Her ascension.
That's all. The character is completely ready, it remains only to choose spells. HP: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
I will look forward to your decision!
With best wishes,
- ‘Eκάτη

IIRC that's because EitP just has a "Weapon Proficiency" Feat that just gives you everything in a single Fighter weapon group, so you can just snap up the Heavy Blades group and get both.
I'm not 100% sure how that interacts with "tiered proficiency" weapons like the katana and bastard sword who get extra benefits for having EWP though.
Mercedes Acidinus
As the little man muttered in embarrassment and shame she stood stoically until he gathered his composure. Once he had directed her to a nearby sergeant she strode over purposefully, her heavy armor clanking heavily as she moved. It was impossible to doubt her affiliation (Hellknight) and the polished black steel reflected the cloudy afternoon light with a mirror-like sheen. Mercedes knew she was intimidating and that was how she liked it.
The sergeant had to look up at her, something that made her smile internally (though her lips never moved from her perpetual sneer). "That man needs to correction," she says, gesturing at the guard. "As his superior I intend to hold you responsible. Have him cleaned up the next time I see you both or I will ensure you are whipped bloody. My healing magic will prevent your death, but it will hurt and you will both learn the consequences of letting yourselves fail in your duties. Do you understand?" she asks, tilting her head down at him to accentuate her imposing height over the shorter man. He nodded before gulping and escorting her to the Post Commander, a junior officer who couldn't have seen as much combat in his life as Mercedes.
However, she nodded her head respectfully to the man - a worshipper of Sarenrae by his uniform - and then presented her papers. Standing silently at a vigilant at-ease Mercedes waited for him to read her orders. When he was done he looked at her and scratched his head - so far the only sign he wasn't fully in control of himself she'd seen. "A Hellknight Signifer in-training, able to heal or fight on the frontline...trustworthy, stern, and capable...I know just where you're needed, Armiger Acidinus. Requests for capable and versatile warriors have been sent and you are a worthy fit. You will be going to Kenabres, to a redoubt named Defender's Heart. The city has been largely destroyed by a major demonic offensive and the Crusade has secured an inn as their base of operations. You will be given directions by my quartermaster, along with some supplies, and leave as soon as you are able. They need you there yesterday. Any questions?" he asked as he wrote an addendum to her orders, stamped them, and signed them with a quill pen at his desk.
For the first time in many days Mercedes nearly smiled. "No, Sir, no questions. You are wise to recognize my value. I recommend you get your post in the same condition as your judgement - right now it does not reflect you well," she says as she turns to go.
"You b****! How dare you?" she heard behind her head.
"...Because you know it is true, and because I can," she said with a hungry smile he couldn't see. "Hold the line against the demonic hordes, sir. You have potential..."
Then, as the Commander spluttered behind her, Mercedes stepped out of the room to find the Quartermaster. She still had some distance to go if she was to arrive 'yesterday' and didn't intend to wait. Besides, this post was likely doomed to failure if the Commander didn't get his ego out of the way and she had no intent to be here to see it fall. There was more she could do at Defender's Heart and she was eager to begin.
I'm not sure these are needed/desired, but I felt inspired after reading Sahala's story. Hope this gives an idea of what can be expected from Mercedes and that you enjoy reading it!

Tiered proficiency weapons are still a thing due to Class proficiencies. So if you take levels in a class which gives you proficiency in all martial weapons, you are good to go with a bastard sword in two hands, but will suffer non-proficiency penalties if you try to use it one-handed. Once you buy EitR's Weapon Proficiency, though, then you should be fine either way.
