Thank you, with that fight out we have last conversation with the dragon and we are finishing book one. You will level up to 15, and I will post the situation with gold, we will probably go with what you found + lump sum to up you to reasonable level

GM, I am beginning level up today, as I have a moment to do so right now, and intend to seize it!

Hope that is okay.

Will leave the Wealth as it is until I hear from you.

By all means, go and level up, just let me know about the options as they can be meaningful.

Yes.
Math mostly done, just doing the picks, and soon perusing 8th rank spells...

Oh! This is the Legendary skill level!

I'm between Society and Thievery atm... the former has like 7 urban espionage skill feats attached to it, the latter might be useful for the party for breaking into anywhere...

Ditto, except that I have a full hour left of total solitude right now, and I'm going to get as far as I can.

I'm bumping Stealth to Legendary, and INT to +5, and picking up Survival. General feat is Robust Health, which should make Treat Wounds a little easier.

I can't find any 8th rank spells I really like, so I'm rolling Wall of Force over and Disintegrate.

All the wealth stuff will have to wait, I guess.

Ok, gold situaiton,

I went through posts nad updated the loot sheet. I calculated how much money it is all worth ~ 20 k

When I checked lump sum for new PC's: Rules difference between 15 and 14th lvl is 4.2 k per PC x 4 ~ 16 k gold. So 20 k is worth 25% more. I included the selling price of the items, So decide who wants to keep what. I skipped mundane things like: shurikens ;) sawtooth sabers, axes etc.

We will assume that items are available, but let me know what you want to buy, if it is particularly high level I want to be aware.

To be clear, are we being allowed to sell the unused items at full value? Because, otherwise, the unused items should be sold at half value, and the gold equivalent worth only ~10k.

No complaints, whatever the ruling is - I would see the reduced wealth as an appropriate penalty for not clearing the castle.

Comments on specific items:

mithral frying pan: I wish I had one of these in place of my cast iron pan at home, but Bulk doesn't seem to be a concern for us right now.

adamantine weapon: Can we fashion this into a weapon that we use?

+2 greater resilient armor: I think we should keep this and it should go to Ann, since she's going to be up front most of the time. Sien is supposed to be hopping around, although I haven't done a great job of that so far.

+2 greater striking weapon (2 separate runes): Does anyone not have one of these already? Does anyone want two? Sien doesn't have a backup weapon, so he'll advocate taking it instead of selling it at half price, but if we can sell them at full price, maybe the extra gold would be more valuable..

animated weapon rune: Sien can't use this with Spellstrike, so he'll opt out.

greater frost rune: This is probably better than Sien's impactful rune, so Sien will throw his hat in the ring (we can roll off if multiple people want it).

Assassin's skin: Ketsu-kiba is the only one wearing leather armor, and as I believe one cannot transfer property runes to named armor, she would have to decide whether the +2 greater resilient fundamental runes are better than the properties she has on her current armor.

Explorer's Yurt: I agree we should keep this in the group.

Masks of the Mantis: We should each take one, unless we've got something Perception-boosting already, and we can roll to see who gets the greater one - or we can give it to the person with the highest Perception.

extending weapon rune: This accomplishes the same thing as Sien's focus spell, so Sien will opt out.

wounding weapon runes: Sien will take one if the option is selling at half price, but it doesn't seem super integral.

+1 striking runes: Sien will take these at half price and pick up a backup weapon (bow).

blightburn resin: Sien will opt out.

Being a monk, Ann will skip the armor. Thanks for the thought, though.

Ann has Doubling Rings and a +2 Greater Striking Sawtooth Saber already, so she doesn't need another.

I think the greater mantis mask should go to the person with the highest Perception modifier who's willing to use it.

Wait, Hammid cannot use the Shuriken - if the poison can be transferred to crossbow bolts, he is interested.

Otherwise, nothing jumps out at me, and I mostly agree with Sien.

Thanks for doing the initial heavy lifting on the items.

I'd actually like the mithril frying pan, such an amusing item and not of huge value at our level.

Especially if Ann doesn't have any armor rune already they should certainty get the +2 greater resilient runes, which go fine on explorer's clothing.

The Assassin's skin is at least a little tempting (especially with only +2 Resilient here) when potentially going up against more fellow Red Mantis, but I think I want to keep my Dread and Invisibility runes.

Happy to take a normal Mask of the Mantis here and pass on the Greater. I've already got see the unseen as a 5th level spell and don't have intimidate.

