Here is where I would like you to place any purchases and discuss tactics if they are too drawn out for the game play thread.

Hello.

Guys, i'd like your thoughts on something.

I'm thinking of purchasing a flask of everflowing smoke, to help with cover. With our recent experience, it looks very appealing to me.

Yet also to set up opportunity for sneak attacks, hopefully forcing the enemy to waste movement getting out, for our melee to pummel them into submission.

A good investment, or useful only sometimes?

VC - Sydney, Australia

As just experienced, cover goes two ways. Ninja can't attack foes with concealment (unless you have built in a way to do so - eg shadowstrike) but this totally obscures vision.

I reckon it is a nah, it will be too situational, we just need to ensure everyone has a decent missile weapon (to avoid more flying problems) - or this time we can just throw a flying/hasted/smiting Pally at things now we have a Wizzy.

You could set up something like this with a Goz Mask and a wand of Obscuring Mist that might help, would allow you to run around in the mist and be protected but not hampered.

HP: 61/61, AC 23/23/23, F+5, R+15, W+4, speed 40ft, Perception +10, init +9, Darkvision 60ft, low light vision, scent

That was the general idea. :)

A question regarding retraining,

It was my intention to retrain 2 things, namely the Dodge feat and Mobility feat, the latter is acquired through ninja trick.

Those two are prerequisites to both Spring Attack, and Shadow Dancer.
Retraining class features mentions: The class feature you wish to retrain can’t be one that you used as a prerequisite for a feat, class feature, archetype, prestige class, or other ability. You must retrain those elements separately before you can retrain this class feature.

Both feats are prerequisites for both Spring Attack and Shadow Dancer, but i could re-acquire both with 1 level in a specific fighter archetype.

I don't suppose it is possible to retrain before taking that level, given the retraining mentioned above?

VC - Sydney, Australia

You would need to take the level dip in Fighter and pick up that Archetype first (which would give you the pre-reqs for those abilities), then retrain and pay your 10 Prestige (5 for the feat, 5 for the class feature).

HP: 61/61, AC 23/23/23, F+5, R+15, W+4, speed 40ft, Perception +10, init +9, Darkvision 60ft, low light vision, scent

Purchases (small list for the chronicle)

Paying with 4 prestige for: wand of Mage armor (CL 1), wand of obscuring mist (CL 1).

That leaves me 28 Prestige.

Paying with money, starting wealth 33.645 gp, 5 sp.
Polymorphic pouch 5000 gp
Goz mask 8000 gp
Ring of eloquence: Common, Dwarven, Elven, Sylvan 3500 gp
Corpse puppet 250 gp
RoP upgrade +1 to +2 6000 gp
Belt of incredible dexterity +2 4000 gp

Money left: 6.895,5

(Moving this to Discussion.)

She's playing a kitsune rogue, and took the not-PFS-legal racial option that gives her Fox Shape at level 1. She discovered she really likes being in fox form and plans to spend pretty much all of her dungeon-delving time that way. So we're both looking at options.

A pity it isn't possible to use a wand with paws, or Toral would be in for quite a surprise. The ring of eloquence provides speech and understanding...but it also has dwarven as a built in language. ;)

Could always just have a conversation with Philthy, don't need a translator.

Fox, I have no idea about adjusting costs for tiny size.

I can find adjustments for armor and weapons. They are adjusted for cost and weight. Goods just seem to be adjusted for weight only as I see in the core book. I looked through the Paizo FAQ yesterday and did not find anything that answered your cost question. I will look in the ultimate equipment today, but I am not confident I can find anything.

VC - Sydney, Australia

The RAW only adjusts rations down for Small creatures - same price, but 1/4 weight (and containers 1/4 capacity).

Source - so Small is the best you could do per PFS unless someone can located RAW for Tiny.

It's not a great issue, GM.
Mere curiosity.

Hindsight, it probably follows something akin to the new pouch i have.

The Polymorphic Pouch remains in my shape shifted form, i assume shrunk to fit the new size. While a wand is arguably thin enough for a pouch's opening (a jeans' pocket opening, likely?), a waterskin more likely would need to have shrunk to fit that opening.

Edit, this ninja got ninja'd by the ninja GM.

VC - Sydney, Australia

I see we are all liking the 'Haste & Fireball' party times! - enjoying pulling my Wizzy back out :)

VC - Sydney, Australia

Two of these people are currently blind (including their leader) so only two targets can be affected by the pattern, as long as you are cool with that...!

VC - Sydney, Australia

Blue is blind and prone - sounds like a candidate for FOXY-DEATH!

HP: 61/61, AC 23/23/23, F+5, R+15, W+4, speed 40ft, Perception +10, init +9, Darkvision 60ft, low light vision, scent

1st, it's friday evening, huzzah!

GM, you asked we mention relevant topics about being unconscious/asleep and becoming prone in discussion, related post.

VC - Sydney, Australia

If we can get green down then all good, otherwise we're stuck in a fire, which is ok for Laishi and I (Laishi 5 resist fire, Philthy has resist energy 10), but gonna suck for Walla.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Philthy Buff routine and dungeon exploring standard operating procedure post

I assume I cant melee around those oddly shaped walls, so waiting on Walla, if she can get green down I have a gap to get into and can go to work with my axe.

Awesome work Toral!

Grand Lodge

Thanks for the reminder post. I had lost track of those preparations. You should not have taken the 6 damage from the wall the first round. I will correct that.

VC - Sydney, Australia

All good :)

When I play roguey types in PbP games I try provide a single post with as much info and 'the game plan' as possible. Allows everyone to act cohesively, tracks buffs, and gives the GM something to work with. I even include markings on the map to follow.

I learnt this the hard way in Godsmouth Heresy - eg the 'Dungeon of a million doors'

Grand Lodge

Currently traveling and not able to post. Should be back tomorrow night. Sorry for the delay.

I don't see anything that prevents you from using spring attack with a swim speed. You have the movement. Sounds like it works to me. Does the strength lose make you encumbered and loose movement? That is the only way I would see you not being allowed to spring attack.

Took some searching, but this thread's 2nd post answers it.

Looks that i have just enough speed to swim the distance and back. A benefit of having a 40ft base speed in this form.

VC - Sydney, Australia

I will be taking a short cruise holiday 27 June, back 01 July.
Not going to have any internet during that time (going to put my phone and gadgets in a drawer!).

With Walla offline Philthy will stay in the front line for the time being - I may cast a few AoE spells out to his front - so please dont get too far forward

But be careful!!

That’s was the last time that I was able to use a round trip with time hop to save someone. ;-)

VC - Sydney, Australia

Hopefully some defensively cast fireballs will help clear things up, that and they are stuck coming in one at a time might limit things.

Problem now is that we're also bottlenecked - we need to be able to back up so multiple people can hit them at the tunnel entrance like they were hitting Walla

Grand Lodge

Been busy with real world. Hope to be back to finish this by tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

I've come back from holidays to another emergency response to Floods and likely to be called out again (already doing the planning) - so MAY drop offline unexpectedly for a couple of days but SHOULD be ok.

Please let me know if I have an error I need to correct. Again, I really enjoyed this run. I hope you all did too.

I will leave the thread active for a few more days and hopefully get this reported.