Sapphire Aurora
INTRODUTION
The dead flesh rotted in the hot sun. They were dead, all of them. The group had headed out into the desert 4 weeks before. Knights, clerics, looters, and others seeking bounty and fame. They had lost the 1st member, a young man well fitted out but in the expanse of canyons and ravines that served as a direct planar connection between Golarion and the Abyss, he had bent to look at a strange plant, the earth had popped up and swallowed him whole. Such is the life in the Worldwound now she was looking at the last one of them. Dead because its food ran out. Sapphire kicked the coups. To check its death then she walks off. Picking up speed she started to run, the land was dead mostly. It reminded her of the desert she had been found in. Her Andriod vat smashed open and scavengers pulling her out. They had thought she was inactive but her programming had kicked in and they had bled. Going back to her birth cell. She had pulled out her equipment and checked it. Most of it was dead, it was then she worked out that she had been underground for a very long time. Only later did she find out just how long. And her mother craft was long broken and dead. So she was alone so in this unknown world survival meant work. Her skills had a price and so she had made a life. Years passed and she ended up here, in a place where hell meets the world. The coin was good, take greenhorns out to the desert and try to keep them alive. This time they had been too dumb to live. Her contract was fulfilled she kept running and was soon back at the keep.
"Where's the res of you?"
"Dead, the wound got them"
The guard let her in, and she made her way to the small food stand and ol d Will.
"Your back early" Old Will observed.
"They were stupid"
She took a seat and looked over his street food.
"I need another contract, anyone asking?"
he checked.
"You know I only keep you around because you don't eat my stock"
"No you keep me around because I can cover the stand for you all night."
"True Sapphy, but the real reason I keep you around is the fact you always speak your mind. You never wash you words with honey. Its always just as it is."
She looked over at him.
"Contact or not?'
He held up a scroll. Taking it she opened it and took as a glance. Putting it away, she looked under his stall, where she kept a lock box. She Restocked her backpack and locked it again.
"Got to see a man about a skilling. This is for you, and I need more arrows."
She handed him a small bag of coins, turned and ran off.
Benedict Daxos
Offering Ben Daxos, a virtuous bravo paladin who is nothing like the knights in shining armor the crusades know best, but who still tries to do a little good in the world.
He's inspired by Sharpe (which I have read) and Gaunt's Ghosts (which I haven't properly).
Hopefully he's the right kind of guy to lead a black-ops team and maybe, just maybe, lead a few of them into the light at the same time!
Benedict Daxos
Benedict Daxos, I have put you down as someone Sapphire knows in her background is that ok..?
Sure thing - I tried to set Ben up so anyone who's been around the crusades a while and is somewhat morally gray might know him (for better [he's such a good guy] or worse [damn dogooder!])

@ Storm Dragon
yes they can
Also, I am having a lot of fun writing Ardax White hair (who received some power ups, and has little to do with his canonical stats). At least as much fun as the guy writing the "Bear sphere" for spheres of power.
He is mythic and has his own hilarious mythic abilities and can plausibly even teach them to others.
I am just going post this:
OmegORC mythic path abilities:
Oh no not again:
You may ignore the rule for summon spells that require that surface you summon a creature on be a valid target for its body and weight.
His abilities are not currently accessible, but some can probably guess where its going.
Mercedes Acidinus
@Liliyashanina - I think my question was lost in the shuffle. Can you speak to your thoughts here?
If you agree that the Hellknight Signifer is a somewhat lackluster PrC, I'd like to discuss some improvements to the class, especially as it's somewhat schizophrenic and trying to be two classes in one (arcane and divine). If we could discuss how to make some class features work (for example, Mercedes will get Alignment Channel at level 1, in spite of not having Channel Energy...) and give the class something fun at the levels that are all about arcane spellcasters I would be very happy!
Liliyashanina
Yep, got lost.
Proposal:
The following are class features of the Hellknight signifer prestige class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Hellknight signifer gains proficiency with heavy armor and with one of his order’s favored weapons (see Order on page 93).
Aura of Law (Ex): A Hellknight signifer’s lawful aura (see the detect law spell) functions as that of a cleric whose level is equal to the Hellknight signifer’s character level.
Catechesis (Ex): If a Hellknight signifer has the Warrior Priest feat, his class level stacks with other divine spellcasting classes for determining the effects of those classes’ domain powers, inquisitions, and mysteries. This doesn’t grant any new powers or abilities. In addition, a Hellknight signifer with the Warrior Priest feat gains Alignment Channel (chaos) as a bonus feat, and treats his Hellknight signifer levels as cleric levels when determining the amount of damage healed or dealt and saving throw DCs of his channeled energy.
Combat casting: An arcane focused Signifier gains Combat casting when he would get Catechesis.