Agree on the Yurt.

I'm happy to take some shuriken, but aren't at all necessary.

I've certainty got a hand free to unleash an Animated Weapon, need to hold my main saber for Opportune backstab though.

I already included the half price there - check the sum formula ;) So it is 20 k after being halved.

Nomw, about adamantine, there is no rule that allwos that, you could use the metal to made new weapon and transfer the runes, but I think that is the only option

To move things along, it looks like we'll have 5076 gold each, and I'm going to assume that we can "buy" the stuff on the list at half price (that is, we'd just never sell it, and the share would come out of the individual's).

All the interest in the runes is on the assumption that they can be transferred over to another weapon. I think GM is making that implicit assumption.

Sien is interested in, or interested in rolling for:
1. adamantine cleaver (1400 gp), if he can get it fashioned into a sawtooth saber
2. greater cold resistance rune (1650 gp)
3. greater frost weapon rune (6500 gp)
4. explorer's yurt (880 gp): as this is a communal item, maybe it would be best if we just all agreed to take 220 gp less, and keep it
5. +2 rune (1035 gp) and one of the greater striking runes (1065 gp, x3) for a backup weapon
6. one of the wounding weapon runes (340 gp, x5)
7. one of the +1 striking weapon runes (100 gp, x4) for a backup weapon if #5 doesn't work out.

I'm going to go ahead and roll a d20 for 1, 2, 3, and 5, even though we haven't agreed that's the way it will be done. I'll advocate that, outside of a case for a character having an item (such as the +2 greater resilient armor for Ann and the greater mask of the mantis for Moonlight), each character that's interested will just roll a d20 and the higher one gets it.

Rolls for Items:

1 Adamantine Cleaver: 1d20 ⇒ 15
2 Cold Resist Armor: 1d20 ⇒ 5
3 Frost Weapon: 1d20 ⇒ 8
5a Weapon Potency Rune: 1d20 ⇒ 8
5b Weapon Striking Rune: 1d20 ⇒ 17

Sien doesn't have enough gold to buy everything on this list, so we'd need to resolve the item ownership before I can finalize purchases.

---

Re: Spacious Pouch

This is metagamey, but, uh, a Spacious Pouch II holds double what a Spacious Pouch I holds, and costs 4x as much. So ... unless we think there's a single item that's larger than 25 Bulk, we could just each get a Spacious Pouch I for 75 gp and have 100 Bulk of capacity between us, which is surely enough.

Sien already has a Spacious Pouch I, of which he uses less than 5 Bulk. If people think that's enough for the party, he's happy to share. Well, maybe not happy, since he's evil, but he'll marginally tolerate sharing for the benefit of accomplishing his selfish desire for revenge.

Hammid will pay for the Explorer's Yurt out of pocket - save your money team - I almost got one at the beginning of this adventure (Ng is Travel god), so excited to see it dropped as loot here.

Let me make sure I am understanding correctly:

1) Hammid keeps whatever he already bought at character creation
2) He now has 5076 gold to "spend" on top of that
3) He can "buy" anything from the list at half price

Am I missing anything?

Alright, since nobody else has expressed interest for the cold runes, Sien will take both the cold resist (-825) and frost (-3250). He'll sell his impact rune (+500). He's going to pick up two 4th rank wands of invisibility (2x -700 = -1400), and then a +1 striking light mace (-50) as a backup weapon, with 51 gp left over.

I just noticed that Mirror Image isn't on the Remastered spell list. I'll delete it from Sien's spellbook.

I'm also going to rearrange his 8th rank spells. He'll take Mountain Resilience (8th) to try to mitigate some of the incoming damage so there won't be as much healing required.

Edit: Sien will liberate 19 gp from Moonlight's purse and buy a pair of healer's gloves. It won't do much besides revive a better healer, but it's a good use of spare change.

Edit #2: Sien will quietly put Moonlight's money back, after realizing that he has gold left over from character creation, so won't need it. Sien has 99 gp left over, if anyone needs more loose change.

Quick logistical question about leveling up: is everything available to us immediately?

I don't know if we'll get a chance to rest before we head out, but should Sien's hit points be, for example, 145/176 (Level 14), or 145/203 (Level 15)? I assume we'll have enough time to heal up hit point damage, but should he have 8th rank slots prepared?

Alright, picking up a Nithral frying pan, Greater Striking Rune, and Animated Weapon Rune and just paying 35gp to buy a +2 Sawtooth Saber. Combining for an Animated +1 Greater Striking Sawtooth Saber (paying 376gp for the rune transfers).

