Ooh that sounds cool. Can you use it on the horse pulling the cart? If that got us a few extra downtime days when we returned, that would be worth a few dozen gold.

Okay well in either case its either 2 horses pulling a single wagon or 2 horses pulling two carts. I have not figure out which we are actually implementing as both were proposed.

Theoretically in about half the time -- as I doubt there are any "highways" between here and there but there might be.


Travel by horse, without magical help is 3 days…so I will say in theory about 1-1.5 days to potentially find the mystery structure.

Well either something gets in here often enough to provide food for those spiders or they some how can put themselves into some sort of time stasis.

I have always looked at some modules and said okay so you have this living creature that has been sealed inside this ancient tomb that no one or thing has entered in decades or centuries even -- so please explain to my analytical mind how it survived.

I mean seriously what did it eat, what did it do with its waste, and the various other questions that all center around an ecological system which is required to sustain life as we know it.

Sadly of course as you read the rest of the module you quickly learn that no there is nothing within this anceint tomb that would allow it to sustain life. And yet there it is as big as... well... life as we know it.

Now I understand dragons for at least they sort of hibernate for long periods of time but most of the other living creatures -- absolutley no explanation as to how they stayed alive

*coughs* "Excuse me" and steps off the soap box ;-)


Remember…this is only the first floor of ‘X’ floors so…I burn the soapbox for now and if needed will buy you a new one lol

No problem will love to see how the ecology works within this tower and I did not say you did not have one -- I was just referencing a lot of the modules produced over the years always seemed to over look this rather small but very important concept.

Aka it harkens back to the "You find an orc guarding a chest in a 10 ft by 10 ft room." Okay so this raises questions or should such as, why is he here, why is he guarding the chest, who is he guarding the chest for, etc... fairly obvious questions that absolutely never get answered because there was no answer just whimsical placement of monsters, traps, and treasure.

It became one of the main reasons that I never ran a canned module because as I went through from I would ask myself the fairly obvious and not so obvious questions (because players will do this from time to time) and then I would make sure there was an answer. Now that answer was not always obvious but it was there if the group asked and then sought that answer.

Sort of like that bibilical verse applied to a game -- Ask and it (the question) will be given unto you, seek and you shall find (the answer), knock and the door (of knowledge) will be opened. -- kind-of-thing ;-)

Just FYI, I have a new baby arriving any day now. I probably won't drop 100% off the map but I will be a lot less frequent, maybe without notice, for a couple weeks.

Okay I have to say this is one weird tower the stairs on the first floor were in the center of the circle but when we get up to the 2nd floor they come out along the northern edge. Further the diameter of the building increased by 5 feet

I will say that the stairs could start in the middle and then wind to a side between floors. But the larger floor layout is odd.

Well upon them giving us the repeater Zen'Zot would hand-over (or offer) his crossbow to the lizardman especailly since he did not understand a word that was said.


The lizardfolk will accept the offer of your crossbow.

GM, would you be ok with changing the order of the slides so that the current battle map is at or near the top after the table of contents? It usually takes me an extra minute or two to determine which slide is our current battle map.