Order: A Hellknight signifer chooses a Hellknight order to join at 1st level. The most common Hellknight orders (and their favored weapon or weapons) are: Chain (flail), Gate (dagger), Godclaw (morningstar), Nail (halberd or lance), Pyre (glaive), Rack (longsword or whip), and Scourge (heavy mace or whip).
Signifer Mask (Su): Upon initiation, a Hellknight signifer receives a mask, often devoid of eyeholes or other personal features. This mask doesn’t obscure the Hellknight signifer’s vision, and while wearing it he gains a +2 competence bonus on Sense Motive checks and on saving throws against spells and abilities that rely on visual effects.
A Hellknight signifer with a bonded object from the arcane bond class feature can perform a special ritual that costs 500 gp and takes 8 hours to complete. This ritual converts the Hellknight signifer’s mask into his new bonded object, which takes up the head slot. In this case, his Hellknight signifer levels stack with levels from the class that grants the arcane bond for determining what additional magical abilities can be added to the bonded object.
I think this is fine
Arcane Armor Expertise (Ex): At 2nd level, if a Hellknight signifer has the Arcane Armor Training feat, he gains Arcane Armor Mastery as a bonus feat. At 5th level, the action required to use this feat changes from a swift action to a free action.
If you already have this Arcane armor mastery at this point, pick an appropriate combat feat that you gain instead. You get to use Arcane armor mastery as free action at level 5. If you have mythic arcane armor training at this point I will allow you to retrain out of mythic arcane armor training, if you so desire, when you reach signifier level 5
Signifer Armor Training (Ex): At 3rd level, while a Hellknight signifer wears Hellknight armor, he reduces the armor check penalty by 1 (to a minimum of 0), and reduces the arcane spell failure chance by 5%. At 8th level, he reduces his armor check penalty by an additional 1, and reduces his arcane spell failure by an additional 5%. Additionally, at 8th level, when a Hellknight signifer’s speed is reduced by wearing medium or heavy armor, his unique training decreases the speed reduction by 5 feet.
This is fine as well
Assiduous Gaze: At 4th level and again at 7th level, a Hellknight signifer gains an assiduous gaze ability chosen from the list below. A Hellknight signifer can use each assiduous gaze ability he has for a number of rounds per day equal to half his class level. These rounds need not be consecutive. A Hellknight signifer can activate an assiduous gaze ability as a swift action to examine a single creature, object, or 5-foot square within 30 feet. A Hellknight signifer must be wearing his signifer mask to use these abilities, and his caster level while using the ability is equal to his character level.
Elucidation (Su): The Hellknight signifer can discern each active spell on the target, including the spell’s effect and caster level.
Morality (Sp): The Hellknight signifer can determine whether the target is chaotic, evil, good, or lawful, as well as the strength of its aura as if he had studied it for 3 rounds using detect chaos, detect evil, detect good, and detect law.
Scrutiny (Su): The Hellknight signifer can discern whether the target has spell-like abilities or spellcasting abilities; whether any spellcasting abilities are arcane, divine, or psychic; and the strength (see detect magic) of the most powerful spell or spell-like ability the target currently has available.
Veracity (Sp): The Hellknight signifer can observe the target as if using true seeing. A Hellknight signifer must be 7th level to select this ability.
Vigilance (Su): The Hellknight signifer can see through up to 5 feet of stone, wood, or similar barriers as if they didn’t exist. This effect cannot penetrate metal of any kind.
Discern Lies (Sp): At 6th level, a Hellknight signifer can use discern lies as a spell-like ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. His caster level is equal to his total character level.
Infernal Resilience (Ex): At 9th level, a Hellknight signifer gains DR 5/chaotic and becomes immune to poison.
Diabolic Harbinger (Su): At 10th level, as long as a Hellknight signifer wears his signifer mask, he gains telepathy with a range of 100 feet and can see perfectly in both magical and mundane darkness. While wearing his signifer mask, he is immune to blindness and dazzling effects, and gains a +2 bonus on all Charisma-based checks when interacting with lawful creatures. This bonus increases to +4 if the creature is also an outsider.