Assuming I understand this right, the total value of the items I'm choosing is 4605. I halve this to 2302.5 I add 900 for the +2 Sawtooth Saber, and 410.5 (10%) to transfer the runes over.)

This is 3,613 which I subtract from my share of 5076, leaving 1463gp to add to my horde.

Are things available right away - yes, you are teleporting at a span of 2 days, getting full rest, one of the jumps would be to big city to get the items, so all is good. I will move us forward today/tomorrow.

Okay, because of the cost of transferring, Sien will no longer take the greater frost rune. Instead, I'm going to retrain his Achaekek Lore skill feat to Trick Magic Item, and pick up a wand of vital beacon (5th) for additional healing, plus a wand of darkvision (5th).

He'll pick up a few scrolls - most notably, clairvoyance. He's keeping his Read Lips skill feat (which he hasn't used) but this should allow us to spy a little.

I've also had to revamp his spellbook. I forgot that he gets a bunch of spells from his studious spells, so he can pick others. His default prepared spells remain the same.

My sheet is updated and I'm ready to go.

Question: May I swap Divine Rebuttal for Flexible Spellcaster Dedication?

(The former I rarely will use, the latter will help me prepare spells faster!)

Either way, I expect to finish tonight.

I added some status-condition healing as well as some "all enemies" blasting area spells, while mostly keeping in line with the types of spells you have already seen Hammid cast.

I meant to comment on that, AFAIK Mirror Image is still a valid spell it was not moved to remaster but it is not banned

GM,
Struggling with what assumptions I'm allowed to assume given Hammid's legendary Society skill and the following feats associated with it:

Biographical Eye (Surmise Class)
Courtly Graces (Impress Noble)
Eyes of the City (Urban Tracking)
Humbug Pocket (item)
Legendary Codebreaker
Leverage Connections (Request Thieves' Guild)
Streetwise (Gather Info)
Underground Network (Discreet Gather Info)

(Especially bolded / linked / spoilered below skill feats)

Now that he's a wanted man who has faked his own death, how would he be able to gauge whether his contacts won't betray him?

Eyes of the City:

You can track down targets with the help of locals. You can use Diplomacy or Society, whichever you're trained in, to Track creatures in settlements. You chat with locals to help follow the trail of creatures you Track. At the GM's discretion, there might not be enough people to speak with to keep following the trail.

Leverage Connections:

You know the right people who can get things done for you in certain circles. Once per week, when you're in an area that has an established group of influential nobles, mercantile elites, or the like (if you have Courtly Graces), or a network of unsavory characters such as a thieves' guild (if you have Streetwise), you can use Society to Request a favor or aid from those people as if they were friendly to you. Your request must make sense for the type of people you contact. For instance, a member of the royal court could secure you a proper invitation to a fancy ball, while a local burglar could point out a way to stealthily infiltrate that same party. If you critically succeed this check, your connection gives a piece of helpful advice or lets you in on a small secret, granting you or a member of your party a +2 circumstance bonus to the first skill check you attempt when acting on the favor. If you critically fail this check, you might have to perform some service for your connection to get back in their good graces, as determined by the GM.

Underground Network:

You're connected to groups that know what's going on in the streets, and you can get information out of them quickly. When you use Society to Gather Information in an area where you have a network (typically a settlement where you've spent at least a week or spent a day of downtime to build a network faster), you can contact a member of these groups to get information directly from them. This usually takes about an hour, and it doesn't draw as much attention as Gathering Information in public might. The check and information gained otherwise follow the normal rules for Gather Information.
In addition, if you have successfully consulted the underground network, you get a +1 circumstance bonus to the next check to Recall Knowledge you attempt about the subject you were Gathering Information on, or a +2 circumstance bonus if you're using Underworld Lore for the check. The GM might change the Lore skill related to the network depending on your location or the specifics of the network you're tapping into.

Sorry for silent time, next week I start vacation so ofc work is messy now

About the abilities. So, I did some digigng, Blood Mistress is also the only member of the Vernai whose name is known to the public (Just like with head of MI6;)). You are not Vernai, but I assume that real identity of assassins is not a public knowledge. I would imagine that all of you would be trying to protect your identity, weather indyvidual can deduce what you do, is a different story, but that would make your contacts not immediatelly lost. However your interactions with them can result in increasing visibility point, similarly like asking in taverns.

Sounds fair?
